I, Merely Your Butler
Chapter Seven : Sinful thoughts
Sebastian pretended to wake up as Ciel entered his wide room, sitting straight up and stratching his back and arms with a yawn. He spied as his butler advanced closer to the breakfast table through half-lidded eyes , like a cat eyeing its prey. The change in his butler's behaviour was barely even noticeable, but he didn't fail to see it. He even looked slightly distracted. He sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for the demon to approach him with the day's clothes. When he did, he didn't flinch when he undressed him. He didn't flinch as Ciel's fingers brushed against his exposed skin. He just stared, amused. Once he was fully dressed, the butler didn't even seem to notice the change in his behaviour. He really was distracted.
The smug feeling inside of him grew stronger, because he knew he was the reason for that. The one and only.
He smiled. "Did you ever feel the happiness that you get when you feel that you own something?" The butler squinted his eyes. "I do own your soul." He replied misleadingly softly. Sebastian's smiled turned into a wicked smile, hidden to the demon's eyes. "Indeed you do. What's for breakfast today?"
Finny was just trimming the trees when he heard a sigh in the nearby bushes. Silent as a cat, he approached the source of the sound, shears in hand just in case.
In between the tortured roses, he could see Ciel angrily fixing his wrongs with a frustrated expression upon his porcelain features. He frowned and listened to the bulter's ramblings.
"How is it possible that a demon could infiltrate the property right under my nose? And what's more, taint my master's soul? Those... things he did..." the butler paused, and sighed again. "I should be mad about this!" he exclaimed a tad bit louder.
Finny put a hand to his mouth. What was all that crazy talk he had just heard? He had already forgotten half of it. What had he just said? It was probably important. Why did he have to have such a short attention span?!
Ciel shook his head and focused back on fixing Finny's damage. He had mixed feelings about that unknown demon. He couldn't refrain himself from feeling excited, because it was an interesting event, but at the same time it was frustrating that he had been able to penetrate the property without the butler feeling his presence, that once he had had in front of him, was unmistakably strong. He felt his focus was loose, as his thought always ended up drifting back to the enigma the other demon represented.
He had to prove his superiority. If he presented himself again. Somehow.
He had let himself be overwhelmed that time in the bathroom, and wouldn't be fooled twice.
First, he had to think about how the demon had been able to put some of his energy into the child. Had he done it just to annoy him? Because it was working. And then again it wasn't. It added such an interesting colour to it. Something perfect is just boring. Every pretty thing always has its imperfections. Or rather has to have them in order to be truly beautiful.
And it was annoying how that demon had suddenly made his life much more interesting.
The dinner was perfect, as always. But there was something that Sebastian was savouring more that dinner. Oh, the lost look in Ciel's eyes was just priceless. It was so subtle and obvious at the same time.
He couldn't refrain himself from displaying a tiny but content smile as Meyrin told him about how she had tripped while carrying the plates and how sorry she was for the mess she had caused. He just nodded and hummed, his uncovered chocolate eye fixed upon his intertwined fingers. He had long since lost interest in his dinner which sat half finished on the plate, cold but flawless nonetheless. It shone with contained amusement and lust as further aback Ciel was making a poor job of containing some annoyed sighs. He just felt so smug about the whole affair. He knew he had the reins in his hand. And that he wasn't sharing them.
"Goodnight, Young Master." said Ciel's hushed voice in the dark as he laid still under the covers. "Yeah," he absentmindedly grunted , in a hurry to see the demon leave.
To join him shortly after, of course.
His human body seemed to act as a barrier between this world and his powers he esteemed, and the barrier was let opened when he "shapeshifted", though it physically strained him. Basically, Ciel would be able to detect him whenever he returned to his original appearance. That could be fun.
He waited wide awake for an hour and a half, eyes wide open, adrenaline coursing through his whole body at the idea of confronting his demonic butler once again. Seeing the defiance in his eyes. The fierce clashing of their energies.
He slipped out of bed, unable to contain himself anymore. He changed his silk pyjamas for an abandoned long shirt in his bottom drawer, so that he wouldn't tear any more clothes. It could raise suspicions.
He headed down the stairs to the area where the butler's room was supposed to be. It didn't surprise him to see he wasn't there, he had expected him to be in the kitchen but had checked the room just in case. But when he didn't find him in the kitchen either, he was intrigued. Where had he gone?
He decided to shapeshift and feel the source of his energy. He felt himself getting closer and closer in a gradually darker and darker corridor, and he could feel he was there when suddenly, out of nowhere, somebody dragged him into one of the empty rooms with surprising strength.
He shivered feeling the person's breath on the back of his neck.
"Revenge time." whispered Ciel's fluid voice.
