Hello everyone! I'm here with chapter 7. I know the wait was long and I apologize but with school I don't have much time.

I wanted to thanks everyone who followed, favorited and reviewed as usual. I love reading your reviews and your thoughts.

Thanks Mafalda for beta'ing this chapter :)

I also wanted to say that I don't know how it happens exactly in prisons so it might not be realistic sometimes.

Chapter 7:

"If I ever get violent with you, can you promise me that you will stay away from me, run away from me?" Klaus asked not sure of himself.

"Klaus, you will not get violent with me. You are not him, do you hear me? You are not like your father." She insisted bringing one of her hands to the side of his face. Klaus grabbed her hand and turned his head kissing the inside of her hand tenderly.

"Oh, would you look at that." A deep voice interrupted them from the entrance of the cell.

Caroline turned her head toward the man who had spoken with a deep accented voice. She was met with a handsome brown haired man with dark brown eyes. He definitely looked like a sexy bad boy. She looked down to see that he was dressed with an orange uniform, definitely a prisoner. She looked back up to see that he was looking straight at her with a smirk on his lips. She unconsciously put herself a little behind Klaus.

"What do we have here?" The man asked looking at Klaus.

"Enzo." Klaus greeted him curtly and Enzo didn't lose his smirk.

"What's your name, gorgeous?" Enzo wondered taking a step inside the cell and looking at Caroline.

Caroline stepped away from Klaus not wanting Enzo to think she was scared of him, which she actually was right now.

"Caroline." She simply answered.

"That's a beautiful name, gorgeous." Enzo stated.

"So beautiful that you'll call me Caroline instead of gorgeous." She snapped wanting to look tough.

"But I think gorgeous suits you better." Enzo continued, "Don't you think Klaus?" he asked keeping his eyes on Caroline.

"Is your little number finished?" Klaus asked annoyed.

"What number are you talking about?" Enzo turned toward Klaus and a smile appeared on his lips.

"Caroline, this is Enzo. He is my cell mate. And Enzo this is Caroline, and she is off limits." Klaus introduced them.

"I'm off limits? What is that supposed to mean?" Caroline asked outraged turning toward Klaus and crossing her arms in front of her chest.

"It means he can't kill you." Klaus explained and kept himself from adding and he can't touch you or flirt with you.

"I thought for a moment you thought I was yours. And that's not gonna happen even in your dreams, Mikaelson." Caroline said even though a little voice in her head was telling her that she wouldn't mind being his, what, no, of course she would mind.

You thought right, Klaus thought not saying anything. He wanted her to be his, but he also knew what Caroline thought about the fact that he was a killer. Of course he wondered if she would see him differently after explaining what had happened with his father and all, but it seemed like it didn't change anything for her.

But he was wrong, Caroline saw how he seemed hurt at her rejection for a second and she felt a little guilty about it. She couldn't see him like a killer anymore, not after what he told her. And she couldn't help but want to hold him in her arms like she had minutes ago. She couldn't help but think of the way he had kissed her hand tenderly. She just didn't want to be hurt anymore so she pushed him away. She didn't need a man in her life and what good would it be to fall for a man in prison? Surely, nothing. She doubted it would make her happy.

"It seems she is not off limits then." Enzo pointed out winking at Caroline.

"I am off limits. I don't need a man in my life, and like I told your friend Klaus, I don't do one night stands. Now if you would excuse me I need to pee." And with that Caroline left the cell surely to pee in another one.

"Don't mind what she said, she is off limits because she is mine, mate." Klaus said turning toward Enzo.

"I remember you telling me you didn't care about women and that you never loved one and wished never to." Enzo remembered with an amused smirk.

"Well, I do care for that woman and I don't share. You touch her and you're dead." Klaus threatened with a dark glare.

"We both know I'm not scared of you." Enzo chuckled.

"And we both know I've killed before. You never did, you're only a thief." Klaus pointed out.

"You once told me you liked me." Enzo sat on the edge of his bed, the one at the bottom.

"I killed my father." Klaus continued, "In front of my little sister."

"Alright then, I won't touch her if she doesn't want me to. But if she wants..." Enzo trailed off.

"She won't." Klaus growled.

"That's enough you two. You look like two kids." Caroline sighed entering the cell.

"And with whom will you sleep tonight, gorgeous?" Enzo asked his smirk back in its place.

"It's not night yet."

"With me of course."

Klaus and Caroline said at the same time and then looked at each other Klaus smiling and Caroline crossing her arms in front of her chest.

"Can I speak to you in private?" Klaus asked but it sounded more like an order as he left the cell not giving any other choice for Caroline who followed after him. Once they were far enough so Enzo couldn't hear them, Klaus turned around and he looked rather angry if you would ask Caroline.

"I don't know why you didn't tell him you would sleep with me." Klaus snapped.

"Because maybe I won't." Caroline said offended.

"You are not going to sleep with a stranger. You don't even know if he's dangerous." Klaus pointed a finger toward the cell as he was half yelling half whispering.

"You've got to be kidding me." Caroline exclaimed, "I slept with you last night and as far as I'm concerned you are a stranger."

"It's not the same. You know my family so I'm not really a stranger." Klaus pointed out.

"Yes, but I was scared, that's why I slept with you. I just didn't want to sleep alone. And I'm scared of heights so I'd rather sleep in the bottom bed and I won't be alone this time." Caroline pointed a finger at his chest to look scarier but she was more adorable than anything else.

"You will not sleep with him you just met him. He might be dangerous." Klaus continued taking a step closer to Caroline.

"And he certainly gave me a better first impression than you did. If I remember well you threatened to rape me when I met you." Caroline raised her tone as well annoyed by Klaus' attitude.

"You perfectly know I would never do that!" Klaus fully yelled this time.

"No I don't! I don't know anything. Men are just monsters, animals." Caroline shouted as tears filled her eyes. She had to push him away because she already was falling for him and she had to stop it before it would hurt her.

Klaus looked at her calming down, "What happened to you, love? Who hurt you like this?" he asked cupping Caroline's face in his hands sweetly. Caroline looked up into his eyes and he brushed the tear that fell down her cheek with his thumb. She brought her hands to his wrists and opened her mouth hesitantly to give him the answer he wanted since he had first seen her.

"You look like an old married couple it's pathetic." Enzo's voice broke the moment and they broke apart not letting each other leave their sight, "Anyway, I'm hungry. Aren't you hungry, gorgeous?"

Caroline eventually looked away from Klaus turning toward Enzo, "Um, no, I'm not hungry."

"Alright I'll go alone to the kitchen then." Enzo announced.

"Oh please, once you are there make yourself comfortable and don't come back." Klaus sighed.

"You are hilarious, Klaus. Don't worry; I don't count on staying in that cell for long. I have to meet some other prisoners tomorrow morning very early at the other side of the prison and then I'll stay with them." Enzo explained before turning around and walking away.

Caroline turned toward the cell and walked toward it. She entered it and opened a small wardrobe that looked more like a locker than anything else. She opened the one with Klaus' name on it and started to look inside as Klaus entered the cell.

"What are you doing?" He wondered frowning.

"I'm not gonna stay in these clothes forever." Caroline simply replied not looking at him. But Klaus perfectly knew she was trying to think about something else and forget that she had been about to tell him what happened to her.

"You won't find anything else than orange uniforms my size in there." Klaus stated raising an eyebrow.

"I admit, orange doesn't suit me well but I guess I have no other choice so it will have to do." She took a uniform out of the locker along with one of Klaus' underwear. Klaus tried not to laugh when he realized she was also going to wear his underwear but it was not an easy task.

"I assume there must be a shower somewhere." Caroline turned toward Klaus.

"There is but before I take you to a shower or even let you out of this cell I want to know what you were about to tell me when Enzo interrupted us." Klaus took a step closer to Caroline who looked down.

"Do you really think it's a good idea to force me into telling you some very private things?" Caroline asked walking toward the bottom bed and sitting on the edge of it.

"I'm not really forcing you, I saw it in your eyes earlier, you were about to tell me." Klaus pointed out sitting next to her on the bed. There were a few minutes of silence before Caroline turned toward Klaus but still looking down.

"Tyler, the man for whom I sang in a bar, I loved him." She started trying not to cry, "At first everything was going well, he was perfect with me. But one day he came back home drunk and he had lipstick on his neck and he smelled of female perfume. I confronted him about it and he got mad. I said I couldn't stay with him if he was cheating on me and I said that I would leave, and he slapped me yelling that he would never let me go. And then he realized what he had done and he apologized, he hugged me and said he would never lay a hand on me again and he kept kissing my cheek as if he was trying to take the slap away and I forgave him. It was just a slap after all." Tears started to swell up in her eyes as she kept her head down not wanting to look at Klaus.

"But then he did it again and not only when he was drunk. Slaps became punches and kicks, a reddened cheek became bruises, and bruises became broken bones. I started to think that I would never survive and he would end up killing me. One day I caught him in bed with another woman and I tried to run before he could put his clothes on but somehow he was faster and he caught me. He hit me over and over again and then when I was on the floor he kicked me and he just wouldn't stop, even though I was begging him to, even the other woman was begging him to stop. I can remember hearing her scream and yell, pulling at his shoulders and arms as I was lying on the floor and he just kept hitting me telling her that I had no right and I couldn't leave him." She stopped as tears fell down her cheeks. No one knew about that except from her, she had never told anyone, how awful her life with Tyler had been. And even though it was a torture for her to remember and tell right now, it also felt good to finally say it.

"I woke up a few days later in a hospital and as soon as I was awake Tyler grabbed my throat saying he would kill me if I ever told anyone that it was him. So I said I didn't know who it was, that I didn't see the man's face. The police didn't really seem to believe me but they couldn't do anything against Tyler if I didn't admit it was him." Caroline felt Klaus' fingers reaching her chin and pushing her head up forcing her to look up. He kindly dried her tears but new ones fell as soon as he did so.

"After this I asked my dad to teach me how to fight but it was not long for him to understand that Tyler was hurting me as I always had bruises. And you know the rest of the story." Caroline finished playing with her fingers nervously waiting for Klaus' reaction.

Klaus looked at her tears falling down her cheeks and he wondered how someone could pretend he loved her and hurt her that much. How someone could hurt such a loving person. And in that moment he felt the anger fuel inside of him, he wanted to kill this Tyler more than anything else right now, it wasn't only something he wanted but it was something he needed. That was his killer instinct and he knew it, but right now he couldn't fight it.

And it also reinforced the idea that he had made the right choice when he killed Mikael. Because it might have been the first time he had hit Rebekah when he killed him, and it might have been just a slap, but he was sure it would have turned out like it turned out for Caroline.

"His full name?" Klaus simply asked and Caroline frowned.

"What?" she asked confused looking into his eyes and the anger she met there took her aback.

"What's Tyler's full name?" Klaus said trying to stay calm but his voice was failing him, so were his eyes.

"It doesn't matter." Caroline answered a little scared all at once when she saw something switch in Klaus' eyes and remembering he couldn't control his anger.

"Of course it matters!" Klaus yelled, "As soon as I am out of this prison I will find him and I will rip him apart."

"And you'll end up in jail once more." Caroline whispered looking away as she remembered why her dad ended up in jail, "You can't end up in jail because of me."

"I don't care if I end up in jail once more." Klaus snapped, "Give me his last name, Caroline."

Caroline was terrified inside of her but she was trying hard not to show it. But the way he had said her name was so threatening.

"No. Why do you even care?" Caroline asked trying to sound strong.

"You can't tell me this and expect me to sit there calmly and just tell you its okay, because what he did isn't okay." Klaus exclaimed standing up and punching the wall once, "And I care because I care about you and no one will hurt you without answering to me afterward. Do you hear me? No one."

Caroline jumped at his action but she didn't say anything. She stood up and walked toward him to put herself between him and the wall not wanting him to hit it again.

"Klaus please calm down." Caroline said extending her arms toward him carefully. As if she was trying to grab his wrist to keep him from hitting the wall again.

"If you always put yourself between a man and what he is hitting, it's no wonder you've ended up beaten up." Klaus growled angrily taking a step back. He was angry at her. He was angry at Caroline for putting herself between him and the wall when he had been about to hit it again, because if he hadn't stopped as soon as he saw her he would have punched her without knowing it. He knew she was scared, he could see it in her eyes, she was scared as hell and yet she still put herself between him and the wall. But he was also angry at himself for scaring her, he hated it, he hated this situation.

Caroline dropped her hands to her sides at his words and she felt the tears filling her eyes. How could he tell her something like this? What was wrong with him? How could he say that just after she told him what happened with Tyler? Before she knew it she was slapping him hard across the face. Not waiting for it, Klaus was taken aback and his head snapped to the side with the force of her slap. He looked back toward her to see a tear rolling down her cheek and guilt took over him.

"I'm going to the kitchen with Enzo." Caroline announced curtly before turning around and walking out of the cell. Klaus followed her and grabbed her arm to turn her around.

"You are not going alone its too dangerous." Klaus said as she snatched her arm away from his grip and pointed a finger at his chest.

"I am going alone! Don't you dare following me. How could you say that?" She screamed as tears fell freely down her cheeks. Klaus opened his mouth to say something but she cut him off, "I don't wanna know, just go screw yourself." And with that she walked away toward the kitchen.

Of course she perfectly knew that even though she had told him not to follow her he would still follow her discretely. She knew he wouldn't leave her alone in the prison, at least not until he knew she was in the kitchen with Enzo. And even there maybe he wouldn't trust Enzo and he would stay close but she didn't care.

Caroline entered the kitchen and sighed in relief when she spotted Enzo. To be honest she hadn't heard Klaus at all and she wasn't even sure he had followed her anymore. Maybe he had listened and stayed at the cell. Or maybe he was angry and he had left in the opposite way leaving her alone. She would be lying if she said that she hadn't been scared in the corridors to reach the kitchen, but happily she hadn't crossed paths with any prisoner.

"Hello, gorgeous. You changed your mind? Are you hungry?" He asked and then turned to face her and that was when he noticed she was crying.

"No, I'm not hungry." Caroline said quickly drying her tears.

"Is something wrong?" Enzo wondered, "Where is Klaus?"

"I don't know." Caroline answered and a second later she heard Klaus' voice from behind her.

"I'm here." He simply said walking further into the room.

"I thought I asked you not to follow me." Caroline snapped angrily.

"If there is one thing I hate in life it's to see a woman cry." Enzo stated, "A beautiful woman such as you shouldn't cry. Any man who makes you cry isn't worthy of you, gorgeous."

Klaus felt his anger rise once more at Enzo's words. It was not really difficult since he already was angry. Was Enzo trying to put even more distance between him and Caroline by telling her he was not worthy of her? He didn't know but he didn't like it a bit and it was really not the right moment to anger Klaus. Before he knew it he was walking toward Enzo and punching him square in the face. He needed to hit someone.

Enzo stumbled backward before regaining his equilibrium and walking toward Klaus as well. They started to throw punches at each other angrily and before Caroline knew it Enzo was on top of Klaus and punching him several times.

"Enzo! Enzo stop!" Caroline screamed not being able to move and get closer, paralyzed by the fear.

And then the positions were switched and Klaus was the one on top, he kept punching Enzo over and over again, his glare was so dark. It was not Klaus in front of her but the killer, she could recognize it. His anger had taken over and if he didn't stop he would kill Enzo.

"Klaus! Please stop you're going to kill him." Caroline cried out taking a step toward them, "Klaus please!" She begged as she put a tentative hand on his shoulder.

Taken aback by the contact Klaus abruptly turned around and Caroline lost her equilibrium and fell to the floor on her butt. She looked up at him shocked and Klaus' glaze softened. He let go of Enzo and stood up going toward her to help her stand up but she crawled toward Enzo and took his face in her hands. He had a lot of blood on his face and hands, like Klaus, but he was still conscious and it reassured Caroline. When she looked back up at Klaus with a disapproving glare he didn't say anything, not knowing what to say.

He had lost her, he had gotten attached to her in only two days and he deeply cared for her but his temper had ruined everything. She had told him things she had never told anyone else before, she trusted him, and now she wouldn't even want to be near him anymore. He always ruined everything. He watched as Enzo sat up with an angry glare and Caroline looked back toward Enzo.

"I think it's not a good idea for you and Klaus to stay together any longer." She stated standing up and not looking at Klaus.

"I'm just gonna pick up a few stuff from the cell and I'm gonna go earlier than it was planned to the other side of the prison where I'm supposed to meet up with the other prisoners." Enzo agreed, he wouldn't test it, he had had a lot of talks with Klaus being his cell mate and he knew his past, Klaus was a killer when he was just a thief. It would be better for him to leave, especially when Caroline was there. It seemed like Klaus had no control when it came to Caroline, they had been in the same cell for almost two years now and nothing had ever happened, and now that Caroline was here Klaus had almost killed him.

Klaus watched the exchange desperate. Caroline would leave with Enzo, surely. But he didn't want to lose her, still if she did he wouldn't say anything either. He watched as Enzo started to walk away and as Caroline turned toward him. She looked angry at first but as she looked at him her gaze softened.

"You look horrible and you have blood everywhere." She stated before turning around and walking away behind Enzo. After a few meters she stopped and turned back toward him, "What are you waiting for?" She asked frowning and he started to walk to catch up with her. Maybe she wouldn't go with Enzo after all.

They arrived at the cell and both Klaus and Enzo cleaned up at the small sink that was in the cell. Once it was done Enzo took his stuff and the pictures that were next to his bed and it was the first time Caroline noticed there were pictures. She could see a young lady smiling and beautiful, she seemed happy on the picture.

"It's Maggie, my fiancée." Enzo explained noticing Caroline looking at the picture.

"Oh, you have a fiancée." Caroline said taken aback.

"We are going to get married as soon as I get out of here." He got a little closer to Caroline and whispered something being sure Klaus wouldn't hear, "He loves you." He said before standing up and walking toward the entrance of the cell.

Caroline ignored his last words, it couldn't be true, someone couldn't fall in love after two days, it was impossible. Even her who had a fickle heart knew it. And yet she found herself doubting and wondering if it was possible. Sometimes people didn't love easily but once they met the right person, their love would be unconditional and immediate.

"Goodbye, gorgeous. Maybe we'll see each other again." And with that he winked and left the cell.

Caroline turned toward Klaus to see that he was looking at her intensely. She decided to ignore it and she also decided to forget about his anger today and the mean things he had said to her. Caroline had always been a really forgiving person.

"Enzo is nice, I like him. And you hit him for no reason." Caroline pointed out crossing her arms in front of her chest. She wouldn't forget how he had attacked Enzo though.

"It was not for no reason." Klaus stated.

"Oh really? Then what was your reason?" Caroline asked raising her voice.

"I was angry. And he said I was not worthy of you." Klaus said raising his voice as well.

Caroline was surprised by his answer. She hadn't been expecting this. He had hit Enzo because he had implied that he was not worthy of her. Which meant he must feel something for her, in some way. Maybe Enzo was right after all and Klaus was one of those people she had been thinking about earlier, the ones that loved unconditionally and immediately. Otherwise why would he react like this? Even though she felt a little flattered she surely wouldn't show it to him because he hadn't acted like an adult at all.

"Seriously?" She exclaimed, "How old are you? Five?"

"Don't pretend you don't feel flattered." Klaus said as a smirk appeared on his lips.

"What? Are you insane?" Caroline asked taking a step back as he took a step forward.

"I saw you blush for a second when I said it." Klaus continued to walk forward and soon Caroline's back was pressed against the bars of the cell as she continued to walk backward.

"No, you saw wrong." Caroline said in a low voice. God this man had an effect on her like no other before. How could he make her forget that she originally was mad at him just by smirking and walking seductively toward her. Her heartbeats fastened dangerously in her chest as her back hit the bars of the cell.

"I know I have an effect on you." Klaus whispered as he reached the bars and grabbed both bars on each side of her head. He brought his head closer to hers until their lips were inches apart and he could feel her breath burning his lips.

"Klaus, please. I don't need to fall for a man." Caroline whispered and the fear Klaus heard in her voice took him aback. She was so scared of letting someone in, so scared of being hurt again, so scared to trust anyone. But she also just admitted that in some way she was falling for him or at least that she could fall for him easily if she let herself.

"I know." Klaus brushed her lips with his and then took a step back from her, leaving her personal space.

He picked up the clothes she had taken earlier and threw them at her face nonchalantly before going back in the locker and taking out clothes for him as well and a towel and shampoo.

Caroline was still breathless from her interaction with Klaus when he threw the clothes at her face and he clearly changed the mood, this jerk, she had really thought he would kiss her but instead he had only brushed her lips lightly. And the worst was that now she was frustrated because she had wanted him to kiss her so badly. Even though her brain was telling her it was wrong her heart had wanted it more than anything else.

And Klaus must have noticed her frustration with his actions because he smirked once more winking at her.

"Remember the nutella thing you did with your finger and then my finger?" Klaus asked and then added not waiting for her to answer, "Payback is a bitch."

"You're a dick." Caroline whispered under her breath, of course she remembered. How could she not remember how she had sucked and licked his finger just to tease him? He wanted to play that game, no problem, she would play. Let's just hope she would not get burnt at some point.

"I'm not a dick, sweetheart. But I do have a dick; maybe you would be interested in seeing it." Klaus said chuckling as Caroline made a disgusted grimace, "Let's go take that shower now shall we."

Klaus smiled perfectly knowing the showers were surely not like she was expecting them to be. Well, there were showers like she expected in the prison but of course Klaus wouldn't bring her to those ones, where would be the fun in that?

So? What do you think? Please leave a review and tell me what you think :)

I guess you guessed that next chapter Klaus and Caroline will take a shower. And even though Caroline didn't get her massage from the truth or dare in previous chapter don't worry she'll have it :)
