Chapter Seven: Approximately

"I am not afraid to die; I am only afraid of saying goodbye to you forever." - Shannon L. Alder

Staring at the boat's walls, Reid felt pain blossoming in himself. Blood stained the floor under him and his mind was too fuzzy to locate where he was bleeding. Everything was in enough pain that his entire body could be bleeding.

Gaze flickering open and shut and he fought for consciousness, Reid watched the boat sway back and forth. Like a crib mobile, prompting him to sleep.

"Hey, kid!" Reid looked up, eyes flickering open at his teammate's voice. They had come! He knew it.

When he opened his eyes, he was in a field with wide, open spaces where crops were soon to be growing. In front of him, Morgan was kneeling down with a smile of relief. "I knew you'd find me," Reid whispered, voice sounding so much smoother and stronger than the last time he remembered talking.

"Of course we would, we'd never let you down…" Morgan replied, putting a hand on Reid's shoulder. Expecting to flinch in pain, Reid blinked in surprise when he felt nothing.

As the pieces that he was dreaming flickered together, Reid shut his tightly. "No… Morgan… please don't go…" he sobbed. "Please be real…" but when he opened his gaze, his friend was gone. The hand on his shoulder was no longer there. "No!" he screamed into the field of grass.

"Why are you so upset, Spence?" At JJ's voice, Reid wiped at his teary vision with the back of his hand. This time, he was on a boat again, but instead of a cabin cruiser, it was a sailboat. "You're going to make Henry sad."

"Henry?"

"Yeah, Henry. Look at him, I'm just so proud of him…" JJ grinned, looking at her son who was holding his bright blue fishing pole as he sat with his father in a chair.

At the sight, Reid felt a smile rise to his face. "He's… so perfect."

"Oh," The mother smiled, giggling slightly. "He is, isn't he?" Then her face darkened and she looked over at Reid. "So please, don't let him die."

"I wouldn't-" But before he could finish, the agent saw Quincy pushing Henry off the boat and into the water. Reid gasped and shook his head. "Save him! Will! Save him!" He screamed but Will didn't move from his spot.

"There's no point, Spence… you let him die!" JJ wailed and Reid shook his head.

"No… no, I didn't! I won't let him die! I promise that I'll save him, JJ!"

JJ just shook her head, moving to the rail of the boat and wailing for Henry to be saved. After a long minute, she turned back to Reid with a tear-stained face. "Like you saved your mother?" she hissed.

Reid felt his legs give out as he fell to the ground in a heap of tears and sobs. "I'm trying… JJ, please… it's not my fault!"

"It's not my fault…" Reid murmured before a sharp kick to his stomach awoke him. When he looked up, he saw Quincy standing above him with a piece of a pipe in his calloused hands.

"Sit up, agent," Quincy sneered and Reid pulled himself up. His entire body felt weak. "Are you going to tell me what happened on May 8th?" he growled.

Gathering as much strength as he had, the doctor fixed Quincy with a weak gaze. "I didn't do… anything." he managed to answer. At this answer, the pipe came down on Reid, hitting his leg with a sickening crunch. Reid let out a yelp and sobbed at the pain.

"Want to know something?" His abductor growled, leaning close to Reid's face. "Henry is already out of the way."

Reid's gaze flickered to the bloody floor. "No," he whispered. "You're lying."

"Actually, I'm not… he's dead, just like your mother."

When his mother was mentioned, Reid brought his gaze to Quincy's. This time, he held it fiercely. "My team, and yeah, my team, will find you." He growled before lashing out and grabbing Quincy's long hair in his free hand. Quincy hissed in pain and the pipe dropped to the ground with a loud bang. A fistful of hair in his bloody hand, Reid yanked it forward, causing Quincy to be flung towards the wall. His head met the hard structure and he gasped in pain, falling limp to the floor beside Reid.

Quincy now on the floor, writhing in agony and holding his head, Reid was able to search through his pockets. "Come on… p'ease…" he murmured to himself. Seeing what Reid was trying to do, Quincy rolled onto his hand, and the bones in his wrist crunched when they made contact with something hard in Quincy's pocket.

Quincy's phone. Biting back a scream of pain at his crushed hand, Reid delivered a sharp kick to Quincy's body, rolling him off of his hand. Slipping the phone out of his pocket, tears fell from his cheeks at the burning sensation in his arm.

"Morgan…" Reid whispered to himself, Morgan would save him. Call Morgan. Turning it on and reaching the dialing screen sent pain searing through the doctor's wrist and he swallowed back of wail.

As he dialed the number, Reid felt the pain in his body scream in protest. Everything was telling him to stop, but he had to hurry before Quincy was beginning to regain himself. Once he had the number down, Reid pressed the call and put it on speaker because it would be impossible to hold it to his ear.

"Agent Morgan," At Morgan's voice, Reid smiled in relief. This was the real Morgan. "Hello?"

"Morgan…" Reid rasped, leaning toward the phone so he would be louder. "M'gan, s'me…" when his voice started failing him, Reid wanted to scream in desperation.

Morgan replied instantly, "Reid? Reid is that you?"

"Mm… here…" The younger agent rasped, voice scratchy and faint. "Hurry… p'eas… I'm on h's boat..."

"We're coming, kid. Just stay on the call." The older agent answered quickly. Reid felt his gaze flicker and he glanced over at Quincy's rising body. Wanting to scream for Morgan to hurry, Reid felt his voice abandoning him.

"He… gettin' s'up… p'eas…" He managed to plead before Quincy stood up and crushed the phone with his shoe heel. The call ended with a click and Reid looked up at Quincy with a weak gaze. "They're… coming-" He said triumphantly before Quincy kicked him in the stomach. Reid fell back with a gasp as the air in his body flew out of him.

Blood was seeping from a wound on the back of Quincy's head and the crimson liquid dripped down his forehead. Swooping the pipe up in one swift movement, Quincy brought the pipe down towards Reid's head. Moving at the last moment, the pipe hit the floor with a loud band.

"You'll be dead before they get here anyway," Quincy purred, eyes flickering in delusion caused by head wound. "I'll make sure of it." He added before hitting Reid in the arm twice with the pipe. Blood dripped down Reid's arm as a new gash opened up.

"To 'ell with t'at'." Reid rasped.

Kicking at Quincy's legs, Reid narrowed his eyes in frustration as the abductor barely flinched. Gritting his teeth, the young agent hooked his foot on Quincy's leg and pulled it forward and causing Quincy to lose balance and backward onto the floor. Quincy's head hit the floor with a thump and went limp.

Now that Quincy was unconscious, Reid tried pulling at his handcuffed hand. The handcuffs cut into his skin the more he pulled so he stopped, letting his arm go limp. He was stuck, the phone was broke, and his vision was darkening.

He needed his team.

"Morgan, Prentiss and I will take his home address, the rest of you take his home address," Hotch instructed as they strapped on their vests. The team nodded.

When Morgan's phone rang, he felt annoyance flash through him. He had things to do.

"Agent Morgan," he greeted. The team glanced over before getting their gear back on. When the caller replied with silence, Morgan sighed in annoyance. "Hello?"

"Morgan…" When the caller finally spoke, Morgan felt himself freeze. Holding up a hand to his teammates, he turned the speaker on. "M'gan... s'me…"

At Reid's voice, JJ immediately called Garcia. "Garcia, I need you to find out who's calling Morgan,"

"Reid? Reid is that you?" The agent asked hurriedly, too shocked to think of what else to say.

"Mm, here," The kid's voice was barely a whisper, and he was wheezing for air. Morgan felt guilt course over him when he thought of Reid's state. "Hurry… p'eas… I'm on h's boat..."

The team was deadly silent as Reid spoke. "We're coming, kid. Just stay on the call." Morgan assured, looking over to JJ with a panicked gaze.

"Garcia?" JJ prompted.

"Almost, keep the call going…"

When Reid was silent, Morgan took a sharp breath to steady himself. "He… gettin' s'up… p'eas…" The doctor pleaded on the phone. Then footsteps, a gasp of fear and the line went dead.

Emily pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes, sitting down in a chair as if her legs could not hold her anymore. Rossi was silent and stared at the floor of the room. Hotch emotions were hidden as per usual, but his eyes flared with rage and fear.

"Garcia? What'd you get?" Morgan asked after a moment of keyboard typing.

"I got it! Sending the location now! He's in a boat, but the boat is at a dock now. So, hurry!" The technical analyst pleaded, voice hitching and giving away the fact that she was crying.

"Come on," Hotch instructed and the team gathered their supplies and hurried to the vans.

Hang in there, kid…

A/N: Woo! Badass Reid! One more chapter and the team will be reunited with Reid! That doesn't mean it's over, though.
