Sorry I took so long again guys... Holidays and school and then a totally random idea for a Xover which btw if you like the hunger games you should check it out. Enjoy the chapter :)
It's been more than a year since I left Will at his house after finding out what he did. After finding out that it was him who id it. I was traumatized all through the 11th grade because I thought someone actually hated me. I'm over it now, Will hasn't tried to find me or contact me in any way.
I have changed my identity significantly because I wanted to have some time being famous. My name is now Abigail Hanson, I have black hair that's always in a French braid and I wear brown contacts. When I told my parents, they thought I wanted to be an actress or something fluffy like that. How far off they were. I decided to play ice hockey. Since I was a kid, my favourite sport was ice hockey, I hadn't played in a few years but for me it was like riding a bike. I went down to the Pepsi Centre in Denver and skated and practiced my ice hockey skills for more than three months. One time, the coach for the Colorado Avalanche team came in and watched me. When I'd finished, he came up to me and told me that I was better than his best player and offered me a place at their tryouts that day. I went, obviously. But I was the only woman there, this was a first for the NHL, a woman in their ranks, and one of the team members laughed, calling out "You missed the ice-girls tryouts, sweetheart. They were an hour ago," when I came on.
So I skated over and punched him in the nose, smirking at his teammates laughter, I leant forwards and whispered, "Not here for those, sugar."
I tried out and became the first ever female ice hockey player to play in the male's competition. For my debut match, I got in touch with the Benedicts and got them benchwarmer seats. I bought them 15 seats because I hoped (for their sakes) that Uriel and Victor had found their soulfinders. I hadn't been back to Denver University since the Monday after meeting Will as my soulfinder, and that was to become an off-campus student. I'm now halfway through my third year.
Everybody except Will showed up to my match. As I was introduced as Abigail Hanson, I skated onto the ice, waving to the crowd. Most people were confused, but still cheered for me because I was on the Colorado team. The other team smirked at me, I could hear their thoughts of, easy game, especially with a girl to play against and, why the hell is a girl on a men's team? The thoughts of Easy Game were gone when we scored the first goal in thirty seconds. Then, they fought back, or at least tried to. We won that game 15-3. During a face-off that Mark, the captain, told me to take, the other guy muttered 'slut' under his breath. I swiftly spat a rather rude profanity at him and got the puck to scored another goal.
When I was pulled off, I sat in the team box right where the Benedicts were sat. I was introduced to Vick's Australian soulfinder, Kirsty. When I introduced myself as Mercy, they looked really confused until I explained who my parents were. Uriel's soulfinder was at the hospital with some sort of stomach bug, but her name is Cassandra.
One of my team members is a savant, he and his soulfinder, Linda have identical twin daughters who apparently idolise me to no end. Ben, who's French-Canadian, ended up eventually convincing me to come out to breakfast with his family, when we ordered, I probably ordered the most unhealthy thing on the menu. At Lina's surprised look I simply said, "Super speed and high metabolism, I can eat whatever I want." She laughed and told me she could sense powers and block them, but she didn't do anything to me because she thought she could trust me. I told them about my soulfinder situation, they said that I have their apologies. The Boucher's are like my second second family (after the Benedicts) on this side of the Atlantic.
I've spent the last year playing for the Colorado Avalanche and have loved every minute of it. Now, it's the Stanley Cup final. My Mom, Dad, baby brother and his soulfinder and the Benedicts all got tickets on the ice, just behind one of the goals. It's also the last quarter, Flyers-7 Avalanche-6. We need 2 more goals, so the coach, for whatever reason, decided to put me on. The Philadelphia Flyers' colours look almost garish next to our blue and maroon-y colour. I grin at the guy who's trying to get in the way of me getting the puck, but, with the advantage of being smaller and faster on the ice, I get around him to the puck and score in one fluid motion. One down, one to go.
Dad is leading a chant of some description in their section, the Flyers players are obviously finding it off-putting, and probably irritating. I roll my eyes as Ollie (our main defender) starts a punch up with the captain of the Flyers, he has some gender-neutral name or something. I don't really care all that much, but I just skate over and pull Ollie off, hissing that we have ten minutes left to win the cup, and I don't want him to fuck up next year's season for himself.
Ollie and the captain both get two minutes in the box, meaning that we're equally matched but both one man down. Ben gets sent onto the ice and we meet each others eye and our duo tactic unravels; we speak with telepathy, in perfect tune with each other, scoring the final crucial goal and never once losing the puck. The goal horn blares and the screams are deafening, we have about three minutes left of the game and then I hear the sound I didn't know I'd ever missed, Will's telepathic voice; You truly are an amazing person, Mercy, guess what? I'm an idiot, sorry.
A million live wires are coursing through my body. God, I feel more alive than ever. It came from the nosebleed section, near our goal. Where is he?
So guys, I know people are reading this, but I wanna know what you think! I'll keep begging until I get a decent response so...
hope you enjoyed any way! I don't mind criticism unless you're telling me that this is bullshit :)
