This is the final chapter of "The Seven Deadly Sins" and I want to thank all of you for reviewing my story. This is a prequel to "Kiss My Eyes and Lay me to Sleep".
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
Bakura was drunk.
He hiccuped as he drank what he thought was his fourth pint, when in reality it was his eighth. He stole the liqour from a merchant not long ago and the thief king started to go on a drinking binge.
He didn't know why he was doing it. All he wanted to do was to drink, lately he's been feeling an unbearable pain in his body and a horrible headache to the point where he has to drink to be able to fall alseep.
But his dreams are even worse. His dreams were worse than his usual night terrors about Kul Elna being slaughtered and burned to the ground, he constantly dreamt about that day for years and while it was horrifying, he was used to that nightmare.
No, this one was different.
Every night he dreamt about a pair of cat like green eyes and running away from it. He fought in those dreams, while he got cuts and bruises from that fight, what got to him was a sound. It wasn't any normal sound, it was the sound of sobbing.
A woman crying.
And to top it off, when he wakes up he gets a pounding headache, get angry, and then he started to feel sad and guilty.
He didn't know why, and he wanted the pain to stop. He had more important things to worry about, he needed to prepare himself to face the new pharaoh and take his vengeance upon the royal family and kingdom that ruined his life.
However, the dreams were so horrific and painful he had to find a way to make the pain stop and cope with it, that's when the liqour came in.
Zorc looked at Bakura in disgust.
"You're pathetic," Zorc commented dryly, "This is no time to get intoxicated like a common brute, You have a mission to prepare for."
"L-leave me alone, Hic!" Bakura scowled as he slurred.
"Look at yourself!" Zorc hissed, "If the pharaoh and his court see you like this, you would be a laughing stalk! You would be pitied and taken into prison in a heart beat! How can you take him down and vengeane if you're drunk like a common bar thug!? Get yourself together and put that jug down!"
Bakura slams the jug down and breaks it, "SHUT UP! I'm trying to get over this damn headache!"
Zorc scowled, "You're still having those pitiful nightmares?"
Bakura was silent as his hand bled from the broken jug,"...These aren't just normal nightmares, not even about Kul Elna...I can't explain it..but it's always me fighting something...and I always see green eyes...those green eyes, they were like a lions eyes," Bakura stopped himself as he remembered those catlike green eyes in his dream, "I can't get them out of my mind...and I hear a woman crying...I-I don't know why but-" Bakura held his head as the pain came back.
He couldn't explain it, but when he remembers those cries and green eyes he feels incredible guilt that burdens his soul and weighs on his heart. It was like he did something unforgivable, a sin that he can never undo, feeling like he can't do anything now and feels like this will haunt him forever.
But what was it?
Zorc sensed this, and that caused him to growl more, "Allow me to take care of this problem."
Suddenly, Bakura felt a soaring pain through his body and started to scream. The pain was too much for the thief king to bare. Minutes later, Bakura fell unconcious.
"I should have known this would happen. While I erased your memories of Delilah after she departed when you had that confrontation, those nightmares you're having are unleashing the memories I tried to surpress...I should have had you kill her that day, while I took possession of your body when I attacked her, you still remember those pitiful tears of hers when you came to...I should have known...you are that inlove with her even though she's gone and she hates you, and you don't even remember her."
"I've been trying to get rid of her eversince you fell in love with that Greek wench. Your love was becoming stronger than your need for vengeance, I need your hate to destroy Ra and the world and that woman was ruining everything!"
Zorc started to calm down a bit as Bakura fell into a death like sleep.
"..No matter...when you wake up you won't have any recolection of those dreams or any references to her, you will forget Delilah completely once you opem your eyes...rest well, thief king."
