Ember shot through the ghost zone like a bat out of hell dodging floating asteroids, guards and most of all walker. He was hot on her case giving chase at breakneck speed, ember knew one thing, she was not going back to that prison, it had taken her weeks to get out and that's where she intended to stay, as far away from that psychopath as possible. She needed a way out and now before she got boxed in, this thought was interrupted by a loud bang followed by a sharp pain in her abdomen, she skidded to the ground falling like a ragdoll across the rocky surface.

She looked down to see that she was bleeding ectoplasm from her stomach, the green blood like substance pooling around her wound. "Breaking out is against the rules" she heard the snide arrogant voice of walker say.

"Screw you freak bag" she shouted back at him shooting ecto-beams, bad idea she thought as she cringed at the stress it had put on her already injured body clutching her side to try and stop the bleeding.

Walker deflected the blasts with ease, "attacking an officer of the law and use of vulgar language, that's going to add another few centuries to your sentence" he said smugly smirking at his downed prey. He approached preparing to capture her when he heard an ear splitting howl that caused him to cringe. Walker knew that howl, Wulf a dimension opening menace to society that had been freed years ago by the only greater menace, phantom, if walker knew anything it was that this would not end well.

Wulf had already torn through a large number of walkers guards, taking them down with stealth and precision like the apex predator that he was, brutal and merciless quick and powerful, and most of all dangerous, walker looked back at his now unconscious target, she could wait wulf was the top priority in the ghost zone at that moment, and would stay so unless the ghost zone's number one public enemy, phantom, decided to show his face. "Leave her" he instructed his minions, "After the beast" he commanded. Beast gave a toothy grin that showed his green stained fangs, the message behind it was clear, even to a barely conscious ember. She had seen phantom use that grin a million times it had one meaning, "come and get me, if you think you can".

As walker took off after wulf, ember crawled as far and as fast as she could but her wounds were too severe, she soon succumbed to darkness, with one last ditch effort she threw herself off the ledge.

Ember drifted unconscious through the void of the ghost zone slowly moving aimlessly in whatever direction the ghost zone pulled her, with only the hope that she would wake up anywhere but walker's prison.

Back in the human world Danny was still standing on the rooftop he didn't know what the future held but he knew that if he wanted it to be a future worth fighting for he would have to stop waiting and go after it and for the first time in almost a year he felt something old and familiar, the urge to fly. Danny sauntered towards the edge, then closing his eyes leaned forward.

Danny fell for what seemed like an eternity, he looked down, enjoying the moment before he felt the familiar tingling sensation, of all the things this signified, Danny's personal victory over hopelessness, the turning of a new leaf in his life, the biggest thing of all was the most obvious, Phantom was back. Why? to give others the gift that had been given to him by a heavy set man with a retreating hairline and a heart of gold, to give the gift of hope
