HOLAAAA! Of course I'm starting off by saying thank you to everyone who reviewed, favorited, followed, etc. You guys are the best, it means so much to me to know you like the story. Also, I know Steve and Natasha may seem a little OOC in this chapter, but that's only because it goes with my plot line and I feel like Steve by now is becoming more accustomed to being around Haven and the 21st century. If you don't like it I'm sorry, if you do then great! So without further ado, here is chapter 6!
One day, you're gonna want to be married to your best friend.

"Why do you own property out here again Tony?" Bruce Banner, who sat in the back of the taxi bus, asked.
Tony shrugged. "It seemed reasonable to own property in every state and most countries around the world."
"Doesn't that cost a lot though?"
Tony turned around as much as he could in his seat to blankly stare at his science bro.
"Right. Billionaire."
An hour and a half later, everyone was gathering their luggage out of the taxi. In front of them stood a giant ranch house. Steve took Haven's suitcase for her to bring into the house. He hoped their rooms would be close, or at least close enough. In the past week, ever since she'd spent the night with him, they'd made a habit of it. It was when Steve found himself unable to sleep at night that he'd get up and go to her room where he could find peace and sleep easily. Luckily for him, they were the first ones in the house so as soon as Haven picked which room she wanted he took the one right across the hall.
"We're gonna need to go to the grocery store to get some food and stuff?" Pepper told everyone once they were settled.
"I can go." Haven offered. "I want to pick up some a few things anyway."
"Yeah, I forgot a couple things, so I'll go with." Steve told her.
"Perfect," Pepper smiled. "You guys can go when Tony, Bruce, and Clint get back with the rental cars." Steve and Haven agreed and went to their rooms to get ready.
As Haven was changing into a different shirt and some shorts, Natasha walked into her room. "Hey, I wanted to talk to you."
"Sure, what's up?"
Natasha was nervous, Haven could see it. In the short time she'd known the assassin, she'd nervous seen her like this. "Are you ok Nat? You're acting weird."
"I have this friend."
Haven giggled. "Oh really? A friend?"
Natasha gave Haven an amused smirk. "Yes, a friend. She's not used to expressing a lot of emotion, and she doesn't exactly do too well with love. But she likes this guy. Her…business partner. And she thinks that even though she likes him, it would be unprofessional to be with him in any way. And she just doesn't know what to do."
The brunette shook her head understandably. "Well, first of all, I think that crap about thinking it's unprofessional is an excuse."
"An excuse for what?"
"Not being with him. You…she is telling herself that she can't be with him because of the reason even though, I think, she's really just scared that if she does do something she's gonna get rejected."
"She is not!"
"Ok, let me rephrase that." Haven said calmly. "I think she afraid of getting hurt. And she's not used to being scared, and that's why she's so confused. And being scared is only making her a lot more scared because she thinks something is wrong with her. Nothing's wrong you Tash."
Unexpectedly, the red head looked up at Haven, tears brimming her eyes. "I-I don't…"
Haven pulled her new friend into a tight embrace, allowing the woman to silently cry on her shoulder. "What do I do Haven? This isn't me."
"Talk to Clint. He'd be an idiot not to feel the same way."
"Well that doesn't help, he is an idiot."
Haven laughed. "You're strong Nat, whatever the outcome is you'll pull through."
Natasha sat up straight and wiped her tears. "Thank you. And don't tell anyone I cried…please."
"Of course not." Haven hugged her again. "I'm going to the store with Steve and you're gonna go talk to Clint, and when I come back I want every detail."
Natasha smiled and nodded.
"Can I ask you a question though?" Tony's daughter asked. "Why did you come to me? Not that I'm not glad you did, I'm always here for you. But I mean, we haven't gotten to talk much, don't you have a best friend or something?"
"Clint is kind of my best friend. And being an assassin and all, we don't really get to make many other. Besides, assassins are trained to mask emotion, it would be too awkward. And I was afraid Pepper was gonna tell Tony. Besides I figured you were a sympathetic and compassionate person, so…here I am." She sniffled. "You're not gonna tell anyone, are you?"
"Not unless you say it's ok."
"Good. Thank you."
"It's no problem Nat."

"Need any more pop tarts Stud?" Haven stared into the cart full of pop tarts laughing.
Steve threw another box in before pushing the cart further down the aisle. "Thor told me to buy as many as I could, he's obsessed."
"I see that." Without warning, Haven jumped into the cart, sitting down inside it.
"What are you? Five? Get out of there." Steve couldn't contain his laughter. She was such a kid sometimes.
"Never!" She giggled. "Come on Stud, you're strong enough to push me!"
"I'm pretty sure every human being on earth able to push you, you weigh like two pounds."
"Shut up super soldier, we're not all as advanced as you."
"I bet that even if I was still a little guy I could push you."
"You could not have been that little Steven Rogers."
Steve laughed. "I barely passed 5"6'."
"I'm 5"6' you douchebag, what are you trying to say?"
"Your height is cute on you though. But for a guy in the 1940's, being skinny and short wasn't what girls were looking for in a guy. They wanted soldiers, you know, tall, strong men, and I…wasn't that."
Steve moved to the side of the cart to get something off a shelf. When he turned around he was surprised to come face to face with his beautiful best friend. He was even more surprised when she kissed his cheek, so corner of his mouth. "If I had been alive in the 1940's, I would have dated you."
"That's because you would've felt bad and dated me out of pity."
"No." Haven whispered. "Because you have an amazing personality, and that's why I would've fallen in love with you back then. I wouldn't have cared about how tall or buff you were. In fact, I've seen an old photo of you, I think you were cute."
Steve had missed everything after I would've fallen in love with you. Just when he thought he was getting over his huge boyish crush and she says something like that. Haven slipped back into the cart. "Let's go, we still have a bunch more stuff to get, Stud Muffin."
"All right. What do you want to make for dinner Cupcake?"
Haven deepened her voice so that it sounded masculine. "I want you for dinner."
Steve couldn't help the blush that creeped all the way up his neck into his cheeks at her comment. He knew she was joking, but just the thought…
"Aww, you're so cute when you blush!" Steve blushed even more. "Aww Steve! You're completely red!"
"Because you suck." Steve mumbled.
Haven let out a loud laugh. "Do you need a hug?"
He shook his head and pulled her into a hug the best he could since she was still in the grocery cart. He decided in the end just to lift her out of it.
"Steven!" The girl screeched. "You are such a loser!" Despite her comments, she giggled as he twirled her around.
The super soldier was about to say something when he caught the eye of two teenage girls staring at them. He cleared his throat and placed Haven back on the ground while trying with all he had not to burst out laughing. Haven noticed his change in behavior and the aversion of his eyes. She looked behind her, understanding then why Steve stopped his playfulness. She waved toward the two girls.
"We're sorry!" One of them, with bright red hair, said. "You guys are just really adorable!"
"Are you dating?" The other brunette one asked.
Before Haven could speak Steve interjected. "We're married actually." He placed an arm around his best friend and smirked.
The teenagers let out little squeals of excitement. "You guys are so cute together." The red head told them. "How long have you been married?"
"Two years tomorrow." Haven played along. "We own a ranch here, so we decided to come down and spend our anniversary here."
As much as Haven and Steve knew it was so wrong to lie to these girls for their own personal enjoyment, they couldn't help but find it too funny.
"Oh my god, happy early anniversary!" Both girls blurted out.
"Thank you." The soldier and dancer laughed, although for a different reason then what the girls thought.
"Well it was nice to meet you. I'm Haleigh by the way, and that's Jennifer." The brunette introduced her and her friend.
"I'm Tony and this is Pepper." Steve kept a perfect poker face. "It was nice to meet you guys too."
Haven would've said something along those lines also, if she weren't trying to keep in her hysterical laughter by shoving her face into Steve's chest. When he assured her that they were gone Haven almost fell to the floor.
"I can't even describe to you how much I love you right now!" Haven continued dying of laughter, not even noticing Steve's face light up more than it already had.
There it was again. She would've loved the old Steve, and she loves this Steve. Maybe he had a shot after all. But was he brave enough to take it?
