Discclaimer: Do not own.

Yeah yeah I know…it took me so long to update! What can I say, life has gotten in the way, and I've been extremely busy at work! The good news is I'm not dead. That should account for something…right?

To the story!

The downside of knowing the future?

"Man, I still can't believe that Bulma has a child with Vegeta! I thought she didn't like him, since he killed everyone, including me, when he arrived on Earth! How can she sleep with someone like him," Yamcha complained.

The flight to where the androids were is short, but all Yamcha did was complain. Gohan knew that this conversation was going to happen, but in order to get to the androids first he had to be with Yamcha. His father didn't want him traveling alone, and although Gohan did say that Bardock was with him, and truth be told Bardock didn't like Yamcha to begin with, Goku wanted someone who wasn't a ghost.

Goku also wanted someone to protect Yamcha, and since Gohan was stronger than Yamcha he was stuck babysitting.

"What would you do Gohan? Should I step up and help raise Trunks with Bulma? I know Vegeta won't be a good father," Yamcha said. Gohan sighed.

"Bulma will only be mad at you if you do," Gohan answered. "I wouldn't step in if I were you. Both Bulma and Vegeta will kill you if you get into their business."

"What does Bardock say?"

"Uh…" what would Bardock say? Bardock wasn't there! "He said to suck it up, and called you a pansy."

That sounded like something Bardock would say, right?

"What would he do if someone knocked up his ex-girlfriend?"

"Why would he care about an ex?"

"Cause he still loves her!"

Sometimes Yamcha was just an idiot.

"Bardock was married, so to say," Gohan said, remember stories Bardock told him before. "Saiyans didn't really have husbands and wives. If they had kids they were sent off to learn to fight. Some were incubated until they were old enough to travel to planets. Bardock was different. He fell in love, and decided to keep her as a mate."

"You mean Goku's mom," Yamcha said. He looked up at the sky. "I forget that everyone has parents. I never really knew mine since I became a bandit. I wonder what they think of me now?"

Gohan didn't say anything.

Yamcha and Gohan landed. They looked around, and noticed how no one was around.

'Gathering energy, and killing them afterwards,' Gohan thought as he looked around the streets. His eyes started to cloud. 'My dad will fight 19, and his heart virus will start to affect his body. Vegeta will finish 19 off, and then we follow Dr. Gero to his lab where he will release 17 and 18. Should I let that happen, or should I intervene?'

Gohan looked over where Yamcha was.

'Can I really let him get hurt by the androids?'

"Should we stick together, or separate to cover more ground," Yamcha asked. He noticed Gohan's eyes go cloudy, and noticed Gohan's facial expression. Confusion, hurt…all this from talking with Bardock? "Does Bardock know where they are?"

Gohan looked at Yamcha, his eyes not changing.

"He's locating them." Gohan lied. He was trying to figure out what to do, what path to take. Should he take the androids on himself? Should he let Yamcha get hurt? Maybe if he-

"Ah!"

Gohan clutched his head, and fell on his knees.

"Gohan! Are you okay," Yamcha asked, bending down to check on him. Gohan's eyes returned normal, his one eye clenched shut.

"Yeah," Gohan said, experiencing a major headache.

"Why does my head hurt?" Gohan turned his head from the familiar voice, and saw Bardock clutching his head as well. He, unlike Gohan, was standing with both hands on his head. "It feels like a bad hangover! I'm dead! I'm not supposed to feel pain!"

"Over thinking I guess," Gohan said, ignoring the throbbing pain that was his brain.

"It happens," Yamcha said, patting Gohan on the back.

"Well stop thinking and pick a future," Bardock growled. "Or wing it! I don't care! I just want this headache gone!"

"Bardock says the androids are over there. One looks like a clown, and the other an old man," Gohan said pointing in the direction of the androids. "They are dangerous, so don't get too close to them. They're quick, and if they grab you they can drain your energy."

Yamcha smirked.

"I think I can handle them Gohan. I had three years training, and I'm stronger than I've ever been! You can sit back and watch-"

"As an arm goes through your chest?" Gohan walked past Yamcha. "We approach them with caution until the others approach."

"I know your Goku's son and all, but you haven't had the years of training like I've had." Yamcha folded his arms. "No offense Gohan, but I don't think you're ready to face the androids. I know you've been training with Goku and Piccolo, but I don't think you're strong enough to face them. I don't know why you're here anyway. You're only going to be a risk for the rest of us."

Gohan stopped walking and faced Yamcha.

"Then go fight the androids alone," Gohan said.

"Oh boy we get to see the arm in the chest," Bardock said quietly clapping his hands.

"Uh…f-fine I will! I'm not afraid of those androids anyway," Yamcha said as he passed by Gohan. He took a few steps, and looked back at Gohan. "Uh, just how strong did Bardock say the androids were?"

"Butterflies. They have the power level of butterflies."

"I'm sure you can handle it. You do have more fighting experience than I do," Gohan said, his tail flickering. Yamcha gave Gohan one more look, and headed towards the androids. Gohan turned to Bardock. "I'm over using my power."

"Well I could have told you that," Bardock said scratching the back of his head. "I wouldn't use it for a while. I don't know what can happen if you use it too much."

"Brain aneurysm, possibly."

"Just remember, what happens to you happens to me, apparently. I don't want to feel another headache like that again."

Gohan's eyes went cloudy. He winced, and his eyes returned to normal.

"I'll give it a rest. If I remember correctly, Yamcha will power up to warn the others."

"And if he doesn't?"

"Then everyone will feel his power drop."

"That was the answer I was hoping to hear."

Gohan jumped on the hood of a nearby car, and sat there. He felt Yamcha's ki, and kept an eye on it to see what would happen. Gohan had a few visions when he met the androids, and he wasn't sure which one was going to happen. Would Yamcha fight the androids? Would he wait until help arrived? Would he run? Gohan tried tapping into his power, and every time he did a pain would shot through his head. Bardock could feel it too.

Minutes passed, and Yamcha's ki remained the same. Gohan felt the other ki's, and they were getting farther and farther away. There was a chance Yamcha could die if the others didn't make it to them on time. Gohan growled.

"Dammit, I can't let Yamcha go at this alone," Gohan said jumping off the car, and running towards Yamcha. Gohan hit something hard, and fell to the ground. He looked up and gasped.

"Well well, look what we have here. A lost child."

Gohan recognized the man as Dr. Gero. If the androids were here, then where was Yamcha? Gohan quickly stood on his feet, and took a few steps back.

"Don't be afraid young one, I'm not going to hurt you," Dr. Gero said taking a step forward. Gohan raised his power level, alerting the others that he found the androids. "What's your name little boy?"

"My mom told me not to talk to strangers," Gohan said. Bardock flew up in the air and looked around.

"Oh that coward," Bardock said. He pointed to a green dumpster on the ground. "Yamcha is hiding behind a dumpster!"

Gohan looked at the dumpster, and saw Yamcha sticking out his head. Yamcha saw Gohan, and gave him a thumbs up.

"He's making me fight alone," Gohan said to himself. "Fine. Whatever. I'll do this on my own."

"What are you blabbing about boy," Gero asked. "Here," he put his hand in front of Gohan, "grab my hand and I will take you home."

Android 19 stood beside him, unmoving.

"I'm not taking your hand," Gohan said, feeling everyone starting to get closer. He needed to stall.

"I insist. A young child like you can't be out here alone."

"I'd rather be alone than stuck with someone like you."

"Adorable," Gero said with a chuckle. "Well if you don't want to take my hand, how about my friend here? He looks like a clown. You like clowns, don't you?"

Android 19 smiled. 19 shot out his arm, and Gohan quickly jumped up in the air.

"Get him," Gero said.

"Affirmative," 19 said, flying up in the air. Gohan's eyes went cloudy, ignoring the pain in his head. He easily dodged, yes dodged, 19's attack. 19 used his right leg to kick Gohan, but the half human easily blocked it. Gohan's eyes returned to normal for a moment, and grabbed 19's leg. They spun around in the air, and Gohan aimed 19 towards the ground.

19 started falling at a fast rate, but before he crashed landed on the street he stopped himself. Gohan's eyes changed, returned to normal, and watched as 19 shot lasers out of his eyes. Gohan maneuvered himself through the lasers, and made his way towards 19. He was face to face with the android, and punched 19 in the face.

19 was sent flying, and crashed into a building. Gohan shook his head, trying to make is headache go away.

"Gohan!"

'Finally,' Gohan thought as he heard his father's voice. Piccolo and Tien soon joined, and stood next to Gohan. The rubble 19 was under started to moved. The android stood up, and noticed the new set of fighters.

"You did some serious damage," Piccolo said. 19 was dented in the face.

"I learned from the best," Gohan said with a slight chuckle. He looked up at Piccolo, and saw his alien fried look at him with concern. "What's the matter Piccolo?"

"You're bleeding from the ear."

Gohan touched his ear, and felt something warm. He looked at his hand, and saw the dark red liquid on his fingers. He quickly check his other ear, and noticed it was bleeding too.

"I was joking about the brain aneurysm," Gohan said before he passed out. Bardock reached out to catch him, and Gohan fell right through. Piccolo was there, however, to catch Gohan before he fell.

"Gohan," he shouted as he tried to shake Gohan. Goku quickly ran over, slightly out of breath, and noticed the bleeding.

"What happened," Goku asked.

"I don't know. Maybe he was hit by the android."

Yamcha, who appeared once everyone else arrived, was there as well.

"I'll take him to safety," Yamcha said. He picked up Gohan, feeling rather guilty.

"The pain is gone," Bardock said as he touched his head. "He's been relying on that power too much. If he keeps it up he'll kill himself!"

"Bardock, if you're here can you make sure my son is okay," Goku said, looking at an empty spot where he assumed his father would be. Bardock, however, was to the left of Goku.

"Don't worry Goku. I'll make sure Gohan will be okay," Yamcha said. "Be careful. That guy is strong!"

Yamcha flew up in the air with Gohan in his arms. Bardock knew they were heading back to where Bulma was, and knew that they would give Gohan a senzu bean to help.

(PG)

Gohan regained consciousness, and snapped up from here he was resting.

"Oh good, you're okay," Yamcha said, patting Gohan on the back. "You worried me back there."

Gohan looked at Yamcha.

"You were worried about me from behind the dumpster," he sneered. Bulma, who was nearby, hit Yamcha with Trunks' rattle

"You let him fight the androids by himself," she yelled. Trunks was unfazed by her yelling, and was more interested in the rattle she was hitting Yamcha with. "How could you let a child fight all by himself?! And you call yourself a man!"

"Ow! Bulma that rattles hurts," Yamcha said covering his head.

"Not as much as Goku will once he hears what you did to your son!"

"He didn't yell at Piccolo when he left Gohan alone for six months!"

"Piccolo didn't hide behind a dumpster!"

Gohan's eyes went cloudy.

"It doesn't hurt," Gohan said as his eyes returned to normal. Bulma was starting to chase Yamcha, still hitting him with the rattle. He looked over and saw Bardock sitting next to him. "What do you think happened?"

"I'm guessing your brain can only take so much strain," Bardock said. "You've been using it a lot to try and figure out what future you want. Can't you just pick one, and see how it goes?"

"But there's so many Bardock. How am I supposed to save the world if I can't see it?"

"Listen Gohan, when I was alive I couldn't experiment with the power like you can. Honestly, I don't think my power is as advanced as yours. I only saw one future, and it played out until I died. Most of the visions we've seen are similar, and I know you memorized all of the outcomes in every vision."

"That's true," Gohan said with a sigh. Bulma stopped chasing Yamcha, and both stood behind Gohan. "I just want to become a super saiyan quickly."

Bulma squatted down next to Gohan.

"You will sweetie. You are Goku's son. I'm sure you will become a super saiyan just like him," Bulma said as she put her hand on his shoulder. "You watched your father transform. I know a lot of strength to…"

"What did your dad say? Release your emotions? Set them free or something," Bardock said. Bulma's voice faded in the background. "Kakarot became a super saiyan through raw emotion. You do as well, because your father pushed you to where you need to be. You need to remember the pain, the lives that were lost during your fights. Piccolo, the Namekians on Namek…remember that."

"But that needed to happen," Gohan said as he looked at Bardock. Bulma stopped talking, once she realized that Gohan wasn't listening to her. "If that didn't happen then…"

"Vegeta killed Namekians. They weren't brought back to life Gohan; they are still dead." Gohan gasped. "They have families, friends, and they will never return to them. Why? Because you were too busy trying to replace the future."

"How can you be so mean?" Gohan stood up.

"Uh, we should let them be," Yamcha said as he pulled Bulma away. He grabbed Yajirobe, who stood silent the whole time. Gohan talking to ghost was something no one could get used to.

"I don't know why you're so surprised. You already knew about that before we went to Namek," Bardock said.

"But it's not my fault," Gohan yelled. Yamcha flew a bit faster as Gohan's power level increased. The dirt and rocks that were on the ground started to surround Gohan. "I made sure my father turned into a super saiyan so Trunks could be born!"

"And you ignored the lives of others that you were determined to save."

"There was nothing I could do! You told me not to change anything!"

"But you still did…"

"Why are you putting the blame on me?" Bardock watched as Gohan's anger was seeping through. The ground around them began to shake. "It's not like I asked to have this power!"

"You can't even control it." Gohan growled under his breath. Bardock noticed Gohan's eyes changing. He couldn't help but smirk.

"What are you smiling for?"

"You wanna know why you can't control your power? You passed out because you used too much of it. Yamcha saw the whole thing. You were able to hit Android 19, but you passed out because you are still too weak to control your power."

A golden aura surrounded Gohan. Bardock had to push a few more buttons, and, hopefully, Gohan would be able to finally transform into a super saiyan. Gohan was close in the Hyperbolical Time chamber before he was finally able to achieve that level.

"You know what's going to happen? Because you messed up so many times, your future will end in a disaster. The Androids will take over, and everyone you know and love will die. It will be your fault Gohan. You're not strong enough, and no matter how hard you try you will never be able to save the planet." Bardock scratched the inside of his ear. "Let's face it, the future you want will never happen. Your dad will die from the heart virus, you'll probably kill baby Trunks because you don't know how to keep your mouth shut, and you will never amount to anything."

"Shut up Bardock!" Gohan's black hair flickered to yellow, his grey eyes turning into a shade of turquoise. Yamcha, Bulma, baby Trunks, and Yajirobe were in the sky, watching Gohan transform.

"That…that can't be Gohan's power," Yamcha said, his eyes wide. "No way! How did he get that powerful in three years?"

"What are you going to do Gohan, kill me? I'm already dead, and planning a family reunion in the next couple of months," Bardock said.

"You're wrong! You're wrong Bardock! I won't let this planet DIIIIIEEEE!"

Gohan screamed as his power increased. The golden locks stood up as the ground around his gave way.

From afar, Piccolo looked over to where he felt the power. Goku, who was clutching his chest, winced as he felt Gohan's power increase. Piccolo looked over at Goku, who seemed surprised as well.

"How did he get that powerful," Piccolo said. Krillin took a few steps back, body shaking. Dr. Gero looked at the ground.

"That's impossible," he said. Blue prints, videos, and an estimate of Gohan's power level flashed in front of his eyes. "No, my calculations on the child are not adding up. He's not that powerful!"

"Do you want me to fight Son Gohan," Android 19 asked.

"No. Kill Goku first. I'm going to have to awaken the other androids once Goku is defeated."

'Other androids,' Piccolo thought as his attention turned elsewhere.

The power level they felt started to die down. Android 19 noticed that the Z-Fighters were distracted, and decided to attack Goku while he was still down. 19 had an energy attack ready in hand.

"Die Goku," 19 yelled, a demonic smile on his face. Goku spun his attention back towards 19, but was too weak to stop the attack. He closed his eyes, expecting the worse, but a large gust of wind and a sound of metal hitting pavement opened his weary eyes.

There, standing before him, was none other than the Prince of all Saiyans, Vegeta. Goku powered out of super saiyan, and collapsed on the floor.

"Weakling," Vegeta spat. He, like the others, felt Gohan's power level increase, and was not too pleased with the half breed's power. Vegeta turned to Krillin. "Baldy! Get Kakarot out of here and give him his damn medicine. The only person that can kill Kakarot is me!"

"Vegeta is going to be so pissed," Bardock cheered as Gohan's transform of a super saiyan was complete. Unlike the Time Chamber, Gohan was able to control his power a little easier. Gohan noticed the golden aura around him, and looked at a piece of his hair.

"Am I…a super saiyan," Gohan asked as he looked at Bardock.

"No, you're a lightbulb kid. Of course you're a super saiyan! How do you feel?"

"Different."

Gohan could feel the power in his whole entire body. It was something he wasn't used to, and understood why it took him a while to control it. The yellow aura surrounded his body, the power overwhelming. He dropped out of super saiyan, and stumbled.

"Too much for you?"

"It does take a lot out of you," Gohan said as he caught his footing. He powered up once more to become a super saiyan. "It's hard to control this power."

"He said as he simply turned into a super saiyan."

"No, I mean the power running through my veins."

Gohan's eyes went cloudy. New visions of the future flashed through his mind. Bardock saw the changes as well, and couldn't help but smile at a few.

Gohan, the strongest warrior on the planet, and Vegeta, the prince who could never surpass the half breed.

"Bardock…I never had these visions before," Gohan said as his eyes returned to normal.

"I still think you should stick with the original timeline," Bardock said. "Oh, except the one where you kick Vegeta's butt after he exits the Time Chamber. He doesn't need to be at the Cell Games."

"Bardock…I don't think you understand." Gohan powered out of super saiyan, and stared at the older saiyan. "Our visions can change at any time. I was never supposed to go super saiyan just then. I never saw it as an outcome."

"Maybe you missed a vision?"

Gohan stood there, pondering, and then it hit him. Bardock was never in his visions, but his grandfather could change them. Gohan noticed it a while ago, but never thought anything of it until now. Although both his father and grandfather carried the similar trait of…how to word it…not catching on as quickly as others?

"Yeah," Gohan said quietly. "I may have missed a vision somewhere."

But it wasn't possible. Whatever visions Gohan saw Bardock did as well. If Bardock saw a vision Gohan could see it, and Gohan didn't know if Bardock knew. They've been with each other since Gohan was born, and everything came naturally to both.

"The power of the super saiyan compels you," Bardock joked. Bulma, Yamcha, and Yajirobe landed next to Gohan. Yamcha ran over, pumped.

"Holy cow Gohan! You did it! You turned into a super saiyan! We can totally beat the androids now," Yamcha cheered. Gohan smiled at him, weakly.

"It's draining, really," Gohan admitted. "Although we should go back to help the others."

"You bet!"

"So what new vision are you going to choose," Bardock asked.

Gohan didn't tap into his visions. He knew once he arrived to the others, their main concern would be to find Dr. Gero. Afterwards, Trunks would arrive, and tell them the androids they currently fought were not the right androids from his timeline.

And then there were the new visions…

Gohan and his father would still go to the Time Chamber to train for Cell. It would only take six months before they left the chamber, super saiyan in control. Gohan had the choice to wait until the Cell Games arrived, or handle Cell on his own. If he fought Cell everyone would arrive to watch. His father would not be pleased, angry at the fact that Gohan took on Cell on his own.

'Or I can fight Cell when he absorbs 17,' Gohan thought, a smile appearing on his face. 'Krillin would be able to protect 18 and 16, and live a happy life with her. 16 would still be alive!'

With Gohan's new plan in action, he knew to keep it under wraps for a while. Bardock would talk him out of it for sure. His grandfather may be able to see Gohan's visions, but he can't read Gohan's thoughts.

"Ready to go Yamcha," Gohan asked, excited about his new plan.

"You bet Mr. Super Saiyan," Yamcha said powering up.

Bardock and Gohan rolled their eyes. They began to second guess Dr. Gero stabbing Yamcha with his arm.

DONE!

Ta-Da! Gohan finally turned into a super saiyan with the help of Bardock. Gohan had much more training than the original series, which is why turning into a super saiyan came sooner. I'm making him have slightly more control of it, since he can control the power to see the future. Everyone remembers how cool and angry Goku was when he transformed? He had control of it. When Trunks first went super saiyan? We assume he did, since it cuts to years in the future after Gohan died. Vegeta? Well…what do you expect with the Prince of all saiyans

So now were are getting to the turning point, where Gohan changes the future! Everything has changed since Gohan turned into a super saiyan sooner than expected. I'm sure you guys have noticed that Bardock is not in his visions, so if Bardock does something to change the future, it also changes Gohan's visions.

I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, and I apologize for the long update.
