Hey guys. I'm so sorry I haven't updated in so long I just had no ideas of what to write, but now I'm back.
Thanks for all the reviews! To answers Greygirl2358's question, no Clary is not being born early. But I will be getting to the birth soon.
Disclaimer: I don't own TMI or TID all rights goes to Cassandra Clare.
Chapter 7: Preparing.
(Sorry for the crappy chapter name!)
*JOCELYN'S P.O.V.*
"Is everything alright?" I ask Magnus, as he takes his hands of my bump.
"Yes, it's nothing serious, thankfully. You just have high blood pressure, which can cause stomach cramping. It doesn't put you or the baby at any risk so long as it doesn't get too high. It's quiet common. As long as you don't do anything stressful it should go back down to normal within a few weeks." Magnus says. I sigh in relief and loosen my grip on Luke's hand. I was terrified something was seriously wrong with Clary.
"Thank the angel." Luke quietly says.
"So I don't need to take any potions or medication?" I ask.
"No, your blood pressure wasn't dangerously high so it should go back down on its own, but if it gets any higher you will need to take a potion. But like I said if you don't do anything stressful you should be fine." Magnus says. I nod, beyond relived that Clary is fine.
*1 month later*
I'm now well into my sixth month and Luke and I are really preparing for Clary's birth. I've decided to have a normal birth in a hospital, instead of a home birth like I had with Jonathan. Luke is going to be by my side the entire time, no matter what. Magnus and Tessa have offered to look after Jonathan while I'm in labour and then bring him to the hospital to meet Clary, a few hours later. I can't wait to meet Clary, my perfect little girl. And I really can't wait to see what she looks like. I really, really, hope she has Luke's eyes.
Everybody is so looking forward to Clary's birth. Luke is becoming quiet anxious about being a father, but I know he has no need to be. He's amazing with Jonathan who isn't even his biological son, so he'll be even more amazing with Clary, who is his biological daughter.
I smile to myself as I stand in Clary's nursery, looking around. It's still as perfect as it was the night Luke proposed to me.
I suddenly feel a familiar pair of warm, strong arms wrap around my waist from behind.
"Hey." Luke whispers, resting his hands on my bump.
"Hey." I say, resting my hands on top of his.
"What are you thinking about?" He asks.
"Clary, you, the night you proposed to me." I whisper. I can tell Luke is smiling when he says.
"I was so scared that night; I honestly thought you were going to say no." He says. I don't know how he could possibly think I would say no to him, I love him so much. I don't know how I thought Valentine was the one for me; it's obvious it's Luke. There's only one good thing I got form Valentine, and that's Jonathan.
I turn around in Luke's arms and softly kiss him.
"I would never say no to you. You are the one for me. I have no idea how I didn't see it before, but now I do, and you have given me the most amazing gift you could possibly give me. You gave me our daughter." I whisper, rubbing my bump.
Luke smiles and places both his hands on my bump.
"Technically you're the one giving me the greatest gift. You've carried her for 6 months and in 3 months you'll give birth to her. You even wanted me to raise her as my own, before we knew she was mine." He says. I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant with Clary. I didn't think Valentine wanted another baby, and I was so scared that if he found out he would do something awful. I could tell he was close to doing something- I don't know what- but something to Jonathan. He was pushing him too far with his training. So I'm glad we left when we did, because I don't know what Valentine would have done had he found out about Clary.
"She's our gift." I whisper. Luke smiles and kisses me.
"I was thinking about our wedding, and I think we should make some decisions about it." Luke says. That's right; we've been engaged for over a month now and haven't made any decisions about the wedding.
"Well, it's obviously going to be a small wedding. I think the only people we'll be inviting are Magnus, Tessa, Maryse and Robert and little Alec and Isabelle." I say. Luke nods in agreement.
"We're obviously going to have a mundane wedding, right?" Luke asks. I nod.
"Yes. I think we should have the wedding somewhere small, since there'll only be 7 people there." I say. Luke nods in agreement.
"Should we get married before or after Clary's born?" Luke asks. Good question. I think about it for while.
"I think after, because it will take another few months to organise everything and by then I'll be due any day, and we don't want my waters breaking right in the middle of our wedding." I say. Luke laughs quietly.
"Yes, that would be quiet disastrous. I like the idea of having the wedding after Clary's born. I'm sure Magnus or Tessa would more than happy to look after her during the ceremony." He says. I know Magnus would be more than happy to look after Clary for any amount of time. He loves her so much already; he's going to be amazing with her.
"Yes, I know Magnus would be more than happy to look after her." I say.
"So we'll get married a few months after Clary's born?" Luke asks. I nod. "Sounds perfect." He says.
About an hour later we've made most of the decisions about our wedding.
Now, as I sit in our bedroom reading, I feel a strong wave of nausea wash over me. I drop my book and rush into the bathroom, making it just in time. I haven't been sick since I was 3 months pregnant.
I hear padded footsteps and feel a soft warm hand rubbing soft comforting circles on my back. Luke.
I continue to get sick throughout the night, and eventually Magnus and Tessa offer to take Jonathan for a night or two so I can rest. I have never been so thankful for them before.
Now as I lay in bed, almost asleep, in Luke's arms, I hear the phone ringing. I take it off the bedside table and answer it.
"Hello?"I answer tiredly.
"Hello Jocelyn, thought you got away with hiding your little... secret, did you? Well you didn't. I know you're pregnant with my child. I don't know where you are, but soon I will find you and I will get my son and daughter back." Valentine says.
There you go! Big cliffy! Hope you enjoy! Net update at 29 reviews.
