"What's the damage..?" Thorin said carefully.

Oin looked at Tyko and said: "Well.."

"His head wound is deep and he lost a lot of blood because of it. Also, it might have caused a concussion of some sort. But we can't be sure of that until he wakes up. The chances are high though." Oin said while cleaning the head wound carefully. Once finished, he got some bandages and wrapped them around Tyko's head carefully. Once he was sure the bandages were tight enough, he nodded to himself and started on Tyko's injured hand.

"What's wrong?" Thorin asked once he saw Oin frowning.

"Well, this arm's broken that's for sure." Oin said and sighed "It'll take a while to heal. He won't be able to use it for a while." Oin wrapped some bandages around Tyko's injured hand and made sure Tyko wouldn't be able to move it for a while. (I don't know how you call that.)

Lastly, he cleaned the smaller cuts and put bandages around it if needed. Once done he nodded feeling satisfied. "It looked worse than that it actually was. The only thing I'm worried about right now is his concussion. If he has one that is. But I have to say that I'm almost quite sure that he does indeed have one. The other thing I'm worried about is that he may get a fever because of all the things combined."

"Do you mean his head wound and his injured hand? That he'll get a fever because of those?" Fili asked.

"Yes and no. Those two wounds are indeed the cause, but not the only cause. Don't forget that he lost a lot of blood and that he hasn't eaten anything this last week. We didn't either of course, but we're much older than he is. Even if he has been surviving in the woods by himself for quite a few years. His body still won't handle the lack of food for such a long period of time very well. All those things combined have weakened his body which may cause a fever. The other thing I'm worried about is that he still hasn't woken up. Which again points to him having a concussion. The question is: How bad is it?!"

Thorin sighed, rubbed his eyes and said: "We'll set up camp for now. Let's see how it goes from that point on."

So that's what happened. Camp was set up in no time and food was gathered. A fire was made and the food was cooked. They had placed Tyko in a few warm coats and made sure he was close so that they could jump in if something happened. It was getting darker and they had decided to go to sleep, which was going to be a much better sleep than the sleep they got with the goblin's. Sleeping outside or sleeping in a filthy goblin prison. Not such a hard choice.

The next morning they were up bright and early when they heard Tyko whimpering. When Dwalin worriedly touched Tyko's forehead in fear of him having a fever his eyes shot wide open and he yelled: "OIN! QUICK! TYKO'S GOT A HIGH FEVER!" Oin ran to them as fast as he could and started treating him. "His fever is high, but we should be able to get it down. Someone get my medicine bag. Also, take some wet cloths with you." Oin said while pointing at his medicine bag. Once he had his medicine bag he got to work quickly.

It was 30 minutes later and there was nothing left for Oin to do. He'd done everything he could. The only thing they could do now was wait. And if he would just wake up they could give him his medicine as well. And some food maybe.

It was 15:00 when they heard something. Tyko was turning and frowning in his sleep, as if he was having a nightmare. Fili and Kili noticed immediately and walked over to him. Fili gathered the little dwarfling in his arms and began hushing him. "Shh, it's ok. It's ok." Fili and Kili kept saying. Because of that Tyko's nightmare passed and he returned to his peaceful sleep. They both sighed in relief and put Tyko back in his bed of furry coats.

16:00 and Tyko was turning and whimpering in his sleep again. Fili and Kili did the same thing as they did before only this time it didn't work. Even when they shushed him, Tyko still kept whimpering. They looked at each other worriedly before they tried again. Only this time Tyko was laying in Kili's arms. They tried everything, but it just didn't help. They had even called the other dwarfs for help. But even they, after trying it themselves, didn't know what to do anymore.

"Try waking him, maybe that works." Someone offered. "We tried," Kili started, "But he just wouldn't wake up." Fili finished. Just then they heard he whimper, just a bit louder. All eyes landed on the half-awake Tyko. "..No…no…l-let..me…g-go.." The barely awake Tyko murmured. "Shh, you're save little one. We're here now." Thorin said taking Tyko from Kili. He tried hushing him again but he just wouldn't calm down. He kept turning and whimpering. Half open terrified eyes kept starring at everyone. Although everyone could see that he wasn't conscious enough to make out who was who and what was happening to him.

"..L-let..me..g-go.." A terrified dwarfling said again. They kept trying to calm him down but it just wouldn't work. Thorin looked up at the others with pleading eyes. Then he frowned and said: "Where's Oin?" Just then a "Here, here." Could be heard and Oin came from who knows where. "Where did you go? And what's that in your hand?" Thorin said or rather asked while looking at Oin's hands. The others looked behind them and they too frowned at Oin who was holding a bottle with some green liquid in it. "Well, it's medicine of course. Confused or not, awake is awake." Oin said while walking towards Tyko. He opened the bottle and gave it to Thorin. "Give this to him while he's still awake. With this he'll be just fine. There is some stuff for the fever in it and some sleeping medicine as well." Oin said. Thorin nodded and held the bottle against Tyko's mouth. "Drink" he said "It'll make you feel better." Tyko being too tired to refuge drank the medicine slowly. He scrunched up his nose, it was bitter, before is face became relaxed again. The sleeping medicine was already taking effect. Everyone sighed in relief. Thank god, he fell asleep.

"Memory loss it seems." Oin mumbled to himself just after they had put Tyko back in his bed of furry coats. Although, everyone heard him. So reactions were soon to follow. "Memory loss? I thought it was the fever speaking." Someone said and it was followed by: "For how long? How bad is it?"

"It's not that bad. And yes it was de fever that was speaking. The concussion just made it worse." Oin said.

"And what do you mean with that?"

"There is not much to explain. He'll just be confused for the following two days. Maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less. But since he'll sleep most of the time, it won't be that much of a problem." Oin finished. The others nodded and took one last glance at Tyko before they went back to work.

Short chapter again. I know, I know. Well, at least it's something. Right..?! Ah well anyway, I hope you're enjoying my story. See a next time.
