AN- I know, you don't have to tell me. This is horribly late, I have been having the worst writers block for the longest time and I couldn't handle it. I'm hoping to maybe get a few more chapters out but.. You know.
I burst out of the front door, looking at what I saw in utter horror.
"Maura, what is going on?" I didn't realise I was screaming.
She looked at me, a smile curling the edge of her lips in an evil way.
"You know I am not Maura, but she is I." The voice wasn't Maura's, but it was coming out of Maura. Suddenly I remembered what I had been trying to block out.
That night.
She's back.
Suddenly, the world started swimming. Fear engulfed me, and I saw the ground flying up to meet me. Then everything turned black.
When I woke, I knew I wasn't in the front yard any longer. I was comfortable, and my head was on a pillow. Was I on the bed?
I opened my eyes slightly and saw the walls of the bedroom. Suddenly, Maura's smell wreathed around me, and there was a gentle hand on my forehead.
"Shh, go back to sleep." She said softly, and suddenly, knowing she was okay, I was ready to sleep for a month.
"If I wasn't so tired, I would yell at you for shushing me..." I mumbled sleepily.
She chuckled. "Well, I'm glad you're tired then."
Then I drifted back to sleep with her hand combing through my hair.
I opened my eyes, and the first thing I noticed was Maura's absence. Then I remembered part of what had happened. I got up quickly, almost immediately leaning on the wall as a bout of dizziness overtook me, and I realised I had a pounding headache. and walked through the house, calling her name. I stepped outside, and she was in the front yard, just standing there, watching the sun.. rising, or setting?
Suddenly, I began to panic. What day was it? What time? How long had I been sleeping?
Maura must have heard me begin to hyperventilate, because she turned around. She looked at me, not seeming to want to touch me.
"Are you okay? Your breathing has noticeably sped up, and you look flushed."
"Maura, what time is it? What day is it? What happened?"
She looked at me in semi-horror.
"You mean you haven't looked?"
I stared at her.
She grabbed me and pulled me in the house, and into her room. I looked in the full body mirror, the image of me in my white tank top and boxers staring back at me.
Except there were bruises and cuts covering my arms and legs.
And there was a bump on the side of my head.
The world swam, and suddenly thin, but strong arms surrounded me, holding me up. I felt the softness of her bed on my back, and her cool hands on my face as she told me to breathe deeply. I tried, but I couldn't hold on, and then I was swallowed by the blackness.
AN- Guys I'm sorry. Things.. Well, nevermind. Let's just stick with from bad to worse. Getting to work on the next chapter right now, but there's gonna be a trigger warning.
