The next day at Kaiba Corp was a busy one for me. Many investors in the company had ideas for what should be sold in the Christmas Catalogue. Seto and I were in and out of meetings every 5 minutes it seemed that day. We barely had time to utter a word to each other, and honestly it was bothering me considering the tender moment we had the night before. I kind of wanted to know where we stand. Are we friends? Does he have feelings for me? Or was last night just a happy accident? Either way, I knew our relationship would never be the same.

Finally, around 2:00 (2 whole hours later than normal) we ordered Chinese takeout for lunch. As we waited for it to be delivered. I finally asked, "Seto, about last night…Where do we stand?"

"What do you mean?" he asked nervously.

I explained, "What I mean is, how do you feel about me? Are we just friends or do you want to be more?" Timidly I played with my pen to avoid eye contact in case of a devastating blow.

He let out a breath which caught my attention. I noticed he was leaning his arm against the large window of his office overlooking Tokyo. He looked deep in thought and finally replied, "I don't know." I bit my lip and suddenly found the linoleum very interesting. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't seem to hide my disappointment. That was when he came and sat by me on the leather couch and said, "Listen Tea, I never have been good with dealing with emotions. My stepfather kind of beat that out of me." 'Quite literally', he thought to himself, 'But, she doesn't need to know that'. He continued, ". I am telling you this because despite not knowing how I feel about us as a couple, I do know that I care about you. All I am asking Tea is that you just be patient with me."

Seto had just confessed to caring about me, which I know for him took a lot of courage. He never was the most open or trusting person. I suppose it would be more than reasonable to be patient and see where this leads to. I leaned my head on his shoulder and wrapped my arms around his waist. His breathing would have lulled me to sleep if the food hadn't arrived a few minutes later. Despite the rumbling sound my stomach was making, part of me wished it wouldn't have come at all and just let us stay there wrapped in each other's arms.

When work finally ended the kids came from the games room into the office to go home. We piled into the car and made our way towards my apartment. Seto and I both agreed to skip our dance lesson today simply because work had completely drained us today.

Arriving at my apartment, I realized the window to the apartment was broken and the door was wide open. Seto got out of the car and demanded us to stay into the car. I called the police from my cell phone.

He walked into the apartment and was not surprised at what he found. The sofa was ripped to pieces with a knife. Broken glass covered the floor like carpeting. Underneath the glass he found a picture that must have been taken last night. It was a photo of the kiss we shared into the apartment. He then found something that disturbed him more than he could ever possibly imagine. It was a duel monster card, Exodia Necross, a favorite card of his step-father. 'It can't be him, he is dead. I saw him jump out the window.' He thought to himself. He shook his head to dismiss the thought, and ventured further into the apartment checking the closets, bathroom, and what was supposed to be a bedroom. Satisfied that the intruders were gone, he called out for me.

When I saw the appearance of the apartment, my heart sank. "Someone in the neighborhood must have seen the limo last night." I whispered nervously.

Seto shook his head and replied, "I don't think it was the Limo."

He showed me the picture and I realized there was more to this than just a petty thief. This was an act of pure malice. Someone was mad that we were "together" and I had a feeling I knew who that person was. "Yami did this." I stated.

"It could be, or it could be one of the many fan girls who stalk me at all hours of the day." He explained. "I also found this," he held up a card, "It is a card my step-father always used. Whoever did this, I don't think they were out to hurt you, I think they were trying to get to me. The card was simply a sick mind game. The person who did this obviously knew we were becoming close, otherwise they wouldn't have this photo. With all the security that surrounds Mokuba and myself, there is no way they could hurt us directly. But, now that you are in the picture, they had an easy Target. Either way Tea, after the police investigate this place, I would really feel better if you would stay with us for the night." He requested.

I nodded. The truth was I was terrified to stay in the apartment tonight. My hands were shaking and I found it difficult to hold back tears.

I continued through the apartment and found the emergency money I hid in my closet was gone. Also, when I entered my bedroom, the Dress Kaiba had given me and several of my dancing uniforms were cut to pieces. The most devastating thing though was found on the kitchen table. There was a broken photo frame, with the photo removed and chopped up into hundreds of tiny pieces.

That was where I broke down. My legs gave out from under me and my hands and knees landed directly into the glass.

Seto quickly pulled me up and carried me out the house. The sound of police sirens finally started to appear down the road.

Seto, wanting nothing more than to get me away from that place, explained the situation. He handed the police chief the photo and the card in hope that they could find the fingerprints of the one who committed the crime. I then slipped him 1000 dollars and said, "Keep this photo out of the hands of the press. Tea does not need the paparazzi ambushing her over our relationship status." The cop nodded and the police took over. Right before he left, Kaiba took whatever scraps of the paper on the table he could find and placed it in his trench coat pocket. We then headed back to the Kaiba Mansion.

Once we reached the mansion, Seto brought me to his bathroom and sat me on the counter. He had Mokuba call Doctor Rob while he worked on pulling the glass out of my hands and knees. With exception of my labored breathing, it was silent as he worked. The silence wasn't exactly uncomfortable, but it seemed to make me even more anxious. Thankfully, Kaiba broke that silence, "Tea?"

"Hmmm" I replied, not really being in the mood to talk.

"I was just curious, what was in that photo frame that upset you so much?" he asked nervously.

I sucked in a deep breath of air and closed my eyes hopelessly trying not to cry. "It was a picture of my dad and me fishing. It is the only photo I had of us together."

He bit his lip in understanding, Tea didn't know this, but Kaiba didn't have any photos of his birthparents. He would kill to find just one photo of his mom and dad, but all he had were faded memories.

Just as he was about to start cleaning the cuts with alcohol, the doctor knocked on the door. Doctor Rob greeted, "Good afternoon Seto and …. I am sorry my dear, what was your name again."

"Tea," I answered simply.

"Ah yes, Tea, now what do we have here today?" He said as he started to examine my hands and knees. Seto had gotten most of the glass out, but he seemed to have missed one piece. The doctor ran his finger gently over it and it made me gasp in pain. He looked up at me sympathetically and said, "I know dear, but this one is much deeper than the others. That is most likely why Seto decided to save it for last." Seto shot a glare at the doctor and the doctor chuckled, "Oh Seto, would you relax. She already knows you care about her, so don't give me that look." I looked over at Seto and that distracted me long enough for him to pull the glass out. I let out a yelp and quickly turned back to look at the doctor.

The doctor chuckled, and thought to himself, 'Distraction, the oldest trick in the book.' Seto even smirked knowing what the doctor had done. The doctor double checked to be sure all the glass was gone and began to clean the cuts. He looked back to the one he had just pulled out and said, "Well my dear this one looks like it is going to need a few stitches." I felt my face become pale, I have a terrible fear of needles. He saw my expression and said, "Don't worry dear, I am going to give you a shot in your knee that will make your leg numb, you won't feel a thing."

I then asked a question that unintentionally made both the doctor and Seto start laughing, "What are you going to give me to numb the shot."

Once the doctor finished laughing ha patted my shoulder and said, "You must not like shots my dear." I shook my head no. He then winked at Seto and said, "I am sure Seto will let you hold his hand." This time it was me who glared at the doctor. I was already in a pissy mood and he was making fun of me. I braced myself for the shot. I closed my eyes, held my breath, and started grasping the counters till my knuckles turned white. The doctor then said, "I will be back in about 5 minutes to see if your leg is completely numb. If you are still as nervous as you are now, I may have to give you a small dosage of Xanax, to calm you down. I have to go make a call to my wife and let her know I will be late for supper."

I nodded and leaned my head against the bathroom mirror. Seto stayed quiet and observed, emotions always have been a mystery to him and now he was seriously questioning how such a little thing as a needle can, get someone so wound up.

As promised, the doctor returned a few minutes later and gave me a pill. He then started pressing on my leg. "Do you feel anything dearie?" he asked. I shook my head no and he turned to Seto and said, "In all seriousness Seto, you may want to hold her hand for this."

Seto looked at the doctor like he had grown a third arm and said, "Did you see the way she clung onto the countertop? I am not having my fingers fall off thanks to Tourniquet Tea."

The doctor chuckled and replied, "Now come on Seto, I know hand holding is not exactly your thing, but she needs the support."

Seto rolled his eyes but did as he was asked, and slipped his hand in mine. The doctor was right, I couldn't feel the stitches going in at all. I still gently squeezed Kaiba's hand, but more so simply because I wanted an excuse to hold his hand. Finally being finished with the stitches. The doctor wrapped both my hands and knees up. "Ok dear, we are all finished. You can get off the counter now, but you will probably need to lean on Kaiba to walk over to your room." Before, I could even move, Kaiba put one arms under my knees and the other supporting my back. He walked me over to a room nearby and set me on the bed. I heard the doctor tell me "Get some rest," and they exited the room.

Mokuba knowing Robert and Seto always had a little chat after the appointment, snuck in the room next to Tea's and decided to eavesdrop on their conversation. He was hoping they would mention something about Tea. Rini sat behind him with her ear up to the wall as well.

After Seto shut the door he turned to the doctor and asked, "Robert, Did you have to humiliate me like that?"

Doctor Rob answered, "I think we both know the answer to that question."Seto smirked and the doctor continued, "Since the last time we spoke, did you ever give any thought into asking her out. You gave her your room to sleep in for the night, so I know she has to mean something to you."

Seto sighed and replied, "I am not exactly sure what I feel, but I know I feel something for her. And the feeling has gotten much stronger since I kissed her last night."

Mokuba and Rini gasped in shock luckily, no one heard them.

Doctor Rob smiled said, "Ahhhh young love. I still remember the day I shared my first kiss with my wife Emelda. If she is the one, it is something you will remember for the rest of your life. My boy, remember to cherish these moments. As I am certain you already know, they can be taken away at any moment."

Seto looked the doctor in the eye and said, "Believe me when I tell you, even though I am not sure of what I feel right now, I do know I would stop at nothing to protect her."

The Doctor grabbed Seto's arm reassuringly and said, "That's my boy." Seto then walked Dr. Rob towards the front of the Manor to show him out."

As soon as they were out of ear shot, Mokuba and Rini squealed for joy. "It is working!" Mokuba exclaimed!

"I know, I can't believe it. You know what this means right?" Rini asked.

Mokuba shook his head and said, "No, what?"

"We might be brother and sister in-laws one day." She answered excitedly.

Mokuba giggled and said, "I thought we already were."
