Chapter 7 = The Visit (Kate's POV)

Kate was shocked. She was being taken away by ghosts. She had no idea that they knew her for years. She then was led to Franklin's lair where her disapproving grandfather was awaiting. She then was dropped hard on a red velvet carpet. She stood up and saw a dark shadow.

"Do you mind asking why you are here?" asked a voice behind Kate. It was Franklin.

"No. But why me?" asked Kate.

"Let me explain that to you, my dear. I am your grandfather. Remember…"

"No. Who are you and where did you come from?"

"I am your grandfather Franklin. You know? Your father's father. I came from here of course, and I owned the place."

"Where are you?" The dark voice then shaded in the form of a ghost. Kate turned around and found her spirited grandfather. "Wow. It really is you," she said.

"Come sit, my dear. I won't bite. It's not like I'm a vampire." Kate walked slowly and sat down on the velvet carpet. "Here's some tea," said her grandfather as the tea floated to her from across the room. "So, Kate, I understand your life has been a struggle to perfection."

"Well, I wouldn't say that, Grandfather. I am perfectly imperfect, because I work for twenty four hours straight," she replied.

"I would. You see, Kate, you're not normal."

"What? How can you say that I'm not normal? I mean everyone's normal."

"Oh, you're not like that, my dear. As you can see, you have many of your mother's traits."

"I know. Is there a problem?"

"Well, children are genetically formed. Most normal children have traits from both of their parents. You my dear just happen to have your mother's traits only. There's nothing from your father in your blood."

"You mean…"

"Yes, Kate. You're made out of a pregnancy pill; only from your mother's blood." Kate spitted her tea out when she heard this. I thought Mother was telling the truth, and I thought I had my father's eyes she thought. She then knew what it was like to be abnormal…
