The Nations, or what was left of them, all slowly poured into the conference room.

Italy, dressed nicely in a suit, rolled his brother whom was in a wheelchair up to the mahogany table.

"I'll go and get you a water okay?"

"…." Romano nodded in response to Italy.

Italy was being abnormally mature with taking care of him and the entire situation in general, everyone had noticed it, even Germany but he had failed to bring it up in conversation.

From the entrance Russia helped his sister Ukraine, on crutches, walk into the room.

"Thank you brother." He pulled her chair out and made sure she was alright before sitting down.

Greece came in shortly followed by his posse of cats and fell asleep in a chair, then England and France came in loud and arguing again. It was almost like a regular meeting but really everyone could feel an ominous and unsettling gloom hanging over all of them.

"Mon cher, I think we should spend the night together to take care of each other, oui?" France said as he sat down next to England winking and smiling.

"You sod, I hope it does us all a favor and takes you next, whatever it is. " England reached over and poured them both a cup of tea from the pitcher on the table.

Lastly America calmly walked through the door and announced that they would be starting.

"Hey everyone, sorry I'm late." He walked to the front of the table and situated his briefcase and laptop. America opened up the case and pulled out a stack of images.

"Here." He handed them to France "Pass them on down the table."

America plugged his flash drive in and turned towards the projected map on the screen in front of the table.

"Thanks to Germany's DLR and my NASA, we have provided visual proof of the incidents that are taking place in Europe."

Many of the countries were speechless, for one America was organized, and two, the images on the projector showed waste lands and barren plots of what now are considered the missing nations . They observed the maps and slide show as America continued on through the silence.

"As you can see here on these satellite images, many of Europe's nations have started to black out in a sense. They have become bleak and discarded lands that have started losing life in their regions as seen here by the massive dark spots on the map image. If you take a closer look and try visit the country for yourself, which you can't actually do because of the lack of oxygen in the area you would be able to see a noticeable difference on a visual level, which this slide show does provide."

"So what's going on exactly America-san." Japan looked up from his map with a quizzical look on his face. 'What is happening to the nation's lands, are they dieing due to their absence?'

"Well it would seem that way but normally, if a nation dies it's due to the acts of the human. The result is that the aforementioned 'dead' nation disappears from the map, their land is given to other nations and life goes on, but that hasn't happened in years.

" Then does that mean that there is something else killing nation personifications besides humans?"

"Well you see…the hero, me…I…don't really…know?" Seeing America was at a loss for words, and in his standard "I don't know" pose, Germany joined him at the front of the table and began to explain.

"To be clear with you all, we don't understand the situation fully at this time. We do however caution all nations to be on their guard because there is something out there doing something to the nations, we aren't sure if it's definitely killing since the lands are still there." Germany picked up the map and pointed to the missing nations. "From the maps in front of you, you should be able to tell who is missing by the dark spots, but I will read out the names anyways." Germany projected a map on the screen than began to call out the missing nations. "The following regions of land on the map that are no longer accessible by humans or other nations are..." He began listing them, but as soon as he said Belarus he couldn't continue because Ukraine shrieked and turned to Russia. Her whimpers and cries echoed through the room making everyone uncomfortable, until Russia decided to take her outside for some privacy. While he was leading her to the door she began to sob to Russia again.

"Brother it was all my fault , I…it…" Tears poured down her cheeks as she tried to continue. "If I wasn't there, If,…if I didn't…"

"Come on, Ukraine." Russia picked up his sister and carried her to the door." Belarus is strong we just have to wait for her come back, you know she will." They exited and Germany continued.

"Liechtenstein,… supposedly Spain."

Feliciano looked down at his brother and saw Romano was just staring at the map of Europe. Spain's country wasn't as dark as Liechtenstein's but it wasn't the normal shade it was supposed to be on a satellite picture.

Vash was also looking at a picture and seemed to be focused on, of course, Liechtenstein. Even though he had trained so hard to protect her, in the end he couldn't save her. Vash crushed the map in a fist as he thought about what happened.

Damn it.

Vash got up and left the conference room quietly.

Germany continued "And if you look closely you will see the eastern half of Germany has become a light shade of grey meaning, Prussia is missing a well. They have all been labeled abducted nations." He paused to look at the nations many looking distraught over the current events. " Now, I think we all deserve a brief recession."

"But, we didn't do anything da ze , you gave us some pictures and called out some na-"

Germany glared at the asian nation as icy words escaped from his mouth. "Well then I need a break" He left the conference room without looking back.

"I don't understand why he's so angry da ze?"

"Aiya…can't you read the mood in here?" China shook his head at Korea as he came from cowering behind him.

"I won't let anything happen to you da ze~" Korea began to grope China but stopped and returned to his seat surprising everyone. "I'm sorry t...I just wanted to lighten the mood a bit."

"Well, I suppose we could all go get lunch together, if of you are up for it that is

"Your treat Mon cher?" France said

England grumbled and pulled out his wallet. "I guess…"?" England stood up and headed towards the door, with most of the nation's following behind him.

Russia led Ukraine to the garden outside the meeting building and sat beside her on a stone bench. she embraced his scarf as she cried over his coat.

"Brother I-" She buried her head deeper into his chest and sobbed.

"Don't cry anymore Ukraine." He stood up and wiped her tears away. "I will bring Belarus back. I promise okay."

"T…Thank you brother." She sniffled as he helped her stand up again.

"Come on lets walk around the garden a bit before we return, I bet the sunflowers will cheer you up. They're really big here. " Russia held his hands up high over his head trying to imitate a sunflower as he walked towards the garden are.

"Brother, you always did like sunflowers more than anything." Ukraine situated herself on her crutch and began to follow her brother.

"No not always, I like my scarf more, and vodka." He held up his scarf and pulled a bottle from behind it.

Ukraine smiled a bit happy to be able to spend some time with her brother for once without her boss saying she couldn't.

"But most importantly I like seeing my sisters happy." He took off his scarf and wrapped it around her then sipped on his vodka

"It's a bit cool out here today Ukraine." He said as he led her into the gardens and decided to try his best to raise his sister's spirits.

Vash had entered an empty office room for some alone time. That was unfortunate for the person whose office it was because he had completely destroyed it in a fit of rage. Now he lay on the floor surrounded by a mess of paper, pencils, and other office supplies. Hot tears rolled down the sides of his eyes and past his head bandages as he pulled the crumpled map out of his pocket.

I'm so sorry… Lilli..

Vash kick the side of the metal desk imitating the sound of thunder throughout the room on impact. Germany swung opened the door which surprised Vash. Not being able to see through his tears he tossed up some papers from the floor to distract whoever it was then rolled over quickly. Vash pull out his gun and pointed it at the tall figure ready to shoot. All Ludwig could see through the papers was the gun aimed at his face so he immediately pulled his out too. They both stood pointing guns at each other, Vash staring up in the barrel of Germany's gun and Germany looking down at the gun pointed at his heart. Neither of them moved until all of the papers had fallen and settled on the floor.

"…Switzerland?" Germany helped him up from his knees and looked around while putting his gun away . "You did this."

Vash sighed and put his gun away. "How do you just assume I did this?"

Ludwig turned away and gazed out the window a small smile across his face. "Because I did the same thing when I couldn't find Prussia." Ludwig began to pick up the mess Vash had made.

"…Don't clean up after me." He said while he also began to pick up the things he'd knocked over. "Germany…do you think we'll ever see them again."

Germany shuffled a stack of papers before handing them to Switzerland. "It may seem hard to believe now, but I think they're out there somewhere…and we will find them, it's just a matter of time." He smiled at Vash and began to leave the room feeling a bit better about the situation.

Switzerland placed the pencils back in there holder and sat down in the office chair. He slumped over as he watches Germany shut the door behind him.

I hope your right Germany he thought as he looked over and gazed out the window at the bright sky.
