VK Fan Fiction

Hello! I just wanted to let you all know that at the end of this week I will be going on holiday for 2 weeks and I will have limited access to the internet. However, I will be able to write chapters so I should have plenty to upload when I get back. Hopefully, I will be uploading two more chapters after this one before I go away, so that should make up for me missing 2 weeks, right? XD

Chapter 7

21:00pm

Lissy's POV:

The toffee haired girl approaches me, her arms tightly folded across her chest. Looking me up and down, she inspects me as she gets closer. I'm tempted to step back, but instead I stand my ground.

Then, she looks over to the two boys, "Why is there a Day Class girl here?".

"How would I know?" The blonde boy replies.

"Hmph, and I thought he was a 'genius'" I whisper under my breath. He hears me though, and glares daggers at me for it. I simply roll my eyes and place one of my hands on my hips. "You do realize I can speak for myself?"

The girl looks a bit taken aback by my comment. But her expression quickly changes from shock to annoyance. Just like the blonde boy, she seems to take offense rather easily. Bravely, I glance at the boy next to the window. He is still staring at me, like he is...studying me. The more I look at him, the more familiar he seems. I'm certain I've seen him somewhere before, but I can't quite place where.

The next thing I know the smiley blonde boy is right in front of me, "I'm terribly sorry but I'm afraid you cannot stay here miss...?"

"Lissy." I say without hesitation.

Damn, I should have made up a name.

"Miss Lissy. You see, we are in the middle of our class and it is against the rules for you to be here."

Honestly, it's like he thinks I'm one of those bubble brained girls who doesn't have a clue. I'm very aware of the rules, and the fact I'm breaking them.

"You should go back to your dorm now, okay?" He continues, whilst gently pushing me across the room to the doorway. I try to dig my feet into the floor because I don't want to go so easily, but he is stronger than he looks. I know I have lost but I don't give up, and I keep digging my feet, hoping to at least extend the little time I have. I only got a small glimpse at the Night Class but that wasn't the idea. I was aiming to spend some time watching how they work, not collapse in front of them and then annoy them all.

Just as I am about to be completely pushed out of the doorway, I hear a new voice speak. A voice I'm certain I know. "Wait."

The smiley boy immediately stops pushing me and freezes. He turns, and so do the others, to see the mature student by the window is now stood up, facing me. Slowly, he saunters down the steps, right across the room. Stopping only when he is in front of me. "A young girl like you should not be wandering the halls alone."

His voice is almost hypnotic. Almost.

"I shall escort you back to your dormitory."

"But, Lord Kaname!" The other students all seem to exclaim in unison, but I'm more curious to know why they called him 'lord'. Anyway, I can't let him escort me, that will make me look like some kind of child. "Thank you for the offer, but there is really no nee-" I'm cut off by him holding his hand out in front of me.

"No, I insist."

"But I-" This time he cuts me off with a powerful look that means I'm definitely not getting my way.

Briefly, he turns to the smiley blonde and gives him a look that must mean something since the blonde nods in response. Then, he turns back to face me.

"We will be leaving now." He says before leading me out of the room. Despite my hatred for being led by people, I follow him regardless. He seems to be the sort of person I would not want to mess with. Thankfully, he walks at a fairly slow pace, which means I have time to study him a bit more. I definitely recognize his voice, but I have no idea where from. It's like there is a barrier in my mind, stopping me from remembering.

Once we are out of the school building, he stops leading me and falls back so that he is now walking beside me. The sky is clear, with the stars shining brightly above us, along with the moon. Any one else would call it romantic. I call it awkward. We are in complete silence, yet in my mind I'm louder than ever. So many questions, and I'm running out of time to ask them. I want to continue looking at him, but it's a lot more difficult to do it secretly when he is beside me instead of ahead of me.

Then, as if he read my mind, he speaks.

"I would suggest you ask your questions now While you still have time."

I look up to him, our eyes briefly lock before my gaze quickly returns to the ground. "Is there any point? You might not answer them."

"And yet, I might." He replied, with a slight smile on his lips.

"Your voice...I mean you, seem familiar to me. Do I know you?"

He stays silent for a moment. I'm not entirely sure he'll answer me, but then he does. "No. We have not met before this night."

"Oh. Sorry for thinking we had." For a second, I frown, slightly upset that I had been so wrong when I was almost certain. My expression then goes returns to normal, blank. I don't want to appear weak in front of him.

"Apology is not necessary."

He pauses, probably expecting me to ask more.

"That pretty much blows all my other questions."

"You could still ask them."

" I could, but then what would be the point? Surely the answers you give will be the same, or a variation, of the one you've already given me?"

"How will you know that unless you ask them?"

"Ha, now you're the one asking questions." I say with a smile. He does smile back, but it is the type of smile you give to a small child when they show you one of their messy pictures. A sympathetic smile.

The gates of the Sun Dorm are not far away now, and it makes me wonder how far he is going to escort me. I can't really go through the gate because I shouldn't be out in the first place. I will need to use one of the nearby trees to scale the wall, that's how I normally sneak back in after hours. So just as we are about to reach the gates, I stop walking.

"This is as far as I can go. I can't go wandering through the gates at this time of night so I'll need to find my own way in from here."

He looks at me for a minute before sighing. "Of course."

"Thank you for escorting me, even though there was really no need."

"It was not about what was needed, but rather, what was wanted. It was a pleasure, Lissy." He places his hand over his heart as he said the last bit and leans forward a little, as if he is bowing. I feel heat rising to my cheeks but I immediately ignore it. He smiles, before turning on his heels to walk away.

"Wait! There is one question I can ask." I call.

Stopping in his tracks, he looks back to me.

I already know the answer to this question, but I just want to hear him confirm it. "You know my name already. But I don't know yours?"

"You are as aware of my name as I am of yours."

And with that, he walks off into the night.
