AN: I DO NOT OWN TEEN WOLF
The morning flies by, class after class, until its lunch time. I meet Stiles outside, near the playing fields, where we arranged to meet. 'How's your day been so far then?' He asks me once we're seated on one of the picnic benches. We're the first to arrive, meaning we have a small amount of time to ourselves. With a grin i go on to tell him about the lessons i don't have with him, which just happens to be two out of my whole timetable. It's pretty awesome. 'We have chemistry next right?' I ask, while slurping some of the red stuff through a bottle i prepared for school. Stiles nods. 'You're lucky. Before the alpha pack and the Darach, we had a teacher called Mr Harris. He was sacrificed by Jennifer, so now we have a new teacher, but he's just as much of a douche as the last one. It's like Harris died, came back as yet again another teacher, and has been set to make the last year of my school life a living hell.' He replies. I frown. 'That doesn't sound good.' I mutter.
The rest of the group join us finally, and we spend our lunch hour being as normal as possible for teenagers involved in the supernatural. A few people give us odd looks, and some give me glares, probably wondering how i managed to get into the 'popular' group so quick, but i don't give a shit. By the time the end of the day comes around, i'm pretty much ready to quit school and never, ever go back. Stiles was right, the new chemistry teacher, Mr Hines, was a dick. He'd obviously been in the military for a while, or brought up in a military family, because he was strict as hell, and treat us all like his personal little soldiers. I did not appreciate it. Derek is in the parking lot when we exit the building, so with a shy smile and a quick hug, i say goodbye to Stiles, and promise to see him at 6:30 for pack bonding. Isaac and Cora walk over with me, and Isaac and I climb into the back, after Cora glared at us. That girl has a serious attitude problem man. The ride back to the loft gives Derek the chance to ask about our days, but i allow Isaac and Cora to talk, not really in the mood. I forget how exhausting school is, and the most annoying part is that i cannot sleep it off. With a quick glance up front, my eyes find Derek's, who's looking in the rear view mirror. He's worried, i can tell. It's not often that i'm quiet, and he can clearly tell something is up, especially since i haven't teased him about his grumpy face.
Giving him a weak smile, i turn back to my window, and watch as the scenery passes by. The place has changed so much since i was last here, it's unbelievably fascinating. When we get back to the loft, it's empty. It seems Uncle P has yet to rear his ugly head from wherever he's been hiding, and i have absolutely no problem with that. The guy creeps me out a little. Dropping onto Derek's bed, i toe off my shoes and lean back against his pillows. The guy raises his eyebrow at me, but doesn't say anything. Isaac looks between me and Derek, clearly wondering why the hell he hasn't shouted at me. Cora is of course full on glaring at me. Rolling my eyes, i come up with a sarcastic quip just for old times' sake. Also because being depressed is such hard work. 'Sweetie, turn that frown upside down! Someone could be falling in love with your smile.' I say with a cheery grin. She huffs and storms up the stairs, hands clenched into fists. Isaac gives me a small grin, while Derek just rolls his eyes. 'Was it something i said?!' I call after her.
A loud bang echoes through the loft, Cora clearly banging her door behind her as she entered her room. Isaac is covering his mouth, shoulders shaking from laughter. Derek has his poker face on, but i see the laughter in his eyes. He knows i'm hilarious. It's just going to take some time to make him laugh. And i will make him laugh. Maybe i'll get Stiles involved. He's a funny guy. Everyone knows it. Grinning to myself, my mood finally picks up. Picking up one of the books Derek has lying around; i open it and begin to read. It's a wolf lore book, obviously one that belonged to his family, if the triskelion on the front has anything to do with it. It's pretty interesting stuff, and i shut out the world to learn about the people who are now my friends.
I'm brought out of my own world when a packet of blood is thrust into my face. Lifting my eyes, i find Derek at the end of the arm. 'Thanks.' I say with a small smile. He nods his head, and looks a tad uncomfortable. Finally, he decides to sit on the bed. Isaac has disappeared, probably upstairs or out for something. Derek looks like he wants to talk. He keeps glancing at me, and i can see the muscles in his mouth twitching every time he thinks about opening it, but he never does. Raising an eyebrow at him, he scowls, and looks away. 'Derek dear, just spit it out.' I say. He huffs, and crosses his arms across his broad chest. 'I just wanted to make sure you're okay. You seemed down on our way back here.' He says gruffly. I close the book, but leave a finger in place so i can reopen it back to the page i was on. 'I'm okay. It was just a long day. I forget how exhausting school can be, and because i don't actually sleep i felt a little down. But i'm okay now.' I admit. He's looking at me funny, and i'm guessing he tried to listen to my heartbeat, forgetting that i don't have one. Giving him a reassuring smile, he nods a little, and stands. 'The pack will be here in half an hour, drink your blood.' He mutters, and then stalks away. 'Nice chat!' I shout sarcastically to his back as he moves into the kitchen.
When the pack finally arrive, i've finished the book on wolf lore, drunk my pack of blood, and ordered pizza for the pack. Apparently everyone settles onto the sofas and they watch movies or play video games. Scott and Stiles arrive together, chatting away about something that has Stiles excited. His hands are flying about as he explains something to Scott, and his eyes are alight with happiness. Scott replies, and Stiles laughs a little, and Scott grins the lopsided smile he has that makes me think he's a puppy. Stiles turns and looks at me watching them, and breaks out into another smile, which in turn makes me smile. After clapping his bro on the shoulders, he heads towards me. We all huddle onto the couch and the floor, several pillows being added so the people sat on it are comfortable. Stiles, I and Lydia take the couch, while Derek sits on his bed. Cora is still upstairs, sulking. Scott, Isaac and Allison sit on the floor.
They argue about what movie to watch, until Lydia gets her way and the Notebook is put on. The pizza arrives mere minutes afterwards. The night is spend with laughter, and a few tears shed (mainly by me i must admit). Since it's a school night, Derek makes everyone who doesn't live here leave at 10:30, with promises to have a pack meeting tomorrow because we didn't get round to talking about Peter tonight. I walk Stiles to the door. 'I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?' he asks me. I nod my head, and he leans in for a hug. Feeling bold, once we're apart, i lean in and kiss his cheek. 'I'll see you in to morning.' I tell him with a shy smile. He blushes, which just makes me grin a little more. With a wave goodbye, i close the door, and turn to lean against it. Derek is on his bed, and his eyes may be on his book, but i know he saw what just happened. 'Goodnight Derek.' I say quietly once i'm laid on the couch. Letting my eyes slip closed, i lay in silence, listening to Derek's breathing.
