Chapter VII
The Dragonborn and Lydia entered his new home. It was modestly sized and a bit bare, than again it was a free unfurnished house. Lucia ran up to the Dragonborn. "I finally have a home thanks to you. A dusty, dimly lit home. But a home none the less." she said.
"Well glad you like it. Anyway I've got to go." the Dragonborn said. "Wait you're leaving?" Lucia asked. "Yeah you know, I've got a lot on my dance card. What with this dragon problem and all." the Dragonborn said. "But you can leave here by myself!" Lucia exclaimed.
"You've been living on the streets longer than I'vebeen here. I don't think a few days without me will kill you." the Dragonborn said. "Could I at least have some money for food? Just a little until you come back?" Lucia asked. "*Sigh* Here's a hundred gold. Don't say I didn't do anything for you." the Dragonborn said tossing her a small sack of gold.
"Wow, thanks papa." Lucia said. "Just don't burn the place down while I'm gone." the Dragonborn said exiting the front door. "Sir, are you sure we should leave her here?" Lydia asked. "If you're that concerned with her than you can stay here and I'll go on cool awesome adventures." the Dragonborn suggested. "No, I'm just saying." Lydia said. "Alright, now onward to adventure!" the Dragonborn shouted.
15 minutes later...
"And that's what happens when you mix skooma with hist sap." the Dragonborn said. "Wow, that is horrifying. And all those poor goats." Lydia said. "Yeah and that's why I'm not allowed in Daggerfall anymore." the Dragonborn said.
The Dragonborn and Lydia traveled down the road passing a ruined tower. "Well. well. well. Look what we got here." a bandit said as the two approached. "Oh boy, listen bitch I'm not in the mood for this. Given how long I'm going to have to walk, I wanna get there before dark. Plus we're armed to the teeth so step aside." the Dragonborn said. "A hundred gold and you may pass." the bandit demanded.
"See, I don't think you heard me. She armed, I'm armed and I'd gladly murder you and your douchebag friends. So unless you step aside now!" the Dragonborn demanded. "I will went I that hundred gold." the bandit said. "*Sigh* Lydia, you know the drill." the Dragonborn said drawing his sword out. "I'm right behind you." Lydia said also drawing her sword.
15 more minutes later...
"Well that sucked." the Dragonborn said. "I just can't believe you disemboweled one of them." Lydia said. "They brought it upon themselves, and a lot of good that did. Didn't have a lot of gold, although they did have this sweet bow." the Dragonborn said. "And you cut that one dude's head off." Lydia said.
"I'm just we won't have anymore..." the Dragonborn said, then a Argonian popped out of nowhere. "Alright, hand over your gold!" the Argonian demanded. "Brah, are you for real right now?" the Dragonborn asked. "Gold! Now!" the Argonian demanded. "*Sigh* Lydia." the Dragonborn said. "On it." she said drawing her sword.
Much time later...
"After that it just exploded out. So that's why you don't eat raw calms sold by Orcs." the Dragonborn said. "The more I listen the more disgusted I become." Lydia said. "Yeah well no asked...Ah, we're here." the Dragonborn said as he and Lydia entered Ivarstead. "Huh, I imagined High Hrothgar to be...different." Lydia commented.
"No stupid, High Hrothgar is up there." the Dragonborn said pointing at the mountains. "You two headed up the mountain?" one of the villagers asked. "What's it to you old timer?" the Dragonborn asked. "It's just I usually make deliveries up to High Hrothgar and I got a bad knee." he explained. "Normally I'd tell you to go fuck yourself, but since I'm headed up anyway..." the Dragonborn said. "Great, take this bag and put it in the chest outside." he said tossing a bag to the Dragonborn.
The Dragonborn and Lydia made their long and treacherous climb up the mountain. Fighting wolves, a frost troll, and really, really aggressive goats. But they finally they reached High Hrothgar. "My Thane, we're here." Lydia said. "Good, I'm freezing my ass off out here. Why do make their armor with no sleeves." the Dragonborn said.
"Let's go." Lydia said, but was stopped by the Dragonborn. "You stay out here. They called me, plus seeing woman might freak them out so..." the Dragonborn said. "Oh, ah, very well Thane. I shall wait here till you return." Lydia said. "Thanks, you're the best Housecarl I've ever had." the Dragonborn said putting the sack into the chest and went inside.
The Dragonborn enter and walked towards the center of the room. Where seemingly out of no where he was approached by four old men in robes. "So this is how I go out? Murdered by a group of creepy old dudes? Alright then, have at you!" the Dragonborn said drawing his sword.
"Ah, you must be the Dragonborn. Welcome to High Hrothgar. I'm Master Arngeir." one of the men said. "Oh, ah...yes, so you are." the Dragonborn said. "So, why have you come?" Arngeir asked. "You called me, now what do I have to do some big test or something?" the Dragonborn asked.
"Normally yes, but we just woke up. So...how about you go get the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller. Doesn't matter when you get." Arngeir said. "Where is it?" the Dragonborn asked. "In a Nord ruin to the northeast of Morthal." Arngeir answered. "Very well, I should get going. You go back to doing, whatever it is you do when I'm not here." the Dragonborn said.
The Dragonborn left High Hrothgar and now he had his objective and his distination, but what was his end goal? It seemed he was committed to this Dragonborn thing, but would this fulfill his needs? Would this make him happy?
Of course, all these were completely forgotten about when he saw Lydia frozen solid. "Dramatic much Lydia? I was only in there for two minutes." the Dragonborn said. "Come on, we've got a horn to get." he said pulling on her arm and breaking it in the process. "Right after we get you thawed out and get your arm reattached." he said.
