Author's Note: This story started out based on real people. As the story has progressed it is more an alternate universe 'what if' scenario so I may incorporate some aspects of real life things that happened but overall it is now purely fiction and all of my own imagination…

"Chocolate chip pancakes…mmm…" Stephen murmured as he stacked his plate precariously with pancakes that LC had just finished cooking.
"Don't eat them all. I want some." LC said, looking over her shoulder at him from where she stood next to the refrigerator pouring them both glasses of milk.
"How long have you been up anyway?" Stephen questioned, putting the rest of the pancakes on another plate for LC.
"About an hour. My dad came and woke me up. He wanted to tell me that him and my mom were going into San Francisco for the next couple days. Apparently it was a last minute thing." LC answered, following Stephen to the outside deck so they could sit at the table and eat.
"It's so nice out here. The weather is awesome. By this time Wednesday my finals will be over and done and summer will officially begin." Stephen observed, closing his eyes in anticipation.
"Well my summer has already begun." LC bragged, sticking her tongue out at him.
"You know I was thinking. Why don't you come back with me to San Fran? I mean, like you said, your summer's already started. You could hang out, help me pack and we'd be back by Tuesday night." Stephen cajoled, smiling at her as sweetly as he could.
"Oh no you don't. Don't give me that look. Stephen, I am not going to pack your stuff up for you." LC said, shaking her head at him as he continued to just smile at her.
"Come on LC. Be a pal. I would do it for you." Stephen persuaded, reaching out and wrapping his hand around hers.
"Sure you would." LC retorted, trying to pull her hand away and not succeeding.
"They're having a carnival thing down by the bay. We could go Monday night." Stephen bribed, leaning sideways to catch her gaze.
"Oh fine. You talked me into it." LC gave in, closing her eyes in defeat.
"Great. You're the best." Stephen complimented, releasing her hand so she could continue eating.
"But don't think just because I'm coming that you don't have to pack anything. I'm not your mother." LC stated emphatically.
"Okay. So what are we going to do today?" Stephen asked, changing the subject quickly before LC could change her mind.
"Oh I don't know. You pick. I thought of something yesterday." LC said, the wind blowing her hair across her face.
"We could go play mini-golf. Maybe hit the batting cages." He suggested, watching LC's nose scrunch at the mention of batting.
"You know I always end up getting hit with a random ball when we go." LC accused, as if it was his fault.
"Yeah I don't know how you do it." Stephen said, trying to not laugh at her but failing.
"Go ahead and laugh. See if I don't accidentally hit you with the baseball bat." LC threatened, pointing her finger at him.
"I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing with you." Stephen corrected, noticing that she was grinning now.
"You won't be later." LC said cryptically, gathering her dishes and heading for the kitchen.
