I don't own Danny Phantom. And sorry for not updating in a while. I feel horrible for making you guys wait.
Danny woke up to his ghost sense going off. He jumped to his feet, carefully avoiding Sam, who had fallen asleep next to him. He saw movement to his right and spun around as he shot an ectoblast at the person or thing that had moved.
Dani dodged the blast and glared at her cousin.
"Uh, oops?"
"Are you trying to kill me?" the girl asked.
Danny shook his head.
She sighed. "Well, I'm assuming you're what woke me up?"
"Well, neither of us are in ghost form so I'm assuming… no."
Dani bit her lip. "So who did?"
There was a chuckle behind them. The duo spun around, Danny hands and eyes glowing neon blue and Danielle's hands and eyes glowing neon green.
Nocturne was there arms folded and a smirk on his face. "Hello, ghost children."
Dani and Danny were silent for a second before Danielle jumped into the air and fired an ice blast, freezing him. Danny followed her and slammed his heel into the frozen ghost, shattering it into pieces.
"Nice," Dani commented.
They both gasped when Nocturne reformed, an angry look on his face. The ghost looked between the clone and her original before glaring at Danny.
"Well, Daniel," he said, abandoning his normal nicknames for the boy. "I'm going to go easy on you, since your fear is so bad."
Danny shivered.
Nocturne smirked. "Who would have guessed that the teenager who stares evil in the eye on a daily basis is afraid of his own future self?"
A very inhuman growl came from Danny. The teen's eyes were glowing a neon green that would've terrified people like Dash.
"I think you might want to move away from the subject of Danny's fear before he turns you into a pile of ectoplasmic goo," Danielle recommended.
Nocturne glanced at her before clearing his throat again. "Miss Manson is afraid of the color pink, Miss Fenton—" He paused for a second, looking at Dani. "—Miss Jasmine Fenton is afraid of being married to Dash Baxter, and Miss Sanchez is afraid of being Paulina Fenton." He pointed past Danielle and Danny to where Jazz, Sam, and Paulina were sleeping. "They'll experience those in the way I do best." The ghost smirked. "Dreaming." With that he was gone as if he'd never been there.
"Dreaming?" Dani repeated. "That's not exciting at all."
Danny shrugged. "He said he was going to go easy on us. After all, after this there's only Valerie, you, and me left."
He walked over to Sam and knelt down next to her. "I'll go into Sam's dream and you go into Paulina's dream. If you wake Paulina up first, go to Jazz's dream. If I wake Sam up first, I'll go into Jazz's dream while you distract Paulina once she wakes up."
Dani paused, thinking that over before nodding. Danny smiled and took a deep breath before plunging into Sam's dream.
The first thing Danny noticed was that it was dark. The second thing he noticed was that he was in Mr. Lancer's classroom in Casper High. He waited for a second to allow his night vision to kick in before looking around the room with his now-glowing green eyes. Seeing nothing, he walked out into the hallway.
Sam. He had to find Sam.
Danny looked up and down the hallway. There was not a soul, dead or alive, in sight. He sighed before he heard a noise around the corner. His head snapped around so fast that if someone else was watching, it would've looked like an animation with a few frames missing.
Walking forward, Danny lit his hands up with ectoplasm and narrowed his glowing eyes. He pressed himself to the lockers and mentally counted to ten before jumping around the corner, preparing to attack anything if they were to attack him.
There was a shriek and the person swung their flashlight around to illuminate Danny's face. Danny yelped and shielded his eyes with his arm, allowing the ectoplasm to disappear.
There was silence for a second before the person broke it.
"Danny?"
The halfa recognized that voice instantly. "Sam?"
Sam lowered her flashlight and looked at her boyfriend. "What are you doing here?"
Danny held her hands. "Sam, this is a dream."
"A dream?" she repeated. "Are you real?"
"Yes," Danny said. "I'm real. Nocturne woke me and Danielle up and told us that you, Paulina, and Jazz are going to experience your worst fears in dreams."
"I'm afraid of the color pink," Sam said.
Danny nodded. "I know." He looked down the hallway. "C'mon. Let's experience your fear."
She hesitated.
Danny gave her a quick kiss. "I'm here. I'll be by your side."
Sam nodded.
"Alright," Danny said. "Let's go."
Sam followed his gaze to see a simple white door down the hallway.
"I don't have any ghost weapons," she said. "All I've got is a flashlight and my boots."
Danny smirked. "That'll work."
The couple approached the door and nodded at each other. Sam reached out and opened the door slowly.
The room in front of them was large with nothing it. But what terrified Sam was that the walls, ceiling, and floor were all pink.
Her boyfriend looked at her and smiled to reassure her. Sam smiled back before taking a step inside, Danny following her.
The door immediately slammed behind them. They spun around just in time to see the door vanish into thin air.
Danny wandered over to it and felt around to see if it was just merely invisible.
"It's gone," he concluded.
"Yes, it is," a female voice said. "Hello, Danny and Sam."
Sam spun around to come face to face with Paulina. The popular girl looked the same except for the fact that it looked like she had decided to take a bath in pink paint.
Paulina's eyes drifted over to Danny. She looked between Sam and Danny and smirked.
"Hello, Danny," she said, flirtatiously.
"No."
"What?" Paulina asked, stunned.
"I'm over you, Paulina," Danny said. "Face facts, boys only like you for your looks. That won't get you too far in life. They'll always be someone prettier than you." He walked over to Sam and smiled before turning back to the popular girl. "For example, Sam. She's prettier than you."
Sam blushed.
"That and she's smart, athletic, and an individual. She thinks for herself. She's a better person than you'll ever be," Danny finished.
The halfa smirked and turned around to start walking off. There was silence for a second.
Then, the sound of running footsteps came from behind Danny.
"Danny!" Sam yelled.
Danny reached over his head to grab Paulina's hands and flung her over his head into a wall. The minute she hit the wall, she disappeared, merely a creation of the dream world.
"Okay, so Paulina showed up," Sam said as Danny turned to face her. "What else?"
Danny tapped his fingers against his chin. "Maybe Nocturne's going to put something else you fear into your nightmare."
"I also fear…" Sam trailed off, thinking. "…You being brainwashed by Undergrowth."
"What?" Danny asked in confusion.
"Danny!" Sam yelled. "Behind you!"
Danny looked confused for a second before a Mind Vine got to him. He let out a shriek and fell to the floor, attempting and failing to fight the control. His icy blue eyes flashed as they changed to completely green.
Sam spotted Undergrowth and growled. She quickly shone the flashlight in Danny's eyes, temporarily blinding him before quickly taking her boot off and throwing it at the plant ghost. It didn't do much but it distracted him long enough for Sam to run over to Danny and yank the Mind Vine out to free him.
Danny instantly snapped out of it and jumped to his feet.
"Danny, wake me up!" Sam said. "Wake me up now!"
Danny looked at her for a second before grabbing her and kissing her.
Sam's eyes snapped open as she jumped to her feet. Danny fell down to the ground and groaned.
"Danny!" Sam yelled/whispered. "I did not expect that!"
Danny got up and stretched. "Yeah, that's the point."
Sam scowled and folded her arms while her boyfriend smiled.
"Anyway," Danny said, glancing at Paulina, who was still sleeping. "Since Dani hasn't woken up Paulina yet, I'll wake up Jazz. Apparently, her fear is being married to Dash."
Before Sam could say anything, Danny was gone to wake Jazz up.
There was a scream and Danielle fell onto the floor as Paulina woke up. The popular girl got to her feet and looked at Sam.
"Where's your boyfriend?" she asked obnoxiously.
"Danny's using the bathroom," Sam lied.
Dani gasped. "Look!" She pointed past Paulina. "What's that?"
"What?" Paulina asked, turning around just as Jazz woke up and Danny flew to the ground.
Danny groaned and got up while Jazz glared at him.
"I don't see anything," Paulina said with a shrug as she turned back around.
"It… uh… must've gotten away," Dani said with a shrug.
Paulina nodded before noticing Danny. She walked up to him calmly and slapped him.
"What was that for?" he asked.
She glared at him. "I never want to marry you."
Danny seemed confused for a second before remembering what her fear was. He nodded. "I never want to marry you, either."
She seemed shocked.
"Anyway, let's go back to sleep, it's not morning yet."
