Alright guys, here's a new chapter for you to enjoy! On a semi-related note, I'm planning another story to post on this channel, but I'm going to try and finish this before starting on something else. Anyway, enjoy!

Marshall and Delsin vs. a Concrete King. Round 1... FIGHT!

...

Chapter 7: More Cracks

The DUP monster started things off by hurling two of his shields at us, forcing us to dodge. Delsin ran around one way while I ran the other, firing Smoke Shots and Brick Shots, respectively. Unfortunately, everything we threw at the thing never seemed to get past his shields, aside from a few lucky brick shards; those actually seemed to do some minor damage, but nowhere near enough to slow it down. It then unleashed what looked like a wheel of concrete, which began chasing me.

"Goddamnit!" I yelled, running and gunning the thing in an effort to get it to stop. "Why do these things always target me?" Delsin, meanwhile, had continued blasting away with Smoke - though, after nearly getting crushed by another thrown shield, decided it wasn't going to work. He quickly Smoke Dashed over to one of the lights (avoiding another concrete wheel in the process) and began absorbing the neon.

"See? That wasn't so hard!" Augustine called out from above.

"Shut up!" I yelled back, firing a Brick Shot at her. Unfortunately, it was blocked as she created a shield without even looking.

"I thought so," she continued, "I just had to see it for myself. I hope you realize how special you are. Now finish the big concrete oaf off so we can talk."

I attacked it from the back whenever I could; unfortunately, it always seemed to target me with those concrete wheels, forcing me to turn my attention to them so I wouldn't get hurt. Delsin, the whole while took potshots at it with his neon lasers, scoring hit after hit but not doing enough damage.

"The bigger they are... the smaller I feel." Delsin complained as he fired another laser, scoring a hit in the head that didn't even seem to faze it. "Don't suppose I could convince you to take a dive?"

"I don't think it even has ears, Delsin, why are you talking to it?" I yelled, running from another concrete wheel - why did these things always follow me?!

After what felt like hours, Delsin fired one final laser, his reserves depleted. That last laser smashed through the thing's body, leaving a hole as it began to convulse before eventually blowing apart into chunks of concrete. I panted as I stepped up next to the protagonist; Delsin looked up at Augustine.

"Okay, so maybe I, you know, lied about the whole neon thing... but listen, I think I can save us a whole lot of time here, I just need to... leech a little power off you, that's it."

Augustine laughed, incredulously. "You want me to just give you my power?"

"I mean, not enough to sink bridges or anything, but enough to pull the concrete daggers out of my friends, yeah." Delsin explained. "Than after that you will never see me again!"

"I've got a better idea." Augustine made another motion with her hands; to my horror, I felt concrete beginning to crawl up my legs, trapping me in place; if Delsin's yell was anything to go by, the same thing was happening to him.

"Since you'd be useless to me back in your little, hovel, and you seem to be almost as versatile as me, how about you two stay here with me?"

"I kind of like my idea better," Delsin admitted before lunging for her hand - which she grabbed by the wrist as more concrete began spreading up Delsin's body.

"Delsin... you disappoint me." She turned to me, leaving Delsin to be slowly encased in concrete. "As for you... our powers have much in common; you have amazing potential inside you. I can help you unlock it."

"Go to hell." I snarled, summoning a swarm of brick around my arms; unfortunately, they were quickly encased in concrete as well as Augustine shook her head.

"Marshall... you disappoint me as well."

The sudden sound of beating wings caused Augustine to look up, her face changing to one of shock. "NO!" She yelled as an encased Delsin was hoisted into the air by a blue blur; unfortunately, I couldn't see what it was due to the concrete beginning to cover my head.

Then I heard more wings - and the next thing I knew, I was airborne, staring down at the ground as whatever-the-hell-had-grabbed-me carried me over the walls to the Lantern District.
