Falling Sky
A/N: Only reason why I'm slightly excited about this one is because of the ending, which leads to the next song. This is all keriababe2010's fault. I'm so sorry!
Shadow's POV
'Stay calm, she won't find you. She can't know where you are.' I reasoned with myself, burrowing further into the space between the walls.
"Shadow." She called, that sweet tone dripping with anger.
I don't think I've been this scared of her before. I'm terrified actually, but I think I'll be okay if she doesn't find me. It'll just get worse and I know that. Letting out a shaky breath as I heard her now screaming for me, I curled further into myself, trying to seem as small as possible. What fifteen year old can make himself small?
At least it hasn't started raining yet; I'm still bleeding anyways. Can't she just go back home? It's not like she really cares, no one does.
"Shadow, I know you're here." She shouted.
I whimpered softly, careful to not draw attention to myself. I just might die here, how fitting. I flinched, hearing her still call me. Covering my ears, I couldn't calm my racing heart. I'm actually hoping it'd burst out of my chest, so I won't have to live with her anymore.
I never thought the terror would be real this time. I grunted, suddenly being lifted off the ground. Twisting, I shouted, "Let go. I'm not coming—"
"Look, brat, you're my son whether you like it or not." She snarled, grabbing my face.
I don't. I'd be better off living with Faker for all I know. Getting out of her grip, I ran, hoping to get as far away from her as possible. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone's around here anyway. Nearly running into an abandoned cart, I stopped to catch my breath.
"Let me go." I cried, thrashing in her grip. Still struggling, I stopped, feeling cool metal poke at my side.
"Shadow, be a good boy and come home." She said, pressing the blade into my side.
I'm going to die, by my own mother no less. Slipping away from her, I screamed, hitting the floor as the blade dug into my shoulder. Backing against the wall, I watched as she bent towards me, snatching my arm.
"Let go." I persisted, jerking my arm. Seeing something white as she dragged me back home, I reached towards it, briefly touching it.
I stopped walking as she fell, finally letting go of my arm. Looking around, I noticed the white thing I touched earlier on my fingertips. What is this? Looking at my mother, I stepped back as her head lolled to the side. Is she dead?
Daring to check her pulse, I frowned at not feeling one. Glancing at the white wisp, I brought it to my face, tightening my lips into a thin line as it floated around me. Why does it smell and taste sweet?
Picking up my mother, I realized, that she was-in fact- dead and I think that white thing was her soul. Dragging her behind me, I stumbled a few times. I just killed my own mother.
A/N: Um, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to be this dark, but it was. If you're asking about Shadow's shoulder, don't worry; it healed, his shoulder is fine, but his mom isn't, unfortunately. Review please.
