Disclaimer:I own nothing
Boomer felt something was going to happen today. Something big. Profound. Something he knew he wasn't going to like. It was like an instinctual feeling that bubbled up in his stomach. The irony of it all was that it had to do with Bubbles. Boomer felt as if something was going to effect the practically non-existent relationship they had with each other.
"What did he say Butters? Oh! I just realized that we never told them we were back home."
Boomer could hear the conservation between the two sisters. He continued to walk toward the sound of their voices. A part of him screamed. 'I can't just listen in on them!'
"Yeah, we didn't. We can't explain why though. Those three can't find out we're vampires. The thought of them finding out is even scarier then trying to tell them that we're engaged." Buttercup drawled. She sounded unmoved by the whole situation. Bubbles on the other hand...
"They can't find out! Mike will never forgive me for keeping a secret like that from him! He'll probably think we're fr-"
Boomer couldn't let her finish that sentence. Making his presence known to the two girls, he cleared his throat and looked right at the blond.
"Don't say that. Never say that." He grumbled.
Bubbles looked to the ground in slight shame of what she had almost said. She made a move to leave, but Boomer grasped her shoulder once he reached her.
"Who is this...Mike? Do I need to speak with him?" A wave of anger flowed through Boomer. He was still as he forced a neutral expression on his face. Or at least as neutral as he could.
Buttercup laughed as Bubbles blushed. Boomer's stomach dropped, and he felt as if his head was on fire. After a couple of excruciatingly long seconds, Buttercup answered his question.
"Mike is a friend of our's. Bubbles liked him in elementary school. She even kissed him!" Buttercup couldn't help but enjoy the shocked look on Boomer' s face
"It was on the cheek, and it's not like I still like him! I wouldn't be able to date him even if I wanted to..."
Boomer slowly let go of the girl's shoulders only to swiftly wrap his arms around her back. Hugging her firmly, he sighed. He uttered a quick "sorry" before letting her go.
Bubbles watched him retreat and questioned what just happened.
"Awkward..." Buttercup let out. Shifting her eyes between Bubbles and and threshold Boomer walked out of, she took a metal note to tell Blossom everything that just happened.
Boomer told Brick everything that happened. Brick decided to ask Sarah about it all. She would have answers, and indeed she did.
"Mike is a friend of the girls. He along with Elmer and Mitch are the girl's best friends. They're human, which complicates things a bit, but they're sweet boys. It's going to be sad..."
"What's going to be sad?" Butch questioned. If they are just friends, what could be the problem?
"Those boys love them. They love them so much. If my daughters were not engaged to you, then it might have worked. I've sensed feelings between those six at least twice before."
This information struck Boomer hard. She said she didn't like Mike, but could she have just said that because he was there?
"Human and Mythic relationships aren't common though. Would the Coven allow that to even happen?"
Boomer could see the flicker of pain in his brother's eyes as Brick asked the question.
"Love is love Brick. Somehow, it would have worked."
"They are human. Buttercup would outlive what's his face!" Butch roared. His grimaced at himself for yelling at his "mom", but the thought of Buttercup giving another guy a chance was frightening. He could barely have a conversation with her now that he knew that the sister's had no prior knowledge of the engagement. It felt as if there was nothing between them.
Sarah smiled and as always, gave an answer.
"Once mated, a human can be turned into a vampire. Otherwise, a bite would kill the human. Love makes it work."
Brick inwardly slapped himself. He forgot all about the "turning". Slowly rising from his seat, he addressed Sarah.
"I'll fight for her. Not because the Coven demands our union, but because I care for her. Same for my brothers." Stalking out in search of the woman he has now admitted to loving, he took a glance at Sarah.
Her smile was serene, and bright. "Love at first sight hit you three too. They say Vampires fall in love fast because we live so long. They faster you fall in love, longer you have to love. The longer a love can last, the stronger it can become." Her words were clear.
Taking their eldest brothers lead, Boomer and Butch left with clear intentions and Sarah's words ringing in their ears.
Buttercup POV
I find myself "cleaning" my already spotless room. Wiping at invisible dust and straightening my bed once again, I feel myself becoming sort of anxious.
"Why am I acting like this?!" Granted, I haven't seen the guys(Mitch,Mike, and Elmer) in so long.
Jumping up and down to get rid of the queasiness that was surfacing in my stomach, I looked out my window in a vain attempt to search for the guys. Specifically Mitch. I was closest to him, and I was honestly very afraid of what I was about to say to him.
All three of us agreed to tell our best guy friends the truth. Mom agreed to wipe their memories if things went south. Though I was grateful for the opportunity to tell them the truth, I was scared. Just as Bubbles, I idly wonder if they will think we're fre-
My thoughts interrupted by a heavy knock on my door, I move to answer it.
"Hey Sunshine." Butch looks straight at my fave as he addresses me, and it re-activates that weird feeling in my stomach. The only difference though, was that it wasn't uncomfortable. It didn't make me feel sick. Anxious, yes. But it definitely felt like something I could get used to.
Shaking my head at my thoughts, I acknowledge him.
"Hey Butch, whatcha need." Tilting my head to lean on the door, I look up at him.
"Letmetakeyououttonight...or tomorrow if that's better for you. Please." His words came out rushed and I strained to understand it all. The fact that he looked ready to slap himself didn't help. Slowly replaying his words in my head, I think I understood.
"Tomorrow is good. The guys are coming over in a minute. We plan on telling them everything tonight and I was wondering on if you could be there. You know, for moral support. If you don't want to that's find. Anyway, if everything goes south, mom agreed to wipe them clean."
"I'll be there if you tonight. You'll be there for me tomorrow. Laser tag?"
I could feel the smile rise on my face. "Yeah, that would be awesome."
He suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled slightly. It was enough for my chest to touch his.
"I'll always be there for you Sunshine." He breathed. With that, he let go of my hand stalked down the hallway.
These Jojos just loved spontaneous action, huh.
Blossom jumped as she heard the doorbell ring. Glancing at the others in the room, she noticed that no one was maling a move to answer it. Her mother urged her with one of her classic soft smiles. Her father did the same. His confidence rolled off him like waves.
The doorbell ringed once more before she began to pick herself off one of the comfy couches. The pink eyed beauty walked briskly to the front door and unlocked it. Opening it, she was greeted by the three faces that plagued her mind all day.
"It's so good to see you guys! Sorry we didn't mention we were here sooner, we came here unplanned."
A deep chuckle louder the the other two sets echoed through the home.
"It's fine Bloss, we're just glad to see you all." Elmer's rich voice laughed out. It was a far cry from the high pitched whistle that it used to be for elementary to middle school. Elmer Sglue himself was a disastrously handsome young man. Braces gone and thick glasses traded in for one that we're much more stylish, he was a classic looking guy. Polos and khakis were his go to and he never strayed from it, no matter how many times Bubbles tried to force other styles on him.
His brown eyes shined as he gently ran a hand through his curly pale hair. Blossom looked at the two that flanked his sides. Mitch slouched as he waited to be let in. Hus random and obscure band shirt half tucked in and his rusty brown hair tousaled,it looked like he and gotten ready in a rush. He brown eyes squinted as he faced the door.
"You need to wear your contacts Mitch." Blossom couldn't help mothering him. Used to the treatment, he let out a groggy "Yes mom".
Mike stood silent with mirth in his eyes as he watched the exchange. Hands in his pockets he smiled as his green eyes met her pink ones.
Everything was going to be okay
