Code Breaker: The Guardian of Sound

Code: 07

How days has it been? Was it months? Years? The girl was beginning to lose all hope. Her hair had grown further down her back to the point where it reached the floor. Her clothes had dirt on them and were ripped in places, but not anywhere to reveal anything to make her feel uncomfortable or cautions; her once vibrant crimson eyes dull and lifeless. Rats could be heard scurrying and squeaking through unseen holes in the darkness. The first time she heard the rats it terrified her, but now, now it gave her a sense of calmness, it made her feel less... alone. As she sat there and stared at dull cracked floor, the sound of a door being opened caused her to quickly look up. A man with slicked back brown hair, blue eyes, and a lab coat was stand there. He had two tall and lean body guards standing next to him. He also had smile on his face that caused the girl once emotionless eyes to begin to show fear. 'I-I don't like this. Why is he here? What does he want? Is he going to let me free? Am I finally going to be let out of this hellish prison?' she had all these questions. Suddenly without warning one of the guards came and grabbed her, this startled her.

She thrashed around trying to get out of the man's grip, but he was two strong. "C'mon now stop trashing around will ya," the guard said in a gruff voice. The guard picked her up and roughly placed her over his shoulder, she began kicking and hitting his back, but it didn't seem to faze him. "Geez boss, why'd you have to get such rowdy one?" the other guard questioned. "Good question, my dear fellow. Well considering all the options placed before me... and dwelling on the fact that they both are related and harness just about the same power, with the older one being the stronger of the two. Not to mention that incident that happened all those years ago. It's truly a surprise I was able to get my hands on such a rarity. Let's just hope these test and their results prove to be quite fruitful. Come you two, let's go." The two guards. The man with the lab coat and one of the guards started walking, the other guard was about to follow suite when...

"Ow! Dumb bitch! She bit me!" The guard dropped the girl on floor hard, causing her he to hit her head on the hard concrete floor, knocking her unconscious. A little blood flowing from her forehead. The bitten guard quickly checked his hand and saw blood running down his hand. "Damn she actually broke the skin," he cursed. He picked the now unconscious girl up and placed her back on his shoulder, this time though he was glade she was unconscious. "Hurry it up, please." a voice called. The guard knew that the voice belonged to the doctor and that he wasn't a very patient man if kept waiting for too long.

"Coming sir." the guard easily caught up with the other guard and the doctor, as they weren't really that far ahead. "Geez man, what took you so long?" the other guard asked. "Well, this stupid brat bit me, and I ended up dropping her." The other guard looked on the other guard shoulder and noticed that the girl was unconscious and bleeding a bit from her forehead. "Stupid girl, she even broke the skin," the guard carrying her grumbled. The other guard laughed, "Oh stop crying you big baby, so she bit you, big whoop. I just wonder if she'll be okay, you did drop her on the concrete floor."

"She'll be fine... I'm just worried about my hand. That really hurt you know."

Pfft. Whatever I've seen you take tougher than this."

"Yeah well..."

"Baby," the other guard mumbled under his breath. Sadly the guard heard.

"What did you call me?"

The other guard smirked, "B-a-by~!"

"Why you-!"

"Quite dawdling you too. Please, I don't have time for your antics." the brown haired man said sternly.

"Yes sir, sorry sir." And with that the two stopped their friendly little quarrel and continued to follow the brown haired man down the silent corridor. "Sir. May I ask you something?" the guard carrying the girl asked. "Yes, what is it?"

"If you don't mind me asking, just what are you going to do with this girl?"

"Well, my dear friend... I'm going to get rid of something... no, in lack of a better term; a group that ruined everything I worked so hard to achieve... and this girl is going to be the key to those means." a devious smile appeared on the man's face.

Minori's eyes opened with a start. Her heart was beating a mile a minute; the dreams were becoming more vivid now than before. Minori looked around the room and noticed that it was still dark outside. 'I really need to clear my head.' Minori pulled back her futon and stood up and walked over to the door, she slowly opened the door so not to wake anyone. She popped her head out of the doorway and looked down both ends of the hall, luckily everyone was still asleep. Minori silently made her way down into the kitchen and got herself a glass of water, she gulped it down like her life depended on it. After she was done with drinking her water, she still felt a little uneasy about going to sleep and decided that getting a bit of air might do her some good.

Minori slowly opened the door and quickly checked behind her to make sure no one was behind her, the coast was clear. She quietly sat down on the porch and silently stared up at the moon. 'That dream felt so real...' a small breeze blew through the air causing Minori very long snow white hair to blow in the wind a bit. Suddenly without warning she felt hands wrap around her waist and someone's chin rest lazily on her shoulder, she jumped at the contact. "Koneko-chan, what are you doing up so late?" the voice asked sleepily. Minori could tell by the voice, that it was none other than Yuuki. If she could speak, she'd probably be saying, 'Yuuki, w-what are you doing up?' but since that wasn't an option she's have to rely on her face expressions, and right now the blush on her face said it all. Yuuki's warm breath tickled on her neck causing the blush on her face to intensify.

Yuuki could see through the corner of her eye that she was blushing and he chuckled to himself, he loved to see Minori blush whenever he did something that flustered her, in a weird way it made him happy knowing he was the only one that could do that. Yuuki suddenly felt his heart thumping faster and faster inside his chest, a small blush made its way on to his cheeks, luckily for him, because of how he and Minori were positioned, Minori wasn't able to see.

Yuuki and Minori continued to stay in that same position and watch as the clouds roamed through the sky, some of the clouds would block the moon's light for a quick sec and then the light from the moon would break through and the cloud would be on its way. Yuuki suddenly yawned letting both Yuuki and Minori know that they should probably head back to bed. "C'mon Koneko-chan, let's go back to sleep, Yuuki said in between yawns. Minori nodded, and the two got up. As Minori was getting ready to head back to her room, she felt a small tug on the back of her pajama shirt, she turned around to see Yuuki looking at her with a sad expression on his face. Minori looked at Yuuki confused.

"I-I wanna sleep... with you," Yuuki said in a child-like manner. Minori was caught off guard by this statement. 'H-he wants to sleep with me? I-I can't that would just be too...' Minori looked a Yuuki's face. He seemed sad, and yet... she wasn't exactly sure, but Yuuki... when she'd first met him she thought he was a bit odd to say the least, but now, she'd couldn't imagine being anywhere without him. She wouldn't openly admit it if she were asked, not unless under pressure of course, but Minori knew that without a doubt, that she had fallen for Yuuki and to be honest she wouldn't have it any other way.

She gave Yuuki a warm smile, and grabbing his hand they headed to Minori's room to go to sleep. Minori got inside the futon first, with Yuuki climbing in after. They started at each other, their reflections reflecting in each other's eyes. Minori grabbed on to Yuuki's hand and smiled, Yuuki smiled back. 'Goodnight.' Minori mouthed. Yuuki understanding what she said, placed his forehead on hers and whispered, "Goodnight... Minori-chan" and with that the two let sleep take them to the land of dreams. That night Minori didn't have one bad dream.

~Code Breaker~

"Ah, I finally made it. Now I've got to find these supposed 'code breakers'. But where should I look?" a small yawn escaped Sia's lips. "I guess I should worry about that later. For now I need to catch some nice needed sleep." Sia knew that even if she did find the 'code breakers' now she wasn't going to be any good in a confrontation if she was tired. Sia decided to go look for an Inn or Hotel and then when she was fully rested, she get to searching.

Sia passed by many interesting shops, a bakery, video store, convenient store, book store, as well as a sweet shop. But for Sia in regard the whole sweets deal, she'd made a vow to never have to go to the dentists under any circumstances what so ever. She hated the dentist with a fiery passion, having to sit in a chair while the dentist takes tools and pries into your mouth. It gave her the shivers just thinking about it. Anyway speaking of thinking, Sia wasn't really doing that at the moment, and bumped into something or someone, she wasn't sure which.

"Ah, I'm so sorry are you alright?" she heard a voice ask in a worried tone. After gaining her composer, Sia looked up and saw it was a girl; she had black hair with a tint of purple mixed in, her eyes were a warm violet purple, which in retrospect was quite a big contrast to Sia's pale gray. It wasn't just this girls eyes though even her hair color. The small tint of purple brought out the beauty in her hair, while Sia on the other hand had boring old brown hair. Sia was admiring the girl's features that she had even forgotten that the girl had knocked her down. After a few moments Sia responded, "Oh, no that was my fault, I wasn't watching where I was going," Sia said apologetically. "Here, at least let me help you up." The girl offered Sia her hand, she grabbed it and pulled herself up.

"Thanks." Sia said, wiping the dirt off her pants. Sia looked up at the girl and smiled, and the girl smiled back. "My names Sakurakouji-Sakura, by the way. Nice to meet you, uh..." "Matsumoto Sia. Nice to meet you too, Sakura-chan."

"You too, Sia-chan."

"So, what are you doing downtown Sia-chan?"

"Oh, nothing much. Just looking for a place to stay."

"You?"

"Oh, I'm helping my friend land a job."

"Cool." Another yawned passed its way out of Sia lips. "Well, I'll see you around, Sakurakoji-Sakura." The way Sakura's name rolled off her tongue felt weird, but she could really care less, she was more concerned with getting in a nice warm bed and taking a nap.

"Minori-chan over here!" she heard what sounded like Sakura calling to someone. Suddenly a girl with very long snow-white hair ran pass Sia, causing her to turn her head to get a better view. It was only for a split second, but Sia saw a small glimpse of what she thought was the color of blood.

~Code Breaker~

"So Minori-chan how'd it go?" Minori shook her head in dismay. "Well that's ok, I'm sure we'll find something." Sakura patted Minori on the back. When Minori asked Sakura to help her look for a job, she'd be so focused on her goal to make Yuuki happy that she'd forgotten that getting a job would be a challenge considering her none verbal ability. Minori walked behind Sakura saddened. Sakura could tell without looking at Minori that she was a bit down, this was her second attempt, she couldn't throw in the towel just yet. Sakura promised her friend that she'd help and that's what she planned to do. Sakura turned around to face Minori and placed her hands on her shoulders, stopping her in her tracks.

"Minori-chan, please look at me." Minori was looking down at her feet, but slowly looked up to see Sakura's violet purple eyes staring back at her with a look of determination and passion. "Minori-chan, when you asked me to help you, I told you I would, right?" Minori simply nodded. "Then you can't give up so easily, understand? You want to make Yuuki-kun happy, right?" Minori replied with another nod. "Let's keep at it! I think I have the perfect place for us to look for a job next. Let's go!" Sakura grabbed Minori's hand a pulled her toward their next destination.

"Well here we are, 'blue-moon bakery'!" Sakura said with a smile. The bakery was pretty average in size. The outside was a light peach color, with small tints of blue. In the windows were displays of cakes, breads along with other assorted baked goods. Minori felt herself getting hungry a bit. "C'mon Minori-chan let's go inside." Minori hears Sakura say, ultimately snapping her out of her thoughts. Sakura opened up the door stepping inside Minori following suite. A small bell went off letting any workers that worked there that customers had entered. The inside of the bakery both Sakura and Minori could agree had a nice warm feeling to it.

Minori and Sakura walked up to the counter and began looking at all the baked goods while waiting to be served. "I'll be out in a second!" a voice called from back in what Sakura and Minori assumed was the kitchen. "It's ok, please take your time," Sakura called back. Sakura looked over and saw Minori looking intently at a piece of lemon cake with chocolate frosting on the top. *Grumble* Sakura saw Minori blush, she giggled.

"Minori-chan, did you want that piece of that Lemon cake?" Sakura asked. Minori averted her eyes, a small blush on her cheeks. Sakura gave a small chuckle, "I'll take that as a "yes" then." Suddenly the door located in the back behind the counter swung open. A guy with black spiked hair; brown eyes wearing a black shirt and jeans, along with an apron came out with a surprised look on his face. "Sakurakouji-chan? What are you doing here?" he asked. Sakura was just as surprised. "Uesugi-kun? You work here?" Uesugi nodded. "Yeah, I've got to make a living somehow. I work here Fridays through Sundays that way it won't interfere with school, but that doesn't matter. So, Sakurakouji-chan what brings you here?" Uesugi asked. "Oh, well I'm helping my friend Minori-chan here..." Sakura pointed to Minori who was still looking at the sweets in longing.

"Minori-chan?"

Minori heard Sakura calling her, she looked up in confusion.

Sakura smiled and gestured toward Uesugi. "Minori-chan... this is my friend, Uesugi Hajime."

Hajime smiled at Minori. "Hi, Ichikawa-chan." Minori smiled and bowed at him. She then pulled out her notepad and began writing.

-Hi, Uesugi-kun, it's nice to meet you. I'm Minori Ichikawa.

Hajime was a bit puzzled as to why Minori was writing on the notepad instead of talking to him, was she sick? Hajime looked her once over and by the looks of what he could see she didn't seem sick. "Um, Minori-chan I..." he started to say, but Minori already understanding what he was trying to ask had already come up with a response.

-It's ok Uesugi-kun, I understand what you're asking. Well you see Uesugi-kun, I was born without the ability to speak, so in order for me to communicate I use this notepad I have here.

Hajime nodded, he was processing the information he was just told. After Minori had explained her story Sakura decided to take over the conversation once again. "So Uesugi, what to do think of Minori-chan?" she asked. Minori was sitting at a table happily munching on a slice of cake Sakura had brought her. Sakura couldn't help but smile while looking at the joy on Minori's face as she had brought her the piece of cake, she looked like a little kid waiting for Santa Clause to show up.

"Well, she seems nice. Maybe a little shy, but nice," Hajime stated. "But, Sakura-chan. You never told me why you were here. You'd said it was to help Ichikawa-chan, but what does that have to do with me?"

"Uesugi-kun, are you guys looking for any hired help here?"

"Well, now that you mention it... I think the boss was saying something about needing extra help in the kitchen, why?"

Sakura clapped her fingers together. "Great, then this defiantly will be good."

"Good? What are you talking about?"

"Uesugi-kun, from now on we'll be seeing a lot more of each other."

"Eh? W-wait, you're gonna work here?"

"Nope, I'm not. Minori is though. So, what do you say?" Sakura smiled.

"Oh..." Hajime just nodded. It took him a moment before he'd understood what Sakura had just proposed.

"Well... I'm sure it'd be ok, but does Ichikawa-chan have any cooking skill at all?" he questioned. At this point in time, Minori had just finished her cake and was walking back over to where Sakura and Hajime were having their important conversation. She'd overheard Hajime questioning her cooking skills and was totally prepared to give a wholehearted straight forward answer.

-Uesugi-kun. I'm pretty skilled at cooking, so please don't count me out just yet, ok?"

He nodded. –Besides, who knows I could surprise you. So, how about? Minori smiled. Hajime was beginning to feel pressed from some reason. The way Minori and Sakura had smiled at him... he felt like he couldn't refuse. Hajime sighed, "Look, I'm not making any promises, but..." he ran a hand through his spiked hair. "I swear, if I didn't know any better you two seem like you'd make really good sisters. Anyway, I'll tell my boss about it and get back to you, alright?" Minori and Sakura grinned from ear to ear.

"Thanks Uesugi-kun."

-Thank you, Uesugi-kun

"Yeah, you're welcome. Oh, and Hajime is fine. You don't have to use my last name."

"Oh, ok. Same goes for me too, Sakura is fine."

-Me too.

"Well, we'll see you again soon." Sakura and Minori gave Hajime a short wave and exited the shop. Both girls were carrying a bag in their hands that contained cakes, not just for them, but for everyone at back at Shibuya house as well.

~Code Breaker~

"We're home!" Sakura called. There was no reply. Sakura and Minori looked at each other confused. 'I wonder if they all went out?' Sakura wondered. Minori was wondering the same thing as well. Sakura and Minori began to search around to see if there was anyone lying around the house, when they happened to stumble upon a certain person, if you could call 'it' that. There was a cat sitting at the table with a cup of tea in front of him. He seemed to be preoccupied with the news, when he noticed the two girls enter the room. Minori was a bit shocked. Who was this person? Why were they here? Were they here to take her back to that place? Minori felt her heart beat quicken in fear, her body began to slightly tremble.

Minori slightly looked over at Sakura and noticed that she wasn't afraid. In fact, she was smiling. Minori without even realizing it had grabbed onto Sakura's hand for comfort. Sakura had felt her hand slightly shaking, and looking over she could she in Minori's eyes that she was terrified. She grabbed Minori's hand back in response, giving it a slight squeeze. She lean closer to Minori and whisper, "Its ok Minori-chan. I promise he won't hurt you he's a friend." hearing this Minori seemed to stop trembling, but Sakura could tell that she still felt uneasy.

"So, Shibuya-san. Where is everyone?" Sakura asked.

"Oh, well I sent them all on a little errand. I needed to talk to you two about something."

"To us? What's wrong?"
