Katniss Point of View

It's been three weeks since I came out of hospital. I came out the day after Gale visited. I am being beautified by make up artists and hairdressers and I'm sitting on a velvet stool, as patiently as I can in my sparkly white dress. Someone knocked at the door.

"Come in!"I called.

Haymitch strolled in. He was wearing a suit with his hair combed neatly. He seemed frustrated.

"Are you alright, Haymitch?"I asked.

"No,"he said, grumpily.

"Why?"I asked.

"I can't believe I'm not allowed to bring a bottle of beer into the church. Like, come on, what am I supposed to do for the whole service? Listen to some old fool drone on and on?"

I laughed at him. Haymitch can be so childish sometimes.

"There had better be alcohol at the reception. Or else I'd die of thirst,"he said.

"Have you not heard of water?"I asked sarcastically.

"It's not good enough! I need beer! I need wine! I need vodka!"

"OK, OK! I promise that there will be at least wine there."

"What about beer?"

"I can't make any promises."

"Ok, as long as there's wine, I'll live."

He strolled out. I smiled to myself.

"Miss Everdeen, you're ready,"said my stylist.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked OK. My dress was beautiful, like something Cinna would he couldn't have. I thought about him. He shouldn't of died. If only he were here now, preparing me, whispering encouraging words to me.

"Lovely,"I said smiling.

"Oh, and this note came with the dress,"my stylist said handing me an envelope.

I opened the envelope, curious about what was inside. I pulled the note out and read it.

To the Girl on Fire,

I hope you like the wedding dress I made for you. I made it in advance in case I died in the war. I give you my blessings on your wedding day.

Cinna

A tear rolls down my cheek but I quickly brush it away. I'm so glad that he made my wedding dress. I couldn't imagine anyone else making it.

Peeta Point of View

I waited silently at the alter beside the priest and Haymitch, my best man, for Katniss to come. I couldn't stand waiting any longer. I've waited years for this event. I doubt my five year old self would believe that he will marry the girl he had a crush on. I felt very nervous. What if Katniss changed her mind? What if she delayed because of something terrible, like an attack? I was lost in these awful, worrying thoughts

The organ started playing so suddenly I jumped. I looked straight down the aisle at Katniss, who looked beautiful in her simple, white dress and her signature braid in her hair. She was beaming and linking arms with Gale, who was grinning to my surprise. He must have gotten over Katniss pretty quickly. He sat down in the front row beside a woman I didn't recognise and let Katniss make her way up the aisle. She stood beside me and sqeezed my hand.

We listened to the priest go on and on for what seemed like hours. Then finally, he said.

"Peeta, do you take Katniss to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do,"I replied solemnly.

"Katniss, do you take Peeta to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

I worried as there was a pause.

"I do,"she said.

"Then you may kiss the bride!"said the priest.

I took Katniss into my arms and kissed her. We ran down the aisle to our wedding car and hopped in to go to the reception in the Capitol. It was a mad party. So many had turned up yet so few I actually knew. I danced the night away with Katniss, my one and only.
