Some time after Remus had left her in the library, Ophelia set down her quill and packed away her Astronomy chart. She walked alone back to the Gryffindor common room. She knew that none of the Marauders would be there so she went straight to her dormitory, thinking she could spend the night getting to know her roommates. As she had sort of been adopted by the four boys, Ophelia hadn't gotten to spend much time with the girls.

When she opened the door, Lily, Marlene and Alice were sitting in a tight circle on the floor in the middle of the room, giggling.

"Hey," said Ophelia. "What are you guys up to?"

Alice smiled. "Just chatting. Care to join us?" Ophelia returned the smile and tossed her bag onto her bed, joining the girls on the floor.

"So what are we gossiping about?" Ophelia laughed.

"James and Lily, of course," replied Alice.

Lily's cheeks burned. "I was only saying that he's alright. At least when he isn't hexing people just because he can." She rolled her eyes.

"Alice and I think Lily really does fancy Potter, only she gets too annoyed with him to give him the satisfaction of going out with him," explained Marlene smartly.

"He really is a decent guy," said Ophelia. "I think you ought to give him a chance. He's pretty much obsessed with you."

"I've noticed," Lily muttered, looking pointedly at a vase full of lilies sitting on the table next to her bed which had arrived a few days earlier. "He's been sending me flowers every few weeks for the past year."

"And Lily hasn't thrown them away this time!" interjected Alice excitedly.

"Shut up! They're just pretty, is all."

"He's trying to be romantic," Ophelia laughed. "I don't think he knows that he's probably crossed the line between romantic and creepy, but he means well. You should have seen the look on his face when I mentioned that you still had the flowers. He was ecstatic."

"That's so sweet! Lily, I don't see why you won't date him. He's one of the top students, really popular, and, if I might add, really good-looking. Not to mention the fact that he's only had eyes for you since first year!" Marlene said.

Lily blushed. "Okay, we can be done talking about me now. Alice, how're you and Frank?" Frank Longbottom was Alice's boyfriend of six months and a Gryffindor seventh year.

"Perfect!" Alice grinned widely. But this topic soon died out as it had been discussed at length dozens of times before. Marlene told them about a burly Hufflepuff boy in their year who she thought was really great and then the girls turned toward Ophelia.

"How about you, Ophelia? All the guys are talking about you! I heard Jon Archer wanted to ask you to Hogsmeade, and he's one of the cutest guys at Hogwarts!" Marlene said.

"Yeah, he did ask me, yesterday. Come to think of it, he's probably still in the Hospital Wing," Ophelia reflected. She saw the surprised looks on the other girl's faces. "Oh, come on! He's a bit of an idiot, isn't he? And he laughed when I told him I was going with Remus."

"Oooo! You're going with Remus? Remus Lupin?" asked Alice, bouncing.

"When did he ask you?" demanded Marlene. The girls hadn't yet heard this juicy bit of news.

"I asked him, actually," Ophelia answered, "on the train." She didn't add that it had technically been for a bet, because she would have wanted to go with him anyway.

"You asked him?"

"On the train? That was fast!"

"Why?" Marlene asked, somewhat incredulously. Ophelia noted her tone and gave Marlene a cool look that made her rephrase. "I mean, he's great and all, but…"

"But you could have any guy in the school, and…" Lily trailed off.

"I mean, you picked Remus over Sirius Black?" Alice asked bluntly.

"Sirius is a nice guy, but he's got a bit of an ego, hasn't he? And he can be kind of rude. No, he's a good guy to have as a friend. But Remus is… well, Remus is really cool. Not in the badass, leather jacket and motorcycle kind of way," Ophelia added quickly to dispel the looks of disbelief on the girl's faces. "But in a 'I-can-talk-about-anything-with-him' kind of way."

"And you figured all this out on the train?" asked Marlene. Ophelia just shrugged.

"Hm. Maybe that's why Sirius was sort of grumpy when I talked to him a few days ago." Lily looked pointedly at Ophelia. "He's used to getting any girl he wants, you know."

Ophelia cracked up. "He was grumpy because James and I stole his conditioner! And he doesn't 'want me'. Trust me, if he did, I would know."

Marlene was staring at Ophelia strangely. "You took Sirius' conditioner?" Ophelia nodded. "Sirius Black's? What did you do with it?"

"It's in our bathroom, actually, under the sink. It had to be somewhere he couldn't find it, and he can't come up here."

Marlene's eyes widened. "Can I… I mean, would it be alright if… Could I have it?"

"Well, we were planning on giving it back, making him think he's going a bit crazy, you know." Oh dear, Ophelia thought. Marlene was clearly one of the girls who would love to have a Sirius Black Fan Club membership card.

Ophelia ate breakfast with her roommates the next morning as the Marauders weren't yet awake. Around eleven, after going up to her dormitory with Lily to show her one of the new novels she was reading, Ophelia headed down to the common room and saw James, Sirius and Peter coming through the portrait hole, evidently returning from a late breakfast.

She walked to them, a roll of parchment in her hand. "Morning, lovelies! Where's Remus?"

"Why do you need Remus when you've got me, darling?" Sirius asked, waggling his eyebrows.

Ophelia punched him his arm lightly, rolling her eyes. "He forgot his Charms notes in the library last night."

James glanced at his watch, decided that Moony should be back from the Hospital Wing, and told Ophelia that he was probably in their dormitory. She thanked him and trotted away.

Remus was rummaging through his school bag when he heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" he invited.

Ophelia walked in and shut the door behind her. The sight of her pushed Remus' heart into a frenzy. This was it. She was going to tell him she knew he was a monster. She was going to say that she's changed her mind, she wasn't going to Hogsmeade with him after all, and would go instead with Jon Archer, whom Remus had heard wanted to go with her.

But she didn't say any of this. Instead she grinned and handed him a roll of parchment. "You left your Charms notes in the library. I figured you might need them." Her eyes fell to his chest and abdomen before Remus remembered that he wasn't wearing a shirt.

"I- uh, sorry." He reached for the white v-neck t-shirt lying on his bed.

Ophelia smirked. "It's fine." Which it was. Despite not being very athletic, Remus had clearly defined muscles. He supposed it had something to do with being a werewolf. Ophelia sat down on his bed.

"Did you guys have a good walk last night?"

Remus turned his face away, busying himself with putting his recovered Charms notes into his bag. "Sure. Very good." Here it comes, he thought. Only Ophelia didn't say anything. When he looked back at her, she was giving him a look that plainly said, "I know you're lying."

Remus sighed. He couldn't take the tension any longer. "How long have you known?" he asked as he sunk onto the bed next to her.

Ophelia smiled innocently. "Known what?"

"That I'm… That I am what I am."

She leaned close to him, her lips pressed next to his ear. "What are you?" she breathed. Remus closed his eyes. She knew: he could feel her smiling against his skin. She just wanted him to say it first.

"A werewolf." The words were barely audible. Remus could feel himself shaking slightly. The only people he had ever told about his "furry little problem", as James liked to call it, were the other Marauders, and he'd known them for over a year before admitting to anything. Yet here he was, spilling his deepest secret to a girl he'd known less than a week.

"Hm. I think," Ophelia began, leaning away from him, "I figured it out when Sirius called you Moony on the train and I put the nickname together with the scar." She traced the short line on his cheekbone with her thumb, not adding that she'd seen it in his mind when she asked about his nickname. It wasn't as though she's done it intentionally. She had had an aptitude for Legilimency since before she knew what it was called and couldn't always control it. "The only thing I don't understand is why the others –" She broke off, understanding dawning on her beautiful features. "Prongs, Padfoot and Wormtail! They're Animagi? That's really advanced magic!"

"They wanted to keep me company." Remus gave a small smile.

"I'm going for a run around the lake. I think the others are waiting for you," Ophelia said abruptly, making it clear that Remus wasn't invited on her run. Ophelia liked to run alone; it gave her time to think. Remus didn't mind. He was too busy internally celebrating the fact that a) Ophelia didn't hate him for being a werewolf and b) his lips had been no more than fifteen centimetres away from Ophelia's and he hadn't experienced complete heart failure. He knew that his heart would be much more erratic if he ever kissed her, but knowing that he'd survived this much gave him hope that he wouldn't completely freeze up if anything more did happen. It wasn't a snog, but it was a start.

A/N: I'm loving the reviews, guys! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, especially to the constant reviewers. It's great to have all this feedback!

Also, I'm wondering if anyone can knows where the title "Only This and Nothing More" originated?

P.S. There's a hint in the second chapter, when Ophelia meets the Marauders ;)
