Seek and You Shall Find
Author's Note: Hello! Sorry I haven't updated this in a while. I was really busy with finals and then my computer stopped working for a few months, MONTHS, and I wanted to get back to this as soon as possible. Please review! Finally, I know that some people are afraid that WW is OC, and that she is too dependent on BM, but I don't see it that way. She is trying to tell him that no matter what is done to her, she is going to deal with it with or without him. Enjoy

Chapter 7
As Batman and Wonder Woman exited the medical wing, any passerby could tell that something had happened between the two of them. They were walking closer to each other with small smiles on their faces, and if someone were to look closely enough, they would see their hands brush each other every so often.
Arriving in the Watchtower, Batman headed towards the monitor that he had previously vacated and Diana pulled up a chair to join him. They stared at the screen together in a comfortable silence waiting for anything out of the ordinary to call them away. There was no sign of Flash, and they were both thinking that was for the better. A small giggle escaped Wonder Woman's lips as she watched the dark streets of Gotham.
"What's so funny, Diana?" Bruce asked, not looking away from the monitor.
"I was just imagining what you would have done if Wally were still in here when we got back," Diana replied with a full laugh that sent a warmth surging through Bruce's veins.
All she received was a grunt in reply, but she knew that he was also thinking about Wally's unfortunate fate.
"Diana?" a voice from her com called out.
"Yes Superman?"
"I am dealing with a crisis that seems to be spreading. It looks like Devil Ray is the cause of the expansion. I could use some help controlling it."
"I am on my way," Diana said as she rose from her chair and started to walk towards the exit.
"I almost forgot," Diana turned back towards Bruce and placed a kiss on his cheek before she headed off towards the hanger.
If she had stayed a little longer, she would have seen a blush spread across Bruce's face and heard an audible sign fill the room.
On Earth…
"Alright Superman," Diana yelled over the sound of explosions, "Where do you need me?"
"Devil Ray has a group of goons on the East side, and I can't keep them all under wraps," Clark said as he looked towards a group of civilians trapped in an overturned bus.
"I'll handle it."
As she flew towards the scene, she could see flames licking a nearby building and cries of fear coming from the fourth floor window closest to her. As she approached the window, she could not see anyone inside and she decided that she would have to go inside in order to get whoever it was out of there. Climbing through the window, she scanned the room looking for any signs of the origin of the cry. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her whole body and she felt light headed.
Oh Hera! It's happening again! She could feel her strength quickly dwindling, and the only thing she could think to do was to get out of the building before she was left to burn to death. Shaking as she got to her feet, she heard the distinct sound of footsteps behind her. Before she could turn to face the intruder, she was struck from behind with a metal object of sorts. By now, her vision was blurred and her body ached, but she had to get out of there. With every ounce of remaining strength, she pushed herself towards the window and fell.
Meanwhile…
"Diana, I took care of the West and central area. I can still see some smoke coming from your section, do you need help?" Clark spoke into the com.
As Superman scanned the area that he just recently saved from chaos, he began to worry about Wonder Woman. Usually she would have responded with some comment about not needing help but it was not unwelcome. Turning towards the still burning area of town, Superman decided to take care of the situation first and then look for Wonder Woman.
After having extinguished several fires and rounding up a few thugs that had decided they could outrun Superman, Clark looked for any signs of Diana or Devil Ray. The skies, streets, buildings, and vehicles were clear, but something about a near-by road caught his eye. As he got closer, Clark could see a crater that looked as if he had created it, but it was a bit smaller than him. Realization of who must have made the crater caused Clark to recheck every area in range.
"Batman, are you in the Watchtower?" Clark called through the coms.
"Yes, Superman," came the gravelly reply, "what can I do for you?"
"I need you to track Diana's com. She is not responding and I cannot find her."
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the coms as Clark waited for the reply.
"The monitors say that she is ten blocks south of you," Batman relayed.
"Okay. I will let you know when I find her."
Taking to the sky, Clark quickly headed South in search for Diana. As he touched down on a dimly lit street, Clark noticed something that made his blood turn ice cold.
"Batman, I think Devil Ray and some of his goons have Diana," Clark said as calmly as he possibly could, but it did not take super hearing to know that there was panic in his voice.
"What?!" was the furious cry from the other end of the line.
"I found her earpiece on the ground and some tire tracks leading away. I think one group grabbed her, and another picked them all up in a van." Clark said as he crouched down by the tire marks.
"I will call in the league," Batman supplied with an eerie calm, "get up here as quick as you can."
Meanwhile…
Diana could hear voices all around her, and when she tried to open her eyes she could only see blurred images. Her head was throbbing and her body felt as if it were on fire. As she tied to turn onto her side, she realized that she was strapped down to a table of some sort. Hera, help me!
She heard the distinct noise of footsteps approaching the table, and tried to get a clear look at who it was. She could only make out colors and a few general shapes, but she was sure that she recognized Devil Ray's outfit. Thinking back on the burning building, she could remember seeing somebody that held a remarkable similarity to Devil Ray.
"I see our Princess is finally waking up," Devil Ray's voice echoed off of the metal walls.
A groan was his only response as another wave of pain cascaded through Diana's body. She was now fully alert, but the pain was causing her to lose focus quickly.
"I wonder how much The Bat will do to get you back?" he laughed, "I bet he will be disappointed when he realizes that you are dead either way."
"Batman will not be the only one looking for me, and you better hope that I don't find the strength to get out of this infernal contraption. If I do get out, you should probably start running," came Diana's labored response.
"Ah, but you will be in no condition to fight," Devil Ray said as he leaned over her, "and your friends will just have to die with you and The Bat."
