I heard the heartbeat quicken. It quickened and quickened, her breath became ragged and the footsteps echoed down the hall, but there weren't only one pair of footsteps.
There were two.
My grip tightened and I sang myself a lullaby quietly, head buried in the neck of some twin.
When put in retrospect, there were other options I could have done. The one I chose, though, was probably the worst.
Sit on the lap of a perverted twin, head buried into his neck, arms wrapped around him in a frightened manner. Yeah… not the best idea in the world. When the scary music was coming to the end, you know, how it does right before you hear the girl scream, I felt something slide along my back. I froze in utter fear, not thinking of the devil twins around me. Then, the hands stopped and quickly grabbed my arm. I screamed, bolting out of the twins lap and back onto the floor.
The twins started laughing at me, and my face flushed with embarrassment. That's it.
I will get my revenge.
Shira's guide to revenge:
Step 1: Make them know you are out to get them. The one worst thing than getting scared is waiting in suspense.
I stormed out of the room, fists clenched by my sides. Jerks. The walked out behind me, smirking.
"Come on, lighten up, it was just a joke!" Hikaru said, catching up to be beside me.
I turned and glared at him, sending him back hiding behind my brother.
I faced them fully, arms crossing over my chest, my foot tapping impatiently next to me, "Joke or not, your going to pay for scaring me," I said deadly calm. The twins gulped and I swiftly turned back around, striding to the kitchen.
Step 2: Play innocent whenever they ask about it.
"Shira~" Kaoru asked, leaning on the countertop next to me, "You really aren't going to get revenge, are you?"
I saw the nervousness in his voice. Heh, serves him right! I turned back to my soda and took a sip, eyeing him from the corner of my eye, "Well," I started, before I smiled innocently at him, "Of course I am!"
He paled and his brother came up next to him, "How?"
I giggled, "Just you wait and see!" I bopped him on the nose before skipping out of the kitchen.
The two brothers watched me leave, before I turned the corner and pressed myself against the wall, listening in on their conversation.
"She's freaking me out."
"Maybe we should lock her in the basement?"
I snickered to myself, this is playing out perfectly!
Step 3: Make them think you are about to get your revenge, but then don't.
"Come on guys!" I pressed, trying to drag them back into the kitchen. They looked at me cautiously, before eyeing the kitchen. Good, they don't trust me.
Smarter than I gave them.
"We would rather not," Kaoru said, pulling away.
"Come on," I whined, looking up at them with a pleading look in my eyes, "It's really good! You'll love the present!"
Hikaru scoffed, wrapping his arm around Kaoru's shoulder. He looked at me with an amused look, "We'll love it? Yeah right, it's probably your revenge whatever!"
I pouted, sticking out my lower lip and giving them the puppy dog eyes. Is that Hikaru blushing? Eh, probably not. But that's not the point! I need to get them in the kitchen!
"Please?" I begged, holding their hands, "Come with me… please?"
I looked at them with my big blue eyes. I saw them weaken, and I internally smirked. Fall prey to my cuteness! MUAHAHAHA
"No."
Well damn, that didn't work. Time for plan B.
"Fine then. I'll bring it to you," I stated, I saw the twins tense, "Stop being such babies."
I turned and walked into the kitchen, grabbing the plate from the counter. I saw the twins ready to run when I exited, but then they stopped and eyed the thing I was carrying.
Cake. I made chocolate cake.
"Is it poisoned?"
I rolled my eyes at the twin before taking a little piece and eating it myself. They grinned, the smile spreading from ear to ear, before devouring the cake.
I smirked, this is too easy.
Step 4: Patience is a virtue. Wait a day before you get your revenge.
The moon rose, it was nighttime. I let a yawn escape my lips as I stretched out. I was wearing one of Hikaru's T-shirts and sweatpants, as those are acting as my 'pajamas.'
Don't let Hikaru know, but his shirts are really comfy. I think I'm going to steal this one.
"Huh, so you aren't going to prank us after all?" I heard a twin ask, I looked back at him, remember step 2, I looked at him innocently, "Of course not!"
I saw him and his brother tense. Ha, I bet they are thinking I will! And I will, just not today.
I crawled into my bed, seeing them bid goodnight before walking away. I waited a few moments, maybe ten minutes, before I activated my ninja mode!
I jumped out of bed, rolling across the floor before I got to my door, the Mission Impossible theme song running through my head.
I did a (failed) shoulder roll to the wall in the hallway, a maid giving me a strange look. I shushed her, staring at her as she walked (ran), away. I then tip toed over to the twin's room, peering in through the cracked door. I saw them shift in their beds, mumbling something about not being able to sleep.
This is perfect; the suspense is killing them!
Final step: GET YOUR REVENGE!
The next day I woke from my peaceful slumber. I got out of bed and walked down the hallway, glancing over at the clock. The twins should be waking up soon.
I saw the twins walk into the kitchen, wiping sleep out of their eyes. Their movements were in sync, walking over to the cabinet and pulling out cereal and milk. They poured themselves a bowlful and walked over to the table, plopping down in their chairs and eating.
"Well, good morning to you too," I mumbled, the twins tiredly waved me off.
Now is as good of a time as ever. I walked away, acting as if I was going to get changed. Then, I swerved and entered their room. This should be fun.
``'~~'~~'~~'``
"SHIRA!"
Oh, I love the sound of my name~
The twins burst into the kitchen, anger written all over their faces, I looked up from the newspaper, spying them still in their pajamas, holding ball gowns and high heels.
"Yes?" I asked innocently, batting my eyes at them
"Where are our clothes?" Hikaru demanded
"What?" I asked, playing dumb, "Aren't you holding your clothes there?"
"No," Kaoru snapped, "These are dresses and mini-skirts!"
I shrugged, walking past them, "Well, I don't know where," I turned back to them, grinning, "Now hurry up and get changed, we have the indoor waterpark thing to go to!"
I turned and walked away. They will never find their clothes now! Because I hid them in the one place those boys will never look: Where they belong.
Thank you so much to everyone who reviews, I love it!
Until next time~ The plot will continue!
