Celestial Moon
Chapter Seven: Healing
Ursula refused to come out of her room when morning came. Her girlfriends tried to talk to her after they quickly came home from Trip's party, but she won't move from her safe bed.
"Ursula, open up!" Misty banged on the light-purple door. "Come on, Prima Donna!"
May twisted the gold doorknob, her attempts of opening the door all at fail. "Man! Did she put multiple locks on her door or something?"
No, just her Gabite.
"Stay back." Dawn announced as she walked backward, ready to deliver a powerful blow of wind to knock down the door…only to backfire and sent poor Dawn flying back! On the fortunate side, her Empoleon caught her in his fins. Dawn sighed heavily. She hadn't mastered the control of air yet.
Iris smirked. "Let me try…" She formed perfectly round sphere of fuchsia energy in her hands.
"Iris, no!" Misty blasted Iris with a gun of water from her bathroom. Iris glared at the waterbender while soaked to the bone and her poufy hair turned into a damp cushion. "We're trying to talk to Ursula, not force her!"
"That won't be easy," Marina said, attempting to create an ice ball in her hands, just for practice. "She's as hard as stone."
"Girls?"
The five girls stopped their bending and looked to Isabella with Lucy at her side. The house sister calmly walked over and made a simple knock, along with a soft word. "Ursula?"
The door ultimately cracked a little bit, tussled pink ringlets and tired red eyes peeking out.
"Yes?" Her voice was breaking down to weakness, sounding so fragile it wasn't like her.
Lucy placed a hand on the edge of the door, carefully opening more to reveal Ursula. The usually proud and pampered girl looked dull and miserable. There were bags under her dull eyes, her hair was messed up and her skin was pale from a restless night.
Misty came forward, hugging her around the shoulders. "Prima…"
"Please tell us." Dawn pleaded softly.
"Yeah so I can have an excuse to burn Paul!" May grinned mischievously. But when Ursula told them what happened last night, May went quiet.
"I'm so pathetic." Ursula moped, her hand shielding her face.
"No, you're not!"
"But what if I-" Her hand moved down, settling on her flat abdomen.
"You won't end up pregnant." All girls turned to Lucy for the answer. "Only soulmates of Ukiyo blood can produce offspring. If one of the soulmates was mortal instead of celestial, they can still produce but only when they have a bond. Your encounter with Paul was rushed. You haven't established a bond with him so you're safe. To establish a bond, you have to be very close. That would mean you have to tell him your secrets, including your celestial heritage."
"So without a bond with a man, you can have sex all the time without the risk of pregnancy?" Ursula asked.
"Yes." Lucy ansered.
"So…does that mean Ukiyo folk are sex-mad?" Isabella spoke curiously and wittily.
"Very."
The seven young girls shuddered.
"That explains my father." Iris remarked.
Lucy merely shook her head amusingly at the innocence that was in contrast to her maturity.
The girls spent Sunday morning at home, bonding with their Pokemon. Like Lucy said, as soon they experience their powers more, they would develop a telepathic bond with their Pokemon. And they did.
In the living room…
"Well Cara," Isabella was saying to Cara, her favourite Pokemon in her arms. "Got anything to say after years of emotional understanding?"
"No." Cara answered back, smiling. Isabella hugged her tightly, smiling too.
"I want a hug too." Tsuki whined, settling into Isabella's arms.
"I see…" Estelle said, stuck in a dream-like trance, her hands out. But her prediction never came out, interrupted by loud, high-pitched laughter.
Sue and Dawn's Pachirisu ran around in circles, squealing.
"I'm gonna get you!"
"No you're not!"
"Hey!" Gabite screeched as the Pachirisus ran under her big feet. And then her follower Pokemon, Plusle and Minun, joined in the running, knocking her over in the process. "Watch it, you brats!"
The Cheering twins blew raspberries at him.
"This is heaven…" Ursula's Furfrou hummed as her owner brushed her fur, in the Kabuki trim.
Ursula smiled. The bags under her eyes began to fade away. At her hip slept her Gothita.
"Chooie, chooie, choo!" Marina tickled her baby Schoochum, named Baby Doll, her slender fingers dancing lively on her pink belly.
Baby Doll giggled on her lap. "That tickles!"
"I want a tickle!" Little Pink whined.
"I'll give you one!" Candy, Marina's Shiny Lopunny, jumped the Wigglytuff.
"I'm going down to Lake Aquamarina so I can bond with my Pokemon." Misty announced, all dressed up for a swim. "I can hear from my PokeBalls but I prefer a more intimate conversation."
"Let's go!" Marill pressed, sitting on Misty's shoulder.
"Come on!" Togetic settled her head on Misty's free shoulder. Misty smiled and cupped her flying Pokemon.
"Be careful." Runa told the Guardian of Water. "Don't draw attention to yourself or any human see you communicating with your Pokemon."
"Thank you for your concern." Misty kissed her cheek, making the Lucario blush.
"May, watch this!" Glaceon balanced a small ball on her nose, then threw it up, jumped up high, caught the ball in her mouth, somersaulted in the air, and landed down on her feet perfectly.
"Atta girl!" May cheered. Her Beautifly sat on her head, flapping on her wings in applause.
"Wonderful!" Gardevoir applauded.
"I can do it too! Watch!" Delcatty tried to mimic Glaceon's trick, but failed, ending up doing a faceplant instead.
And then Blaziken stood up, engulfing a blazing aura. All of the Pokemon, as a matter of fact, suddenly went on defence mode.
"Blaziken?" May asked worriedly.
"Stay down." He said sternly.
"Yue, Ranulf?" Isabella asked her alerted Shiny Umbreon and Mightyena. "What's wrong?"
"Runa?" Misty asked.
"There's someone watching us." Ranulf growled, glaring at the window. "And it's not your boyfriend."
"Travis is not my boyfriend!"
"Most of us beg to differ." Yue rebuffed.
"Are you sure it's not Iris?" Dawn questioned, her Lopunny hugging her protectively.
"Pretty sure." Her Empoleon retorted while he guarded her with his big body.
"Dawnie…" Her little Spritzee whined, hiding in her arms, wrapped up in Lopunny's arms.
"Let them came! I can take them!" Ambipom challenged as she punched the air with her hands and tail.
May, the closest to the window, opened it and was faced close up with a large bird. She had reacted not so subtlety. "Gah!"
"Gah!" Her baby Larvitar repeated in a piercing scream, scaring him into attacking with Sandstorm.
The girls and their Pokemon screamed as they were hurled around in a sandstorm!
"Dawn, use Air! Ursula, Earth!" Isabella barked.
Dawn gracefully bended the air, slowing down the rapid speed and changed it into a spinning ball of air in her hands. Ursula stomped her feet and clapped her hands, controlling the sand to a stop.
May cradled her crying Larvitar like a mother would to her infant child. "Easy, Larvitar, calm down. Its ok, nothing is gonna hurt you…"
The bird that scared May and Larvitar let itself into the living room. It had a sack on its back.
"A Talonflame…" Misty realized.
"What is it doing here?" Marina asked.
"What are you doing here?" Little Miss demanded more sternly, floating protectively in front of her.
The Talonflame bowed respectfully, mostly to May. "I'm sorry for scaring you. I've been sent by the mighty gods." The girls decided to lower their guard. Talonflame was just the messenger. "I would've got here sooner, but a crazy Swellow and an even madder Nidoqueen chased me."
Isabella frowned, slapping her forehead and groaning. "Swift…"
"Who?" Dawn questioned.
"My Swellow, Swift."
"She's kinda… headstrong…and proud." Tsuki gingerly stated.
"Kinda?" Isabella retorted. "She was the most difficult Pokemon I ever trained!"
"Not to mention the pecking she gave me for beating her!" Cara recalled, still able to feel the memory of a small beak piercing her skin from a Tailow.
"At least she only listens to you now." Ranulf reassured.
Isabella rolled her eyes. "Yeah, but she's competitive and will fight other Flying types if she thinks they're faster than her. Stupid pride of hers…"
Iris leaned out of the window, looking at Isabella. "I thought you were kidding when you said Swift is extremely competitive. She outflew any flying Pokemon we have out here!"
Outside, Iris's Dragonite, Emolga, Druddigon, Goodra, Hydreigon and Noibat, and Marina's Dragonair called Ming were dizzy after a spin with Swift, dawdling like Spinda.
Isabella's Dragonair, Kaguya, shook her head at what Swift had done. She was docile, unlike her strong-willed fellow Pokemon. "Oh, Swift…"
Swift ruffled her feathers. "They were wimps, especially Dragonite."
"I demand a rematch!" Dragonite growled before he dropped, flatout from exhaustion.
Queen looked to Kaguya. "I thought Dragonites are supposed to be calm!"
Kaguya sighed at how Queen had left Iris's Haxorus and Excadrill, Marina's Feraligatr, Wani-Wani, and her Granbull, Bertha in a pile of pain.
Back in the living room…
"I have been sent by your families." Talonflame explained. He stuffed his head into the sack he was carrying and pulled out, showing a gleaming, red-orange, round gem in his beak, holding it out to May. She propped it out of his mouth, allowing him to talk more. "Your grandfather sends his pride for your first experience with your powers. I am your prize."
May smiled and stroked his head, to which he liked. But knowing he had a job to do, he moved onto Marina, offering her a white gem. She took it, gazing at it curiously.
"Those are PokeGems. That's what Ukiyo use as Pokeballs." Lucy explained.
"A PokeGem, huh?" Marina mused. She pressed her pointy finger and thumbs gently together and like a Pokeball, a white flash went out of the gem and out came a Vivillon with fluttering wings of the Icy Snow Pattern.
Marina smiled. "I'm going to call you 'Vivian'."
"Thank you." Vivian the Vivillon politely thanked, settling herself on her new trainer's shoulder, brushing her cheeks with her white wings.
"She's darling!" Lady Knight, Marina's Gardevoir, cooed.
Talonflame offered Dawn a light-blue PokeGem. With a smile, she pressed it between her fingers and released a Swanna.
The beautiful swan Pokemon bowed her head to her new trainer. "Greetings, my lady."
Dawn beamed and stroked her long, graceful neck. "Just Dawn, please."
"Yes…Lady Dawn." Swanna 'somewhat' corrected, which made Dawn giggle.
Talonflame passed a blue Pokegem and a piece of advice to Misty. "You'll need a pool for Alomomola."
"Or a lake. See ya!" Misty bid them a peace sign-fingered wave and went out the door.
Talonflame moved onto Ursula, but Ursula hesitated to take the gift.
"Don't be afraid. Take it." Her male Meowstic urged.
"There's another Psychic-type in it, Ursula." Her female Meowstic said.
By this encouraging, Ursula took the pink Pokegem and just stared at her small reflection. Then she pressed her fingers on it and a Munna popped out.
"Hello!" Munna said cheerfully. She helped herself in Ursula's lap. Ursula made no argument and rubbed her new Pokemon with a bigger smile.
Talonflame tossed a fuchsia-pink Pokegem to Iris. Once she caught it, she found herself holding a Floette with a red flower.
"Hi!" Floette chirped.
Iris smiled. "So cute!"
Finally, it came down to Isabella. She stared at the offered pink PokeGem with her eyes furrowed and lips pursed.
She turned away, refusing to take it. "I won't be bought after being lied to for 16 years!"
"Oh, Issy!" May whined, wrapping around her new Talonflame. "Just take it. You need an 10th Pokemon anyway for Battle Class."
"No wa-"
"JUST TAKE IT!" Everyone in the room shouted, knowing how stubborn she is.
Ultimately defeated, Isabella pricked the gem from Talonflame's beak. She pressed and out popped on the floor was an Elgyem.
Elgyem acted timid upon meeting Isabella. "Uh….hi."
Isabella studied her new Pokemon as he attempted to hide himself in his hands. He was very young, younger than Sue. And much more calm and shy.
She picked him and settled, smiling. "I'll name you 'Grey'."
Grey curled up in a ball in her arms like a baby in the embrace of its mother.
The next day was Monday. Time for school. Today was sport tryouts for the girls.
Marina showed up for choreography wearing a long white top flattering her body shape, with a cross-over bust with black trim and a teal-blue/black floral design on the right side highlighted with flecks of metallic silver and diamantes, white leggings on her legs and her dancing feet wore white ballet flats.
"Ok, girls!" The dance teacher, Miss Baile, announced. "Let's get groovy!"
She turned on the stereo and Lady Gaga's Marry the Night burst out.
"I love this song!" Lyra squealed.
I'm gonna marry the night
I won't give up on my life
I'm a warrior queen
Live passionately tonight
"Marina, as a dancer, may you lead?"
Marina nodded and stretched her slim body like a ballerina.
I'm gonna marry the dark
Gonna make love to this stark
I'm a soldier to my own emptiness
I'm a winner
Marina began moving her body elegantly to the slow music at first.
Amy glared, envious of Marina's graceful talent. The Ice Queen was wearing a silky romper featuring a light-blue top with a plunging V-neck, long puffy sleeves and pleated black shorts. Her dirty-blonde hair was done up in a bun on top of her head.
I'm gonna marry the night
Gonna marry the night
Gonna marry the night
As the music speed up, Marina danced more elaborately and fast. The other girls followed her example. Even Amy with a jealous face.
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm not gonna cry anymore
I'm gonna marry the night
Leave nothing on these street to explore
Isabella hit the ball hard with her hockey stick. Her long hair was flying behind her like a flag in a ponytail held by blue bands with gold charms of stars and moons. She was clad in a bandeau with a blue galaxy print on it, white shorts, and mint-green trainers with sparkly panels on the sides, and her precious necklace bouncing off her chest.
Boys on the side of the hockey field and other sport fields gave wolf whistles at her. She retorted with rolling her eyes and throwing feisty glares at all directions.
She skilfully held control of the ball, impressing the hockey coach. She spun around Juliette in an attempt of dodging, sharing a glare, and took off with the ball.
Juliette wasn't the best at hockey like Isabella. She was scandalously clad in a pale-yellow tube-top with gold prints all over the front and had ties at sides, a miniskirt in the same colour with gold detailing, and gold low-wedged sneakers. Like Isabella, she kept her special necklace, the gold toggle one with the 'J' pendant.
M-m-m-marry, m-m-m-marry
M-m-m-marry the night
Oh, m-m-marry, m-m-m-marry
M-m-m-marry the night
At the vast swimming pool indoors, Misty did a perfect swan dive, wearing a practical yet also stylish yellow bikini.
Shelby abruptly dropped into the pool and snuck like a rock before coming back up, gasping for air. Her skimpy bandeau bikini was in navy, decorated with ruffles. Her wet hair was loose and clung to her head.
I'm gonna lace up my boots
Throw on some leather and cruise
Down the street that I love
In my fishnet gloves, I'm a sinner
May laughed, bouncing the basketball between her legs, to her hands, behind her back, spinning it on one finger, showing off every trick in the book.
Even in gym clothes, she was a beauty, wearing a red sports bra, red basketball pants and white shoes made for the sport, also with a chain necklace with gold basketball pendant.
Then I'll go down to the bar
But I won't cry anymore
I'll hold my whiskey up high
Kiss the bartender twice, I'm a loser
Megan scowled jealously at her talent. She had worn a light-red short bandeau dress with a black long-sleeve cropped shirt that oversized on her.
She tried to stomp May's feet with her black wedged sneakers covered in studs, but failed each and every time as May was too quick for her and much more skilled in basketball.
May got a spot on the team once she dunked a basket.
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm not gonna cry anymore
I'm gonna marry thenight
Leave nothing on this street to explore
Dawn won the cheerleading team over with her routine. She was bursting with energy, shaking the school's blue pompoms. She caught the eyes of male on-lookers with wearing a pink zebra-printed sports bra, black cheer-shorts with a pink waistband, black/pink trainers, and a cute pink bow donned in her ponytail.
Chelsea huffed jealously at the stands. She reminded Dawn of Pris from the Blade Runner movie dipped in a barrel of pink dye, having her hair fluffed and decorated with pink bows. She held pink pompoms in her hands. She wore a light-pink bodysuit with long sleeves and pink wedged sneakers.
M-m-m-marry, m-m-m-marry
M-m-m-marry the night
Oh, m-m-marry, m-m-m-marry
M-m-m-marry the night
Gary stopped running on the soccer field watch her dance. He had the perfect view of her back, his eyes wandering to her ass…
"Hey Gary! Heads up!" Kenny Mita warned.
Gary didn't saw the flying black-and-white ball coming at him until it struck him in the head.
Nothing's too cool to take me from you
New York is not just a tan that you'll never lose
Love is the new denim or black
Skeleton guns are wedding bells in the attic
Ursula came out to the volleyball court, putting on her black kneepads and fingerless gloves. Her hair was let loose and held back by a pink headband. She had on a white tube-top with pink/purple rims on top and bottom, black shorts underneath a short white ruffled skirt, and grey/pink/black volleyball shoes.
She walked onto the court, took her place at the front line and bend down slightly, hands out and fisted.
Get ginger ready, climb in Camino front
Won't poke holes in the seats with my heels
'Cause that's where we make love
"Had fun at Trip's party?" Courtney sneered in her ear. She donned a lavender-pink jumpsuit that was too loose on her with a purple tiny-dotted pattern, a purple tied waist, pale-gold wedged sneakers for volleyball.
Ursula narrowed her eyes but said nothing.
Come on and run
Turn the car on and run
When the ball came, Ursula leaped and hit it with great force, scoring.
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm gonna burn a hole in the road
I'm gonna marry the night
Leave nothing on these streets to explode
Iris took a deep breath before she cartwheeled onto the pummel horse. For gymnastics, she tamed her hair into a ponytail wore a long-sleeved bodysuit that was yellow up to the bust and magenta on her torso with white slippers.
Jenna scowled as Iris used her wildness to perform impressive moves on the pummel horse, swinging her legs, doing scissor kicks, bending back, handstands, spins, circles and flairs. The jealous girl donned a black sheer leotard with long sleeves, black panties and a red bandeau underneath, along with black/gold pumps and her burning amber hair done up in a tight bun.
M-m-m-marry, m-m-m-marry
M-m-m-marry the night
Oh, m-m-marry, m-m-m-marry
M-m-m-marry the night
One of the pockets of Isabella's black duffle-bag with bright cyan stars and straps suddenly glowed as a white beam in the form of an Elgyem.
"Isabella!" Grey cried, waving his short limbs about, trying to catch her attention.
Oh, m-m-marry, m-m-m-marry
M-m-m-marry the night
He caught Giselle's.
"Isabella! Your Pokemon is out!" She shouted.
I'm gonna marry, marry
I'm gonna marry, marry
Come on, come on
"I can see that!" Isabella ran over and picked up her newest Pokemon. She leaned in close to whisper, careful in not drawing attention. "Grey, what is it?"
"The girl with the blue hair is gonna get hurt!"
"Dawn or Marina?" Grey went blank. She took it that he doesn't know her friends very well enough to tell them apart. So she whispered another question. "Hurt how?"
The night, the night, the night, the night
The night, the night-
"AH!" Marina screamed. Something kicked her ankle and made her falling down hard, sliding across the floor, crashing into the stereo.
"Marina!" All the girls cried, rushing over to her.
Not all the girls…Amy was smirking, twirling her heel in small circle, sinisterly innocent during the confusion.
"Hold on, dear. I'll get you to Nurse Joy." Miss Baile said as she helped Marina up.
The aquaette whimpered. Leaning on Miss Baile, she limped, hopping on one foot, out of the door.
"I better call Marina's friends." Lyra speed-dialed her friend and waited for her to pick up. "Hi Giselle, is Isabella with you?"
"Oh my god! Marina!" Dawn cried, hurrying down the hall with her five remaining friends. They all got onto their representative teams so they were safe to leave for a friend.
They ran to Nurse Joy's office, seeing a young woman standing outside, talking to the academy's Nurse Joy.
"Celeste," Isabella greeted. Celeste was wearing her chic attire for school. She was more into etiquette than sports.
"I heard what happened." Celeste said.
Isabella passed her to enter the room, rushing over to Marina, who was lying back on a small bed, one leg propped up while the other had a throbbing red ankle.
"Diva…"
"Luna," Marina said back, smiling.
"What happened?" Ursula softly demanded.
"My ankle broke when something kicked me." Marina casted her eyes down and rubbed her hurt ankle. "I have the feeling that Amy was the cause of it, especially since she was only one wearing inappropriate heels."
"That bitch!" Misty shrieked. Misty turned up with a yellow old shirt knotted at her hip with a scoop neck, two white stripes on her short sleeves and a large 'CA DREAMING' and a grey skirt over her damp bikini and running in orange flipflops.
"In basketball, Megan kept trying to step on my feet!" May recalled.
"Those girls really have it in for us." Iris mused.
"We better keep our guards up at all times. This could get nasty." Isabella proposed.
"I second that." Marina agreed, but she winced when she moved her foot, her hand darting down to her sore ankle.
"Let me see that." Misty touched Marina's tenderly, although it still made the poor girl whimper. When she gently grasped her ankle, her hand suddenly glowed. Misty took her hand back at once but when she did, the bruise on Marina's porcelain skin had disappeared.
Marina kicked her leg, no longer feeling any pain. "Wow!"
"How did you do that?" Dawn asked, amazed.
Misty stared at her hand, no longer glowing. "I don't know…"
"We need to learn more about our powers." Isabella stated flatly, her lips tugging to a side.
As soon as the girls came out of Nurse Joy's office and were making their way back to the sport fields (or pool or gym or dance studio) with Celeste, they got pounced on in the hallway.
"Marina!" Jimmy came out of nowhere, going straight to Marina.
Marina giggled at his worrying. "Easy, Tiger!" She lightly pushed him back and then touched his cheek, making him blush. "Don't worry, Ryukyu. I'm fine now."
Celeste stepped back, letting the boys and girls interact.
"You jerks! You gave me a heart attack!" May screamed furiously, pressing her hand upon her heart.
"Ah May, is this the thanks we get for concerning about you?" Drew mocked jokingly, infuriating her more.
Travis grabbed Isabella by her biceps, checking her any possible injuries, getting overprotective again. "You're not hurt too, are you Bella?"
"Travis!" Isabella shook him off. "Travis, I'm fine."
Travis blushed. "Uh, right."
Gary hugged Dawn around the shoulders with one arm, like he used to as kids. "I saw ya on with the cheerleading squad today, you were great!"
Dawn beamed. "Thank you, Gary!"
"Gaarrry!"
"Ah crap…" Gary moaned.
The human cotton-candy was approaching him, accompanied by her crew and leader. The mean girls casted the girls mean look, especially Juliette and Amy to Isabella and Marina. Amy glanced at Marina's ankle and got taken aback. Marina snickered silently, twirling her no longer sore heel. Jimmy brought Marina protectively close as did Travis with Isabella and the other guys with their girls.
Isabella snarled wolfishly at Juliette. Hurting one of her best friends was the last straw!
"Now, Baby Is…" Celeste stepped forward, calming her sister. "Take it easy."
"Baby Is?" Juliette repeated half-curiously, half-mockingly.
"It's my nickname. You know…" Isabella couldn't help but grin in utter delight. "For 'baby sis'."
"I don't get it." Shelby blurted out bluntly, making Courtney hit her up the head, promoting the dumb blonde to whine. After almost drowning, she dressed herself with a hot-pink romper with long sleeves, a plunging V-neck and a triangle-shaped cutout on her stomach, and crochet wedges with black string-straps.
"Sis? You mean…" Jenna trailed off, getting shocked.
Eyes heavily caked with makeup widened to the sizes of cakes.
"YOU'RE SISTERS!?"
May laughed more loudly at them while Dawn sneakily took a picture of their reaction with her phone and sent the photo to Zoey.
"Yes, we're sisters." Celeste confirmed calmly where as her sister bit her lip, her snickers sputtering out.
"But…but…" Juliette choked out.
"You think it's a coincident we share 'Izayoi' as our last name?" Isabella retorted.
"Oh, Isabella…" Celeste sighed. Dealing with her headstrong, feisty sister was exhausting. "Now everyone, back to your activities."
The kids followed her order, even the mean girls. The guys made sure to let Juliette's crew go ahead and take a different route, taking the girls with them.
However, Paul went a different way from his friends.
"What are you doing?" Ursula demanded hotly as Paul forcedly dragged her. He slammed against a wall, just like he did before…"Paul-"
He cut her off by grabbing the back of her pigtailed head and smashed his mouth on hers. Her mouth was open but he didn't stick his tongue in. He was passionate but he was also gentle. She felt her control over her own body slipping, falling to his passion instead of fighting it. Her hands slid around his neck and racked through his hair.
But the memories of their last encounter came rushing back so she pushed him off.
He grabbed her hand before she ran off. "Ursula, we need to talk."
"I have volleyball practice."
"We need to talk." He pulled her back, close enough to hiss in her ear. "Maybe not now, but the next time I get you alone, I won't let you slip away."
She shivered as his voice sent pleasure through her body. But she stubbornly refused. She broke away from Paul and hurried away, blushing red.
So much for healing.
