Injustice: Gods Among Us- Error Macro

Ch. 7- Discovery and Decision

Ermac had gotten back into his cell by going through a Hadoport after he had just finished speaking with Superman, who had just giving him a five day death sentence for defying him and denying a chance to join the Regime. He looked up at the security camera pointed at his cell, he knew the Man of Steel was watching him, he just knew. It's then a smirk formed on Ermac's face. He wasn't going down without taking some with him, he was gonna escape, defy Superman once more.

Then the camera turned, seemingly turning its attention in the hallway as two prisoners attacked each other, giving the Vessel some alone time. A thought came to Ermac's head as sat on his bunk.

"I do not accept your offer..."

The Being sat confused, thinking what he had said, he knew what he was saying, but the way he did it. Did this Jerrod take control of him and the souls, telling what he thought to the High Councillor? If so, does this mean he wasn't just an collection of souls crammed into a spare corpse from one of Shao Khan's victories, but a body controlled by a single soul with the powers of various others?

He had to close his eyes and think, just had to think about everything that had led up to this. A thought, maybe a memory then came to mind.

Suddenly the Vessel of Souls was in Shang Tsung's labs, watching the Soultaker (SOULTAKER!... Sorry, MST3K reference, had to.) in his old age at work, seeming to work on a new project. He didn't know what Shao Khan's lackey was trying to make, so the ninja tried to move foward, but suddenly a hand stopped him in place, surprising him.

"No, need to witness this..." A voice belonging to the owner of the hand said to which Ermac looked to see a familar old figure, one he had seen in his dreams.

"King Jerrod?"

The former king of Edenia gave a small hint of a smile. "No, not king anymore. But i wouldn't blame you for thinking such." He said before turning back to watching Shang Tsung work his magic, per say, all while losing his smile, a grim look on his face. "But you need to see this..."

Ermac had turned back to Shang Tsung, watching the sorcerer keep working on his experiment before moving out-of-the-way, showing he was standing over a warriors nude corpse. One that looked just like Ermac. "What the?" The Vessel said, shocked, looking at Jerrod. "That's... That us!"

"To an extent..." Jerrod said as the corpse indeed looked like Ermac, only his skin was more tan, his hair brown and didn't feature the various runes all over his body, but had a huge hole in his chest close to where his heart would be. Shang Tsung had looked around, rasing his hand up as a soul had come out from the ground, smirking and giving a low laugh at this sight.

"Now, to make the fail safe is complete, for when the Emperor doesn't seek my services ..." He said to himself softly before transferring the soul into the corpse and began saying a chant as the corpse's body started glowing green as both Ermac and Jerrod watched, the former looking in surprise as the latter simply kept his eyes on what they were witnessing.

The corpse jerked around as its skin started changing to the paleish green as did the hair to the blackish green and the wound healing up. Then it looked as though various runes started being cut onto its arms, chest and back from the inside out, bleeding before stopping as they too glowed green as the soultaker's chant gotten louder and louder before the corpses eyes and mouth burst open, a green glow coming out as it let out a massive scream, one of many people at once.

Shang Tsung looked at the corpse, who had dropped to the ground, looking confused. "Where... where are... we?" it asked. "What... are we?"

"Your name..." Shang Tsung had said, smirking as the corpse looked up. "Is Ermac, you all are the prime warrior made of various souls, made by the great Emperor of Outworld, Shao Khan!" He said as the corpse, now the newly made Ermac tried standing up, looking at the sorcerer.

"You are... not our creator then?" The creation said as Shang Tsung shook his head.

"Somewhat. The runes all over your body, i imprinted them on you to keep all of you in check, so none would leak out." He responded, pointing to the side, where some pants and shirt had been. "Might wanna get dressed, i am to present you to your master..."

"Alright..." Ermac had said, walking over as the real Ermac and Jerrod watched their environment seemed to morph away, leaving the two in just a blank white environment.

"So... That's all we are?! Not just Shao Khan's monster, but Shang Tsung's backup plan too?!" The Vessel of Souls asked, confused and bewildered at what he had just saw. "How do we not remember that memory?!"

"Well, you have taken some blows to the head." Jerrod said, trying to ease the situation, but stopped, seeing how Ermac was. "Yes, you are the creation of Shao Khan and Shang Tsung's... But not anymore..."

Ermac shook his head, looking at the former king. "You, what about you?! Why were you chosen to be put in us? Also, why do keep thinking of your wife and daughter. And why do i keep referring to myself in the first person when... Well, we are just many!"

Jerrod only shook his head, putting his hand on Ermac's shoulder. "All in due time. But we have another problem to worry about, one that is gonna need your full attention..."

The Vessel of Souls nodded, he knew what Jerrod meant. "Superman..." He answered as both seemed to be drifting away. "WAIT! We need to know! How did we end up in this universe?!"

But Jerrod only shook his head. "Your guess is as good as mine, till next time..."

Suddenly Ermac opened his eyes, he was back in his cell, he looked at the clock, it was only 10:30 am, he had to do something. He couldn't die, he still had many questions that needed to be answered.

He had to talk with the ones known as Anarky and Ambush Bug, see if they had any suggestions of escaping, so he exited his cell, looking for the two, only to stop when he heard a voice. "My dear!..."

Ermac turned and saw it was Bleez, who seemed glad to see the ninja. "You are finally out of the hole..."

"We are too..." He said as she got up from his bunk and approached him, her hands on his chest. He couldn't help but blush a bit at this, again, another thing he had to talk to Jerrod about. "You are... Quite close to us Bleez..."

"I know..." She said, moving back to her bunk, swaying her hips a bit. Ermac was so confused, not just with actions towards him, but the whole deal with Red Lanterns and love. "Come sit next to me, you look tense."

"Somewhat of an understatement..." The Being noted, sitting next to her, putting his hands over his face, concerning Bleez a bit.

"I do sense great rage in you... but also regret... and sadness..." The Red Lantern had said, looking at the man she was interested in.

"It's a long story..." Ermac noted, proceeding to tell her said long story, from his creation, to Superman's warning, for two straight hours, looking at Bleez. "So, we need to escape from this hell hole, if i-WE die... it would be for nothing."

Bleez was shocked to hear all she was told, the most being at Ermac forced to find the remains of his apparent wife and daughter, she looked in his eyes. "I'll help you my dear, we will find those two, we will all escape and end this Regime. All of what i've have done, nothing compared to what they do..." She said, moving her back a bit, showing a slash mark. "That Amazonian bitch, slashed me with her sword and threatened to cut my throat cause i made a remark about her and Superman in bed." She sneered, before snickering a bit. "Faster than a speeding bullet."

Ermac hearing that was confused. "We don't get it." So Bleez whispered what she meant into his ear, earning a look of somewhat disturbance from the Vessel of Souls. "That is disgusting."

"It's most likely true." She said, looking at the wall. "You miss your wife, Sindel?"

"I..." Ermac began in the first person, wondering, he barely knew Sindel, but felt as if he knew her personally for so long, was Jerrod rubbing off on him? "We don't know, we guess, hard to explain." He answered in the third person as he felt Bleez's hand hold his face. "Why do you care about me? Shouldn't Red Lantern's be killed by love?"

"Well, guess so, prehaps my rage against the Regime is larger than any love i have, but you..." The Red Lantern said, leaning closer to him. "You are close..." She said before kissing Ermac deeply, the Vessel admittingly not knowing what to do, but just go with the flow as she laid him down for something he never expected to encounter.

Later that day...

Both Anarky and Ambush Bug were in the cafeteria among other prisoners, playing a small game of chess. Well, Anarky was, Ambush was being his... 'normal' self, if you could call it even that.

"Shouldn't the King pimp out his horse?" Ambush Bug wondered, looking at the King.

"Just put the king down and play." Anarky said before he noticed a familiar figure appear behind Ambush, surprising him. "WOAH."

"What?" Ambush Bug said, not noticing the person, looking at himself and picking his teeth. "Something in mah teeth?" He said before turning to see Ermac, who not only looked a bit disoriented with his close, but had visible marks on his neck and back. "Holy chocolate salty balls! Did... were you... in the shower?... with soap?"

"No, wait, what?" Ermac asked, confused at the last part, sitting down as did Bleez, who seemed quite proud of her work, which Anarky and Ambush Bug noted and it dawned on them.

"Know what, we don't wanna know." Anarky noted, pushing the chess set to the side. "So, out of the hole?"

"Yes and we... As in Us..." Ermac tried explaining, pointing at himself to clairfy. "Have a problem, the Regime... They have given me five days, starting earlier today, to live before they are to execute me."

"Woah, harsh buddy..." Ambush Bug said, for once with a clear mind, patting Ermac's shoulder. "Sucks, really does."

"Indeed." Anarky noted.

"But we gave it some thought and decided to take action." Ermac explained as Bleez gave a smile.

"An action that could not only benefit him, me, you two, but the whole world..." She said to which the other two looked confused, Anarky looking at Ermac.

"What are you planning? And why would we help?"

Ermac gave a look to the Anarchist and nodded, whispering. "We're breaking out and not only that, but taking the Regime down."

Ambush Bug and Anarky were in silence, bit curious, but weary. "Not to be that guy and come down on the plan, but that's easier said than done."

"Hell, just outright impossible! You gotta be Batman to do something like that... Or Jesus... knew a guy named Jesus, owned a taco joint, want one now..." Ambush Bug noted, trailing off as the others kept going over the idea.

"Well aware of that, but if we all pool together our resources, gain some trust with the other prisoners, we could pull this off, nothing is truly impossible." Bleez explained to which Ermac nodded.

"Yes, plus, when we escape, we were told by a fellow inmate that we could get the help of the insurgents to aid us." Ermac noted.

"Okay, for arguments sake, say we do escape and manage to take out some Regime members. We still got two huge problems."

"Superman and Wonder Woman, we know. They're gonna be the highest up the ladder, so they'll be the toughest. But i know someone who could help aid us against them, someone who can't die."

"Oh, some sour cream would be good!" Ambush Bug noted before hearing that last part. "Wait, some who can't- Like Grundy? Sorry, he a card-carrying member of the Regime."

"Who? No. Someone who knows everything about the members of the Regime, who knows their weaknesses and has been around long enough to know what to do."

It was then Anarky realized who Ermac and Bleez, who nodded along, meant and groaned at the idea as Ambush Bug watched. "You don't mean-"

"Oh, I DO." Ermac said in the first person, taking out a cigarette and the lighter from his outfit and lighting it up. "We're gonna recruit Vandal Savage. And in order to do so... Someone's gotta be put in the hole." He said to which Anarky shook his head as he, Ermac and Bleez looked at Ambush Bug, who was looking up at the ceiling.

"Huh, you know there's 47 lights hanging up there." He said before looking at the others. "Why you guys looking at me like that? I know i look fabulous, but still."

ADH- Shit, cue the theme from "The Great Escape"! The four are gonna try to do a jailbreak! And in order to do so, they're gonna need the help, to Anarky's groans, of Vandal Savage! Oh boy. Oh and this chapter, wanted to explore more of Ermac's past with his creation and hint more towards his mystery with Jerrod and such. Also, alluded to a sex scene and yes, that was my excuse for how a Red Lantern could fall in love and not die. As MST3K as has said (paraphrased), just repeat to yourself it's just fanfiction, I should really just relax. SO R&R and wait for next chapter!
