Magnus really didn't know what to say to the boy's request. He really hadn't expected this.
Sure the boy had stared at him, but that was usually the case with young Shadowhunters who met a warlock. He hadn't expected the boy to have a crush on him. Not that he didn't think he wasn't attractive; Magnus knew he didn't look half bad. It was just that Alec had met him probably half an hour. Or was it normal to become attached so quickly for kids these days? Was the boy just messing with him? Magnus really couldn't tell. He looked at Alec who currently looked as if all his blood had left his body. He looked as if he was having a nervous breakdown.
Alec was mentally cursing himself. Dumb! Dumb! Dumb! Why couldn't you've just stayed quiet? Now he'll think you're a creepy little kid that's in need of therapy. You really are in need of therapy though. You've just flirted with a warlock. Now he's really going to turn you into a frog!
Suddenly Magnus burst out laughing and didn't stop anymore. Alec just looked dumb folded at the warlock in front of him. Had he said something funny?
Magnus tried to catch his breath. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's just you should've just seen your face. You looked like the painting "The Scream" from Edvard Munch."
Alec really didn't know what to do with that he'd no idea what Magnus was babbling about this time. He was just relieved that the warlock didn't seem offended.
To distract himself he asked Magnus: "So, Do we have a deal?"
The warlock was still trying to regain his composure but managed to say: "Yes…Yes…You won't be able to open that thing anyway." Then he continued to laugh at the Nephilim.
Alec was determined to get that confident grin off the warlocks face. He stepped closer to the bookshelf and produced a paper clip. He'd already used it a couple of times when Isabelle was around. His sister had a tendency of getting in trouble. And he was usually the one to get her out of it. That involved opening doors or locks to get away from trouble as fast as possible. Alec was pretty confident it would work. He doubted that warlocks thought of opening anything with their hands since they could just do it with snipping their fingers.
Not too long after he'd started to work on the lock he heard a familiar click and the door swung open releasing an awful lot of dust and tons of books right on top of the Shadowhunters head.
