"Hi Papa." Matthew smiled as he could hear Francis picking up the phone. Francis heart beat faster hearing Matthew's voice again.

"Hello Matthew!" He smiled warmly. "How has your first full day been?"

"It's been really good." Matthew smiled. "It rained a bit, but on the whole it was really good."

"Yeah, England tends to be a little rainy." He chuckled. "So what were you up to today?"

"I went out to go sightseeing on the open bus tour today." Matthew said, he couldn't wait to tell Francis about Gabriella. He would be so happy that he'd made a friend at long last.

"Was that trip really good? I bet you found it interesting." Francis smiled, relaxing he walked round to the sofa and sat down.

"Yeah. The trip really was interesting, and I have some really good news." Matthew smiled.

"Oh? And what is that?" Francis asked interested.

"I made a new friend." Matthew said proudly. Francis could of jumped for joy hearing those words. He had always been worried Matthew would never make any friends. He never really went out on his own at all, now here he was with a new friend.

"That's amazing news!" Francis cheered. "Come on I want details, what's their name? How did you two meet up? Are you hanging out tomorrow? Details!"

"Papa you need to calm down." Matthew chuckled. "It's not that big a deal."

"Yes it it." Francis grinned. "Come on, don't keep me in suspense."

"Okay I'll tell you." Matthew said grinning, his Papa was acting just like a teenager. "First thing, my new friend is a she."

"A she?" Francis felt so relieved, he didn't care either way, but a girl means Matthew may get a little crush. The thought of that to Francis was adorable.

"Yup, she's a she and a vampire." Matthew said slowly. He could tell Francis was getting more and more excited, which he was. Francis was also relieved to hear she was a vampire, it just made a lot of things easier. "We met on the bus. She got on the same bus I was on, we kinda sensed each other, she came over to me and we started chatting."

"Matthew I am so proud of you." Francis beamed.

"Her name's Gabriella. She's really nice, a little loud and forwards. But she's very nice, we hung out for the whole day. It was really cool. We were talking about all sorts of things." Matthew smiled blushing a little. "If it's okay... can she come back with me to Paris?"

"I see no reason why not." Francis said thinking it over. "She'll be welcome to come over."

"Cool, because she kinda really badly wants to get out of London. She was originally born in Prussia, and she wants to go back home." Matthew explained. Francis nodded a little confused.

"How did she get all the way over there?" Francis asked.

"She was taken over when she was little."

"Why hasn't she gone back before now?" Francis asked curiously. Matthew sighed.

"The reason she hasn't before is because her erm..." He cringed a little at the word. "She said her 'Master' is very controlling, he doesn't want her to go anywhere."

"Ah yes, that does sound like a problem." Francis nodded. "How old is Gabriella?"

"I don't know, but she's around my age so it's not like she can't take care of herself... and she's a lot more confident than I am." Matthew added in a sheepish tone. Francis chuckled.

"Well if she wants to visit, I won't stop her. I kinda know the feeling of being oppressed. She's welcome."

"Thanks Papa." Matthew smiled. "It will mean a lot to her."

"Yes." Francis nodded. "I also would like to meet her. She sounds like a really nice girl and it would be nice to have company. It would be the first time you would of brought a girl home." Francis added in a suggestive way. Matthew blushed.

"Don't say it like that." He grinned trying to sound serious. "We are just friends."

"Sure, sure." Francis grinned. "I hope you have fun and enjoy your trip, it sounds like you've gotten off to a really good start."

"Yeah, I'm really enjoying myself." Matthew grinned. "I really can't wait to do some of the other stuff, Gabriella's going to be going round with me. It's gonna be really good fun."

"Well get a good days rest, you want to be rearing to go." Francis chuckled. "And don't forget to feed."

"I won't." Matthew chuckled. "I know when and how and all that."

"Good." Francis smiled. "Enjoy tomorrow, I want to hear all about it."

"I'll call." Matthew smiled. "Bye Papa."

"Bye Matthew." Francis smiled sadly as the phone clicked off. He sighed putting his mobile down on the counter. He looked out of the window to the night sky. "He's all grown up." He said softly, his eyes looking out to the stars. He felt a little sad that Matthew was moving to stand on his own, he wondered how long it would be until he was independent. Francis shook his head. He was proud of Matthew. "He'll hopefully be bringing a girl home." He chuckled to himself. "A few days ago, I was so worried he may never do that. How things have changed." He smiled up to the stars. Still having mixed feelings about the whole thing. But he knew what he was getting into letting him go off like that. He had to grow up some time and he would be there to support him every step of the way... and promise to step back when needed, no matter how hard it may seem. He saw the stars twinkling in the night sky. "Love, our little boys all grown up. I'm so proud of him. I'm sure you are too."

Matthew woke up the next day and quickly got himself sorted. It was going to be a murder mystery trek today and he was meeting up with Gabriella. He couldn't wait to see her again, he was so excited. He was also glad he could tell her that Francis had okayed her coming to Paris with him. As Matthew found his thoughts drifting back to the confident and very attractive girl that was Gabriella, he did have to admit to himself that he did have a small crush on her. She was confident, she was determined, she was really nice, she was really funny and she seemed to like him. He blushed a little as he through about seeing her later. His small daydream was interrupted by his mobile going off. He jumped as the small device played the calling tune. Why did he put it on loud? He quickly recovered and answered the phone.

"Hello?" Matthew said a little shakily from being caught off guard.

"Hiya Matthew." Gabriella grinned. "You ready for today?"

"Am I ever." He said happily. "I've checked all the tickets and timings, it's gonna be a packed day!"

"Awesome! Oh yeah my Master is still asleep at the moment so I'm gonna sneak out to see you." She smirked as she walked towards the door.

"Won't he get angry?" Matthew asked a little concerned for her. As attractive as rebellion was, he didn't want her to get into too much trouble.

"Yeah, he probably will. But then again all he'll do is text me to say when he want's me back here." Gabriella said as she unlocked the door.

"Okay... Oh yeah!" Matthew remembered. "I asked Papa if it was okay for you to come back with me to Paris, he said he would love to meet you, providing the rest of the trip goes well and all. But yeah, he'd love you to visit." Gabriella fist pumped the air.

"That is so awesome Matthew. Thanks a lot!" She smiled teasingly. "If you were here I would kiss you." She smirked. Matthew's face went bright red and all he could do was squeak in response. Gabriella grinned at the adorable reaction. "Awww! You are so cute." She giggled. "So meet up outside the London Dungeons in half an hour?"

"S-S-Sure." Matthew stuttered still trying to recover.

"See you there Matthew." She said softly before hanging up. Matthew put his mobile back in his pocket. He quickly caught his reflection, which made him blush even more. Turning away from the mirror he took some deep breaths and tried to calm down. Everything was going to be perfectly fine. He didn't need to be embarrassed at all. Though he did start to feel butterflies in his stomach as he thought about Gabriella. He definitely was developing a crush. He picked up his stuff that he would need for today. Making sure he had his oyster card, his money, maps of where they were going and tickets. He looked back to the mirror. His hair was really scruffy, he didn't want to look scruffy. Also he could hear Francis' voice in his head telling him to take care of his appearance. He grabbed a brush and sorted out his hair. Happy with how he looked he headed out.

"Hey Matthew!" Gabriella called out as Matthew stepped off the bus. Matthew looked round to her and smiled. Gabriella was pleased to see him, she had been thinking bout him all night. She had met loads of guys before, most of them a lot older than her. They had tried to sweet talk her and charm her. Even Arthur had tried at first, but when he deemed her 'unworthy' of him, he did try to marry her off. Unfortunately for him, Gabriella proved unworthy for every suitor he could find. The main reason being that she didn't like any of them. They were old and boring. As Matthew walked towards her with his soft shy smile, he was different from them. He saw her as a person, not an apprentice who needed to be broken and controlled. She felt her heart beat faster as he came nearer. She quickly tried to shake off the feeling. Matthew looked to her slightly confused.

"Are you alright?" He asked softly. Gabriella nodded and grinned.

"Yeah. I was just thinking about some stuff." She said. She smiled quickly looping her arm around his. "Come on, lets go!"

"Sure." Matthew smiled as she pulled him along. Matthew chuckled quietly as they made their way to the queue. He had a feeling this was going to be another good day. But not too far away from them, a pair of emerald eyes settled on the pair. Arthur was masking himself so he could see who this Matthew was. He felt anger build inside him seeing Gabriella so happy and clearly in love. How he envied her, knowing the his Love had died so long ago. How dare she mock him by going with who should have been his son had she never left. But no, Francis his old apprentice had fallen for her too. They ran away together and had a child. That child causing her to die before her time. That child who was now giggling and laughing with his ward. He needed to be sure though. He needed to know this was Francis' son. He must not be mistaken. As he watched them, Arthur felt his anger boil the more he examined Matthew. He was tall and slim, so similar build to Francis. He had wavy blond hair matching Francis'. But the final piece of proof was when Matthew turned round and Arthur saw his face. Matthew had gentle violet eyes, the same colour eyes as his Love had so many centuries ago. This was her son. Arthur felt a flash of conflict inside him. Part of him wanted to kill the boy, he was no doubt Francis pride and joy. He wanted Francis to suffer like he had, knowing the person he had loved more than anything else in the world was taken from him and later died. But another part scolded him for ever thinking of harming Matthew. He was his Love's son, how could he bring harm to him. His anger and rage was caused by Francis. That was who he wanted to get revenge on. Arthur chuckled darkly.

"Love can make people do stupid things." He chuckled to himself. "I wonder if I can use this to trap my old apprentice."

"Come on Matthew, let's go." Gabriella called dragging him inside the London Dungeon building.

"I'm coming." He cried out as he nearly lost his balance. He looked back to the outside world and spotted a lone figure. Emerald eyes glinted at him, a dark smirk on his face. Matthew blinked and the figure was gone.

"Come on!" Gabriella cried pulling him along. Matthew looked back to her and nodded following her inside. But his mind wondering, who was that out there? … And why did he feel like he was in danger? Matthew made a mental note to tell Francis later about the strange figure. Maybe he knew him.
