Macey POV

I'm lying on 'my' bed in the onesie (I can't see any cameras but I can't be sure there isn't any) when I hear a van drive up. It's been happening every half hour and then I hear screaming so I don't look up any more. But this time it was different.

So far, it's always been Norwegian screaming when vans drive up, and other languages (mostly English, French and German) when helicopters land. This time it was a van but the screaming was in English. And it wasn't screams of terror. It was an argument. I pricked my ears up and listened.

"… Your fault… shouldn't have told me to call him…" This girl was Scottish, about 15 or 16 and clearly frustrated.

"You're the one… it was your idea to start the Facebook group…" This girl was English, of a similar age and sounded terrified.

Someone shouted in Norwegian and there was a thumping noise and then a scream of pain that sounded like it came from the English girl. I stand up and look out the window. It's so dark I can barely see anything, but then the two girls are dragged past a streetlight and I recognise them as the girls in the pictures on the Facebook accounts of Megan Thomas and Sarah Murphy.

There is a knock on my door and I go to answer it.

"Du må gå ned i kjelleren akkurat nå. Det er ned trappen til høyre."

I don't speak Norwegian, but I know some words and similar languages so I work out that the woman has told me to go down the staircase on the right to the basement. She leaves before I can respond so I do as she says.

When I get downstairs, someone points for me to go into a room. I do, but the door is slammed behind me and locked.

"You think we're stupid enough to not be able to tell the difference between someone who we have hypnotised and someone we haven't?" the man laughs and walks away.

I turn in disbelief and anger, ripping off the onesie and stamping on it, to find Sarah Murphy leaning against the wall.

Sarah POV

They've tricked some girl who is in a onesie into walking in here. Right now she is currently ripping off the onesie so she is only in a tank top and shorts (it's about 2 degrees Celsius in here) and stamping on it. I think I like her.

"Hey," I say to her. What else can I say?

"My name is Macey McHenry. You're Sarah Murphy. Introductions over. Now, may I ask you, have you come into contact with a girl of the name Rebecca Baxter in the past 24 hours?"

I nod slowly.

"Good. Bex and I go to school together…"

She seems to be testing how much I know.

"She told me… she said she was…"

"We go to a school for spies."

"She told me she was a spy in training."

"Good. Bex and I were sent to make sure you and Megan Thomas didn't do anything crazy that would get you killed."

"I guess your mission was unsuccessful then? Sorry, my bad."

She laughs and comes over and leans against the wall with me.

"It's not exactly your fault that it takes hours to get to this side of the Atlantic. If it took less time then we'd have made it before you did."

"What do we do now?"

"First of all, where is Megan?"

I looked down. They dragged us into this building and brought me here. I never saw where they took her. But at that moment the question became pointless as the door opened and Megan stood there in a onesie.

I could see it in her eyes that she wasn't herself.

Rachel POV

"Patricia." I say as she walks by.

"Yes?" she turns and I motion for her to enter the empty classroom beside us.

"I need you to take over for a while."

"Where are you going?"

"I cannot disclose that information. I do not know how long I will be gone. Tell Cammie… tell her to come when it's over."

Patricia nodded, and not questioning anything she walked away.

I go down to Sub-Level Two; go down to the empty room nobody uses, and handcuff myself to a metal pole that is in the room. Then, I close my eyes, breathe and stop resisting.

I must get Cammie a onesie for Christmas…

Macey POV

Megan stands at the door.

"Sarah, I would like to tell you that I will no longer participate in the anti-onesie movement. I have come to the realisation that onesies are in fact a garment to be admired and respected. You are being given the opportunity now to join the onesie cause, or…"

I look at Sarah, who says nothing or does nothing for seventy-six seconds. Then, she gets up, goes right over to Megan and says:

"You know I can't do that, Megan."

"Very well," says a random woman behind Megan. The two of them exit and the door is slammed on us once again.

Sarah turns and walks right up to me, and then waves a key in my face.

"You're welcome. Though next time, maybe you should do your job. It freaks me out."

Bex POV

Two hours later I'm thrown into some sort of cell. I can barely move and I can't make a sound.

Why was Catherine in Scotland?

Catherine POV

Dillon and Steve come in and shake their heads. I sigh and turn my back, signalling for them to leave. I sit down and stare at the CCTV footage from the store in Glasgow. All it shows is the girl Baxter was with playing dead after the attacking and flooding incident. I already know two hundred and seventy three facts about the girl just from watching the footage.

She changed in the changing room, so clearly she is self-conscious, probably gets bullied, and slightly old fashioned. She left money, which shows she has a compulsive need to obey the law, even in situations where it is not necessary. She was smart enough to play dead, which suggests she had some sort of idea of what was going to happen. Her reaction though suggests it was a total shock – so therefore she must have had a theory of what was going to happen but didn't truly believe it was true. She rolled with the bat, so therefore she has some self-defence training, probably minimal such as Saturday karate classes or something similar. Those are just the most interesting.

She's intelligent enough to be a Gallagher Girl but she isn't – probably because she doesn't come from a spy family and is British.

What I want to know is why Baxter was sent to find her. And where she escaped to.
