Me: This is the second part of The Things You Love Most episode!
Emma: (mutters) I hate you so much right now.
Me: (Looks hurt) Why?
Emma: First, you made me sing with Austin! Second, you made me sound so stupid! Also, who the heck is Austin!
Me: Won't tell you! And plus Anonymous Guest can freely review me as long as she like. I love reviews. But just don't flame me and that includes all reviewers and readers.
Maddie: (nods eagerly) Tell them about my idea!
(Everyone groans except for Maddie)
Me: So…..there will be a dance for Storybrooke High and it will be THEMED. It was Maddie's idea for it to be an 18th century fairytale masquerade ball. I put up a poll on my profile page so that anyone can vote for what Emma wears. Just one problem. Choices A through C are all puffy dresses and just imagine them slightly less puffy. Also, if you don't have an account, just review you vote to me and I will add them to my list of numbers for the votes of what Emma wears.
Emma: Can we go to the episode? This is boring.
Me: Fine. I don't own OUAT and let's go on with the show!
Chapter 7- The Things You Love Most- Part 1- Trust
Mary Margaret was preparing Emma breakfast by the time Emma came out from her bedroom.
"Good morning Emma," Mary Margaret greeted. Emma smiled as she shrugged on her uniform jacket. "Did you have a good night sleep?"
Emma shrugged.
"If you mean singing with a creeper who is actually just like you, then yes, I had a good night's sleep," Emma muttered.
Mary Margaret looked up from the stove.
"What?" Mary Margaret asked. Emma sat on the one of the counter's chairs.
"Nothing," Emma said.
Mary Margaret just shrugged it off and handed Emma some eggs. Teenagers.
"Well, today I have a lot of papers to grade so I can't join you to breakfast or walk with you. I am going by the school early so I can get that out of the way," Mary Margaret said. "Also, after school I have to meet with Mr. Gold. So you are going to have to walk today."
Emma nodded.
"Okay, I understand,"Emma said. "Also, I already know that you told Austin." Mary Margaret looked at Emma.
"How do you know that," Mary Margaret asked Emma.
"Well," Emma said after swallowing some eggs. "I met up with him last night to talk about something. He is not that perfect as I thought. But he is still creepy."
Mary Margaret gave Emma a smile.
"I told you he wasn't creepy," Mary Margaret smiled. "And by the way, I'm sorry about telling him our secret."
Emma shook her head and continued to eat her eggs.
"It's nothing," Emma muttered. "I just wished you told me." Mary Margaret turned around to clean up the dishes.
"I just wanted it to be a surprise," Mary Margaret said. "I thought that once I solved these issues, I would tell you and you would't have to stress about it."
Emma looked up at Mary Margaret.
"That would have been a great gift," Emma cracked a smile. Mary Margaret turned her head around and smiled also.
"If you liked that then you would love the appointment I got you," Mary Margaret grinned.
Regina walked in Henry's room with an angry look on her face.
"The missing pages," Regina said with the book open as Henry buttoned the last button on his shirt. "Where are they?"
"It's an old book; stuff missing," Henry said when he turned around. "Why do you care?" Henry moved away from Regina and walked to get his backpack.
"I care because you think I'm some Evil Queen," Regina pulled Henry's arm and touched Henry's chin. "And that hurts me Henry, I'm your mother."
"No you're not," Henry gave Regina a look. Regina dropped Henry's chin and looked at Henry as he moved to get his backpack and carried it to his bed.
"Then who is?" Regina walked slowly. Henry looked up. "That girl you found? I don't like what she or this book is doing to you. Thankfully both are no longer an issue." Henry gave a small look into his backpack.
"What," Regina glared. Then the clock tower chimed it's sound. Regina turned her head and stared at the clock tower in the distance. Henry quickly pulled on his backpack. Henry then smiled a little at the clock tower before running out of his room and out of the house. He had to be quick. Regina, meanwhile, looked continued to look at the clock tower.
"No," Regina thought. "My curse….." Regina looked back at Henry and found him gone.
Regina looked at the clock tower up close before she went to work. Why was time running again? She had been so careful.
Her train of thought was then ruined when Archie Hopper came up to the clock.
"Hey, how about that?" Archie smiled. "Guess those rusty old inwards are finally straightening themselves out, huh?"
Regina turned her head to look at Archie. Before she made a comment, she saw Mary Margaret laughing to a fellow teacher on the way to work about something about Emma did. The girl didn't left.
"Yes," Regina said with a cold smile. "How about that indeed."
Emma was throwing in some spare clothes that she borrowed from Mary Margaret when she heard a knock.
"That's strange," Emma whispered. "I wasn't expecting anyone."
Emma then walked to open the door. On the other side of the door was Regina. She was carrying a basket of red apples with an elegant smile on her face.
"Did you know that the Honey Crisp tree is the most vigorous and hardy of all apple trees," Regina stated. Emma raised an eyebrow. "It can survive temperatures as low as 40 below and keep growing. It can weather any storm. Anyway, I have one that I've tended to since I was a little girl…." Regina took one of her apples from the basket.
"And to this day, I have yet to this day had anything more delicious than the fruit it offers," Regina said with an elegant manner as she offered Emma an apple.
"Uh…t-thanks," Emma said. Weird woman.
Regina then took the basket that she carried and offered it to Emma.
"I'm sure you'll enjoy them on your ride back to the orphanage," Regina smiled.
Emma raised her head and looked at Regina in the eye.
"A-Actually, I'm gonna s-stay for a while," Emma said with a smirk.
Regina lost her smile and glared.
"I'm not sure that's a great idea," Regina glared. "Henry has enough issues. He doesn't need you to confuse him."
"All due r-respect, Madam M-Mayor, the fact that you have now t-threatened me twice in the last 12 h-hours makes me want to stay more," Emma said with smile.
"Since were apples a threat," Regina asked with a smile.
"I can r-read between the lines," Emma crossed her arms and smirked.
"Sorry. I don't w-want to do this, but I j-just want to m-make sure H-Henry's okay," Emma explained.
"He's fine dear," Regina said with a proud look on her face. " Any problems he has are being taken care of."
"And w-what does t-that mean?" Emma asked. Regina moved closer.
"It mean I have him in therapy," Regina said. "It's all under control." Emma, in her head, just scoffed. Therapy. Great.
"Take my advise Mr. Swan," Regina said. "Only one of us knows what's best for Henry. And old enough."
"Yeah, I-I'm starting to t-think you're right a-about that," Emma agreed under her breath but only for the first half of it. And she meant herself.
Regina knew what Emma was saying and smiled tightly.
"It's time for you to go," Regina said through her teeth. Emma tilted her head and smiled cheekily.
"Or w-what," Emma asked. Regina walked closer to Emma with a glare.
"Don't underestimate me, Miss. Swan," Regina glared. Regina smirked. "You have no idea what I'm capable of."
Emma looked at the newspaper and sighed. Great first impression. On the newspaper was a picture of Emma. She was smiling in the picture while walking down the sidewalk. It may be a great picture but the article stated that Emma was a girl who ran away from the orphanage. The truth was out. Dang it Regina. Emma was so going to murder Regina later. She didn't even care that she might go to jail.
"Here you go," the waitress, Ruby said after placing a cup of hot chocolate in front of Emma.
"Um...t-thanks," Emma said surprised. "But I-I didn't order that."
"I know," Ruby grinned. "You have an admirer." Ruby gestured to the back of the room. Emma turned her head to where Ruby was looking at. It was Sheriff Graham. Emma rolled her eyes. Cops just loved to suck up to her. Just because you give a kid a treat, doesn't mean they will like you. They will eat it but they won't like you. She then walk toward Graham.
Sheriff Graham looked up and smiled at the teen.
"Ah," the cop smiled. "So you decided to stay." Emma rolled her eyes.
"O-Observant," Emma said. "Important for a c-cop."
"It's good for tourist business," Sheriff Graham said. "Bad for our reputation though."
Emma gave Sheriff Graham a scowl.
"I-It's a joke," Sheriff Graham said weakly. "Because you solved where Henry was before I did."
"L-Look," Emma interrupted. " The c-cocoa was a n-nice gesture and I-I'm impressed that you guessed that I l-like cinnamon on my c-chocolate because m-most people don't, but I-I am not here to make f-f-riends. S-So…um thank you, but n-no thank you."
Sheriff Graham looked confused.
"I didn't send it," the cop said. Then Henry and Austin popped up from the table behind Graham.
"I did!" Henry said cheerfully. "I like cinnamon too."
Emma tilted her head.
"Don't you have school," Emma said to Henry. She was ignoring Austin. She was still embarrassed.
Henry and Austin got off their seats and walked toward Emma.
"Duh," Henry said as Austin shrugged on his uniform jacket. "I'm ten. Walk me." Emma smiled and sighed as Henry and Austin grabbed her hands and pushed her through the door. Emma though quickly placed the cocoa down on a near by table before she was dragged away by the two boys.
"What's with you and your mom," Emma asked Henry as they both walked down the street. Meanwhile, Austin pulled out his shades and put them on before running up next to Henry so that could walk besides him, of course in an elegant and cool manner. Emma though was closing her attention on Henry and not at Austin. She was going to still ignore him. Austin, though, was trying to get her attention by nudging and staring at her.
"It's not about us," Henry explained. "It's about her curse. We have to break it. Luckily, Austin and I have a plan." Austin stopped staring at Emma for a second.
"Step one-identification," Austin said as he threw an arm around Henry's shoulder. Henry grinned.
"We call it Operation Cobra," Henry said excitedly.
"Cobra?" Emma questioned as she tossed around her apple. "That has nothing to do with fairy tales."
Austin snapped his fingers at Emma's question.
"Exactly," Austin smirked. "It's a code name to throw the queen off the trail. Using a code name will make her clueless of what we got in store."
Emma nodded.
"So everyone here is a fairytale character," Emma said slowly. "They just don't know it."
"That's the curse," Henry chimed in. "Time's been frozen until you got here." Emma nodded before taking her apple up to eat it.
"Hey," Henry shouted. "Where'd you get that?" Henry and Austin looked panicked.
"Um….your mom?" Emma said. Henry grabbed the apple and tossed it over his shoulder.
"Don't eat that," Henry shouted. Emma watched the apple hit a random guy.
"Oh, okay," Emma said startled. Emma turned back toward Henry and Austin. "Uh…all right. What about their past?"
Austin sighed.
"They don't know," Austin explained. "It's a haze to them."
"Yeah," Henry agreed. "Just ask anyone anything and you'll see. Even ask Austin. He doesn't even know who he was before the curse. All he knows is right now." Austin sighed and agreed.
"I only remember my mother in this land and what she done to me," Austin said. "And the fact that I was saved by Mr. Gold."
Emma frowned.
"Okay," Emma thought out-loud. "So for decades, people have been walking around in a haze, not aging, with messed up memories, and stuck in a cursed town that kept them oblivious."Well that wasn't crazy at all.
Henry, meanwhile, was oblivious to his crazy thoughts.
"I knew you'd get it," Henry smiled happily. Emma looked at Henry and smiled while rolling her eyes. "That's why we need you. You're the only one who can stop her curse."
"Because I'm the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming," Emma said sarcastically.
"Yes," Austin interrupted. "And right now, we have the advantage but Henry's mom doesn't know that. Show her Henry."
Henry nodded and grabbed a few papers in his backpack.
"I took out the end," Henry said as he showed the papers. "The part with you in it." Emma took the papers and looked at it. On the first page was a baby girl with the exact same name as her being held to safety by a man.
"See?" Henry said. "Your mom is Snow White." Emma shook her head and smiled.
"Oh kid," Emma started.
"I know the hero never believes at first," Henry continued on with a determined look on his face. "If they did, it wouldn't be a very good story." Emma sighed and continued to walk with Henry and Austin. They were crazy but she couldn't tell him that.
"If you need proof, take them read them, but whatever you do, don't let her see these pages," Austin said with gestures as he walked. "They're dangerous. If she finds out who you are….."
"It would be bad," Henry finished. Emma looked at these papers. This was a bit….overwhelming.
"I gotta go," Henry sighed as they walked closer to the school. "But I will find you both later and we can get started." Henry then ran inside the school gates but before he went inside he said something.
"I knew you'd believe me," Henry shouted. Emma laughed.
"I never said I did," Emma shouted back. Henry then laughed before running inside.
"Why else would you be here?" Henry called out . Emma sighed and smiled.
"Because i want to make sure you're okay," Emma thought in her head. But her thoughts were broken when Mary Margaret walked up to her.
"It's good to see his smile back," Mary Margaret smiled at Emma. "Hi Austin." Austin grinned and said hello back. Emma, meanwhile, look down.
"I didn't do anything," Emma said.
"Well, you stayed," Mary Margaret pointed out. Emma nodded. "So does the mayor found out you're still here?"
Emma nodded while deep in thought.
"Oh, she knows," Emma said lightly. "What is her deal? She's not a great….."
"People person," Austin finished. Emma pointed at Austin.
"Exactly," Emma said. "How did she even get elected?"
Austin and Mary Margaret shrugged.
"She's been mayor since as long as we can remember," Austin explained. "No one's been brave enough to run against her. Well…I would run if I was old enough."
"Anyway," Mary Margaret interrupted Austin's dark thoughts. "She inspires quite a bit of….fear. I'm afraid I made that worst now that he thinks she is the Evil Queen. And with Austin believing it, it puts it up in a whole different level."
"Hey," Austin said offended. "I think Henry is right! Maybe you are the person who's wrong." Mary Margaret gave Austin a look.
"Who does you think you are," Emma interrupted the two before they could argue about who was wrong or right.
Mary Margaret looked at Emma in embarrassment.
"Oh, it's silly," Mary Margaret said embarrassed. Emma pointed at Austin.
"I got five minutes of silly," Emma pointed out. "Lay it on me."
"Snow White," Mary Margaret said. The bell then rang. But Emma, meanwhile, looked shock. Oh gosh…..
"Who does he thinks you are," Mary Margaret asked Emma. Austin then looked up at Emma from his phone that he somehow pulled open from his pocket and smirked.
"I-I'm not in the book," Emma muttered. Emma then shook her head to clear her thoughts. "Can I ask you a favor? Regina mentioned the kid's in therapy. So you know where i can find the doctor?"
"I can not believe you are going to Dr. Hopper's after school," Austin said exasperated.
"I have to," Emma said as she walked down the hallway to her first class. "I need to talk to him and you aren't going to stop me."
"I'm not stopping you," Austin said. "I just need to talk to you about last night bu-" Austin stopped when Emma just walk down the hall faster.
"But," Austin called out to Emma. "Emma….Emma…EMMA!" Emma stopped.
"What," Emma asked annoyed.
"We need to talk about us," Austin said. "About last night." Emma sighed and looked around. Too many people.
Emma then grabbed Austin's arm and dragged him into a classroom. When they were inside, Emma checked to see if it was empty before taking out a bobby pin and used it to lock them in.
"It was nothing," Emma frowned.
Austin shook his head.
"No, if it wasn't a big deal, you wouldn't have lock us in," Austin disagreed. Emma cursed under her breath. Clever boy…..
"I thought we had something last night," Austin said as he walked closer to Emma. Emma took out her hand and pushed Austin's chest away from her.
"There was nothing between us last night," Emma shook her head. "There never was. It was just our characters in the scene."
Austin shook his head.
"No," Austin disagreed. "I don't think so. Tell me the truth Emma."
Emma laughed coldly.
"I have been trying to put up walls my whole life," Emma said. "What makes you think I will open up for you? What makes you special?" Austin then wondered. What made him so special? Out of all the people, why him?
"I am not sure," Austin said. "But for now, you will just have to except this."
Austin moved even closer to Emma. Emma then cried out in warning before he pushed Emma closer to his chest. Their position was Emma's head against Austin's chest while Austin's arm wrapped around emma's waist while his forehead leaning down on Emma's shoulder. He was holding her tight but at the same time holding her gently. It felt safe in his arms.
"Let go," Emma said quietly for once. Austin shook his head.
"No," Austin whispered. "Just let me hold on to you for a while. Just this once." Emma seemed to allow him to hug her for a bit until she spoke up.
"I don't trust you," Emma whispered softly.
"I know," Austin whispered as he snuggled his forehead against Emma's shoulder and wrapped his arms tighter. "But why aren't you stuttering?" Emma seemed to stand there in shock. She didn't stutter. Not even last night. Emma closed her eyes.
No…..
