Chapter 6

Arien led them to a their new rooms. Alina walked into her new room, wondering if Charles would share it with her. Charles went to his own room, looking around and wondering about Bella. Alina sat down on the bed, thinking.

Arien knocked on Alina's door.

"Come in.." Alina said looking at the door.

"I need my knife back."

Alina bit her lip. "Sorry about that," she said standing up. She walked over with it and placed the handle in his hand.

"It's fine." he smiled.

Alina turned to go back to her bed, thinking.

"Do you...want a tour of the castle?"

Alina looked at him over her shoulder. "Sure..."

"This way." he smiled and walked down the hallway. Alina followed quietly, hands behind her back.

After the tour, Arien and Alina were on the wall. "This is my favorite place to come and look out over the kingdom."

Alina nodded. "It's a beautiful sight.." Arien nodded as well. "Do you come here when you can?" Alina said looking at him.

"Yeah, I don't get much free time though. Watching Bella takes up almost all of my day."

"Is she really that hard to watch..?" Alina said smiling slightly.

"Yes because she's so rebellious."

"Oh..." Alina said nodded slightly. Arien looked at her, black eyes studying her face. "Something wrong...?" Alina said looking back at him.

"No, you are just a very interesting person."

Aline laughed slightly before speaking, a smile on her face.,"Why do you say that?"

He shrugged. 'I've just never met anyone like you." Aline nodded slightly again.

"I've never seen anything like this before..." she said looking over the city.

"Then I guess we're both in the same place." Alina smiled slightly, thinking about her brother. "Well, I've got to go now. It was nice talking with you." He bowed and walked off. Alina groaned.

''How am I going to get back.." she muttered to herself.

Artemis was almost in the same state as Charles was he was worrying terribly about Bella.

"You alright?" Holly asked Artemis, standing in the doorway.

"I'm fine," Artemis said looking up at Holly. He feared he had said it a little too quickly.

"A-Alright." she walked over and slipped her hand in his. They had been together for about a year now. "You know I'm just worried as always." Artemis smiled slightly and kissed her cheek. Holly turned and kissed his lips. Artemis kissed her back, placing his free hand on her cheek.

Bella sat in the hospital terribly bored. She looked up and whimpered as Luxa walked in.

"I'm so glad you are okay, Bella," Luxa smiled walked over to her sister and hugged her gently.

Bella winced as she hit her arm but hugged back. Gregor walked over and smiled. "Hey squirt," he ruffled her hair. She laughed.

Luxa smiled, leaning on Gregor slightly.

Bella pulled off the blanket and stood up. "Hey the doctor said not yet," Gregor said.

"So. I hate it here."

Gregor laughed. "Just like your sister."

Luxa laughed slightly. "Maybe I should start going out around the caves with Bella," she smiled.

Bella smiled. "Well. I have to go do something." she walked to Artemis's room to get her knife. She walked in the open door and froze. She cleared her throat.

Artemis pulled back, looking at Bella was an emotionless face. "Yes?"

"I would like my knife back." she did her best to hide the hurt from shining in her eyes.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry," Artemis said standing up. He walked over and handed her the knife before going back over to Holly.

Bella turned, trying not to move her left arm, which was in a sling. She walked quickly to her room, and slammed the door. Holly looked back at Artemis, confused. "What was that about?"

"I don't know," Artemis said looking at the door. He leaned over, kissing Holly gently. Holly smiled, kissing back. Artemis deepened the kiss slightly, placing a hand on her side. SHe wrapped her arms around his neck, then pulled back and smiled.

"See you later," she whispered and walked to her room.

Artemis rubbed his eyes, laying back on his bed. He was really beginning to hate hormones.

Bella sat on her bed, sobbing. She didn't know why she was so upset, she just was.

Charles stood in his doorway, peering down the hallway. He was getting too bored. He stepped out into the hall and began walking down it. He stopped in front of a door he was hearing sobbing from. He knocked gently, biting his lip. The sobbing stopped immediately. Bella opened the door.

"Did you need something?"

"I was just wondering if you were okay.. I heard sobbing..."

"I'm fine," she began to close the door. Charles stopped it with his foot.

"No you aren't. What's wrong?"

"Nothing," she turned and walked to the bed, sitting with her back to him.

"I have a sister. I know when something is wrong," Charles said closing the door behind himself and walking over. He sat beside her. "I promise not to tell anyone."

"I-I..." the tears started again. "I don't even know why I'm upset..." She sobbed silently.

"Is there anything that you have seen recently or done..?" Charles said gently wrapping his arms around her. She nodded, face burying in his chest.

"What was it?" he said softly, rubbing her back.

"W-Well, A-Artemis and I kind of had a make out session back in the caves," she started. Charles nodded slightly, continuing to rub her back. "Then I went to get my knife back and he was making out with that other girl. I don't even know why I'm so upset!"

"Maybe because you might like him..?" She sighed.

"Maybe, I think it's probably hormones though..." she pulled away from him. "I need to get ready for dinner, as do you."

"Alright... see you at dinner," Charles nodded. He stood up and began to leave for his room.

Bella walked to her closet. She decided she wanted to make Artemis feel guilty/jealous so she picked out her best, not party dress and slipped it on. It greatly accentuated her curves and made her look very hot, if she did say so herself. She put her hair up nicely. The servant came to announce dinner and she followed, taking her seat at the head of the table since Luxa could not be there. She waited for the group to arrive.

"Why am I even going to eat.. I'm not even hungry," Artemis muttered to himself as he followed one of the servants down to dinner. Holly looked up at him.

"Because it's the royal family and you'll be punished if you refuse." Artemis rolled his eyes slightly, glancing at the walls. Charles followed quietly behind them. They walked into the dining hall. Arien led Alina in right behind them.

"Got lost did you?" he smiled.

"Welcome," Bella said with a smile. The light danced in her eyes, making them turn all different shades of purple. "Have a seat." Artemis bit his lip, keeping himself from his jaw dropping at how Bella looked as he took a seat. Alina sat down beside her brother, thinking. Holly sat next to Artemis, giving him a sideways glance. Something was going on. Arien took his post behind Bella, but she waved him forward.

"Come, you'll eat with us too." When he sat down, she clapped her hand and the food was brought out. There was so much of it too. "Enjoy!" Bella smiled, gesturing for them to start eating. Alina glanced at Bella before beginning to eat slowly. Charles did the same. Artemis only took a drink of whatever was in his cup, still too full.

After dinner, Bella stood up. "Thank you all for joining me at this meal," she said with a smile. "I hope to see you soon." She walked out and quickly went to her favorite spot on the wall, wanting to be alone.

"That.. was fun," Alina said standing up and looking at the others. Charles stood up, shrugging.

Holly looked up at Artemis. "So, you want to hang out tonight or not?"

"Sure," Artemis smiled.

"What do you want to do?" Just then, her communicator beeped. She sighed. "I have to take this. It'll probably take awhile. I'll see you tomorrow. Why don't you...explore the castle or something." She kissed his cheek and walked to her room. Artemis sighed, rubbing his eyes. He turned on his heel, beginning to walk the corridors.

Bella stood on the wall, looking out over the landscape. She closed her eyes, letting the soft breeze blow against her pale skin. Artemis found himself on the wall and behind her. He looked at the ground, debating whether to go or talk to her.

"Bella..?" Artemis said softly. Bella's muscles stiffened, then relaxed just as quickly.

"Yes?" she didn't turn to look at him.

"I'm... I'm sorry about what I did. It just that I wasn't thinking and hormones took the better of me..."

"Well, it is very wrong to play with a girl's heart. Girl's emotions are so much stronger than men's and they react...differently."

"I know... I've faced this situation before.."

She turned, hurt shining in her eyes. "Then you should know what the consequences would be..."Artemis closed his eyes, head hanging.

"You should really stay away from me.. only Holly can really control me..." he said quietly. Bella took a deep shuddering breath and turned, looking back out over the wall.

"Maybe...you should learn to control yourself." She reached up, pulling a single flower from her hair and letting it fall onto her shoulders.

"How do I do that?" Artemis said looking at her. His breath caught in his throat. She just looked too beautiful.

"I don't know," she looked at him, the torch flames flickering in her eyes. Artemis bit his lip, keeping himself from walking forward and kissing her.

"I better go.." Artemis said, turning and beginning to walk away. Bella watched and as soon as he was gone, she let out a choked sob and ran off to her room.

Alina glanced at her brother who was already beginning to go to his room. "What... is with Charles..." she said quietly to herself. Alina quietly begin looking for Arien, really bored.

Arien stood by the dining hall, talking to another guard. He smiled, laughing as he chatted with him.

"Arien?" she said walking up to him.

He turned. "Hey, Alina."

"I'm bored," she said, not really thinking. He laughed.

"Sorry." Alina sighed and began to go toward her room.

"Wait, do you want to come meet some more knights? They'll entertain you." Alina turned around slowly.

"Sure.." she smiled softly. Arien offered her his arm. Alina hesitated slightly before taking it. He led her to the room where the knights hang out when not on duty.

"Hey everyone, this is Alina," Arien said. Alina waved slightly as the knights smiled and waved at her. Arien led her over to the table and sat down. Alina quietly sat down beside him, thinking.

"So, where are you from?" One knight asked her.

"New York.." Alina said looking at the knight.

"Oh, the Overland," another smiled. Alina nodded slowly.

"Yeah," she said looking at the table. She was beginning to feel really awkward.

"Arien, can I talk to you?" A man asked. He nodded and walked off with him.

"So, has Arien been boring you to death?" one knight joked.

"Not at all," Alina hid a smile, still looking at the table. A muscular hand lifted her chin.

"Let us see your beautiful face," he smiled. Alina couldn't help but blush, she didn't know what was really going on.

They had been talking for hours when Arien finally came back. "Alina, it's late. You should get some sleep." Alina looked up at him.

"Alright," she said standing up. "Nice to meet you guys," she smiled at them. Arien led them out.

"Did you have fun?" he asked with a smile.

"Yeah," Alina smiled, almost grinning.

"Wonderful," Arien said. He opened her door for her.

"See you tomorrow?" Alina said looking up at him.

"Of course," he bowed and walked off.
