Apollo

I nearly whooped with joy as I watched the questers free my sister from the burden of holding the sky. Before becoming sad as I watched Zoe Nightshade's death wishing I could help her but not being able to as some events the Morai have strictly forbidden me from interfering with.

A summons from Zeus broke my musings. I rolled my eyes and mentally prepared myself in preparation for arguing that was bound to occur in this meeting but when I was about to teleport to the throne room an arrow was shot from my blind spot. While I dodged it I sensed it too late and the arrow managed to scratch my arm. When it did my body started to lock up.

A shrouded person appeared from the shadows holding a bow with a quiver of arrows on her back, the person walked up to me and started drawing a rune on my chest that I immediately recognized, I mean how could I not I created the damn thing. The rune was meant to put the victim in suspended animation indefinitely and cut them off from their powers, I had only taught this rune to five people. Artemis, Leto, Aether, Petra, and ...

I snarled and with the last dregs of my power I sent out a small beacon that only a select few would feel before my body relaxed and everything went black.

Down in New York, three heads raised. Two immediately recognized the beacon for what it was while the other only felt deeply confused about what he was feeling but felt that it was very important. The two got ready to follow the beacon while the one endeavored to call someone who potentially could help him figure out what he was feeling.

"Iris show Aunt Artemis." A feminine voice with a Sokovian accent practically ordered the goddess.

"Mr. Stark, I-I have a funny feeling." A young voice said unsurely into his phone.

Usually, as a Sun deity starts fading they slowly shift their part of maintaining the sun onto the other sun deities who hold the increased strain until another can take the fading deity's place. The sudden disappearance of one of the most powerful sun gods caused the other sun deities to buckle momentarily as the strain of maintaining the domain became much harder. Their brief moment of inattention caused the Sun to darken significantly causing mass panic all over the world.

I looked on in amusement as Zeus got redder and redder the longer Apollo took to arrive, which concerned me Apollo was always punctual. I was distracted from my thoughts when an IM appeared before Artemis. She listens for a bit her face grave before dismissing the message, she turned to us and said something that chilled me to the bone.

"It seems that Apollo has been incapacitated." She stated grimly. Her words caused an uproar.

Athena snorted derisively. "Ha! Apollo 'The all-seeing', The all-knowing' got ambushed! A day to remember!"

"And how did someone manage that?" Hades' oily voice washed over the room.

"Only a few would be able to get close to Apollo without him knowing. Mother is on Delos and I have been... indisposed for the past few days." She completely ignored Athena and partially answered Hades' question.

"How will we find him?" Hermes always blunt went for the jugular of our predicament.

"My Neice and Nephews will find him," Artemis assured. Zeus finally spoke.

"I had not realized Apollo had any children currently alive." It was true, it was well known that Apollo didn't spawn children very often but when he did they usually turned out to be very powerful by demigod standards.

"Show us the one that called you." My air-headed brother commanded. Artemis did so reculantly.

Petra/Wanda

I walked quickly into a meeting room of the tower to see Tony, Natasha, Thor, Loki, Clint, Fury, and Maria Hill gathered around a table discussing why the sun was darkened.

"Listen up! Pietro and I will be gone for the next few days to find our father." I told them bluntly.

"And who is your father?" Natasha asked still casually eating popcorn as if what I told them wasn't relevant in any way, shape, or form.

The rest just looked confused though Thor and Loki looked like they already knew who he was, which they probably did.

"You've already met him two years ago, his name is Apollo." Tony chocked on the bourbon he was drinking, Natasha stopped eating her popcorn, and Clint fell from the vents.

"You mean the same Apollo who trapped us in a room and made us watch the future?!" Tony hacked.

"The very same," I confirmed thinking about how hilarious that was.

"Apollo is a sun deity, so do you have any idea why the sun got darker?" Fury ever the opportunist asked. I nodded and said,

"Dad is either dead or cut off from his domain of the sun. Either way, he suddenly stopped doing his part in maintaining the sun. Contrary to popular belief, the sun is actually a ball of cosmic power. It passively draws more power from somewhere and would expand. To stop that expansion the sun gods convert the power into light and heat. Before you ask, no the other stars are not the same, as far as the deities know the sun is a singularity."

"Now when my brother calls about a weird feeling he's having direct him to look near the Long Island Sound." With that, I left the same way I came in.

Before the elevator closed I could hear Friday telling Tony he had a call waiting for him from Peter.

3rd Person

Kronos was arrogant to think he could trap a god with their own creation. Apollo knew the strengths and shortcomings of the rune that bound him so he knew that the rune could not bind certain things. One such thing is the necklace he always wore but few knew the existence of. It was a talisman imbued with heavy magic and had so many protective enchantments he could tank a few hits from Zeus's bolt before damage started appearing. Some of those enchantments passively transformed harmful energy into beneficial energy. The enchantments slowly siphoned the magic from the rune which allowed him some of his cognitive thinking back. With it, he directed the transformed magic into an illusion to fool his captors into thinking the rune was still working as it was supposed to. It wouldn't hold up under close scrutiny but it would do for now.

An otherworldly beautiful woman entered the cave that kept the Sun trapped. Hecate sighed mournfully and sat on a nearby rock as she looked at her friend.

"If you can hear me Apollo...know that I am sorry for my traitorous actions, but I am bound by my oath I gave to Kronos so many eons ago. And you know that my word is my law just as yours is. Know that I am truly regretful...and know that I will assist Petra, Pietro, and Peter as much as I am allowed. May my words bring you comfort and may your fate be forever bright." She expressed all that she needed to and more. With one last sad look, she teleported away.

Her words earned his forgiveness but he would never forget this betrayal but it would not matter in the end. His fate was coming to an end, there was no doubt in that, he could feel it and he was ready for. He felt his end centuries before Kronos even thought of this plan of his so he made preparations. He had created flowers on Terra that held his domain of healing, he had taken inspiration from the movie 'Tangled' in that regard.

Of course, there could always be complications with his plan and the system he constructed but he highly doubted it. Apollo had centuries to built, program, and improve upon his cliche 'Gamer Reincarnation System' alternately known as the GRS. He had tested it out on a few mortals in Terra once he was sure the system wouldn't do irreversible harm to them, of course. Out of the 10 he reincarnated, seven of them sought immortality. Five of them succeeded but the price of immortality was the loss of the system and any power they gained through it. They of course raged and bitched about it but that little law was written in the terms and agreements of the contract they signed to be reincarnated so all he could say back was 'You should have read what you were signing, sorry'. Now those 5 roamed Terra as basically upgraded Elves. The other five are constantly reincarnated as various beings and objects. A gamer from Earth, Finn, was currently reincarnated as a Dungeon Core.

Time dragged on slowly and as it did, the rune deteriorated rapidly allowing him the ability to think fully but still bound his power and movement. Apollo kept himself busy by reciting the Circumstances that must be taken into account when spellcasting: Phases of the moon and sun, what time of day, whether it's high tide or low tide, the seasons, which Equinox or Solstice was closer, the levels of ambient magic, the state of mind the castor is in, what type of magic was being used, etc, etc. Multiple sets of footsteps caught his attention. He watched out of the corner of his eye as Cyclopses came in and started to set up a makeshift forge area.

'Ah, a Soul Forge.'

To create a symbol of power the Greek and Roman way a Soul Forge is needed. Symbols of power are created by infusing an enemy's soul with a weapon. The more powerful the soul, the more powerful the weapon. Apollo's own bow was crafted from the soul of the mighty Python. Too bad for Kronos though, the moment he was killed his soul would be snatched up by the GRS and he would be reincarnated as a mortal on Terra. Of course, as the Admin of the GRS, he would be given certain advantages but being that Terra had been allowed to progress at an accelerated rate unregulated by us gods there was no telling how it had evolved and changed in their absence.

Soon enough, one of the many immortal mages came in carrying a scythe. She carved out the ritual circle, gather her magic, and started the ritual to end his life. She brought out a dagger and slit both his wrists, letting his golden Ichor flow.

It was weird, the feeling of the warmth of life being replaced with the coldness of death. In his last life when he was dying of a disease, the feeling was like he was drifting between wakefulness and unconsciousness except he was drifting between life and death until in the end his body gave up the fight and he embraced death with no certainty of a next life. This time, however, he embraced death with the guarantee of a new life. His vision started to flicker and he lost all feeling, even the sharp pain originating from his wrists.

"H-ha, the jokes on you I guess."

Artemis fell to her knees as the bond she shared with her brother broke. A scream of anguish never made it past her mouth as thick streams of tears fell down her beautiful face.

Petra's confident stride faltered as her own bond with her father broke. Tears were instantly streaming down her face.

Pietro hugged his sister, the other half of their shared soul, as she sobbed into his chest. His own tears were flowing as he mourned his father's passing.

Peter sat on the roof of one of the many buildings of New York. Tears came down his face in thick divets even if he didn't know what he was crying about.
