Ghost Whisperer
I own nothing
This is after the Series Finale
"Can't you read one more chapter?" Faith asked over the speaker. Emily closed the book and picked up the phone, taking it off speaker.
"If I read one more chapter, you'll want another one and this will go one for a while." Emily told Faith. "Besides, you have school in the morning and I heard you are getting ready for a big day."
"Grandparents day is coming up." Faith said happily.
"You will need all your rest to prepare for that." Emily told her. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight." Faith said. Emily hung up the phone and laid it on the nightstand and picked up the book she was currently reading. Melinda knocked on the door.
"Jim says he's going to bring you to school tomorrow." Melinda said, opening the door. Emily looked at Melinda confused.
"Why?" Emily asked.
"I'm not sure." Melinda said. "But I have a hunch it has to do with what happened on Wednesday." Emily sighed.
"Ok." Emily said. "That's fine with me." Melinda smiled.
"Get some sleep." Melinda said. "I'll see you in the morning."
"Good night." Emily said. Melinda shut the door. Emily read a few chapters, and soon went to sleep.
Emily walked downstairs with her bag. She dropped her bag next to the chair and climbed in, eating the bowl of cereal that was left there for her.
"Morning Emily." Jim said, drinking his coffee.
"Morning." Emily said, focused on eating.
"What's wrong?" Jim asked, knowing something was up.
"I'm tired, that's all." Emily said.
"Didn't sleep well?" Jim asked. Emily nodded.
"I thought I would finally get some sleep, now that we crossed Samuel Patterson over, but I just couldn't." Emily explained. "I'm not sure why." Emily took a bite of her cereal. "Something feels off."
"Do you know what the something is?" Jim asked. Emily shook her head.
"Wish I did." Emily said. They were silent for quite some time.
"Oh, we're going to be late." Jim said quickly after looking at the clock. Emily looked at the clock, quickly finished eating and put her plate and cup in the sink. Emily grabbed her bag and followed Jim out the door. Jim and Emily climbed into the truck and Jim drove away. Jim pulled into the parking lot, up closer to the building, and put the truck in park. "So I'll pick you up after practice tonight." Jim said as Emily grabbed her bag.
"Ok, sounds good." Emily said, she turned to leave, but stopped when she looked at the school. Her hand was on the door handle, but she didn't open the door.
"Emily?" Jim asked. Emily didn't say anything.
Manny burst through the door, gun suddenly in his hand. "Nobody move." Emily, Andy and the rest of the students stopped, dropping their pens and pencils from their hands. "Stand up." He said to her, motioning her to her feet with the gun. Emily felt her heart start racing. She looked at Andy, who was staring at her, worried. Emily slowly stood up and as soon as she was to her feet, Manny pulled her to him. "You're coming with me."
"Freeze!" Manny grabbed Emily and held her close, not letting her go. The two of them turned and faced a police officer. "I found them." The police officer said into a walking talkie. The police officer held up his hands. "I don't want to hurt you. I just want the girl."
"She is going to take me to her."
"I will help you find her." The police officer said. "But first, release the girl." Manny raised the gun and fired a shot that hit the police officer square in the chest. He fell back from the blow on his bullet proof vest Emily screamed as the officer hit the floor.
"Emily." Jim said worried, shaking Emily out of her thoughts. "Are you ok?" Emily stared at the school briefly before turned to face Jim, tears in her eyes.
"I…I can't do it." Emily said, her voice shaking. "I thought I could, but I can't." Jim gave Emily a hug before moving the truck and putting it in a parking spot.
"I'm going to go talk to Principal Brown. I'll be right back." Jim said, before heading out of the truck. Emily grabbed her phone to text Andy, but just as she picked it up, it started to ring. She answered it.
"Hey, I saw Jim walk inside, what's going on?" Andy asked.
"Where are you?" Emily asked.
"I'm still outside the school." Andy said. "I see Jim's truck."
"Walk over to it. I'm inside; I need to talk to you." Emily said. She hung up the phone and soon heard a knock on the window. Emily rolled down her window.
"Hey, what's going on?"
"I can't do it Andy." Emily told him. "I thought I could, but I can't." Emily said. Andy looked at Emily.
"The fact that you are here in the first place surprises me." Andy said. Emily looked at Andy. "If I went through what you did, I wouldn't have left my house." Andy said. "You're already making progresses."
"What if I told you something else?" Emily asked. "What if there was something that I saw after I had a moment a flashback of what happened?"
"Like what exactly?"
"That Manny is still earth bound." Andy froze.
"Are you sure?" Andy asked. Emily nodded.
"He was standing in the door way of the school."
"Are you sure it wasn't your mind playing tricks on you?"
"Trust me, I've learn the difference." Emily said as Jim opened the door of the truck. "I'll talk to you later." Andy nodded and hurried off into the school. Jim took the truck from park and reversed the car out of the parking lot. Jim drove back to the house. "What did you talk to Principal Brown about?" Emily asked.
"I just told him the situation, and he completely understands and suggests we can slowly bring you back into the school by bring you to practice this afternoon." Jim said. Emily nodded slowly. "What were you and Andy talking about?" Emily looked out the window.
"You're not going to like it, so I preferred if I told you after we got home." Emily said. Jim looked confused, but didn't press on. Jim parked the truck in the driveway and Emily and Jim got out. They walked inside.
"So, what did you want to wait to tell me?" Emily looked at Jim and set her bag down by the floor.
"When I saw the school, I had a flashback of what happened as if it was happening again." Emily explained. "After you shook me out of my flashback, I saw Manny standing in the doorway of the school." Jim looked at Emily.
"Are you positive it was him?" Jim asked. Emily nodded slowly. Jim sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "You know what I think about this."
"You don't want me going anywhere near him, I know." Emily said. "I need to call Eli." Emily said, grabbing her bag and heading upstairs. Jim sighed and grabbed his phone. He dialed Melinda's number.
"Hey, we may have a slight problem." Jim said when Melinda answered the phone. "Manny is still earthbound and at the school."
"How can you be sure?" Melinda asked. Jim explained to Melinda about what had happened when he went to drop Emily off at school and her seeing Manny at the entrance. When Jim was done explaining, Melinda spoke. "We have to cross him over before something happens."
"I know, but I don't like it." Jim said. "As long as you don't try alone, I'm ok with it." Jim said.
"Don't tell me." Melinda said. "Tell that to Emily."
This story comes after A New Chapter
Don't fret, the story is not over yet.
Winter Break, finally. I seriously had no time to work of Fanfics, but I have the next three weeks off and I PROMISE to update more than once. Spring Semester starts Jan. 13th. My schedule is most likely going to be the same as this past Semester (minus the late night classes and my Saturday class)
