Albus and Scorpius got through breakfast fine, but Albus was immensely confused. He was obviously attracted to the blond. It was clear from his dream the previous night. But Al had never really had a crush on a guy before. He could acknowledge that men were attractive and all that, but he had never wanted to actually shag them before.
He figured he should go to someone for help, but who?
Then it came to him.
)
Near dinner time, Albus finally got a response to his letter from his cousin Louis. He quickly scanned it, and smiled. This was so Louis.
"Hey mum, is it okay for Louis to come over the day after tomorrow?" Al called.
"Of course, sweetie!" Ginny answered.
Scorpius overheard, and inwardly groaned. The Gryffindor's cousin was a notorious diva. He wasn't necessarily looking forward to putting up with that. Not to mention that Louis also had a big mouth. Scorpius had to be very careful around him, or he might catch him eyeing Al's bum or something, and then it would all be over.
"I see the ears are gone." Lily said, sliding up next to Scorpius.
Scorpius ignored her, still mad at her for what she had done earlier.
"Someone's a grouchy dog." She muttered, walking away. Scorpius fought the urge to flip her off. After all, he had two more days at the Burrow, and then he could leave and forget his feelings for Al. Hopefully.
He was in the middle of scheming how he could leave early when he heard heavy footsteps behind him. He turned, expecting Al. He groaned. "Get the fuck away from me, you pervert." Scorpius said, attempting to push past James. He really was not in the mood for more unwanted groping. James grabbed his wrist and pulled the younger boy to him. "Look, don't you get it? I don't like you. Just get off of me."
"Shut up. I'm going to talk alright. I don't like you messing around with my brother right in front of me, you little tease. I know you're trying to make me jealous." James growled.
Scorpius scoffed. "I wouldn't put that much effort into getting an oaf like you to make a move, alright? I thought that me avoiding you was a good enough hint, but apparently you have a thicker head than I thought. Just get away from me, and don't you dare grab me like that again, or I will hex your balls off." Scorpius stalked away, fuming.
How was he a fucking tease? Was James that fucking stupid? Two more days, two more days.
"Hey, are you alright?" Albus asked, coming up behind him.
"I'M FINE. CAN I NOT GET A FUCKING MOMENT OF PEACE AND QUIET IN THIS STUPID FUCKING PLACE?" Scorpius screamed before he could stop himself. He knew he was being a prick, but he was too far gone to care about it in that moment.
Albus paused, wanting to say something. He decided against it. The Slytherin obviously needed some time alone. He nodded, and walked away sheepishly. Scorpius regretted snapping at the other man, but he decided he would apologize later after he had cooled down, to avoid another outburst.
Scorpius decided that he would try and do something productive, and went upstairs to read and maybe work some more on Charms.
)
Scorpius woke up with a bad taste in his mouth, making it obvious that he hadn't brushed his teeth before he fell asleep. He rubbed his eyes, realizing he was in Al's bed. He didn't remember going to sleep last night though…
He glanced at the clock. It was ten in the morning. His stomach growled. He didn't remember eating dinner last night, so he had already missed two meals. That might as well be two days without food for a teenage boy. Scorpius scrambled out of bed and hurried down to the kitchen in search of something to eat.
While raiding the kitchen, Al snuck up behind him. "Hey, Sleeping Beauty." Al joked. Scorpius jumped. "Woah, calm down, it's just me." Al chuckled.
"Bloody hell, don't sneak up on me like that." Scorpius tried to get his speeding heart to slow.
Al laughed, and pushed himself onto the counter, his legs swinging slightly. "You slept for a long time, though. Are you alright? Are you getting sick?" Al asked, real worry painting his features.
"No, I'm fine. Just exhausted, I guess." It was true. After all, Scorpius' mind had been working nonstop since his first night in Al's room. He just needed to get out of there and stop thinking about Al. One more day.
"Well, I was wondering how you wanted to spend your last day in the Potter household. The sky is the limit." Al wanted to make sure Scorpius left without feeling less than satisfied with his trip.
"You guys have been great to me this whole week, don't worry about it. Really." Scorpius didn't need more attention drawn to him.
Al considered arguing, but thought about how the Slytherin had snapped yesterday. He'd better not push it. "Alright. I'll accept that. For now." Al winked at Scorpius, making the other boy's heart race, even though he knew Al didn't really mean anything by it. That was just part of his personality, after all.
Scorpius continued to search the fridge, and Al took that time to really admire the other man. He still had sleep mussed hair, which was absolutely adorable. Al was glad he hadn't noticed yet, because he would immediately smooth it down. He was still wearing his jeans and shirt from yesterday, but he hadn't seemed to notice yet. Al wondered if Scorpius knew he carried him from his desk to his bed, but he didn't ask. Al quickly pretended to be looking at something fascinating on the wall as Scorpius turned around. "Do you want anything? I don't cook often, but I can make some fairly good meals." Scorpius only cooked when his mother and father were gone. Otherwise house elves took care of that.
"No, I'm fine. I already ate." Al said, smiling.
Scorpius nodded and decided to just assemble a sandwich. It was easy, and didn't take a lot of dishes.
Thirty minutes later, Scorpius was full. "I'm going to go get my stuff ready for tomorrow, alright?" Al nodded.
Just as Scorpius was trying to figure out the buttons on the washer, Ginny came in, as if sensing his distress. Scorpius didn't even pretend to know what he doing. "I would have done this for you if you would have just asked sweetie." Ginny said, giving Scorpius a wide and genuine smile. The kind of smile that only a loving mother could muster. Scorpius smiled back.
"Thank you Mrs. Potter. I tried, but there are so many buttons." Scorpius was literally in awe at the piece of Muggle technology. How could a task such as washing clothes be so difficult?
"You're welcome. Now, this will beep in about an hour. When it does, switch the wet laundry over here, and press this button." Ginny said, gesturing to the almost matching contraption beside it.
Scorpius nodded. It seemed easy enough.
)
"Oh sweetie, don't worry about it. It was just a little too much soap. It'll be cleaned up in a breeze." Ginny said, trying not to laugh.
The washer had overflowed and suds had gone everywhere.
Scorpius blushed deeply. He couldn't even do a mundane task such as cleaning his laundry.
Thirty minutes later, the mess was all cleaned up, but it was far from forgotten. Lily relentlessly teased him, until Ginny finally told her to stop. Scorpius tried to be a good sport, but he was way too embarrassed. He was going to be referred to as Bubble Boy by the whole Weasley-Potter clan for quite a while.
)
"Don't even start with me Potter." Scorpius said as he heard Al enter his room. Al quickly shut his mouth, smiling.
After a couple minutes of silence, Al decided to make conversation. "When are your parents coming to get you tomorrow?" Al asked.
"I think they said something like eight." Scorpius had tried to get them to come earlier, but they had refused because he wouldn't give a good reason. Like he would actually tell his parents that the reason he needed to leave was because he wanted to shag Albus Potter. They probably wouldn't react too greatly to that.
Al tried hard to not frown. He was definitely going to miss Scorpius but it was probably good that he was leaving as well. Maybe if he wasn't constantly around him, his feelings for the Slytherin would diminish. He wondered if they would talk when they arrived back at Hogwarts.
"Are you excited for school?" Albus asked, cringing mentally. That was such a stereotypical question to ask.
"Uh, I guess. It's something to keep busy with." Scorpius answered.
This time, Albus did frown. That wasn't the way you were supposed to think about school. You were supposed to think of it as a place to learn and hopefully figure out what you wanted to do in life and a place to make friends and enemies and have fun, basically a place to grow up and find yourself. Not a thing to keep busy with. He refrained from saying that all though. It would make him sound like some school obsessed nerd.
"Er, how about you?" Scorpius asked, uncomfortable with the silence.
"Yeah, 'course." Albus left it at that.
Scorpius huffed. "What's wrong?" Albus said, trying not to smile at the blonde's adorably frustrated face.
"I can't find my charms book. Where did I put that?" Scorpius fought the urge to completely empty his suitcase to find it.
"Did you put it in a drawer?" Albus asked.
Scorpius shrugged. He walked over to Al's nightstand, and threw open one of the drawers.
"Wait, uh, no, not in there Scorp-" Albus started.
"Is this it?" Scorpius said, his fingers curling around the spine of a book. He pulled the book out of the nightstand. Albus visibly paled and Scorpius understood why when he saw the cover.
"I, uh, it's not mine, it is Louis'" Albus stumbled through the words.
Scorpius finally looked up at the other man. He was completely red. Scorpius would be too if someone had found a book about gay sex in his nightstand. "I'm going to go look for my book downstairs." Scorpius said slowly, placing the book on Albus' bed.
Albus waited until Scorpius had left the room until he started completely freaking out. He was such a complete idiot for leaving that there. He had 'borrowed' that book from Teddy a long time ago because he was curious, and he had never returned it. And now it had basically ruined his life. This was just fucking great.
)
The boys avoided each other for the rest of the day until they inevitably had to see each other to go to sleep. Scorpius considered sleeping on the couch, but he didn't want Albus to think that he was avoiding him. Even though he was. He just didn't want Albus to think he was. They both took longer than necessary brushing their teeth to avoid having to talk. Finally Scorpius said something.
"I found my charms book. It was between the couch cushions." He held it up sheepishly.
Al didn't say anything, just nodded. Scorpius bit his lip. He wished he had never found that book. Now it was affecting his relationship (platonic relationship that is) with Albus.
Scorpius made a few more attempts at conversation, but Albus brushed them off or only provided one word answers. Eventually, Scorpius just gave up and went to bed.
Al knew he was being childish, but he couldn't help it. The blonde was probably going to go back to Hogwarts and tell everyone about how Albus Severus Potter, son of the Chosen One, was in the closet and read about gay sex for fun. Albus was dreading the very thought of going back to Hogwarts. He groaned. He slowly drifted to sleep, wondering if there was a charm he could use to erase that single memory from the Slytherin's mind.
A/N: Sorry for cutting it off at a weird point. It was just getting very long. Until next time, I guess.
