Arriving back at the main annex of the dungeon, the Will-O-Wisp that had been leading them did one quick lap around the large room before seeming to wave and promptly disappeared after. "Hm.. Looks like our guide left us. But in any case we should keep going right?" Joshua commented absently as they headed over to the next door over. As the three studied it for a few moments they saw the marker on this one was of one large sword on the right with three smaller swords on the left, points towards the middle. "Any ideas what to expect?" he asked and only received a pair of shrugs in return.

Pushing the door open they entered a long marbled hallway. The presentation of the corridor was one of rich taste, with a flair for the historical. Spaced every couple of meters there were pillars that looked as if they were meant to support for the low hanging ceiling, but were in fact just intricately carved decorations. Each pillar had some etching of an image on it. Many were depictions of battles, while a few others were of still creatures such as deer, bears, rabbits, birds and other such animals. The most confusing of all was that hanging in between the sections of hallway, were paintings. As they walked either admiring the different visual pleasures they passed, or trying to decipher why they would even be there in the first place. This section was so vastly different than the first one they went down.

As the corridor opened up into the final room, one giant piece of artwork captured all of their notice. In the middle of a double staircase stood a magnificent statue, it was of a Romanian general with sandals strapped to his feet and short sword strapped to the leather belt keeping his combat skirt up. The flowing cape that cascaded off his shoulders like a waterfall pooled on the ground slightly behind him. But the most noticeable thing about this sculpture, was what it seemed to be looking at. With his helmeted head turned to look upwards at his right hand, which was held aloft as if to say "This is my prize!", inside was held a red glow. And upon closer inspection, they noticed it was the key.

"That is one hell of a sculpture! So realistic. But this seems way too easy." Joshua said as they observed the object holding the item they needed to proceed. Looking towards the stairs when he heard the echoing of footsteps, he saw Finn running up the stairs to the walkway behind the ancient being. Jumping from the railing onto the statue's back, the young man clung to it like a bug and scurried himself over to were he could climb up the arm to the key. All seemed well as Finn held onto the wrist, but once he reached up to grab the thumb to pull himself up to grab the key it gave way like a lever, followed by a massive groan and a click.

The statue was now a giant of solid rock, and it was quite envious of it's prize. Reaching over with its left hand he plucked the nuisance off and tossed him back at his companions. Jake, of course, stretched into a giant baseball mitt and caught him with no trouble. "Um so I think you made it angry man." The canine said as he put the human back down. "It's fine man, just another giant to take down. Nothing we can't handle." Finn responded seemingly nonplussed after being thrown. "Just a giant?! This guy is not only huge but made of rock, how are you even going to attempt to beat it? Because I know nothing about fighting things ten times my size." Joshua protested as they all backed away giving room for the elemental to step down from his stand.

Finn taking the initiative charged forward hacking away at the legs of the large being. But even the demon blood blade was having minimal effect on the tree trunk like legs. Jake actually seemed to have a better time as he followed after trying to tie up the giant as best he could. Having wrapped up most of the titan's torso, anytime something would get loose Jake would adjust and tie down the arms again. This was keeping the being from using it's quite massive sword against them. Flabberghasted at the two, Josh just stood there for a moment just watching. Until something clicked in his mind, Finn had run back up to the second floor and Jake had streched many arms out from himself so the enemy looked like he was trapped in a massive yellow web. "Jake! When I tell you to let him go."
"What?!"
"Just do it when I say! Finn I need you to jump on his back at the same time. Got it?"
"Yeah!"
"Ready! Now!" The moment that he called out Finn took his running leap, and Jake unwound himself from around the titan as fast as he could. Pulling out the claymore Josh stood by the giant's feet and waited for Finn's impact. Without Jake holding it in place anymore the titan had nothing to support its leaning frame, and the additional weight of Finn landing on it threw off it's balance even father. Leaning forward drastically, and arms wheeling to the sides trying to right itself again it had no chance to block or dodge as the massive blade from Joshua sweeped in under it's front foot. Unsurprisingly the blade did not go through the ankle, but it did force it back causing the titan to fall on its face.

Finn still standing on the beings shoulders let out a whoop as he rode the titan down and readied his sword. As the face impacted the ground, Finn's blade pierced the back of the giants head and sunk all the way to the ground. Jake and Josh were both tossed out of the way by the shockwave from the landing, but Finn remained in place from his hold on his sword. Moments later with dust and dirt still hanging in the air, the dog and older human went to try and find the young boy in the mess. Upon reaching the debris, they noticed that all the was left was a pile of rocks, roughly shaped in a humanoid form and from the head area they saw Finn stand up shaking off the bits of rock that clung to him. " Well that was fun, let's do it again!"

"Finn, one thing at a time please. We have a boss room to open remember? We still need to get the key." Jake reminded his brother pointing over to the faint red glow coming from farther down the rumble pile. This caused them all to groan since they would need to dig it out in order to proceed. As Finn and Josh began picking up and moving the larger rocks, Jake morphed his hands into shovels for moving the smaller stuff. Before long they managed to dig up the key from the remains of the earthen mess left from their latest trial and headed back to the main chamber.

The third door they looked at had the image of a short wavy line going vertically in front of a bow with a drawn arrow. Pressing the entryway open they were greeted with a straight line of sight to the next key. Directly down a perfectly clear hallway lined with shaped stones, the yellow glow rested on a pedestal around a hundred feet from the door. "Well this seems easy at least. But what really is waiting inside?" Joshua commented as they stepped inside. Looking around, it came to their attention that ever stone that made up the floor, walls and ceiling were all the same size. Each was shaped and fitted perfectly against the next, with not a gap inbetween, no mortar or anything. "This is cool." Finn commented on the holder for one of the many torches already lit within the hallway at regular intervals. It appeared to be the head of a lizard with it mouth hanging open as if ready to bite a hand reaching for the torch.

Looking farther down each of the light sources had a different creature displayed, something else that almost went unnoticed was the complete lack of dust or dirt on the floor. "Well I'm going to grab this key already so we can go get the last one." Finn said while looking at his delving companions backpedaling at the same time. Since he wasn't looking at the floor he didn't notice that the stone he stepped on gave slightly. With another step they all heard a hiss followed by a blast of air coming from behind the key. "Whaa?" Straightening themselves out they all looked up only to be greeted with the sight of a swarm of arrows flying down the hall towards them. Reacting quickly Finn pulled out a small round shield he had picked up earlier and ducked behind it, while Jake quite literally flattened himself against the wall. Joshua tried to get behind the stone door to use as cover, and it worked for the most part. The majority of the projectiles had either lost enough oomph or height from their origin that they clattered against the floor. But the ones at the apex of the swarm still managed to make it to the end of the hallway with enough power to shatter on impact. A few of which hit the wall behind the door raining bits of broken wood and metal on the human taking cover.

"Everyone alright?" Finn asked, standing slowly with his eyes on the floor. Jake gave a thumbs up to his bro as he unpeeled himself, and they both looked over to see the soldier coming out from behind the door. "I'll be fine, I just got shafted." Josh said with a slight chuckle as he indicated a short portion of arrow shaft that had imbedded itself in the back of his shoulder. "That's a terrible joke man!" Finn groaned as he came over. "You guys mind helping me take this out?" Setting himself down as gently as he could so that his shorter companions would have easier access to the injury, Josh reached behind and grabbed his pack rooting through it for the med kit.

"Ouch that looks painful. Does it hurt?" Jake asked as Finn got in place behind the other human. "Naw it just tickles Jake..." Josh replied with his voice dripping in sarcasm, which when right over Jake's head. "Oh that's good then." Rolling his eyes at the dog "Grab me one of the more intact arrows if you don't mind. And Finn put this on the wound right after I tell you to pull it out alright?" Josh requested as he handed a white cloth pad over his shoulder which he had doused in peroxide, then took the stick Jake grabbed and placed it in his teeth. "Ready? Pull it out." The soldier said from behind the stick in his mouth. Yanking the rod out as fast as he could, Finn replaced the hand with the stick with the gauze pad. "FUUU~~~~!"

"Pftewy. Thanks Finn." The shaking man said gratefully as the deed was done. "You ok man? You're kind of pale now." Wiping his now sweating brow, Josh waved off the question. "I'll live, but lets be more careful now. That could have ended a lot worse than it did." Taking his free hand and digging in the med kit again he pulled out some tape setting it beside himself before moving to take off his shirt. He needed a proper bandage for the injury, so he got Finn to help him with it before replacing his shirt. "So what did we learn now?" Josh asked as he stood up again gazing ahead at the dilemma in front of them. "That the room is booby trapped" Jake supplied as he had his face to the floor attempting to sniff which stones were the nasty triggers.

"Sure, I was thinking it was a interesting way to get new scars. But that works too." Josh said with a chuckle before groaning. "Lets just check each block before we move. And always step on the same block as the person in front of you. Finn how about you go first since you have the shield. We can all hide behind that it we hit a bad step." So that's how they proceeded through the room, at a snails pace. Finn at the front taking his sword to prod the stones ahead of them, if it wiggled they would move around it and continue on. There were a few occasions where Finn pushed a little too hard and activated another trap, causing the animal faces to the left and right to shoot flames. Or spikes to shoot up from the trapped stone, or some other devastating horror, eventually they made it to the key though.

"UGH! about time! I'm getting hungry."Jake complained as they headed up the few stairs to the key. "We can eat lunch once we get out of this room bro." Finn said reaching for the key. "Wait! Finn, Jake be ready to run and I mean run Fast. This whole thing reminds me of a movie I watched a long time ago." Finn nodded and reached for the key once more. And as they had grown accustomed to in this dungeon, a rumbling started once again. As well as the sounds of something falling and rolling multiple times. "GOGOGOGOGOGO!" Joshua shouted as he took off grabbing Jakes arm and Finn's wrist dragging them behind himself as he took off. Behind them the pedestal the key had been resting on was demolished as a large boulder was spit out of the ceiling to land on it and start rolling after the trio. Not caring about the traps, and just running they made it through the door and jumped to either side just in case the stone door frame wasn't enough to keep the massive ball of death from chasing them into the chamber.

As they sat up after the impact of the boulder coming to a stop they heard a rather large rumbling, originating from one magical dog's stomach. "LUNCH TIME!" Jake shouted with glee, already forgetting about the near death experience. Finn lost it and rolled on the floor, giggling like a madman, before calming down and began rooting through his pack for the meals they had packed earlier in the day. And Josh just sat staring at the brothers acting like this was something normal, before breaking into a grin himself. He couldn't deny that the whole experience so far, while taxing, was fun. Maybe he could adapt to living in this new time after all.

After taking their break to eat, and Jake letting out a few of those famous belches that could shake the world, they got ready for the last of the doors before the big 'boss fight'. "Jake I know you're magical in nature, but it amazes me how much food you manage to put away." Josh commented as they headed to the door. "If you thought that was amazing, you should see him at the Ice Cream Feastival. He LOVES ice cream." Finn replied, earning a harrumph from Jake who murmured something about the deliciousness of the frozen treat.

The final entryway was marked with a cube with a question mark inside. "Oh my, really? A 'Mystery Box'? Please don't be Lakitu..." Joshua muttered to himself as they pushed open the door. Inside was something none of them expected, there was a vast field of grass, flowers, and rolling hills, as well as a clear blue sky smudged only by a few wispy clouds and the bright yellow sun hanging overhead. "Alright you two, I'm done. My mind is now officially fried." Joshua said is awestruck wonder at the gentle beauty in front of them. "Oh hey look!" Finn called beckoning over the other two. There was a pond nestled in a small valley between three hills with a glowing blue essence hanging over it. As they neared the edge of the water he became more apparent that the glow was caused by two things, not just one.

The first being the final key, and the second being an old 'friend'. Jake, stretching himself out over the water, indicated his intent for the key, only to have the Will-O-Wisp pull it just out of reach. "Hey! Do you mind? We just need to key." Jake complained as he redirected himself towards the key's new location. Once again the small sprite pulled the key away, however this time it chuckled. Getting slightly frustrated Jake just reached with an arm, only to miss again and earn another chuckle. "Oh dear, so this is where the trouble maker shows up huh?" Josh commented reaching for the key from behind, this time the sprite threw the key over the pond and disappeared. "Catch it!" Finn shouted as he ran to the opposite side of the pond, only to be stopped by the blue flash in front of his face caused by the reappearance of the wisp. Too surprised at the sudden appearance, Finn didn't even bother with catching the key, which sailed right into the blue being's grasp.

"Um guys, I think it's trying to play Keep Away (Monkey in the Middle)." Josh groaned from the opposing beach side. "Really? Jake's awesome at that game. Do the 'Jake Net' man!" Finn prompted his bro. "Watch the tail this time dude..." Jake said as he began widening himself into a large circle and sprouting multiple sets of arms around his new circumference. Standing himself up on his newly formed appendages, he formed the main part of his body into a tight weave net so air can pass through but not the key. Grabbing hold of the ground beneath himself he swiveled his face towards Finn, "Ok man lets do this!" Grabbing hold of the canine turned trap's tail Finn began pulling against Jake's rubber band like hold on the ground and going up the nearest hill. After a slight adjustment to line up the target Finn let go of Jake's tail, sending the rubberized dog hurtling towards the mischievous sprite keeping hold of the key. It had been floating in the same spot apparently watching what they had been doing, but made no move to get out of the way until it was too late. It attempted to throw the key anyways but it was of no use Jake the Dog had captured the key.

"WHOO! You got it man!" Finn cheered from the top of the hill before running down. Joshua was also walking around the water to congratulate the victorious companion. "Well that should be all of the keys right? Let's get going then, one final challenge!" He commented as he neared the brothers. As Jake collected all of himself the group noticed a quiet sobbing. Looking behind them at the waters edge the Will-O-Wisp sat just above the ground, looking quite dim and seemed to have a dejected posture even though it had no body to speak of. "Oh that's interesting. It's taking the loss of the game pretty hard it looks like. Wait here a sec." Josh said jogging over the to the small sprite. "Hey there Lil' buddy, what's wrong? You upset about losing?" the older human asked, getting a bobbing motion in response. "I see, Have you never lost before?" Again a slight bobbing motion. "Well as much as I know it sucks, you were bound to lose to those two." He said pointing his thumb over his shoulder at his companions. "They just never give up, I'm sure you would have gotten bored of the game before they gave up. Well... maybe Jake would have, but Finn goes 'til the end."

"Hey I heard that!" Jake shouted from behind him. "Am I wrong though?" Josh shouted back. "...No..." The dogs response earned a smal chuckle from both the human and the sprite. "Hey there see? All better. I'm sure you can find something else to do too, just try not to cause to much trouble, whatever you do. But anyway, we gotta get going and finish this dungeon. Maybe we will meet again?" Josh said before standing back up from his crouched position so that he could leave. As he started walking he heard the Wisp's chuckle again but it was very loud in his ear, causing him to turn and look only to see that the spirit had taken up residence on his shoulder. "Oh so you want to come with me than. Alrighty, I'm sure we can work something out." Josh watched as the being bobbed up and down, but stayed directly over his shoulder has he walked.

"Looks like you got a new friend. Well anyway the Boss awaits!" Finn said before charging off towards the door. This caused both Jake and Joshua to sigh and follow albeit a slower pace. As they entered the main chamber four pedestals rose form the floor at equal distances around the diagram etched into the floor. Each of the pillars glowed with a color indicating which key slot was for which key. Moving around the room, inserting keys as they went, the trio watched as each of the pillars receded back into the ground after receiving its partner.

As the final keystone sank back to it's resting place there was a slight delay before a soft grinding could be heard, giving the feeling of gears turning below their feet. The ground continued to protest against moving as the center of the floor's diagram opened at a steady pace. The newly revealed hole in the floor had a large pillar in the middle descending into the vast darkness below. Moving closer to the edge in an attempt to peer farther into the blackness, Joshua stumbled at lost his footing to the jarring reverberation caused by the completion of the portal opening. This prompted Finn into action without thinking. Rushing forward as he reached out beside him to grab Jake's arm, Finn leapt over the edge after the other falling human managing to catch his wrist.

With the stretchable arm acting as a bungee cord, the duo bounced around slightly as Jake hauled them back up to the lip and hastily pulled them over the edge of the pit. "Thanks guys, that was very dumb thing to do." Joshua said as he finished extricating himself from the hole and the canine's limbs. "No probs man, it's cool." Finn waved it off as a new round of shuddering started. This time it was the central pillar spitting out slabs of stone in segments, creating a ramp with which to descend into the pool of darkness below. This time however before investigating what was going on farther down the hole, they all waited for the shaking to subside. Soon as it did Jake shouted out "Boss Room" then promptly jumped towards the ramp and began the decent. After about their third revolution around the pillar the group's line of sight was getting restricted so each lit a torch to light the path ahead. As they traveled down the only thing visible to them the whole time was the pillar to their left and the pathway immediately to the front and back of them. The right side wall as too far away for even the brightest of flickering from the torches to reach.

Soon enough they reached the end of the ramp and arrived on level ground. While they could still not see the walls of the room around them they could ,however, look up and see the light from the main chamber overhead; the opening looked to be the size of a penny from the vantage point on the ground. With each taking a torch, Finn, Jake, and Josh all decided to look in different directions to see what the seemingly black emptiness held. Even the Will-O-Wisp joined in with it's own luminescence to look in the fourth direction, for it had never been down here either and it's curiosity was winning.

As the group meandered around they found a total of four alcoves around the area, each being formed by and equal number of monoliths protruding from the walls. Finn being the first to circumnavigate the massive pillar, found a hewn stone ladder etched into the side of the monolith. Wasting no time and ascending at a speed of which only Finn would be capable of doing, he reached the top and found two intriguing items. "Hey Guys! I found a mirror and a lever over here." He called as he roamed the top of the tower searching for anything else but finding nothing. "Don't touch anything yet bro, we don't know what will happen yet." Jake warned showing a great deal on uncharacteristic wisdom.

"I got a mirror and lever as well over here." Joshua called form the opposite side of the room causing it to echo greatly. "And I see a reflection over there from our wisp friend. So I'm assuming that there is a mirror and lever over there, and probably one on the other side as well." the soldier continued. Jake confirmed that there was in fact a lever and mirror at the final corner of the room when he explored finally. "Well let's toss a lever and see what it does. Since for right now I don't see anything else to do here, not that we can see much anyway." Josh suggested and Finn agreed, Jake was the one who tossed his lever though. Nothing seemed to happen until Jake complained about dirt landing on his head. Looking up they saw that a red light was getting brighter above the pillar until it was fully illuminated, allowing both humans to see Jake standing on top of his monolith but remained shrouded in darkness themselves.

"So that answers what the levers do. Finn go ahead and toss yours." Josh called as he threw his own switch, which shined down a blue beam of light. Shortly after Finn's pillar shown with a yellow light and the young man headed for the last one. Throwing the final lever caused the final ethereal white light to illuminate the last of the platforms, although this still left a vast majority of the room in a great deal of darkness. "So more have come for treasure and greatness. You will find neither here, for you will not leave alive." A voice lilted from above, smooth as silk and full of promises unknown. "AHH! Who's there?!" Jake shouted, trying to hide behind something but found it difficult since he could not tell where the voice came from. "Who I am is the embodiment of darkness, which resides in each soul of the living." The enticing voice echoed around the chamber in reply, seemingly from everywhere at once.

"While I find that interesting, but that explains WHAT you are not WHO you are." Joshua called out as he regrouped with both Finn and Jake, followed shortly by the incorporeal sprite. "Fine. If you wish for meaningless names and titles you shall have it. I am known as Zongiroth, Feaster of Nightmares." This time the response sounded like it came from in the middle of the group, causing them all to spin and raise weapons and fists in preparation to fight. This prompted a chuckle from the self proclaimed Feaster of Nightmares.

"Well that wasn't too hard was it? Now it's only fair if we introduce ourselves, my name is Joshua Patterson. And my two compan-"
"Your names mean nothing, for they will be lost for all time shortly." Zongiroth interrupted.
"Finn the Human, and Jake the Dog" Joshua finished unperturbed by the interruption. "At least now you will know who it was who you failed against."

"Oh but your memories look so...delicious. What would you do, I wonder if they were no more? OH! I can almost taste the anguish of losing your family, smell the aroma of the depression that followed. I see now why you chose to live the life as a so called 'soldier of freedom'. That sense of justice you had, was it real? Or was it just a feeling of revenge disguised as protecting others from the same fate." Zongiroth taunted from the shadows, seeming to have a multitude of voices. But the unseen enemy didn't stop there, Finn was it's next target.

"And then we have you, little boy, who dreams so big of being the hero all the land needs. But is that really what the land needs? Or does it need a glorified errand boy, for royalty that won't dirty their hands with trivial things? I see you also have many fond memories, as well as sour ones, of this 'Dad' character. But he isn't your real father now is he? You must have asked the questions yourself, why didn't your real parents raise you? Where are they now? That old one, named Billy, he had it right. Evil doesn't just go away, it comes back stronger." The questions came from all around, boring into the minds they were directed towards. Nagging at them, and making them less aware of their surroundings as they turned their sights inward to try and find answers.

"Guys, c'mon, snap out of it. He's just junkin' with your heads. You can't let him do that to you!" Jake said trying to talk the other two out of their encroaching stupors. Before he could try anything else, either verbally or physically, Jake turned to see the grotesque face of their tormenter. The face was similar to that of a large centipede, large mandibles, multifaceted eyes, and long antenna took up a large portion of its dark exoskeleton. The body of the creature looked to be made of the shadows the massive length disappeared into. And lastly where the many legs, the long appendages alternated between supporting the massive size of the seemingly weightless being and waving around slowly as if to add size to the already imposing veiw.

"And lastly we have you. What do you dream of dog? What speck of light keeps you going in that tiny little mind of yours? Is it the fear of going to jail for all those past misdeeds? No, that's not it. What of this human? Is it to care for this 'brother' of yours? Yes that's it, the wish of your father, to keep the crybaby safe. But what does this mean for you? He needs you to look out for him,and he isn't even related to you. Not to mention how this stops you from spending your time how you want to. And what about Lady? This rainicorn I see within your memories, you are fond of her. But Finn takes time that you could be spending with her." Zongiroth questioned Jake as he moved closer to the dog. Receiving no answer from the terrified dog cowering between the two zoned out humans, the boss of this dungeon chuckled maliciously and rubbed it's antennae together as if they were hands eager to begin a meal.

"Now all of your nightmares shall become reality as I consume your happy memories." Moving in closer the bug like creature towered over them to begin. Rubbing his antenna over Finn who was chosen as the appetizer, Zongiroth noticed the blue glow of the wisp racing over to the group, but paid it no mind. The Will-O-Wisp bagen poking, smacking, punching, anything it could think of to try and snap the companions out of the mental bindings they found themselves trapped within. Giving Jake a good double slap to his moldable face, the small sprite began chirping and pointing emphaticly at Finn. Groaning and turning his head Jake look over to see that Finn was just standing there stock still, sword gripped so loosely in his hand that it could slide out at any moment, as the terrifying creature was pulling ghostly wisps of varying colors from Finn's head.

The sight of his brother unable to stand for himself enraged the dog, causing Jake to overcome the stagnant feeling forced upon him. Growing in size, Jake shoved his hand into the floor and pried up a chuck of rock and thew it at Zongiroth. "Leave Him Alone!" He shouted as he charged forward after his throw. Ducking the rock and turning to see the magical canine rushing at him, the beast backed off from Finn and reared up to an even more imposing size. "You cannot challenge me!" Zongiroth roared fiercely, but it quickly turned to a pained shriek. Behind him the large stone that Jake had thrown had impacted the edge of the mirror behind the Dungeon Boss, causing it to catch the light of the glowing key above and redirect it at the centipede like creature. Where the red beam landed on the creature it made smoke rise and a sizzling sound could be heard.

The screech woke both humans at the same time, shaking their heads to clear them they turned to see the middle of the beast coiling in on itself to get out of the light. "What?" They both said at the same time as the blue light of the sprite appeared in front of them capturing their attention, and redirected it towards the other untouched mirrors. "Got it! Finn you get that one I'll get this one. Jake can you handle him?" Josh shouted over pointing his thumb over his shoulder that the muttering demon behind him. "Yeah, he's mine. No one touches my bro and gets away with it!" Jake responded as he cracked his overly large knuckles.

As the humans scaled the monoliths on either side of the room Jake advanced upon Zongiroth. Swinging his fists in a fast one-two combo punch to try sending the beast tumbling back into the light beam Jake was already preparing for the follow up. But as the first fist hit the demon it passed right through, unable to stop the momentum Jake tumbled head over heels landing on his butt and looked up to see the gigantic bug face looking back at him. "My turn." Lunging forward Zongiroth grabbed Jake in his mandibles and began chewing. "Agh!" Jake yelped as he was picked up. "I got you bro!" Finn shouted as he redirected the yellow beam at the two combatants below. Jake felt himself slip free as the light shone off the head of the shadowy being causing it to cry out once more and search for more darkness.

"Yeah!" Finn cheered upon seeing his success. "You shall pay for this. I WILL HAVE MY MEAL!" the cry for vengeance came from behind Finn who turned to see the charging monstrosity of darkness charging at him. "Oh Glob!" As Finn turned to run he saw the blue beam of light swing around the room and illuminate Zongiroth again. "GAH!" Diving over the edge of the monolith the Feaster of Nightmares disappeared into the shadows once more. "I got you Finn!" Josh shouted the behind his mirror. "You are indeed being most troublesome prey. None have ever thought to use the lights before. But it is no matter, you are nothing by yourselves." that silky smooth voice floated down from above causing all of the group to look up and use their mirrors and searchlights. As they were looking around, this time it was Joshua who was the target. "Mine..."

"SHIT!" Turning around rapidly trying to get the mirror to turn with him, Joshua was knocked away then pinned with many of Zongiroth's needle like legs piecing through is clothes restraining him to the floor. Lowering his jaws towards the human's neck, and being in the position to end it, the evil creature did what any good villain does, he started monologue. "And thus ends the life of one of your party, I wonder how they will deal with your loss. And with you will die another chance for you to beat me." This was only heard by Joshua however, since it was whispered right into his face. Zongiroth, too focused on gloating, didn't see the ghostly white beam of light inching it way across the wall towards him and his prey.

"You know I think they will do just fine. You on the other hand may want to look up." Joshua suggested with a smirk even though he was at a huge disadvantage. Zongiroth looked up to see the beam of light had almost reached him. "NO!" Dashing out of the way the beast was pursued by the slow but consistent movements of the light directed by none other than the Will-O-Wisp. Jake and Finn in the meantime had been redirecting their lights towards the shadow demon, but noticed something spectacular at their light beams crossed. The light expanded into a sphere of the two swirling colors of yellow and red, giving an impression of a small sun sitting in the middle of their platforms. The illumination this phenomenon caused did not fill the room completely however, and still left places for Zongiroth to hide even though we was still being pursued.

Standing back up Josh grabbed hold of his blue light mirror and began turning it towards the sphere of light. "Let's see that this does!" He cried out as the beam connected, this causes the sphere to grow again in size and change to a brilliant white light shooting rays of light that bounced haphazardly around the room. Zongiroth had nowhere to hide in the shadows anymore, and was getting desperate as the light burned his very being. He was closest to Jake due to his flight from sprites incessant corralling, so he made a last ditch effort and leap for both Jake and his mirror in an attempt to save himself. "YOU SHALL DIE!" the Boss cried out as it's body hissed and smoked from the rays of light it gave off an even more frightful vision than it had in the ambiguity of darkness. "OH CRAP!" Jake did the first thing that came to mind, he got small. Like REALLY small, and Zongiroth sailed right over him right into the the ball of light.

A swirling mass of darkness could be seen within the core of the light sphere, and it seemed to be angrily trying to escape. The attempts got more frantic as the sphere began to shrink at a steady pace until it got to be about the size of a basketball. The spinning and the light and the darkness within increased becoming unstable, until it just imploded leaving nothing but sparkling dust flying out in all directions. As the dust settled over the entire room the small outline of a door could bee seen at the base oh the pillar they had used to get down in the first place. "HUZZAH!" The brothers cheered as they jumped and fist pumped in celebration. Regrouping at the newly revealed doorway they headed inside to find the treasure room of the dungeon. Jake looked over at Josh and laughed upon seeing the dumbfounded expression on his face. "And there is your first dungeon. Now we get to pick the loot." The dog said indicating Finn who was already rummaging through the pile of glittering gems and metals.

"Well that was most definitely an experience I will never forget." Joshua commented as they left the underground area and headed back for the treehouse. Finn leading the way with various trinkets hugged in his arms, and Jake beside him with his loot stuffed into various folds of himself laughed in glee. "Anyway let's hurry back guys. I gotta talk to you about something after we eat." The soldier continued as he watched his companions jubilation allowing himself a small smile as he looked down at his own prizes:a bag of coins, set of bracers, and the claymore he had picked up early on. The bracers and the blade had magic to them but none of the companions could tell what it was however so they had decided to see Choose Goose about them the next day.

"All good things can't last forever can they?" Josh murmured, giving voice to his thoughts rather than actually expecting an answer.

Once more I apologize for the inconsistency of my updates. A combination or mental blocks, procrastination, as well as various forms of work popping up have not been conducive to writing as often as I would like or as often as more readers deserve. And for those of you who are following this story, Thank You.
