Chapter seven: Trust
Amu sighed as she lay in her bed. It was getting closer to being eleven thirty but she just couldn't fall asleep. Something told her she needed to be awake for a while longer.
So, instead of trying to fight off her gut feeling, Amu stayed up. Waiting for the strange happening to, well, happen.
Sighing again Amu glanced at her alarm clock,
"11:20…." She breathed. She looked at her ceiling, hugging an old stuffed pink kitty that Ai had gotten her at an amusement park. She hugged it tighter as the memory flashed through her brain.
"Onii-chan!" a younger version of Amu called out to a boy that looked like her but with shorter hair and more boyish features. The boy smiled as he turned and looked at Am.
"Amu," he hugged her briefly as a greeting then pulled away, his grin widening," can't wait for the amusement park?" he asked. Amu nodded her small head vigorously this made Ai smile all the more.
Amu turned with a smile on her face. Ai had always been there for her.
Amu and Ai arrived at the amusement park with their foster parents, one of the few that were kind to them. Amu and Ai looked up at them, asking silently for passage. The parents smiled and nodded their heads.
Amu and Ai smiled largely and ran off, but also making sure that their "parents" didn't lose sight of them.
They went on an assortment of rides, as many as they could being only seven years old.
They rode rides for hours in the day, and then some into the night. They were walking around with their foster parents when Ai saw a game booth, and, headed over to it.
Amu turned and saw Ai standing by a booth and walked over to him.
"Onii-chan?" she called. Ai looked at her," hmm?" he replied.
"Whadaya doing?" she asked. Ai laughed then pointed at a large, stuffed pink cat that had a red collar on with a golden bell. Amu's eyes widened, her gaze locking onto it. She looked at Ai and he nodded his head then looked at the booth manager.
"I would like to play!" he called. The young woman giggled when she heard this, but let him play anyway. Amu and Ai's foster parents gave them some money and Ai played.
The game was a ring throwing game, if you can get most or all of your five rings onto a stake then you get a prize of your choice.
Ai surprisingly won on his first try and he got the big stuffed kitty for Amu.
Amu squeezed the kitty closer to her chest.
She missed Ai.
Amu's happy mood was starting to turn sour when she was snapped from it, by a small tap on her balcony window.
Amu's head shot up and she turned quickly, getting ready to scream, but stopped short, her mouth falling open without a sound escaping.
There stood Tsukiyomi Ikuto in all his glory. He looked rugged and beat up with some cuts on his neck and face.
Amu and Ikuto had a staring contest for a while before Ikuto tapped again and gestured towards the handle. Amu stood and went over to the door, unlocking it and slowly opening the door.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" she asked in a harsh, hushed tone. Ikuto shrugged his shoulders and pushed passed her kicking off his shoes. Amu's face turned red with rage and embarrassment,
"Ikuto-" she almost yelled. Ikuto swiftly put a hand over her mouth, cutting her off.
"Shh, you don't want anyone hearing you right?" he asked, a smirk tugging at his lips. Amu scowled up at him, but he was right. She didn't want her parents, or worse, Kukai, to barge into her room then kill Ikuto without an explanation.
No. She wanted an explanation before she killed Ikuto.
"What are you doing here Ikuto?" Amu asked more calm after Ikuto let go of her mouth. Ikuto shrugged his shoulders, appearing nonchalant, but Amu could see past that mask, if only a little, plus his cuts were a dead giveaway.
"Did you get in a fight with your parents?" Ikuto stiffened. Ha! One for Amu! Amu pushed away her short victory and focused on the matter at hand.
"What happened?" Amu asked. Ikuto once again shrugged his shoulders and sat on Amu's bed, his back facing her. Amu sighed and walked over, sitting next to him and looked up at his face, which was still battered and bruised.
After staring at Ikuto for a long time without him even looking back, Amu sighed, standing up and grabbing Ikuto's sleeve. He looked at her and Amu had a smile on her face,
"Let's go clean you up." And with that, she started to tug him towards her bathroom. Ikuto just limply followed her, not sure what to make of this situation.
Once inside the bathroom, Amu sat Ikuto on the toilet seat and went through her cupboard. She pulled out some bandages and ointment, setting them on the counter she pulled out some cotton balls as well. Amu poured some of the ointment on a cotton ball and stepped over to Ikuto, lifting his face so that she could get at the small cuts on his face.
She dabbed here and there with the cotton ball before she grabbed some bandages and covered the more noticeable cuts.
After finishing, Amu stood back in satisfaction and with a smile," there you go. Good as new!" she said happily. Ikuto just stared at her, not quite sure how to react to her enthusiasm.
After a whole minute, Ikuto stood up from his seat and looked down at Amu. Amu looked up at him, looking confused. Without a word, Ikuto left the bathroom, heading for Amu's bed.
Amu followed after him, wondering what was wrong. Well, she knew what was wrong she just wanted to hear him speak up about it. But sadly, Hinamori Amu isn't a very patient person so it wasn't long before she asked,
"What happened, Ikuto?" Amu tried keeping a level voice, but it squeaked slightly at the end. Amu was nervous, and to put in bluntly, scared of how Ikuto might respond. Would he tell her? Or would he…..
Amu hand lightly touched her check, wincing a little at the pain that came from the light touch. Ikuto luckily didn't notice this as he didn't look at Amu when she asked him her question. Ikuto just stared down at the floor, sitting there, not entirely sure how to respond.
After a long silence, Ikuto looked up at Amu," my foster dad beats me whenever he gets drunk. Or any time for that matter." Ikuto sighed. Amu reached a hand out; about to put it on his shoulder when she stopped short and pulled her hand back to her side.
Silence once again stretched between them as Amu stood in front of Ikuto who was sitting on her bed.
"Ikuto, you should tell the social worker-"
"I already have!" Ikuto said harshly, almost yelling.
"Amu-chan?" Tsumugu's voice rang out from the hall, both Ikuto and Amu stiffened. So, in a panic, Amu quickly turned her lights off and shoved Ikuto over, jumping into the bed, covering them both with her comforter.
"What're you-"
"Shh!" Amu cut off Ikuto question, putting a hand over his mouth as they heard Amu's door creak open. They lay there, batted breath and sweating nervously as Amu hoped with everything that her dad left, just thinking he heard things.
The sound of the door shutting and a muffled,
"Was I just imagining things?" coming from behind the door, before the sound of Tsumugu's footsteps disappeared as he walked away.
Amu sighed and let go of Ikuto's mouth, sitting up from her bed. Ikuto sat up too, a light blush on his face but conveniently covered by the darkness of the room.
"Why'd you hide me?" Ikuto asked after several minutes of quiet. Amu looked at him and glared," well, why'd you yell suddenly?" she prodded, seemingly pissed, but a light blush shone on her face, gleaming in the moonlight from the balcony window.
Ikuto's eyes widened at the sight, Amu was desperately trying to hide her blush as Ikuto just kept staring at her, not giving an answer because he wasn't even sure why he had yelled,
"Dammit, I wanna kiss her so much…." Ikuto thought somewhat painfully. He didn't want to force his feelings onto Amu, though he was pretty certain he could make her fall for him in some other way, taking her and randomly kissing her wasn't going to do the trick, especially since she didn't even trust him fully.
"Well?" Amu's voice cut through Ikuto's thoughts and he focused back on her. After a bit of debate of what to say in his head, Ikuto sighed and shook his head,
"I dunno. It just came out as a yell. I'm sorry, but you didn't answer my question," Ikuto looked at Amu, a smirk hidden by the shadows cast on his face,
"Why did you hide me?" Amu's face once again flushed and she looked away. After not being looked at for a couple minutes, Ikuto decided to make Amu look at him. So he reached down and put a hand to Amu's chin, turning it so she would look at him.
Amu's face seemed to grow a darker shade of red for every inch her face turned to look at him when finally she was fully facing him with a face redder than a tomato.
"I-I d-d-dun-no….." she stuttered, causing Ikuto to look a bit confused. But then, they both seemed to realize their situation, how they were situated on the bed.
Their legs were almost intertwined their bodies, so close to touching and their faces were only inches apart.
They both subconsciously started to lean in, closer to the other. Amu's eyes started too closed and Ikuto almost gave in, when, a strange idea popped into his head and he changed the direction of his head, nipping Amu's ear.
Amu almost threw him off the bed and she quickly threw a hand to her mouth to muffle her own scream of surprise. Ikuto silently laughed at Amu, causing her to glare at him with all she had.
"What the hell was that for?!" Amu harshly whispered. Ikuto just shrugged his shoulders, before smirking and saying,
"I tricked you." This made Amu face flush red in rage. She quickly threw Ikuto off her bed, causing him to land on his butt with a 'thump'. Ikuto started to rub his butt of the pain, wincing and glaring at Amu. She stuck her tongue out at him before turning her head away in a defiant way.
Ikuto scowled, then, an idea popped into his head. He jumped right back into the bed, pulling the covers over his body while wrapping his arms around Amu's waist. Amu squeaked before falling silent, her face once again flushing red.
"W-what are y-you d-doing, pervert!" Amu asked, clearly embarrassed about the whole situation.
"Spoil me," Ikuto looked up at Amu with his best kitty cat eyes he could muster. Amu just stared at him for a moment before sighing,
"Okay, okay. I get it. Just stop looking at me like that." Ikuto smirked in triumph and snuggled his face in Amu's stomach, making Amu start giggling. Ikuto smirked as he heard her giggles and started to tickle her. Amu threw her hands to her mouth, trying to prevent any loud noises to leave her mouth.
This on for quite some time before Amu thwacked Ikuto on the head,
"Stop it!" eye twitching, Amu looked beyond pissed. Ikuto chuckled,
"Fine." And he dropped his hands to wrap around Amu midsection again.
"Goodnight, Amu." Amu at the way Ikuto said her name,
"N-n-night, Ikuto." Amu stuttered in return. Ikuto silently chuckled to himself before letting Amu's breathing lull him to sleep.
Amu was able to pull herself together to be able to start falling asleep, letting Ikuto's calm, rhythmic breathing to lull her to sleep.
[Time skip: morning]
Amu woke up and sat up, stretching. Amu stopped for a moment. She looked down and around her but couldn't find what she was looking for,
"Where'd Ikuto go….?" She wondered," was last night a dream….?" Amu was going to go with that until she saw the note on her bedside table. Picking it up she looked at it.
I left so that no one in your family would find me, plus my school clothes are at my place so I would've had to leave anyway. Last night was nice ;)
From: Ikuto
Amu blushed about ten shades of red," so it wasn't a dream…." Her voice faded, reading over the piece of paper again and again and again. She sighed and put it down, deciding to just get up and get ready for school.
….
After getting dressed and eating breakfast, Amu, Ami and Kukai headed off to school.
Amu was tired, and embarrassed. She didn't know what type of face to make in front of Ikuto; he had gained a lot of her trust in their time in her room…..
Okay, that totally sounds like they did something naughty in her room. Amu's face started to turn red, naughty thoughts entering her mind of what could've happened.
Suddenly, Amu felt something wet on her upper lip, she put her hand to it and find, red?
OH, MY, GOSH! Her nose was bleeding!
"Bad Amu! No thinking like that, stop it, stop it….." Amu quickly wiped the blood away with her sleeve. She'd have to wash that off before anyone noticed it.
….
The rest of the walk to school was spent in trying to keep a calm mind, far away from naughty things.
By the time she got to school, everything Amu had thought of before was gone from her mind. It didn't even return when she saw Ikuto.
She went to class with him and everything felt normal, well, and as normal as it can feel when you just secretly spent a night with a really hot boy…..
"Stop it Amu!" she screamed in her mind, trying to keep herself under control.
"Hello class!" the teacher said, happily.
"Today we have a transfer student with us, come in please." The door to the classroom opened and a petite girl walked in.
She had dusty blonde hair and pale skin with golden brown eyes. Her hair was wavy falling down to her behind like a waterfall. She wore a black sweater for her uniform top with a bow instead of a tie. She had on white leggings with black dress shoes.
Overall, she was adorable.
"Hello, I'm Mashiro Rima." She said her face void of emotion.
Realme: I think it sucks…. If you don't think so then tell me, tell me if you do think it does. I rushed the last bit and I'm sorry, I'm trying my best here with trying to write six completely different stories at one time! Hope people liked it . Until next time :D
