The night atmosphere is bloated with the smell of blood and fear. The constant sound of screams echoing with the chaotic symphonies of bloodshed grew louder as each hour treaded by. Kwei once again is in the lead as he jogs through another deserted alley with Kyvanna following dutifully behind.

Despite their focus on their main task to obliterate the Xenomorphs, their minds are both unsafely drifting back to the moment that had occurred right after Kyvanna had awoken to.

Kyvanna couldn't believe how stupid she was! After all this time of vowing to never fall into the same predictable trap again; she fell in an undignified swoop. What she couldn't understand was why her heart is forcing her to continue this charade-besides the obvious... differences between them.

The unbelievably height difference between her and the hunter was more pronounced than ever as she raises her head defiantly to his. The haze in her head refuses to dissipate and her heart thuds heavily in its cage. Emotions, older than time, races through their soul-searching eyes. A sharp click thundered through their minds as their hands, in synchronization, reach out for the other. Upon contact, a sense of pure elation and completion pour into their minds, hearts and even deeper still, into their very souls.

As quickly as it came, the moment was suddenly gone.

Kyvanna rips her hand away from contact as if it was scorched and decisively stares at her hand accusingly instead of the red eyes, which she instinctively knew are staring back at her. She closes her eyes before letting loose a series of quick breaths before continuing to avoid the hunter's eyes and walks back to the entrance of the alleys.

"…W-well, we should be going."

Kyvanna mentally kicks herself for stuttering and showing immense weakness at the seemingly invincible being.

Unknown to Kyvanna, Kwei was berating himself mentally for the same reason. 'What kind of elite hunter am I? Surviving and hunting through all of my 350 seasons of life, just to throw it away to some low life Ooman?!' His mind suddenly halts in its process. 'No, she is definitely not some low life. She is honorable and perhaps even worthy enough to bare the hunters' mark.'

He watches her walk past him and before she vocally spurs him along. He releases a long suffering sigh before he strides past her to reclaim his lead once more.

Kwei's body tenses and his pace marginally slow down before coming to a halt. He raises his right hand to signal Kyvanna to do the same and simultaneously checks the map within his mask. There are notifications of movements rapidly increasing around them.

Kyvanna walks cautiously to Kwei's side-her grip tightening on her loyal acid-proof knives- and stares at the sizzling chasm ahead. Dozens of Xenomorph corpses are spread throughout the hallway. Each of them died entangled with another corpse of their own kind. The green liquid of their lifeline exterminated bricks upon bricks of flooring beneath their now-cold corpses.

A curious click leaves Kwei as he calmly reaches for his ki'cti-pa and elongates it with a grace of a professional. The deaths of these hard meats were something he had seen many times before, but their seemingly abundance in number was not something he is grateful for. Especially when hunting without a clan to back him up.

The barely discernable sound of metal unsheathing from a covering divides his attention to the tiny warrior beside him. Her face is a mask of cool ice as she bore into the death zone. Despite that the air reeks of decaying carcasses, the smell of her confusion and a bit of excitement protruded his senses the most.

Seeing no prey in sight, Kwei stalks through the hallway-keeping well away from the blood- his shoulder cannon whirring in a near silent vigil upon his shoulder. The hallway breaks into a cavern which leads to even more crumbling passageways. The distinct sound of footsteps alerted him of something approaching. He lined up his plasmacaster towards the east entranceway, but before he could fire, he received a shove and an exclamation from the huntress behind him.

An indignant growl reverberated within his burly chest as he glares at her intrusion. Amazingly, she ignored his dominating presence to walk swiftly towards the obvious forms of other Oomans appearing from the entranceway. He huffs before turning his attention to a more pronounced distraction in another hallway. He turns back to her before shaking his head and striding through the narrow alleyway. She could take care of herself.

Despite all the confusing aspect surrounding the hunter in front of her, Kyvanna couldn't help but overlook his alien nature and his over exceedingly strange temper; to simply see him as a being that she could connect on a submerge level with. From what she can assume so far by his disposition- he admirably likes to win. Her heart pounded at the thought of his fierce eyes blazing with bloodlust and pride. Another male of her species couldn't possibly turn her world upside down with a simple heated stare.

She is finally fed up with her own disposition as a lovesick puppy and mentally straightens out her thoughts before locking onto the carnage around her in a renewed sense of anger. These monsters are surely the locusts of the galaxy as she had seen them do were killing and reaping the souls of the living. However, she knew to never underestimate her opponents. In her earlier skirmishes with these beasts, their ability to synchronize their attack and understanding the strategy of retreating awe her.

Of course, she had known these creatures had existed. The Weyland-Yutani Corporation thought that they could hide this from her father. They were severely underestimating him, as his career as a researcher allows him to record data of their existence and extort other workers to prevent the security to sniff out his trail. The thought of her dauntless father drew a small, yet fond smirk to her lips.

Her look soon faded away as she recalls the arguments that had ended the relationship between her father and brother. Her brother sought to end their father's ever beckoning obsessive work with the Xenomorphs, but he out rightly denies his cautions and a huge fight broke out over who was in the right. The results were heartbreaking to say in the least, her brother was going to the space station to continue his career as a marine and her dad was going to move to live in a room within the Weyland-Yutani Company's facility.

With her 18 birthday rapidly approaching, the depressing thought of her only family abandoning her leaves a dark hole of loneliness within her once-happiness filled heart.

Kyvanna notices that her breathing had somehow stopped and calmly intakes a deep breath before looking at the familiar back of the hunter in front of her once more. Surely… he would not leave her too?

The hunter's stillness forces her to leap out of her unwanted thoughts to focus onto her senses which are filled with the scrapping sounds of footsteps rapidly approaching them.

Kyvanna's eyes widen at the approaching figures and she instinctively lunges toward Kwei, who is positioning his cannon to fire at the group of people appearing from the hallway.

"HOLD IT!"

An unhappy growl leaves him but she spares him no attention as she sprints toward the group of now discernable teenagers stopping to recollect their breaths. A sudden yelp of recognition leaves a girl as the rest of the group turns their head to her approaching figure with an unexpected shine of happiness.

The exhausted group launches themselves onto her with cries of relief and joy. Their faces are recognizable by her as she recalls seven of them from the study group she has for science. However, there is clearly two people missing… and one of them she cares about dearly.

"Guys, where is Jasmine and Gert? I'm sure they went to study with you all, and why are you guys running through these halls?" Her near-desperate voice slice through the rowdy air and suddenly the group lost their vigor as they all stare at different parts of the hallway.

A girl, Jennifer, steps up with blue eyes misting over with tears. "G-ger-rt… he had s-some…thing-g…" Her voice fell and a sob leaves her trembling lips. Her head and shoulders droop low before a pair of hands came onto her shoulders for comfort. Tim softly whispers into her ears before looking at Kyvanna with a certain dull sheen in his eyes that she had never seen in them before.

"There was something following us after we left the school gates far behind. At first, we thought it was a wild coyote or bear and we all made loud noises to scare it away. Instead of it running away, a yellow scorpion like creature raced towards us. In our horror, its chosen prey was Jasmine." He releases an unsteady breath as Kyvanna's feature held a stone cold gaze.

Willing himself onwards he spoke with a more profound steadiness. "Gert finally stood up from him ground of groveling and leapt towards it with his hands intent to kill it. The instant his clamped his hands onto it, the creature clambers onto his arm and reaches its skinny finger like feet to his face. His screams were terrifying and all of us rushed to pull it off, but it would not budge as it tightens its grip onto his neck with its tail. But before we could do anything else, three more scorpions came; they launched themselves onto Para, Fender, and Rinnie… The rest of us cried and help ourselves countable for their seemingly terrifying deaths. Hours later, the creature suddenly fell off and everyone woke up."

Jennifer looks up from her despondent gaze on the ground. Her gaze is clearer now but a cloud of sadness still haunts her face. "That was about 45 minutes ago; we heard loud shrieks approaching and we all hurriedly spurred everyone to start running to your place. Jasmine suggested it as she states that you would know what to do… Not long ago, Gert started to slow down and Jasmine, blamed herself for giving him such pain remained at a slower pace with him… The rest of us couldn't stand around for him to recover so we all moved ahead."

Another voice spoke up behind them. "That was when we were pursued by the black demons." The tall and once proud man before her seems to have shrunk as his posture speaks of one who has given into his unavoidable fate. "They came from across the streets and we all ran to the darkening alleys with a stray hope that you would be home."

A crazed look of elation paints itself upon his face as if he had just spoken to the president. Quite suddenly the sound of more footsteps from a different alley spurs Kyvanna to abandon all thoughts of her loss and a vengeful spirit consumes her as she lowers herself into a crouch.

At this moment, Kyvanna swears to whatever Gods are watching her that her heart stopped. Jasmine appears and runs past a curve while looking behind her in frenzy. When she finally looks forward her unaltered perfect features lit up and a scream of happiness leaves her lips.

A Xenomorph also appears not 20 feet behind Jasmine and sprints towards her with a loud shriek. The group's frazzled atmosphere ignited once more and screams of horror leaves their body unwillingly. Kyvanna wasted no time in sprinting towards the approaching monstrosity. Jasmine stares at her in wonder as she sped past her.

The Xenomorph met Kyvanna head on, but it expels a growl of confusion as Kyvanna slides between its legs. The growl cut off as a screech of pain as Kyvanna had spears her knives onto its legs and pulled it along as she slid across the floor. She hurls rolls onto her feet, crouched with her acid-blood tinted knives before her.

In rage, the Xenomorph launches itself back to her, its tail and arms reach out to lay an inflecting damage onto her body. But Kyvanna proves herself to outpace the larger creature as she ran towards it with undefined grace as she dodges every single tail strike. She jumps onto the creatures' biceps and narrowly avoids its extended mouth. With a loud battle cry, she jabs the knives smoothly into the Xenomorph's neck.

The huge alien suddenly went limp and she hops backward onto the floor behind her. Her chest expands and deflates rapidly as she forces herself to calm down. Other than the sizzling sound of the acid blood eating away the flooring, the cavern is awfully silent.

Kyvanna suddenly recalls the group behind her and turns around to see the group with pure disbelief and amazement in each one of their gazes. A dry sobbing noise left Jasmine and in turn Kyvanna stares into the tearful, yet elated eyes of her dear friend. Jasmine walks, as she could no longer run, to Kyvanna and hugs her with all the strength she has left.

Suddenly, everyone began to cheer and each one of them touches her in some way to show their appreciation. Kyvanna narrows her eye in consideration, before calming down. They are merely scared; they did not want to harm her with their skin contacts.

"Kyvanna… I l-…" Jasmine's voice cut off as she stares at something behind Kyvanna. She releases a fearful whimper. And Kyvanna spins around on her heels, fearing the worst.

Another hunter stood beside the Xenomorph carcass that she had killed.
