Kagami stared at his blue haired friend. They're currently having their lunch inside the classroom and the bigger of the two seems to can't get his attention away from the radiant aura the other is giving off.
"Is there something on my face, Kagami-kun?" Kuroko asked. He had his head raised to face Kagami who is eyeing him intently with an uneasy look on his face. Kagami was stunned for a moment before waving his hand in front of his face to dismiss what Kuroko said.
"It's just that, ever since a week ago, your mood seems to have lightened and you look all refreshed and sparkling that it's unsettling for me."
Kagami honestly said. Kuroko stared at his friend for a while before chuckling. It caught the taller one off guard but Kuroko stopped laughing all of a sudden and gave Kagami one big smile.
"I've just been able to have good dreams, that is all"
Kuroko confessed, but Kagami seems to not be convinced deep inside although he brushed that feeling aside for he does not want to make Kuroko tell any more.
"Fine, fine."
Once he was off of school, Kuroko began his way home and as was the last few days of the current week, his strides were longer and his eyes were only staring forward. He is definitely eager to get home.
Just the previous week, he seems to still be afraid of home and his room, especially his bed; the culprit of all of his sufferings. But now, he welcomes it in his life. He even acknowledges the warm blankets and the soft pillows his bed has offered him, something that seemed out of this world to actually happen.
He knows that peaceful and fulfilling sleep are his main reason why he's eager to just lie on his bed, but another factor is that he gets to once again talk to his savior; the one and only red headed baku that helped him get rid of his nightmares.
Although he was told that the baku's job is to fulfill their client's choice for a dream, Kuroko did not have any particular dream that he'd rather be seeing. All he wants is a peaceful, nightmare-free sleep. Having the baku talk to him in his sleep is just probably a bonus.
The baku is relaxing to talk to, he seems to calm Kuroko's nerves and gain his self confidence with all the talks they've been having in his sleep. It may seem crazy, but he became quite attached to the baku in his dreams. He just finds it sad that the baku does not show himself in person any more.
Upon realizing this, Kuroko felt a sudden feeling of sadness. Though he does want to spend reality time with Akashi, he also cannot say it directly to the baku's face. Somehow he knew that, they're probably just going to talk in dreamland with him forgetting about almost 70 percent of what they've talked about when he woke up.
Kuroko took one final turn on the left and there stood his humble home. The blue head walked towards the front door and fished out his keys from the pocket of his school uniform. As Kuroko swung the door open, he felt something different about the house's atmosphere.
Kuroko stepped inside as he thought of what could be the reason why his house seems 'different' somehow.
The blue head took a good look at the living room, kitchen and other various rooms of the first floor. When he found out that nothing seems to be out of place on the first floor, he went on and climbed up to the second floor of his home.
That's when he noticed his room's door being slightly ajar. He then took notice of the curtains flying because of the strong afternoon wind.
'Curtains flying?'
Kuroko seems to beat loss for a moment. But then he realized and suddenly, his heart rate quickened.
'Does that mean that he's here?'
With his heart pounding and his knees quivering, he did not waste any more time and fully opened his room. Kuroko looked carefully around and sure enough, the room is empty. His heart sank and he sighed.
'Maybe I just didn't really close the window this time around. So much for wanting to meet him again.'
The blue head approached the open window and closed it, blocking the chilly wind it let through. Kuroko lingered a little more than usual as he stared at the sunset that is displayed on the window.
"Were you perhaps, hoping for me?"
Kuroko turned around and the shock can be clearly seen in his eyes. There, sitting on the once empty bed, was the very baku that helped him rid of his hellish dreams.
"Akashi-kun..."
Kuroko said his name in a small whisper. This seemed to amuse the baku, for he chuckled. He then lightly patted the empty space next to him on the bed.
"Care to have a chat with me, Tetsuya?"
Kuroko nodded and absentmindedly walked over to the bed and sat exactly where the red head had patted.
"What brings you here today, Akashi-kun?"
Kuroko asked innocently. Akashi smirked and circled his arm around Kuroko's waist, earning a surprised gasp from the latter. Kuroko shuddered and felt a sudden chill climb up his spine as Akashi leaned closer, bringing his lips just barely above Kuroko's ear.
"For all I know, dear Tetsuya, you called me here."
Kuroko stiffened as soon as he felt the impossibly cool breath and tone of the red haired baku on his ear.
Akashi chuckled once more before letting go of the bluenette's waist and putting distance between him and Kuroko. The human carefully turned his head around to take a glance at the baku's face. As far as Kuroko could tell, Akashi still has this dangerous playfulness in his eyes.
"Let's skip the foreplay and let's get down to business"
Akashi said through smirking lips.
'You're the one who started doing all that.'
Kuroko frowned as the thought came to mind.
"You see, Tetsuya..."
Akashi started.
"...The contract does not last forever."
The baku solemnly said. Kuroko turned his full attention to the baku now. Although Akashi's tone kind of fall into a sad one, his face still retains its playful nature.
"That means—"
"There's still a way to continue the contract."
'There it is.'
Kuroko knew the baku's only playing around. But the thought that the nightmares will be back again and that he'll have to endure the medication again, he does not want that anymore.
"You'll only have to do one simple thing to fully establish our contract."
"And that would be?"
Akashi smiled a full one as Kuroko leaned in closer to listen well.
"Though I don't know if you'll be able to fulfill it."
Akashi jokingly said and Kuroko frowned.
"Stop joking around, Akashi-kun"
The red head sighed before shaking his head. The look of disbelief present in his face as he faced the blue head once again.
"Why do you have to take things so seriously, Tetsuya."
"Just... get on with it."
Kuroko said softly as he avoided eye contact with the baku.
"Well, knowing you humans, I bet you can do the seal to the contract."
"What is it then?"
Kuroko looked curiously at the red head. Akashi shook his head and brought his hand on top of Kuroko's eyes. The blue head did not know what the other is trying to accomplish, but he's not going to back away from the baku.
"Stop being so stiff."
Akashi firstly ordered.
"Close your eyes first and everything will be over soon."
Akashi removed his hand from Kuroko's eyes and is pleased by how the human kept his eyes closed. Kuroko does not know what to expect and what he'll have to do to fulfill the contract. Nevertheless, he did as he was told.
"This will be a painless ceremony so you don't have to worry."
Kuroko felt some truth to Akashi's words but his nerves seem to not calm down. And was it just him, or was Akashi's voice sounds nearer than before?
Kuroko felt the cold tips of the baku's fingers brush along his cheek and caressed it. He felt the need to back away but the caressing suddenly turns into holding. The firm grip of Akashi's hand of Kuroko's jaw kept the blue head's face just where it is. Kuroko's tempted to peek and open his eyes, but he does not know what to expect and so he denied of the idea.
Kuroko once again felt the cold breath of the baku closing in.
'Is he going to do what I think he's going to do?'
Kuroko nervously thought to himself, but he cannot bear open his eyes and find out for himself. He heard the baku chuckle, and the sound was nearer than before. Kuroko gulped for what was about to come.
"Thank you for the meal."
Before the human can question what the baku meant by that, cold and chapped lips landed against his own. Kuroko shut his eyes even further as he grew stiff from the lip locking treatment he's receiving but soon, Kuroko reciprocated the action albeit a little bit hesitant.
The first one to pull away was Akashi and as soon as he let go of Kuroko's jaw, the teen immediately moved to the edge of the bed faraway from where Akashi was seated and he desperately tried to cover his tomato colored face.
"Why did you do that!?"
Came Kuroko's muffled words. From where he was however, Akashi was not in the slightest fazed by the reaction his client showed to him, in fact, he's even smiling.
"Now that the contract's been made,"
Akashi started as he stood up from the bed. As he felt the weight lift, Kuroko took a peek from his hands, though he still did not brought them down.
"I think I should make my leave."
Akashi announced. The window suddenly bursts open and as the red head was ready to disappear to the night, a hand stopped him from doing so.
Just as he thought the baku is going to leave him, Kuroko grabbed the baku's coat sleeve and tugged at it lightly. Akashi turned to look at the human with an amused look on his face.
"Are you not satisfied with one?"
Akashi teased. Kuroko gaped at the baku and shook his head.
"I just want to ask if I'll be seeing you again."
The baku became silent and only stared at the human who was still tugging on his sleeve. Kuroko did not break eye contact with the baku too as he genuinely seek for the answer.
"If you keep asking for it then we might."
The baku simply said. A gust of wind made Kuroko let go of the baku's sleeve and before he knows it, Akashi was nowhere to be found and his window is once again closed.
'If I keep asking...'
Kuroko adds as an afterthought to everything that has happened. He then plopped down on the bed, letting the sudden happening sink in.
'Was a kiss really a standard way to seal a contract?'
Kuroko reached up to touch his lips. He clearly remembers how cold but soft the baku's lips were against his own. Kuroko heaved a breath he doesn't know he's holding up until now. He covered his eyes with his arms and let the reality that they actually kiss get to him.
'This... is bad.'
'This is bad'
Akashi speculated from somewhere he can observe his client but where his client cannot notice him no matter how hard he looks.
He feels that he's straying quite far away from his original goal and instead he's messing around with Kuroko both in reality and dreams. He grabbed a fistful of his hair before disheveling it and he lets out a grunt.
He only intended for that kiss to be an elaborate joke, but it seems the kid enjoyed it and now he's at fault why Kuroko looks so conflicted right now. Not just the human, but he knows that he's conflicted too. With one last glance at Kuroko's window, the baku closed his eyes left with only one thought in mind
'Just what the hell have I gone into?'
A/N I'm very very truly sorry! I'm having a terrible writer's block from being imprisoned in my house—well not really... more like the weather's just so unforgiving that it's hard to go out and get inspiration... And I can't really be inspired within the vicinity of my house to save my life...
Ugh I'm terrible... I'm truly sorry everyone... I promise that everything will be fast paced from here on. If you know the song this has been based off of, then you might know what'll happen next? And that this story is gonna be nearing its end—
Welp, I added my own elements so this won't end that fast...just... quite fast...
