Welcome to the final chapter of the Other Girl, hope you guys like it.
Beck got out of the hospital two weeks after the crash; it had now been almost a month since he was released. He was currently at his physical therapist while Jade and I were lounging around his RV waiting for him to get back, after having a long night spent here. He'd been cleared last week to do 'all physical tasks', so we were celebrating after finally getting some time alone. Jade was sitting on the bed behind me, mindlessly braiding my hair while we watched the Scissoring, her pale legs wrapped around me, her thighs resting against my shoulder.
"You know, your legs are really soft." I mumbled, resting my head against her thigh and rubbing her calf slowly with my finger tips, "it's not fair, my legs never feel this soft."
Jade chuckled, "Sugar scrub. Take some sugar and vegetable oil, scrub your legs with it, rinse it off, shave and then scrub them again, silky soft. I'll help you make it later." Jade offered, tying off the braid and leaning down, lifting me up onto the bed. I smiled and gave her a quick kiss.
"We should have a girls night sometime. Relaxing spa things, some candles and a horror movie or five." I mused.
She grinned at me, "Where have you been all my life." Jade giggled, pushing her fingers through my hair, it hurt a little but I didn't mind, as she pulled me down for a kiss.
"Getting coffee dumped on my head and barking like a dog." I teased, she frowned and I sighed, brushing her hair away from her face, "I'm kidding Jade."
She sighed, her blue-green eyes searching my face, "I'm scared I'm going to wake up one day and you'll be gone. That you and Beck will just move on, and I'll be all alone." She brushed a strand of loose hair behind my ear.
"I'm not going anywhere. The sex is way too good." She smiled again and I settled down with my head lying on her chest, watching the end of the movie while she massaged my lower back, when it was over she shut off the TV and we just laid there, commenting that we should get dressed and go get ready for the kickback.
The RV door opened, "I love coming home to the most attractive women I know lying naked in my bed." Beck joked, shutting the door behind him, "did you two have a nice afternoon?"
"Mmm, yes." I mumbled, I closed my eyes and yawned, I wasn't in the mood to move, Jade was so comfortable to lie on. I felt Beck's hair brush my face and heard the sound of him kissing Jade. I rolled to my left and dropped back on the other side of the bed, yawning and slowly opening my eyes.
Beck leaned over Jade and gave me a slow kiss, breaking away and settling on the bed beside Jade, "So how was therapy today?" I asked, rolling onto my side.
"Good, he says next week will be my last session, just to finish up some muscle building and I'll have to go get an x-ray done, and then I'm free to do whatever I want." He sighs; Jade gives me an evil look before she rolls on top of him.
"Still up for that party? We're gonna have some girls time beforehand, it's the last end of the year bash, it'd be great if you came along." Jade kissed the side of his neck softly. Beck's eyes fluttered between open and closed.
"Twist my arm why don't you." Beck joked, Jade smiled, clearly pleased with herself and rolled off the bed. I watched her getting dressed, trying to talk myself into getting up as well, but instead I curled up next to Beck for a little bit, "did you two get up at any point while I was gone?"
"I moved and sat on the floor. But other than that, no." I rolled off the bed over him, kissing him quick before I found my clothes, somehow my underwear ended up next to, and thankfully not in, the fish tank while my bra was over by the bathroom, "could you two work on tossing my clothes better, I cannot wear my jeans without underwear."
"Next time we toss them in the fish tank you can just stay here 'til they dry." Beck grinned at me. I pulled my underwear on and shimmied into my jeans, "comere." He hooked a leg around my back and dragged me gently back down on the bed, kissing me again.
"I think your legs work just fine, Beck." I joked when we broke the kiss, "now let me up so I can finish getting dressed."
"I get back and you leave, I don't know how that's fair." He teased.
"Well after the party…" Jade leaned down and whispered something I couldn't hear in his ear, he unwrapped his legs, kissed Jade, and watched silently while I got dressed and while Jade searched for her bag. Once Jade found her bag and keys we left the RV, heading to Jade's new car, paid for by the dumb ass that ran the light, and went to her house. Her mother was out of town for business so I didn't feel as awkward walking into the house, "I'll get the sugar scrub, go change into a pair of shorts and set up the bathroom."
I moved down the stairs, not bothering to turn on the main light. I flipped the switch on her Christmas lights and moved a few things on her desk around until I found her lighter under some scripts. I opened the bathroom door and lit the few candles on the back of the toilet and the others on the stands by the tub. I turned on her music player, starting the last track on her iPod before I went back into her room and changed out of my jeans and into some shorts that were in the drawer of clothes Beck and I had left laying around and for the sake of getting comfortable I unhooked my bra and tossed it onto her bed.
Jade came down with a bowl a few minutes later and pointed toward the bathroom. After scrubbing my legs and rinsing the sugar off I shaved and repeated, and Jade followed in suit, spending the next ten minutes laughing at me every time I rubbed them, "shut it they feel so smooth. You're cracking your mask."
"That means its time to take them off, then." Jade replied, we took turns taking the masks off our faces, and afterwards we worked on each other's eyebrows, and then Jade washed my hair, blew it dry and curled it for me, I washed her hair and blew it dry and straightened it for her.
Afterwards we sat in her bed and snacked on some popcorn and crackers, and around 7 we fixed our makeup and I went into her bathroom to get dressed while she changed in her room. I pulled on a black crop top and my new floral skirt that was white with red roses all over it and shrugged on a cardigan and then slipped on some heeled ankle boots. When I opened the door Jade was shrugging on a shirt over a green tank top that was tucked into a pair of black shorts. When she got it on I read the front, "Normal is Boring. Nice shirt."
"Thanks." Jade smoothed down her hair and turned toward me fully, "You look amazing, Vega."
"Thanks." I smiled and nervously touched my hair, "Are you sure about this?"
"Am I sure I want to go to a party with my girlfriend and boyfriend? Yeah I'm pretty sure." Jade replied, stepping up in front of me. I'd been ignoring it this morning, but ever since Jade had suggested going together to the party my stomach had been in ever tightening knots.
Cat, Andre and Robbie all knew about us dating and none of them cared, but this was in front of the whole school, the entire fucking school, "I don't know if I can."
"She being a huge baby?" Beck called from the door, I couldn't help but smile when I saw him, "we had an idea. Lindsey is going to take us all, and if you don't feel comfortable being all couple-y with us you can get all fake, key word fake, couple-y with her."
"You guys you didn't-."
"It was her idea; actually, I thought it was a good one. It's not like she gets to spend much time doing high school things anyways." Jade reasoned, applying some lipstick in the mirror, "besides she's is your new BFF." Jade closed her lipstick and started up the stairs pausing to kiss Beck before she moved past him. Rolling my eyes I headed up the stairs after double checking that the candles were all out and the lights were off.
Beck put his arm around my shoulder and led me out the door, "Your girlfriends car is fucking amazing, I'm thinking we should make this a foursome." He joked, outside we found Jade crawling into the driver's seat with a gleeful expression on her face, had she heard Beck say that she might agree. Lindsey was waiting by the passenger door, looking gorgeous as always, "Please." Beck joked, jutting his bottom lip out in a pout.
"I don't think that's gonna happen." I crawled into the back and Lindsey got in beside me, pulling the passenger seat back so Beck could get in as well, "you look nice, El."
"Thanks, Tori." She smiled as Jade peeled out of her driveway, "Jade, headlights."
"Sorry." Jade turned them on, the face splitting grin never leaving her face, and sped down the road.
Jade was gushing over the car the entire walk to the back of the school, we quickly found our friends and I introduced Lindsey to everyone but about an hour in she left to dance with Cat, after asking about a million times if I minded. I watched Beck and Jade dancing and singing along, laughing and having a great time. I frowned and spun my cup around.
"You should just go dance with them, you don't want to look back on this and regret sitting out because you're scared of what other people think." Sikowitz observed casually, leaning against the table beside me, "you've been thrown on stage with a minutes notice and sang in front of a bunch of strangers, you've sang in front of millions of people, live on TV, what's so scary about dancing with them?"
I didn't reply.
He shook his head like he was disappointed in me. "this is a great song." He told me before walking off.
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight, lead me out on the moonlit floor.
Beck and Jade were dancing near each other slowly, smiling at each other tenderly, but I noticed they were also sneaking glances in my direction, looking away quickly when I caught them. I took a final sip out of my glass and moved away from the table, slowly making my way toward them. When Jade noticed me she moved away from Beck and took my hand, twirling me slowly and pulling me close, smiling.
Lift your open hand, strike up the band and make the fireflies dance.
I smiled at her and laughed as she spun me away from her and into Beck's arms, he leaned down and gave me a quick peck on the lips before he spun me back toward Jade, who pulled me in close and gave me a slow kiss.
Silver moons sparking, so kiss me.
The rest of the night we danced with each other and it felt like I was out on a normal date with them, I didn't notice if anyone was watching us or gossiping and I found I didn't care either way. That night Lindsey let Beck drive us back to Jade's house, we said goodbyes and headed inside, as soon as the door closed the three of us are in a frenzy, and somehow we all ended up downstairs safely, clothes scattered through the room.
We lay tangled together hours later, I'm the only one awake, curled up on Jade's right while Beck was laying on his stomach to her left, she was laying on her back with one arm over mine, draped across her stomach, and the other twisted around Beck's. They were both sound asleep and I couldn't help but study them as I laid there until I slowly drifted to sleep.
I was the first one up the next morning; Jade is now stretched out across the bed on her stomach, her arm and leg draped over me while Beck is lying beside her, almost on top of her. I'm careful not to jostle the bed too much, Jade would sleep through it but Beck might wake up and I didn't want to disturb his sleep.
I stole a pair of her shorts and pulled his button up on before padding silently up the stairs to make coffee. I'm filling up the coffee maker with water when the door leading to the garage opened and Lorena walked in.
"Good morning Tori, just you?" she asked, peering around for signs of life anywhere else in the house.
"Nope, Beck's here." My cheeks were on fire, "would you like some coffee?" I asked.
"No thank you, I've had a long night I'm going to sleep, tell Jade to leave a note if you guys go out." She smiled at me before continuing on through the house and up the stairs. I started the coffee pot and lean against the counter, hanging my head and fanning my face to cool down my burning cheeks.
"Damn it, Jade we could have gone to Beck's." I grumbled, recalling the argument last night we had in the car where she swore her mother wasn't getting back in until tomorrow night. Idiot.
As soon as I went downstairs to yell at her, assuming she was awake since it was now 7:30, but as soon as I see her still passed out on the bed I forget my anger, set the coffee cups on her desk and crawl back into the bed next to her, falling back to sleep quickly.
It was nice to finish the last three months of my senior year with my girlfriend and boyfriend, going out on dates and being couple-y around school. Graduation barreled down on us quicker than we could prepare, and soon I was walking across the stage and shaking Helen's hand and taking my diploma.
In the crowd I easily picked out my father, Jade's mother, and Beck's parents all standing an applauding, taking pictures. In the seats filled with students, Jade was three people behind me and when I turned to look at me she smiled, Beck was cheering from his seat, and I had never felt happier.
Two days after graduation we all got call backs for a movie we auditioned for, and two days after that we were officially given the roles. I'd be playing the best friend, Beck would be the main characters boyfriend and Jade was the antagonist. We were happy and excited to start filming, shortly after I moved out of my dad's apartment and we moved into a small three bedroom house.
We'd decided we would all need our own personal space once in awhile, though we all spent most of our time in the master bedroom, which belonged to Jade. It was nice and comfortable living together, like it was meant to be, living together was just so perfect.
We even got a cat. We named her West because the black and white long haired cat was constantly grumpy, she slept in my room, on the foot of my bed, on the nights I slept there, and slept on the cat tree in the master bedroom if I was in there or not at home. I heard that my mother and Gary got married, but neither Trina nor I had been invited, and they sold the house and moved somewhere. I wasn't as sad as I would have been that I had no clue where she was, because I had Joyce and Lorena and my dad, who loved me and that was more than enough for me.
Trina didn't seem too bummed, she'd always been daddy's little girl anyways, and she saw him frequently. She lived in an apartment complex about ten minutes from our house with her girlfriend and did stand up comedy at a local club, Beck and I frequently went down for her shows, Jade usually preferred to stay home, comedy wasn't her thing, but she enjoyed herself whenever we dragged her down.
And every night I got to crawl into bed with them and fall asleep, and every morning I saw them and I couldn't help but smile and feel butterflies in my stomach, these two were mine, and I could not have been happier.
I'm sorry it's so short. I've had the ending in my head forever, but then I wanted to go down the drama road, have some Tori/Holly interaction, but then I wanted to keep this as close to real life as possible, and there was little chance she'd go see her mother/her mother would go see her ect. I hope you liked the chapter and the story!
