Chapter 7
Hmm…this is quite odd…
Twenty-six-year-old Asuna Uchiha paced back and forth in her bedroom, wondering what on earth could be going on with her right now. She had been sick the last two weeks, but she didn't feel like it was the flu or a long-lasting cold, and couldn't figure out what on earth it could be causing her to be sick for nearly three weeks.
Well… I guess… no, no. It's impossible.
Sighing, Asuna sat on her bed, thinking. She knew there was no way she could be pregnant. She had been told numerous times that it was unlikely until she was finally diagnosed with PCOS, and had gone through several treatments to help her get pregnant, with every one of them failing.
So, Asuna was completely dismissing the idea of being pregnant, not bothering to take a test for even schedule an appointment about it, even though Itachi had told her to do so to make sure she was all right.
I can just go see Sakura… yeah, I'll do that.

Sakura, honestly, was not surprised when Asuna came over to her house that day, because she did that often in order to spend some time with her best friend and her year-old niece, Keiko, and six-year-old nephew, Sanosuke.
But today, since Sanosuke was at school, Sakura was a little bit worried about why Asuna was there. Itachi had told his sister-in-law that Asuna had been sick for a few weeks, but didn't believe she was pregnant, and he had tried to get her to go to the doctor just in case. He asked Sakura if, when Asuna finally went over to her house, she would try and convince Asuna to go get a check-up done, and Sakura agreed.
That was about a week ago, making Sakura wonder what on earth took Asuna so long to get over there and talk to her.
"Aww, Keiko, you're such a sweetie."
Keiko blinked and stared at Asuna, smiling and clapping her hands before trying to grab at her aunt's short hair.
"No, no, Keiko!" Sakura put her hand one Keiko's small one, shaking her head. "We don't pull hair, sweetheart! That's not nice."
Keiko's eyes started tearing up and she let out a cry, while Asuna tried to shush her.
"Oh, it's all right! Sakura, I don't mind!"
"That's because you have short hair! It's harder for her to grab it. My hair on the other hand…" Sakura sighed, looking at her mid-length hair. "Keiko grabs it first thing in the morning and pulls…"
Laughing, Asuna turned Keiko around in her lap so the child could see her mother again, and stated bouncing her up and down on her knee. "Ah, well. At least you have a child who can pull your hair…"
"Oh, yeah, about that, Asuna… Itachi told me you've been sick lately."
"Oh, right, that… yeah, it's just been a cold, nothing special." Asuna shrugged, passing the whole thing off as she tried to pay more attention to giggling Keiko, but Sakura knew Asuna was just trying to change the subject.
"Ugh, Asuna… Itachi told me because he thinks you're pregnant but said you're dismissing the idea completely."
"Well, duh, yeah, Sakura. It's not… possible for me…"
"Of course it is! Asuna, I've told you a million times: you may have PCOS, but you can still get pregnant. Yes, infertility is possible, but it's just one symptom… you should go have a test done at the hospital, all right?"
Asuna rolled her eyes, shaking her head. She didn't believe it was possible even though Sakura had told her that multiple times in the last few years, and didn't want to get her hopes up that she would be able to have a child.
"Fine, I'll go."
But it couldn't hurt to go see about it.

The next day, Itachi was randomly woken up by Asuna poking him in the shoulder, multiple times, causing him to barely look over at her after checking the time on the clock. She never woke him unless something was wrong, it was their anniversary, or it was one of their birthdays. Then she would wake him around six-thirty.
"It's five-thirty, Asuna…"
This time, it was an hour earlier than she usually woke him when something was going on or she had something important to tell him.
"I know, I know," smiling, Asuna nodded a little bit. "But… I… I wanted to tell you something!"
"Now?"
"Yeah! It's good news, I promise."
Itachi sighed, closing his eyes and nodding. "What is it?"
"I'm pregnant."
Asuna's statement didn't register right away, since Itachi was still half asleep.
"All right, Asuna… that's-what?"
When it did, it woke him up enough that he looked at her with shock, while Asuna just giggled slightly with a nod.
"I'm pregnant, Itachi! I want to the doctor after I saw Sakura yesterday, and found out that I'm about ten weeks pregnant! I'll have to have weekly appointments to make sure everything's ok with the baby, but… I don't care! We're going to be parents, Itachi! I just… gosh, I can't believe it! Itachi-"
Asuna didn't get to say another word before Itachi kissed her and made her shut up, not because she was beginning to be annoying or anything like that. He wanted her to know that he was excited, even though it was almost six in the morning.
After the kiss ended, Asuna smiled. "You're excited."
"Yes, Asuna. I am. I told you that you were pregnant."
Blushing a bit, Asuna let out a sigh and hid herself under the blanket, ignoring Itachi as he smiled at her. "Why did you bring that up?! Gosh!"
"Asuna-"
"Ugh, no, please. Yes, you were right, leave me alone about it."
"I love you, Asuna."
It was silent for a moment, before Asuna came out from under the blanket and kissed Itachi again.
"I love you too, darling."
We get to be parents and I'm so excited for this!
