This is it!
A continuation of the Secrets lead to Sorrow story line. Now, before I go on, I should let you guys know that it has been a LONG time since I even thought about this story. Years, I think? but it just doesn't seem fair to leave these characters on a cliff with out a proper ending. There was a lot I had planned for this story that I can't remember for the life of me. So in the event of trying again...I'm gonna have to wing it for the next couple of chapters until I get that flow back. So bare with me you guys.

Nevertheless, This story will go on. And I will stick to it the best I can.

Liz was the closest thing I had to a mother. My own died long before I was even found by my father. So naturally when something like this came up, I'd flock to her side asking her questions. When I confronted her this time though...I couldn't even squeak out a word. The look in her eyes told me she understood even with out me explaining it. Like the natural tough mother she was, her arms immediately wrapped around me and comforted me like no other could. Tears welled in my eyes as I began to sob. On top of the events of lately...this had to have been the worst surprise yet.

A couple more hours of searching and they found a cave blocked off by a massive boulder. Nerina thought that it may have been a burial place for either the Cuthra or the Daoine. Ancient humans didn't bury their dead this way, so this MUST have been a clue as to where her father truly was. Moving the large boulder from it's place was definitely a job for Hellboy. With his strength it was out of the way in a matter of moments. Once it was Nerina turned on a flash light to inspect it further.
It was a tunnel. Further inspection would tell her that it may have gone down for a long ways. The bigger question however, is if this tunnel led to one chamber, or many. She stood back up and cocked her hip to one side, a sigh escaping her blue lips as both Desmond and her uncle stood next to her.

"Well?" Hellboy asked

"There's no telling where it leads, but it goes down a ways...We should let Aunt Liz and Dante know where we're going and give them our coordinates in case they want to catch up with us" Nerina nodded to him and then looked over at Desmond. There was still sour emotions there between the two of them, but the closer they got to having something, the more serious they were about their mission. This look to him, told him he should be the one to pass along the message.

"On it" He nodded firmly and turned away from them so either of them could hear his voice clearly "Hey guys, Nerina found a cave system. Dad and I are going to follow her into it and see what's down there. Our location is..." He read off a set of numbers from a gadget on his wrist "Spark 2, out"

"Roger Spark 2, We've got your location and will pass it on to home base" Dante was the one to respond, giving him their location in return "Be careful, Brother" He added to message.

Desmond was going to ignore his last part, but he decided to respond "I'll take good care of her"

"Nerina can take care of herself" Dante laughed in response "I'm more worried about you and dad"

Although Desmond was still angry, he knew the seriousness of the mission they were on, and that Dante wanted to keep things on a positive note in case one of them were to get hurt or captured. This was a code they lived by since the both of them entered the BPRD. No matter their feelings towards each other, they were brothers and they had to let the other know, they still had the other's back. So Desmond let a small smile slip onto his lips nodding "Will do, Take care of yourself"

"Always" Dante replied "Red 2, out"

With that, their communication ended. Keeping the channel open in case of emergencies but, for now they had their half of the mission to worry about. Desmond turned back to his red and blue skinned companions "All set"

Nerina looked up at Desmond and noticed his change of tone. There was less of that ice cold hardness to his voice, and bitterness in his eyes. He seemed better and more focused now that he talked with his other half. This was a good sign, and it made Nerina relax more about what they were about to do "Good" She nodded and sighed slowly looking back at the mouth of the cave "Then we go in"

"Ready when you are, Rina" Hellboy nodded swing his gun off his shoulder and at the ready in his hands.

With that, they ventured on.

I spent like an hour thinking of ways to continue on with this part of the chapter but in the end I decided that I would end here and pick it back up this week when I have more inspiration.

I will try to keep pushing out chapters more frequently though. Like I said before, this story deserves an end. A good one at that.

Sorry for such a long delay you guys, hope you enjoy this short quip.
