"You look like shit." Reese frowned, earning a glare from the brunette. They were entering the building and Reese kept up with the brunette.

"I didn't get much sleep." Beca deadpanned.

"Why? You were home early. Are you really fine?" The blonde's face was full of worry, checking the condition of the other girl.

"I'm fine."

"That line is old. You don't look fine."

"I just had trouble sleeping. Socializing does that to me." They hurried to catch the elevator.

"Wow. If I didn't think you're so scared of people, I wouldn't believe you." Reese rolled her eyes.

"But seriously Beca, you sure you're alright?" Beca turned to her friend who was looking at her all concerned.

"Don't worry about me Anderson. I just need to fix my sleeping pattern." Beca gave her a smile to relieve her and it seemed to work. They got off the elevator and went to their respective desks, immediately getting to work.

Aubrey's a bit grateful that there are stacks of paper on her desk to get herself preoccupied. Gathering the information that she's in the same building with Beca is a great distraction. She managed to get to work early and keep herself from leaving her office, focusing on the work she had to do. She'll deal with the brunette outside of work.

That is, if she had the chance.

Feeling the pain on her back and neck, she took a break from reading the papers and sat back for a while. She massaged the back of her neck and closed her eyes. She's used to things like this. When you're working in one of the biggest firms in the state, you don't really get to rest that much, especially when you're managing one of the offices.

Aubrey's not complaining though. She wanted this ever since she was studying. Experiencing the status she's in right now is a result of her hard work. But what makes this new for her is the thought that she's so close and yet so far to the one she missed the most. Beca never left her mind since the brunette went away. It's just stronger now that they've met and they have more chances of bumping in to each other.

She opened her eyes and they landed on a photo on top of the drawers nearby. It was a photo of her taken by Beca. The brunette gave her a gift that day and insisted to take a photo of Aubrey.

Beca sat across her friend and handed her a glossy paper bag. The blonde was confused.

"What's this?"

"Open it."

"Is it a gift for me? My birthday's not anytime soon." Her brows furrowed.

"I know. Just open it, Posen." Beca rolled her eyes. Aubrey just made a face and giggled. She opened it and pulled a soft green scarf out. The reaction on the blonde's face was priceless.

"You're welcome." Beca smirked.

"Oh my god. You bought this for me?" It was the scarf Aubrey was talking about weeks ago that she wanted to buy.

"No. Actually, that's mine. I just want you to see it and be jealous." Beca grinned.

"Shut up, Mitchell." Aubrey scoffed.

"Just kidding. Of course it's for you! If you're gonna be like that whenever I buy you things, I won't try anymore." The brunette tried to be sarcastic but she can't wipe the smile off her face.

"I didn't ask you to buy me stuff." She threw a crumpled tissue at her.

"Yeah, but I wanted to." Beca smiled and looked down on her hand, fiddling with her thumb ring. A hand touched hers and squeezed it gently. She looked up at Aubrey smiling at her endearingly.

"I love it. Thank you."

Beca's heart was thumping against her chest madly and she can't help the bigger smile attempting to form on her lips.

The blonde retrieved her hand and adored the gift she received.

"Don't just stare at it. It might melt. Try it on."

She excitedly put it around her neck.

"This is so soft." She whispered to herself as she kept feeling the fabric against her hands.

"How does it look? How do I look?" She grinned and bit her bottom lip, eager for the brunette's opinion. The other woman took in the beauty in front of her. She looked back at her eyes and absent-mindedly responded.

"Perfect."

Beca expelled a breath. Aubrey noticed how she looked at her and felt a blush creeping on her cheeks. She looked away and tried to make a joke out of it.

"That's because we're meant for each other." Beca just laughed at her and it also made her laugh. The brunette pulled her phone from her pocket.

"Look here and let me take a picture of you."

Aubrey fixed herself and smiled brightly at the camera. The brunette mirrored that smile and took a lot of picture.

"I'll send this to your clients."

"Yeah right. You better send it to me too."

"I'll think about it." She looked at it once more before locking her phone. She smirked at the blonde and took a sip of her coffee.

She pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. She shouldn't be thinking about her or going back to those moments. Those things have their time. She looked at her watch and it was almost lunch. Maybe it's time for her to unwind for a bit before going back to work.

She clutched her purse and went out of her office.

"Natasha, I'll be out for lunch. I'll be back in an hour or less." She told her secretary and went straight out to the hallway.

She was just in time when the elevator stopped and opened. It was odd to be alone in it at this hour. Before the doors totally closed, she heard quick steps.

"Elevator! Wait!"

Aubrey immediately pushed a button to keep it open and waited for the person to appear.

"Just a second." A blonde appeared at the elevator and stood there, looking at the other side of the hallway.

"Speed it up! We're not the only ones using this lift!" She waved at the person she's waiting for. The blonde stepped in and seconds later, a tiny brunette came right after her.

"I'm sorry. My legs can't keep up with yours." She said sarcastically as she stepped inside. She froze as the door closed behind her, seeing the other person with them.

What a small world. Aubrey thought. She didn't know what to do but she had a tight-lipped smile anyway.

"Umm. Sorry to keep you waiting." Beca said meekly.

"It's alright."

Beca nodded and turned around. Reese looked at the two and she could feel the tension between them. It's only the three of them inside the room but it feels like they're cramped up. She noticed Beca fidgeting with her thumb ring but remained silent.

The only thing in their mind was this was the longest elevator ride they've ever been in.

A/N: Pitch Perfect 2 trailer's out. There's not much Aubrey but better than nothing right? Anyway, I'm kind of getting how this story will go so I'll try keeping it up for the upcoming weeks since I'm on break from uni. Hope you like this.
