Hello my Precious Pumpkins. I know it has been forever since I updated this story. I apologize. I moved over 1200 miles and I am still in the process of unpacking my house. So please forgive me.
For those waiting on "A Breath of Fresh Air," it's coming. The broken computer should be fixed this weekend. Hoping to have the chapter up by the end of weekend, since it's about half done. It's worth the wait. Trust me you'll need some fluff after the ending on this chapter.
Be on the lookout for our favorite "Dr. McDreamy" also. Not sure when but hopefully during the following week. Maybe sooner if the other computer does not get fixed.
So have your tissues ready and enjoy. Leave me pumpkin seeds cuz they make me smile. ;-)

Chapter 7: "Every Breath, Every Hour Has Come To This"
Fitz whipped around and saw Mellie standing there and he could feel the blood begin to boil in his veins. She had this devilish smile on her face, basically telling him that she was the cause of more pain between Olivia and himself. It made him realize that he had to do what was ever necessary for getting out of this marriage so him and Olivia could finally be together.
If she was not pregnant, he probably would have come across the room at her. He knew her motivation for getting Edison Davis out of jail. It was not only to hurt Olivia but most of all it was to hurt and get back at him. But what bothered him even more, why how she found out about the incident to begin with.
"Honey," she asked him, walking towards him, "aren't you happy that I helped the Senator out. I figured it would be the noble thing to do. After all I am the First Lady, and helping out a Democratic Senator, in his time of need does look good on our part, don't' you think so, Honey."
"Tom, would you please escort the Senator Davis out of this room so I can have a word with Mellie alone." Fitz said to Tom.
"Yes Sir, it would be my pleasure. Do you want me to tell the DA anything Sir." Tom asked, knowing that Davis did just take a swing at him.
"Just inform who you think should know of the situation. I'll let the authorities take it from there." Fitz said to him.
"Yes Sir," Tom said.
Edison began to walk by Mellie. "Thank you for all your help Mrs. Grant."
Mellie looked at Edison and said, "It was my pleasure Senator. I'll be sure to tell Olivia that I helped you get out of jail." She then side-looked and saw the vein in Fitz's forehead begin to throb.
Edison then smiled at her and was escorted out of the room. Fitz then motioned for the agents to leave the room. By the time the room was clear, it was just him and his wife standing there staring at each other. Mellie stood there with her hands over her stomach, rubbing it up and down.
He motioned for her to take a seat and surprisingly so, she did. Fitz then sat across from her. It was staring contest and battles of wills who was going to talk first. Fitz sat back and stretched his arms out over the back of the chair. There was no way, despite how much he wanted to scream and yell at his wife right now, would he give her the satisfaction. Well not yet anyway.
She fixed her shirt and made sure it looked "wrinkle free" over her belly. She did not sit back in the chair, and continued to stare at husband, who leisurely sat across from her. She thought he would be screaming at her right now. But he just sat there looking at her with this dumb look on his face.
To make her squirm even more, he took out his cell phone and began to play a game of "Candy Crush." He was stuck on a level and now seemed like the perfect time to see if he could finally beat it. Mellie could not believe what she was seeing. She figured he would be mad as hell at her. Instead he sat across from her, with not a care in the world, playing a stupid 'highly addicting' game in his cell phone.
"Fitz," she finally said to him.
"Yes Mellie," he answered her, flatly.
"Don't you have anything to say to me?" Mellie asked fairly sweetly.
"Nope," Fitz said. "Not really."
"Fitz," Mellie said to him, hoping to get some rise of out him.
"Yes Honey," Fitz said back, still playing 'Candy Crush.' "I'm a little busy Mel, so hurry up and say what you have to say, so I can back to saving the world one Candy Crush Level at a time."
"Fitzgerald," Mellie finally boomed at him, "aren't you upset?"
"Upset, at what Mel? What do you think I am mad at you for now?" Fitz did not look up at her wife. He still continued to play. "Ah Dammit!"
"It's about time you get mad at me!"
"Oh sorry Mel, I was not talking to you. I freaking lost this damn level again. These freaking jellies are unbeatable. I freaking can't win. Urgh!" Fitz said putting his phone down, smiling inwardly to himself.
Mellie got up and just about grabbed his phone out of his hand. Fitz saw her move to him and placed it in his pocket. "Fine. If you won't talk to me, then I am out of here."
"Sit. Down. Mellie!" Fitz finally raised his voice to her and she sat back down.
Mellie looked over at Fitz, who was now staring at her. He composed himself and said her, "Why did you do this?"
"Because, he needed to see her? The Senator loves her Fitz."
"Edison needed to see Olivia, why?"
"Well they are engaged honey. The Senator is not a violent man. Why would he hurt the woman he is going to marry? Now Fitz, that makes no sense." Mellie said to him, flashing an evil smile.
"How did you know he asked Olivia to marry him?"
"I heard the doctors and nurses talking on the way up here. That's all Fitz."
"Ah huh. You really think I am going to buy that one. How did you find out Edison was in jail? How did he get into Olivia's room before anyone else? How did you know she was hurt?"
"Lots of questions, Fitzgerald."
"Yes a lot of questions Mellie. Now answer them. How did you find out all these things?"
Mellie sat back in the chair and readjusted herself. "I am the First Lady of the United States of America. I always see that I am informed. I heard the doctors and nurses talking about Olivia and Edison's engagement. I found out she got hurt from Hal. I guess he overheard some of the other agents talking, which is how I found out Edison was going to jail."
Fitz was not too shocked about Hal. He knew he always he a soft spot for his wife. Fitz then asked, "So, how did he get here before me?"
"Fitz, you are the President of the United States, it takes a heck of a lot longer to get you ready to go anywhere with all the cars then it does for the Senator."
"Yes but he was taken into custody at Olivia's house. He is supposed to be in jail. Why did you bail him out of jail?"
"Because, he loves Olivia, Fitz. They belong together. He could not have hurt her."
"Well you know what he did Mel. He pushed her through a glass coffee table. Tom was with her when it happened. He witnessed it. So your "help" in this situation has done nothing but caused more problems. When the press finds out about this, they are going to have a field day with you."
Mellie sat there in shock. "He really hurt her."
"Yes Mel he did. I know you hate Olivia. I get that and I understand it. But why would you get him out of jail? Oh besides the fact to hurt me. That man does not love Olivia. All he wants to do is use her to hurt me. He is out to get me."
"I bailed him out of jail, because he is a United States Senator and the head of the Democratic party. It would look good on our part to help him out. If they are engaged Fitz, why would she not tell you?"
Fitz thought about his next answer, "I don't know Mel. But I know this for sure. Olivia is not marrying Edison. Especially, not after what he did to her."
Mellie just glared at him. "You seriously think you can stop them from getting married if she wants to marry him. Are you that crazy?"
"Yes Mel I am. Now I need to go and check on Olivia."
"Oh yes your precious Olivia can't survive without you coddling her for too long. Or is it you that can't make it without her."
"Mel if I were you, I would leave here before both of us say something we are going to regret. Stay clear of Olivia and stay away from me. Next time I see you I want those divorce papers signed, sealed and delivered. Nothing will be finalized till after the baby is born."
"Fitz I told you I am NOT signing those papers." Mellie sneered at him and stood up to leave the room.
Fitz got in front of her and stopped her at the door. "You are signing those papers Mel or I will make sure EVERYONE in Washington knows who you were screwing during the campaign and after we got into the White House."
"You wouldn't."
"Try me Mel. I am sure that is information you wouldn't want leaked out to the press. That would just be so detrimental to any hopes of you entering politics."
"You don't have enough proof to do that Fitz." She was trying to see how much info on her affair he did have. But if she knew Fitz he was not going to let all his cards out on the table.
"Oh don't worry honey. I have enough to bury you. I want this over. I meant what I said. Thirty six hours or holy hell is going to break loose for you, and your hot headed, big mouthed lover."
Mellie just stood there and stared at him. She did not know what to say. She did not want this information leaked out, nor did she want to lose another man in her life that was powerful also. She walked out of the room, leaving Fitz there staring at her as she waddled off.
Fitz stood there, and then walked out of the room to see Olivia. He got to her window and saw Tom in her room with her. They looked like they were talking about something important, and despite how much he wanted to go in there with her, he decided to sit in the waiting room with her team.
/
The POTUS vs. The Gladiators
Fitz walked into the waiting area and saw Abby, Harrison, and Quinn. He sat down and for a few moments no one said anything to each other. Fitz looked at them and they all stared at him.
Quinn then asked, "Sir, do you need anything," in an attempt to break the ice.
"No, I am, Miss…." Fitz tried to find out who she was.
"Oh my name is Quinn, Mr. President. It's a pleasure to meet you." Quinn said to him, shaking his hand.
"Oh Quinn, cut the crap," sneered Abby. "He knows that WE know he's been screwing around on his wife with Olivia. God I hate republicans. Such a bunch of bull shitters!"
"Abby!" Harrison yelled at her. "Filter!. This man is the President."
Abby looked at Fitz and without missing a beat said, "I don't care who the hell he is. He's the reason why Liv is hurt. Why Liv has been miserable for the last two years. And why she left the white house. At least she can say she had sex on the resolute desk before she left though. Too bad you can't put that in your memoirs."
"Abigail," Harrison nudged her, "enough. Leave the poor guy alone."
"No! I will not leave him alone. What's he going to do throw me in jail for speaking my mind? It's called 'Free Speech' Harrison he can't. I'd freaking slap him but I know his goon squad would throw me in jail."
"Abby that is enough, leave him alone." Harrison told her as he saw her eyes roll back in her head.
"It's okay," Fitz said looking at all of them, "she's right I have put Olivia through hell. She did leave the White House because of me. For the record, I love Olivia with all my heart. She's…" Fitz tried to say but Abby spoke up again.
"What the love of your life, please! I don't want to hear it. All you married politicians are the same. You want your cake and to eat something sweeter on the side." Abby got up and walked passed him and almost out of the room.
"Sit down Abby." Harrison said.
"No!"
"Abigail Whelan sit the frack down now." Harrison told her.
"I said no Harrison. I don't have to be in the same room with HIM if I don't want to be. There is nothing he can say that is going to make me like him at the moment. He put Olivia through hell. I am not just going to roll over, shake his hand, and pretend everything is forgiven because he SAYS he loves Liv. Not going to happen."
Quinn then got up. She went up and grabbed Abby by the arm, startling her and made her sit down. Fitz just watched with Harrison not saying a word.
"Abby you are going to sit here and listen to what the President has to say to all of us. He has the right. If he didn't love Olivia then he would not be here. Two, you are going to show him some respect. If not, then I'll personally drag you out of here by your hair, bring you to Liv, and you can have it out with her about it." Quinn then sat her down and Abby was so stunned that she did not say anything.
"Mr. President, the floor is yours." Quinn told Fitz.
"Okay ask me your questions." Fitz said. "I am ready."
For the next 30 minutes the team asked Fitz every question they could possibly think of about his relationship with Olivia. Abby only asked a few but she watched his body language, listened to his voice, and attempted to be nice about it. But no matter how hard she tried she was still upset.
Abby finally asked him, "So you love her? She's not just some booty call to you then."
Fitz looked Abby right in the eye. "Yes I love Olivia with all my heart. I am planning on divorcing Mellie, so her and I can be together. I want to marry her, and move her into the White House with me. It's where she belongs."
"Mr. President," Harrison spoke up, not really believing what he heard, "that is your endgame? To marry our boss and make her First Lady."
"Yes if she'll have me. I have some good dirt on Mellie. I served her the divorce papers earlier today and she has 36 hours to comply. If you would like a copy Miss Whelan for proof of my intentions towards your boss, I can get it for you. My intentions for Olivia are honorable. I love her and I am going to make her my wife." Fitz told her with much conviction in his voice.
Abby just looked at him, not sure whether to believe him or not. She was about to say something to him when Quinn told her to quit it.
"But," Abby tried to say.
"No buts Abby, leave him alone." Quinn told her again.
"Fine. Whatever! I still don't like him. But I'll put up with him for now." Abby sneered at Fitz, and crossed her arms.
Fitz was about to say something else when Tom entered the room. "Excuse me Sir, but Miss Pope is asking her team. She wants to see them a few moments before visiting hours are over. Then she says she's all yours."
"Thank you Tom." Fitz said.
Abby was about to say something to him, but Harrison basically dragged her out of the room.
Fitz sat back and hit his head against the wall. Tom sat next to him, and asked, "The red head got to you didn't she Sir?"
"What, oh yes, Tom she did. Lord she ripped me a new one from all directions. God I was actually a little scared there for a few moments. Geez I wonder if she is like that all the time?" Fitz asked him.
"From what I've seen yes. She's very protective of Miss Pope. Miss Pope saved her a while back from an abusive husband. They have been best friends for a long time. There is nothing that Miss Whelan wouldn't do to protect her best friend from getting hurt. That includes being with you."
"So in other words, I better be on my best behavior or she won't let me in that room to be with her."
"Pretty much Sir." Tom told him.
"And what do you think?" Fitz asked Tom. "Do you think any of this is my fault?"
Tom sat next to his boss. He thought about his next answer. "Mr. President, none of this is your fault. It is not your fault what happened to Miss Pope tonight. You thought the Senator would be at her home, which is why you sent me and a team of agents to go with her. The Senator is crazy, and who knew that he would hurt Miss Pope. She's just had a really rough day."
"Tom that the understatement of the future." Fitz told him, smiling slightly.
"Sir, one of the other agents is going to come in and guard you. I have an errand to run for Miss Pope, if that is okay."
Fitz sat back and looked at Tom. "An errand? What kind of errand?"
Tom flushed a little bit and said, "well she said that because I saved her life tonight, that I am her newest gladiator. She asked me to go back to her apartment and make sure the CSI's did not miss anything and grab her a few things. I won't be gone long. Mitch is going to take my place until I get back. Is that okay Sir?" Tom asked Fitz, hoping that he would not ask to many questions.
"Yes Tom, that is fine."
"Thank you Mr. President." Tom got up and started to leave.
"Tom," Fitz said and he stopped and turned around. "Thank you for keeping her safe for me. If something would have happened to her, I am not sure what I would have done."
Tom smiled and then exited the room. Fitz sat back and attempted to relax but he knew he wouldn't be able to until she was back in his arms again.
/
30 Minutes later…
Olivia was in her room talking with Huck. He told her that he did not find out who was working with Edison but the computers at the office were all processing the latest data servers. There was just so much to go through and they had to be 100 percent positive they found out who he was working with.
"It going to be a while Liv," he told her, "Tom's connections are helping but the computer's hardware can only process things so fast."
"It's okay Huck. As long as it gets done before the time limit he gave me to answer his proposal." Olivia told him.
"How long was that?"
Olivia told him and he told her. "Don't worry, if there is nothing there when I get back to the office, I will have Tom come back with me to help out. He's on his way to your apartment now to get those files."
"If not, you aren't going to marry the ass are you?"
"Lord no. Fitz would never survive and neither would I. I have a plan don't worry. I am going to need your help just in case this does not work. Thank you Huck." She said as she reached out her hand for him to take.
Huck squeezed it and nodded. He then saw Abby, Quinn and Harrison coming to see her finally. They all sat down with her and talked about her relationship with Fitz. Abby most of all was pissed off to high heaven and was not even attempting to listen to what she had to say.
Olivia was in no mood for her antics and told her, "Look Abigail I don't care what you think about Fitz and I. All that matters to me, is that you all know that I love him."
"Well good for you Liv. You finally fell in love but it's with the wrong guy." Abby basically yelled at her.
"Abby you know what you don't get to yell at me over Fitz. You don't. I am your gladiator and I will continue to be no matter what. You yelled in my face once about us all going over a cliff for each other. That you would gladly go over a cliff for me. Now that you find out something about me you don't like, you get to judge me. I don't think so." Olivia sneered at her.
Fitz could hear some yelling from across the hall. He got up and could see Olivia and Abby in her room. Both their voices were elevated. He leaned against the door frame and Olivia saw him. She smiled at him and looked back at her team and Abby.
"Liv, it's just you had this major secret and you didn't tell any of us anything. Why?" Harrison asked her. "I understand where she is coming from. I am upset to Liv. We're on your side. We have your back. Why didn't you tell us?"
"Because what am I supposed to do, say, oh yah guys I've been involved with a married man, who just happens to be the Leader of the Free World. That would have gone over really well don't you think. I am your gladiator. And I never, not once claimed to be perfect." Olivia told them all. Huck stood in the background and did not say anything.
Harrison turned to him and asked, "You knew from the beginning didn't you."
Huck nodded his head. "The President is not using Olivia. He loves her with ever fiber of his being. I am happy that they in spite of everything have found each other. There is not one thing that he wouldn't do to see that she is safe. He almost gave up the presidency last year for her."
Fitz heard Huck from the hall and wondered how he knew that. Olivia asked him how he knew. "I remember when the Amanda Tanner sex tape came out. I knew it was you and the President. I saw you in your office and knew that you didn't know what to do about it. Stephen went in to talk to you and that is what you left him again. He was going to resign then so both of you could finally be together."
Abby turned to her and saw Fitz in the hall way. She walked out there and asked him to come inside. Fitz did so and right away went over to sit with Olivia on her bed. He threw is leg behind her and pulled her straight back into his strong arms. He rested his head on her shoulder and whispered something in her ear to make her smile.
"You almost resigned a year ago didn't you Sir." Abby finally asked him, not sounding as pissed off this time.
"Yes Miss Whelan I did. Olivia wouldn't let me. I love her more than I love my job as President. There is nothing that would not do for her." He squeezed her even tighter and kissed her on the cheek.
"Why didn't you let him Liv?" Harrison asked.
"Because, being normal is overrated Harrison. If Fitz left office, we would never be a normal couple. Even if he did so, which he best not," she pinched him, causing him to make a sound behind her, "is not an option. Fitz was born to be leader. He's the best man for the job and I don't want to be in the way of that."
"You're not Livy." Fitz told her. She turned her head and he kissed her. They did not pull their heads away from each other and just stayed put staring into the other's eyes.
Abby stood there speechless for a few moments. Her team looked at them together because in this moment it was just them. There was no secret service, no gladiators involved, no crazy Edison, just them. They breathed at the same time, and their heart beats matched.
"I love you." Fitz told her in front of everyone.
"I love you too." Olivia told him out loud in front of everyone.
"You really do love him, don't you Liv," Abby said to her.
"Yes Abby, very much. What we have is something very rare. I hope you all find it someday." Olivia told him, letting herself relax more in his arms.
Harrison and looked at everyone and noticed how sleepy Olivia then became. She seemed that she was having a hard time keeping her eyes open. "Look we'll leave you two alone and we'll be back tomorrow."
Both Fitz and Olivia nodded their heads in agreement and each one of team came up and hugged her goodbye. When Abby came up she kissed Olivia and even put her hand out for Fitz to shake. The entire room looked at the other and Fitz took her hand and shook it.
"What," Abby said.
"I thought you hated Republicans." Harrison teased her.
"I do. But since the Leader of the Free World is in love with my best friend, I guess I'll just have to handle it. Right Liv?" Abby said, this time showing a sincere smile.
"Right."
"Mr. President just so we're clear, if you ever hurt her in any way, I'll make sure I borrow one of Huck's drills and make you pay for it." Abby told him.
Huck shook his head in the background, and Fitz said, "Um do I want to know."
Huck told him, "No Sir you don't. But trust me, she's right."
"Okay." Fitz said. Abby, Huck, Harrison and Quinn then said their farewells and left the room. Fitz then went outside and told the agents that no one is to come down to her room unless it's a doctor, nurse, Cyrus or one of her team.

Two Proposals…
He closed her door and made sure her blinds were closed. By the time he had done that, he looked over on the bed and saw his Livy, practically sleeping without him. He stood against the door a few minutes and just watched her.
She was in and out in her sleepy-sate she reached for him but only found his jacket on the chair. Olivia pulled it to herself, took in a huge breath, and pulled it to her chest. He then started to walk over to her and her eyes fluttered open to finally see him standing there, looking down at her.
"What," she said to him. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Like what?" Fitz asked her walking closer to her.
"There is something you want to ask me Fitz, about Edison. So out with it."
He sits down in front of her. She tries to sit up but can't quite do it without his help.
He scoots himself closer to her, ready to pull her into his body, but she stops him.
"You want to know if he really asked me to marry him, don't you?"
"Did he propose?"
"Yes, he did."
"And what did you tell him?" Olivia could hear the hint of sadness in his voice.
"I told him NO and to go to hell." She then reached up and took his face in both her hands. He moved closer to her, and pulled her into his chest.
"I can't lose you to him Livy. I can't lose you to anyone for that matter. You're all I have." Fitz told her. He then placed his head into her neck and wrapped himself around her even tighter.
"You are not going to lose me Fitz. I am not going anywhere okay. The doctors say that I am going to be fine. They are going to do more tests in the morning."
"But why is Edison talking that you both are getting married. It's like he has some lame brain idea that you are going to become his wife. Is he blackmailing you into marrying him?"
Olivia knew that she had to keep herself calm. If Fitz sensed anything, then she would have to come clean about what was in those files. She could not let him find out anything yet. It was not the right time. She had to see to that.
"Livy," Fitz asked her again, sensing she was keeping something from him, "is he blackmailing you?" He took his hand and brushed it against her face.
"Fitz, he's just crazy. He's thinks because he's a Senator and we were once an item, that I'll just take him back and become his wife. He used to be good man. I am not sure what happened."
"Olivia you are dodging the question. What is going on?"
"Look right now I am trying to still figure all that out okay. I don't know. Now I don't want you to worry you curly head of hair about anything. My team is on him, and as soon as we figure out, why he went crazy, I'll make sure you are the first to know. We'll maybe after Cyrus that is."
"Liv," Fitz told her sternly.
"No Fitz. I've got this. Edison is not your problem, he's mine. Now come here and hold me. I need you to go to sleep. I can't sleep without you remember." She pulled him down and kissed him again.
"Livy," he said in his best whiny voice.
"No Mr. President. I am tired. I've had a busy day. Or did you forget about what happened to me in the Oval. Then my low blood sugar, and now a concussion and getting pushed through a table. Or and how can I forget that your crazy wife attacked me too."
"Okay I get it." Fitz then slid his arm underneath her body and pulled close. She rested her head on his chest, and kissed his neck. She heard him sigh and begin to move his hands all over her body. The more he touched her, the more the need for both of them to get closer began to grow.
"Livy," feeling her tongue on his neck.
"Yes," she said in a sexy voice.
"What are you doing?"
"Trying to get you to forget about Edison and everything that happened today. So is it working?" Her fingers were now unbuttoning his shirt. She was still kissing his neck, working her way up to his face.
"Liv?" He began to rub her back up and down, causing her entire body to relax. He started to kiss her neck and then her lips. He ran his fingers through her hair. He felt her breathing begin to change.
"Mr. President," she dropped her voice to a hoarse whisper, getting the reaction she wanted from him.
"Livy," he asked her, in a sweet whisper.
"Hmm" she said to him, in between the kissing and touching.
"Promise me, you'll be mine. Promise me, you'll marry me after I'm free from Mellie."
She stopped and looked at him. "Fitz, you don't have to do this now. I'm okay really. You don't…" but he stopped her.
"Livy," he whimpered at her. "You could have been killed today."
"I know that, But," she tried to tell him, but he stopped her. He placed his fingers over her mouth shush her.
"No. You could have died. I want you to know. You have to know that I want to marry you. I want you to become my wife. I want you to become MY first lady."
"Fitz," she tried to say, but could feel the tears coming out of her eyes. "You don't have to ask me this here. Not like this. This is not how I envisioned a marriage proposal from you. Two marriage proposals in one day, my, my am I popular."
Fitz made a disgruntled face at her then. "Very funny." He then scooted himself down on her bed, so they could look into each other's eyes better. He reached up and caressed her face.
She then opened her eyes more, knowing that he was serious. Fitz was about to say something else to her, when she stopped him.
"No, I don't want you to do this Fitz. Not here. I don't you to be scared of losing me, causing you to ask the one question you been wanting to ask me since we met. There is a time and place for this, and it's not now. When the time is right, you will know. And when you do, it will be perfect. This time, it will be different." Olivia told him.
"My first State of the Union address, I closed with that line. I said it into the camera, to you. You remembered."
"Of course I remember. I wrote it with you. How could I forget."
"So this time, it will be different, huh?" Fitz asked her.
"Yes," she smiled at him, and he knew she was right.
"But how will I know when it is the right time. I feel that I've waited a thousand years for you." He asked her, really unsure of himself. It felt as if, every breath, every hour has come to this. He was feeling as if she could slip away from him at any moment.
"Fitz, even if something happened to me, I would find you. I will always find you and crawl my way back to you. You're the man. You'll just know when it's the right time."
"Is that supposed to make me feel better Livy."
"Yes."
"But what if, something happens to you. What if I lose you?"
"Fitz everything is going to be okay. You were shot and came back to me. I didn't lose you, so you are not going to lose me. No one can take me away okay." She had not seen him this way before, so she knew he was frightened.
He smiled at her. "I love you. Do you have any idea how much?"
"Yes. I love you too." She wrapped her arms around him and pulled herself into his chest. She then began to use her hands on his back and move them up and down. She tried to use her fingers to push into his back muscles to relax him, but because he was so "buff" it was hard.
He then reached down and covered them both up. She noticed that his breathing relaxed more as did hers. She looked up at him and he had finally fallen asleep. Olivia then placed her head in between his well formed chest muscles. She breathed in his aroma and pulled herself even closer to him.
"Fitz, I love you don't ever forget that." She knew that he heard her even in his sleep. He sighed deeply and felt him kiss the top of her head. She then closed her eyes and fell asleep herself. This was the place she was meant to be and was going to do everything in her power to keep him and everyone safe she loved.
/
Next Morning…
Fitz woke up the next morning to see Olivia still fast asleep in his arms. They had not moved very much during the night. It was about 6:00 A.M. and he knew he would have to leave her soon to go back to the White House. He began to dose off again when he heard a knock on the door.
He looked and saw Cyrus come into the room. It was still a little dark, but he could tell he had something with him. "Hey Cy," he whispered.
"Sir, how is she?" Cy whispered back to him.
"Still sleeping but I am hoping okay. What do you have for me?"
"Besides a new change of clothes," Cyrus stopped himself.
"What is it Cy," they were still whispering.
"How about you let her go and we go talk over there?" Cy told him, then rolling his eyes. He saw Fitz roll his eyes and begrudgingly got off the bed. Olivia nuzzled herself into the pillow he was using, and stayed sleeping.
"Okay Cy, now that you had me move, what is going on?" Fitz asked him, trying not to raise his voice. They were on the opposite side of the room.
"It's Mellie, Sir."
"Oh God now what," Fitz answered, rolling his eyes, "did the 'Dark Lord," come and take her away or something?"
"Sir, the 'Dark Lord?"
"Yes Cyrus, you know Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter." Fitz answered him, trying not to laugh.
"So that's what we're calling HIM now. Does it look like it to you Sir that I have time to read Harry Potter? I am trying to run the country, make your divorce happen, and make sure you don't get caught stealing the car to go make out with your girlfriend. Oh and plus you have your Death Eater wife, driving me bonkers too."
Before Fitz could answer, they both heard, "Cyrus Rutherford Beene, that is awful. And stop pacing, you are making me dizzy" they heard out of Olivia.
"Livy." Fitz said, already walking back to her.
"Liv," said Cyrus, walking to the other side of the bed. He sat down first and pulled her into a hug. He looked at Fitz, who looked like someone just stole his favorite toy away from him.
"Now Cy that was not nice. You stole Fitz's seat," poking him in his side.
"Oh well. Big baby President will have to get over it." Cy said to him, busting his chops.
"Cyrus!" Fitz and Olivia said at the same time.
"Can I have my seat back?" Fitz said, wanting to be holding Olivia again.
"No, you got to cuddle her and make out most of the night. So right now, she's mine. So deal with it."
"Cyrus, please." Olivia asked him, but it only made Cy hold onto her even tighter. "God I've never seen you two act this way."
"Liv we almost lost you yesterday, not once, but twice. Okay three times. So don't mind us if we are just a tad overprotective right now. Neither one of us is prepared for that." Cyrus told her. Fitz was now sitting in front of her on the bed.
'Okay Cy, I'll tell you what I told Fitz. I am fine. I am not going anywhere. Okay, Kiddo."
"Aren't I supposed to call you that?" Cy asked her.
"Yes but I think I caught up to you in the mileage department yesterday." Olivia said to both of them. "What's up with Mellie Cy?"
"He's there Sir."
"Who's there, the Dark Lord?" Fitz was trying to make light of the situation.
"Very funny Mr. President. You KNOW who I mean?" Cyrus eyed him, making an odd hang gesture and changing his voice intonation.
"Liv, sweetheart I have to go. There is something I have to take care of concerning Mellie and the divorce. Are you sure you're okay?" Fitz asked her.
"Yes I am good. Just still really tired and I think I need something with sugar. Cy can you ask the nurses for me. I can feel myself getting weak again."
"Sure Liv. Mr. President I'll let you get ready and when I come back we can head out." Cy told him. He kissed Olivia and was out the door.
Fitz then walked into the bathroom and changed to head back to the White House. He came out in a dark blue pin striped suit. White dress shirt, with light blue stripes, and a tie that matched. Olivia smiled at him. She motioned for him to come and sit in front of her on her bed.
Fitz sat down and she immediately undid his tie. "Livy," he told her, "my tie was fine."
"Shh," she told him. "now listen. I have something for you." She then reached over and pulled something out of her purse. It was a medallion of St. Jude. He gasped for air, not believing that she was giving this to him.
"Livy, I can't take this from you. I can't accept this. This is too much. I know what this medal means to you." Fitz told her.
She motioned for him to lean forward, and she reached her hands around his neck and clasped the necklace around him. She tucked it into his shirt and fixed his tie so no one knew the medallion was there, but them. He was about to say something else to her but she stopped him.
"I Olivia, take you Fitzgerald Thomas Grant to be my best friend, my lover, and one day my husband." Fitz looked at her in shock.
"I promise support you in any decision you make, and be there to cheer you on, raise you up, and give you a good kick in the pants when needed." Fitz smiled this time.
"But most of all Fitz, I promise to love you till the end of my days, till death do us part. This is my solemn vow." Olivia finished and knew she left him speechless.
"Livy, are you okay?" Fit asked her sensing something was up.
She nodded. "I wanted to say those things to you before you left so you knew that no matter what happens Fitz, that I love you and that you will ALWAYS have me. I wanted you to have St. Jude to guide you and keep you safe. I know it was my grandfather's and we both know how much I loved him. He'll watch over you for me, when I can't be with you. Just know that every breath, and every hour that I am not with you, you have me."
Olivia leaned forward and let Fitz engulf her in his arms. He knew something was wrong but he had to go deal with Mellie.
"Olivia don't you dare leave me." Fitz told her. He could feel as if she was slipping away before his eyes, and there was nothing he could do to stop it from happening. "I am going to divorce Mellie, and move you into the White House with me. You believe me right?"
"Yes," she said back to him.
"Don't you go anywhere okay? I have to go." Fitz told her in her ear.
"I am not going anywhere. Plus there's no Dr. McDreamy here to go in an on-call room with and make out with. Not when I have my own handsome President to do that with instead. Now go." She told him sadly as Cyrus entered the room again. He could see it in her eyes that something was wrong.
"Liv I know you. Are you okay?"
"Yes the doctors are coming in soon to see me. I'll see you soon. Now go. I'll be waiting for you. Cy, take care of him." Olivia said to Cyrus.
Just then Tom came into the room. "Sir it's time." He gave Olivia a look and she knew that he retrieved the files from her place. Before Fitz left the room and ran back to her and kissed and hugged her again.
"I love you Livy."
"I love you too Fitz. Now go be the man I voted for." She told him with a smile.
He just about made it to the door when he heard her say, "Wait for me Fitz."
He stopped and went back and kissed her soundly one more time. "Just remember who asked that question first. I'll always wait for you Livy."
"Good. Now go Mister. I don't need you anymore." Olivia told him.
Fitz then walked out the door. "Tom hold on" Olivia uttered.
Fitz heard her and told him, to go ahead. "Yes Ma'am. I took care of everything." Tom then looked up and saw that Fitz was already at the elevator.
"You sure," Olivia asked him.
"Yes Ma'am. Huck already copied the files and I have the originals locked away. Huck also made me thumb drive."
"Thank you Tom. Take care of him, and Cy for me okay." Olivia uttered.
"Miss Pope, are you okay?" Tom sensed something was out of sorts.
"Yes. Just tired still I guess. The doctor should be in soon."
"I'll see if the doctor can come in sooner rather than later. When do I show the President this information? Do I wait for Huck or does he see this first?"
"Tom you will know when the time is right. We still don't know who is helping Edison out. So wait till you have that information, then you can bring it to Fitz's attention. Please give this to him for also." She handed him something else.
"Ma'am," was all Tom said. "The President, loves you very much. I'll stay by his side no matter what."
"I know. Tom, thank you. For everything. "
He nodded and was out the door. Olivia then closed her eyes for a few moments and waited for the doctor to come in examine her.

Every Breath, Every Hour has Come to This…
Fitz made it back to the White House without too much of an issue. He went up to the residence to check on a few things, then went off to see Mellie. Cyrus told him that 'the Dark Lord' was there and this would be an encounter for the record books.
With Cyrus and the agents by his side, he went to Mellie's section of the White House where she had been placed. He had to end this morning and get his life back. He felt as if every breath he has taken lately, was leading up to being with Olivia. Every Hour that has ticked by has come to this moment.
He took a pause at the door before going inside. He heard Mellie and her lover fighting. He was guessing that she showed him the file Fitz had given her on their relationship. Cyrus and Fitz stood outside the a few moments listening to the argument. Each was blaming the other for their mistakes.
"This is not my fault," said the man, in an unmistakable voice, Fitz would know anywhere.
"Well it's sure the hell isn't mine," Mellie was about to say the man's name was Fitz walked in.
"Oh honey there you are. Look who paid me a visit this morning." Mellie said to Fitz.
Fitz looked from Mellie and the gentleman before him. He placed is hands in his pockets and just stared at him, showing no emotion. Cyrus stood in the back ground and just watched and waited for Fitz to do whatever he was going to do.
"Mr. President. How nice to see you again. It has been a while." The man said to him, not moving from his place.
"Fitz dear, aren't you going to say anything?" Mellie said to him, attempting to calm this down.
The tension in the room was growing. He looked from Cyrus who had this uncanny smirk on his face. Tom was doing his best to hold back a laugh. Mellie and her lover were looking paler by the moment.
Fitz finally said, "So Hollis, how long have you been screwing my wife. Not that I care. I just want to know if the baby is mine or his Mel." Fitz said.
"Fitz, the baby is yours. Hollis got snipped a long time ago." Mellie told him.
Fitz looked Hollis, who then got out. "Yes Sir. I became 'Captain Clear Coat' after my last child was born. There ain't gonna be no more babies for me. I am firing nothing but blanks."
Cyrus and Tom actually broke out laughing in the back of the room at that comment.
"Is that so," Fitz said.
"Yes," Hollis said. "We stopped seeing each other after you first year in office. She told me that you were working on your marriage."
"Is that so," Fitz said. He then threw more recent pictures down of the two of them together right after he was shot. Hollis and Mellie looked at each other in shock and then at Fitz, who just smiled.
"You help get me into this office. You fund my campaign. And then you start SCREWING MY WIFE!" Fitz boomed.
Mellie backed up. She then sat down and didn't know what to say. She finally uttered, "Fitz, he went after me. He figured if he had me in his pants, then he could steer your administration to do his bidding."
"I did not tell you that you crazy woman." Hollis told Mellie.
Mellie stood up. "Yes you did. You told me that you wanted power. You wanted to get into my pants, so we could benefit each other. You knew Fitz and I were not sleeping together anymore. You worked your Texas Charms so you could in a sense get into Fitz's pants."
"As nice as this all is to know," Fitz said, "I have a country to run. So Mellie, sign the damn papers, and get out. NOW! Hollis you can leave and don't ever set foot in my presence again."
Hollis then made a hasty exit, leaving Mellie standing there. Fitz then said to her. "Mellie you and I are going to divorce. This ends now. You are going to move into Blair House until the baby is born. Six weeks later, you are going to move back to Santa Barbara. I will not speak of you poorly in public and will help you gain any office you decide to run for. You will not contact me, unless it is pertaining to the children."
Mellie nodded. "Give me a pen."
Cyrus handed her the pen and she signed the papers. She handed them to Fitz, who in turn gave them to Cyrus. "Cy, you know what to do."
Cy was about to leave the room, but stopped when he saw Tom's face turn white.
"Tom what is it?" Cyrus asked him. Fitz then turned around.
"I am not sure Sir, but I got word from the hospital. You and Mr. Beene need to head back there immediately."
Fitz started to panic. Mellie got up off the couch. "Fitz what's going on," she asked him.
"I don't know. Tom what's going on?" Fitz asked Tom. Mellie came up and grabbed Fitz by the end and squeezed it. Fitz was so freaked out, that he didn't realize that she was doing it, until he looked down at her.
"I don't know Sir. They wouldn't say. Her team, Mr. Beene and you must get back there." Tom reiterated again.
"Mel, thank you," Fitz turning to her, "I have to go."
"I am coming with you." Mellie told him. Fitz was about to object but gave in.
Tom then ushered everyone out the door and they hit the hospital in record time. They saw her team in tears, as they all approached. Abby was screaming at the doctors. Harrison was trying to hold her back.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW! WHY THE HELL NOT! HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED?" Abby yelled. She saw Fitz coming down the hallway and stood there watching him with tears in her eyes.
This only made Fitz run faster. Cyrus and Mellie were right behind him. He made it to Olivia's room and she was not in there.
"Where is she? Where is Olivia?" Fitz boomed. He felt every breath he had taken in the hour leave his body all at once. Everything he had done had lead him to the moment Mellie signed the papers.
He looked at the doctor who was standing there and screamed. "You tell me where she is right now!"
The resident on the case, who not expecting to meet the President of the United States stood there for minute in shock. She then gathered her thoughts and said, "I am sorry Sir. She was taken into emergency surgery. The doctors could not wake her and…."

HOLY FITZ and drop the freaking mic! Yes I just did that to you all. I know it has been literally "A 1000 years" since I updated this last, and I wanted this to be worthy of "pumpkin seeds." But after that ending I am not sure if you all still love me.
I could tell you what I am going to do next, but then it would ruin it for you. Please stick by my side, and keep reading. #What'sInTheFiles comes out in the next chapter and who's #PullingPuddingPuke's strings too. Trust me you want to stick around for that.
And I know you want to know the outcome of Olivia's fate. What is wrong with her? Is it serious? Will she survive? Will she wake up? I only know those answers, and if you want to also, keep reading.
Thank you so much and I can't wait for the season premiere in THREE WEEKS! EEEKKKK!
Leave me Pumpkin Spice Lattes and more.
