Humphrey's POV

"Happy Friday!" I yelled getting up as soon as I heard my 'Kids Aren't Alright' alarm. "Stop shouting it's to early!" Nikki called back sounding exhausted. Feeling full of energy and in a good mood because of the sunshine outside I quickly got out of bed and, still in my boxers, ran into Nikki's room pushing the door open. "Fridaaaaay." I shouted, pushing her door open. "Shut up you dunce!" She replied, pushing the covers off. I rolled my eyes when I noticed she didn't have any underwear on. "Can you at least keep your panties on?" I asked as she stretched and hugged me. "No." She replied, letting me go before lightly slapping her ass and starting to get ready.

I've always been one to get excited for Fridays, but even more so now I have Kate to look forward to. I'll have to ask her if she likes Friday mornings as much as I do if I remember because I don't want to be the only one. I headed back into my room and pulled off my boxers. I threw them into the wash basket that I have to empty when I get home and grabbed a fresh pair of black Calvin Kleins from my draw. I pulled out a plane white T-shirt, a slate grey sweater with brown patches on the shoulders and elbows, a grey-black pair of skinny jeans.

"Wow, you planning to go somewhere fancy before school? You look fine." Nikki complimented from the door. I snapped to look at her in a mild panic before calming down. "Thanks, and don't sneak up on me I could've died right there. You look nice to." I said with a smile. She was wearing a navy blue skirt with tights and a white cropped hoodie "Thanks, I don't think you tell me that enough" She smiled jokingly.

"Har har, anyways, what you think then, honestly?" I asked, giving her a quick spin. I want to try and look good for Kate today."I said you look fine. Great even, Kate is going to be all over you and trying to get her hands in your jeans as soon as she sees you. Your ass looks good in those jeans by the way." Nikki grinned, biting her lip. "Now come on, and I think falling all over me and doing the hand in my jeans thing is a bit of a stretch don't you?" I asked rhetorically, checking myself in the mirror. "What ever you say, but any girl would get carried away with you." She smiled, taking one last glance at me before she left.

I grabbed my David Beckham Instinct cologne and sprayed some on my neck. I usually wore it if I was going out somewhere worth wearing it as even I think it smells amazing, but I feel like I have more of a reason to wear it now, so I should probably look into buying some more. I did one last check in the mirror before starting out of my room and downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast.

"What do you want Nikki!" I called up the stairs as I grabbed the cereal down from the top of the cupboard. "Just cereal please!" She yelled back. Fair enough, keeping it simple makes my life easier. I sorted our breakfast and packed lunches out and set them out on the table, packing the milk and cereal away as Nikki came in. "Thanks big bro." She yawned, sitting down and starting on her cereal.

Once we were finished I started washing up the bowls. "Go get your bag ready. I already made your lunch so don't forget it okay and make sure you take any homework you need to with you!" I called as she ran back upstairs. "Kay!" She replied absently. I rolled my eyes and headed to the coat rack where my Tan, vintage style satchel school bag was hanging. I grabbed it off the rack and double check all my things were in there before putting my lunch in the other spare pocket, buckling it up.

I grabbed my bike gear from under the stairs and started to get ready. "You walking with Lilly again today?" I asked as Nikki came back down stairs with a puffy, pastel pink coat on. "Yeah, I probably will be from now on, so if you want you can give my bike things to Kate, I'm sure she'll need them more than me." She replied with a sly grin. I pretended to clutch my heart and fell to my knees. "Your words wound me so." I wheezed, reaching out to her. "Oh shut up you big baby." She grinned, pushing my paw away. "Ouch, cold." I replied with a smile, pulling my bag on. Nikki rolled her eyes and smiled, heading out the front door. "Wait for me!" I called after her, pulling my bag over my head.

"You got your lunch?" I asked, locking the house door. "Yep, I double checked, I have everything." She replied with a sigh. "Okay good. I'll see you at school." I smiled, pulling my keys from my pocket. Nikki blew me a jokey, over exaggerated kiss and Lilly shot me a sweet smile that her and Kate seemed to share, before heading down the path. I sighed and pulled my keys out of my pocket, filing through them. *House, bike, bike lock, garage.* I recited in my mind. It would be the last one.

I unlocked the garage and pulled the door up and there was my bike, sat exactly where me and Kate left it last night. I felt my insides warm a little remembering how happy she seemed just to sit and watch me working. I pushed the thoughts to the back of my mind and got onto my bike. I pushed it off the center stand and pushed it back out of the garage and onto the path before getting off again, closing the garage door and locked it. I got back on and started the engine, adjusting my bag to be on the Pillion seat, starting the engine. It roared to life with a new 'spring in it's step' sound thanks to the new exhausts. I gave it a few small revs to warm it up before pulling away, up the drive and down the road.

*Ten minuet skip*

Only running into a little school traffic on the way in, I finally arrived with about twenty minuets to spare. I cruised up the road to the car park where I saw Hutch standing at the bike spaces. There were a few cars parked on the grid, but Kate's wasn't one of them. Guess she wasn't having an early morning today. I gave the bike a few revs as I pulled up beside Hutch before shutting off the engine, pushing it onto it's center stand, removing the keys and putting them in my bag.

"Morning bud." He grinned as I pulled my goggles and helmet off. "Morning Hutchykins." I replied with a mock 'mummy' tone which got a chuckle out of Hutch. "So, what'd you do to the bike? She sounds fit to fuck." He remarked, nodding to the Triumph. I chuckled lightly as I took off my bike jacked and trousers, folding them. "When Kate was over I put on the new exhausts, take a look. Also please don't fuck my bike." I smiled taking off my gloves, putting my bag back on then tucking them and my goggles into the helmet, grabbing all my gear from the floor.

"Oh yeah, Christ they got some mouth now huh." He said, sounding impressed. "Yeah, I didn't think she'd be this loud though. I'll have to be careful if I take any early morning drives." I chuckled, waiting for Hutch to stop eyeing up my bikes exhaust pipes. "Say, speaking of things looking fit to fuck, you look hot. What's the occasion?" He asked as we started towards the main entrance.

"Nothing, I just thought I'd wear something casual today you know? I'm in that feel good Friday mood." I lied, trying to play it of with a smile. But Hutch had know me to long and could read me like book made for first years in a kindergarten. "Suuure, not like it's to impress Kate or anything." He laughed, nudging me and winking. I didn't say anything and just tried to give him a cold stare but when I looked up, he was flicking he tongue between his fingers. We burst out laughing and I pushed him lightly. "I aughtta beat your ass." I threatened light heartedly, still chuckling. "Oh no daddy, please don't." He replied.

I can't say anything to him without it being turned on it's head and thrown back at me as a joke. But it's Hutch and Hutch is a great friend, wouldn't have him any other way. "Right, I've got to go to the library and see about a new calculator cause mine has done runner. I'll see you at Lunch Humpster." He smiled, patting my shoulder before heading off towards the library. "Yeah, see you bud." I replied with a smile. *Crazy bugger.* I smiled to myself, starting off towards my locker. I hummed the 'The Kids Aren't Alright' to myself as I strolled down the silent hall, nodding my head to the tune playing in my mind.

I unlocked my locker and put all my bike gear inside before spinning my bag around, taking out my pencil case and phone before doing it back up and pushing it neatly on top of all my gear. I shut it again and locked it, looking towards the main entrance to see if Kate had arrived yet. Still no sign of her. I wasn't to bothered about it though because I know she'll show up soon.

I continued humming as I headed up to tutor. The school was usually quieter at this time on Fridays. Everyone else was always slightly slower at getting up, especially Salty, Shaky and Mooch, those three are the worst for it. Me and Hutch always did our best to be in at the usual times no matter what day it was, be it Monday to Friday we were usually on it. Nikki and Lilly were still walking but would be here soon so I could go and torment them and their friends, but I think it's alone at the tutor again for me.

*Twenty minuet skip*

(Bell rings)

Well, that's nine o'clocks arrival. I'd almost fallen asleep it was so quiet up here. The hubbub outside had only gotten busy a few minuets ago, so we'll defiantly have some late comers. I got up off the floor and dusted myself off, adjusting my jeans to be straight so I wouldn't look a mess once the crowd of animals know as the English tutor groups came in. "Humphrey?" A recognisably soft and beautiful voice asked. It was Kate, stood there in black short shorts and a salmon pink T-shirt that hung low on one shoulder. She's the definition of the perfect girl; Beautiful figure, beautiful face, beautiful personality, and is so kind, everything was perfect.

"You look handsome this morning." She smiled, pushing her glasses up her nose slightly before jumping at me and pulling me into a hug. Her compliment made me feel a little better about choosing to wear what I wore. I mean I love the outfit and I know I look decent in it, it just means something coming from her and not myself staring into a mirror. "Look who's talking. You look beautiful as usual." I replied, returning the compliment as best I could. She let me go and looked at the floor with a big grin on her face and her tail wagging. Was she trying to hide a blush?

"So how'd the bike treat you this morning. I saw you leave from my bed room window whist I was getting dressed." She smiled, putting her hands behind her back as she leaned on the wall opposite me. "Good, It's louder than I though though. I'm glad I didn't wake you up but I'm pretty sure I woke everyone else up." I replied with a smile. She giggled cutely back and looked at me from the corner of her eye. *Oh my god she's cute* I smiled to myself, not being able to take my eyes off her.

"Nah I doubt it, it honestly isn't that loud, it wasn't from where I was." She shrugged as sir ran into the corridor. "Morning Jackson, Wilson." He smiled quickly, unlocking the door, letting us in. "Morning Sir, had a busy morning?" Kate asked, looking up at me trying not to laugh. "Yeah, about as busy as the town roads on black Friday, I've had no thinking time this morning trying to plan my Year eight lesson." He sighed, dropping his planner and laptop on the desk taking a loud sigh as he sat down. I snickered at Kate who nearly burst out laughing. "He's crazy." She whispered, cover her mouth with her hand. I nodded with a judging look on my face which made her laugh a little.

Kate's POV

Oh my god Humphrey looked hot. He looked like a model you'd see in a high end clothing store accept better. I swear he's the definition of the perfect guy, he's handsome, looks incredible and he so kind and caring, one of the nicest guys ever. I'd put money on it.

We were just getting to the end of English now with Mrs Alton in the room next door to Mr Ashton. She was a good teacher for the most part, was always up for a laugh and made her lessons interesting but she always give us weekend homework on Fridays, which meant today was English homework day. "Right you motley crew, I have a homework here for you on the themes and textual techniques of Robert Louis Stevenson's, The strange case of Dr Jeykll and Mr Hyde, which we've just covered for the Dory's of the class. As usual this is due for Monday. I want one P.E.E.L paragraph on themes and one on Textual techniques." She explained. I groaned feeling my heart drop and buried my face in my paws.

"What's up Kate? You alright?" Humphrey asked soothingly, putting his paw on my shoulder. I instantly better at his touch and picked my head up. "It's this homework, I'm clueless, I got a three in my mock exam because of questions like this." I admitted as Humphrey wrote down the homework on his phones notes. "Really? Well I can always help you if you want." He offered, pocketing his phone and smiling down at me. "You would?" I asked, a smile speading across my face and my tail wagging again. My heart lifted with my spirits as he nodded.

"Well... Sure. If you want me to of course." He replied respectfully. "you kidding that'd be the best thing ever, I could really do with some help on these." I admitted , my eyes getting locked into his. God they get me every time. "Is after school today okay?" He asked." Yes." I blurted, not actually thinking to weather it was okay or not. "I think." I added quickly. Humphrey chuckled as we got up, ready to leave for break. "Well your mum text me last night and said I'm free to come over any time I like." He smiled with confidence. I felt my heart lift and my tail wag faster. Another day with Humphrey, this has to be the best week in forever.

"So what are you going to do over break?" I asked, looking up to him as we left English. "Well, I think I'm going to go and find Hutch and the lads, see what their up to. What about you?" He replied, looking down the stairs to see if they we're already at the canteen. I couldn't see them so I guessed they weren't. "Probably go find the girls, you sure you don't want to come say hi to them?" I asked hopefully. Humphrey paused for a few seconds and frowned as he thought. "You know what? Sure." He smiled. "Awesome, I know they would like to meet you." I smiled as we started off to the science corridor where we usually hung out.

"Girls, I have someone here who wanted to meet you." I smiled, leading Humphrey to the bench at the very end of the hall by a large window looking into the car park. "Humphrey? Wow he's even hotter in person." Libby sighed as Jess frowned a little at me and her. I felt a little jealousy awake in my stomach when she said that and I felt like pulling him into a cuddle, but I don't know if he'd like that too much. "Hey Humphrey, Unlike these two I have some decency. I'm Ruby Cuva, That's Libby Thomas and that there is Jess Tana." Ruby smiled, getting off the bench and holding out her paw to shake his.

He accepted it and smiled. Honestly I was hoping more than one of them would decide to say hi before trying to flirt with him. I grabbed my arm and hugged it hoping to show them that he is not for them. "Isn't he just the cutest?" I beamed, trying to make it clear that Humphrey was my best friend and he's not going anywhere. What can I say, I want to be selfish for once by keeping my crush as my best friend, I just have to do what Nikki said.

"Your one to talk." He replied slyly with a laugh. Ruby snickered but Jess looked just as bitter as before and all Libby could do was clutch her heart like she was watching romance tragedy. My heart fluttered at his compliment and I tried not to show my mild blush I was developing but I'm pretty sure that my tail wagging was enough to give it away. I pushed my glasses on and looked away. "Oh shush." I replied, smiling up at him as the two of us sat on the floor.

"So Humphrey, I saw your sister with Lilly again today, how is she?" Libby asked, obviously trying to play of the fact that her opening line was calling him hot which I'm still a little salty about. "She's good, not got into any trouble... At least from what she's told me." He said, putting on a fake suspicious tone making them laugh. I couldn't help but giggle when I looked at him. He has that sort of charm about his personality that just makes it so that you can't not laugh at any of the small jokey remarks he makes.

*Skip to the end of the day*

The rest of the day had been pretty slow, Humphrey met up with Hutch and the others at lunch whilst I dealt with the girls telling my how nice and attractive Humphrey was, even Ruby was getting in on it and the more they did, the more defensive I got of him. It was History now, and as Humphrey said a few day ago, the more we had History the slower it started to feel, but the drag of a lesson was finally coming to a close.

"Right, Glue in any sheets you have loose from today and shift your asses off home. Put scissors back where you found them, Carl I'm looking at you." Our no filter teacher Mrs Cleak started, sitting back in her chair. I giggled at her as Carl put three pairs of scissors on his desk laughing over at Ted Anderson at the back of the class.

"What did I say about these lessons getting longer?" Humphrey asked closing his book, picking it up and putting it on the shelf behind us with the others. "You were right. I don't even know why I took this subject, I could've take Geography or something." I replied, leaning on my chair, yawning. "Yeah, but according to Mooch, Geography is worse so I wouldn't be so sure." He replied with a smile as Mrs let us leave.

We had a fair walk to our lockers as they were on the other side of the school which doesn't help me as my feet are already killing me. "I think I'll probably head home first to drop the bike off and tell Nikki where I'll be then I'll be over yours, so it gives you some time to tell your parents." Humphrey started as we headed into the corridor where our lockers were. "It's okay, I already text mum and she said it was fine, so just come over when your ready. I'll be ready when you get there." I smiled which a jokey wink. Humphrey chuckled and smiled as we got to our lockers.

I grabbed out my baggy black hoodie and Humphrey pulled on all his bike gear, packing his things into his bag before we locked our lockers and got out of dodge of the huge Friday crowd we would have to deal with if we stayed any longer. "I literally won't be five minuets. Actually I'll tell Nikki now so I don't have to worry, Nikki!" Humphrey called, interrupting himself. Nikki and Lilly stopped in their tracks and looked back at us looking a little shook.

"What!" She called back making the some of the people near by look over at the two. I couldn't help but giggle as they yelled at each other across the corridor. "I'll be at Kate's after school to help her with homework so I won't be home for a little, think you can handle it?" He asked as Nikki and Lilly started walking with us. "Yeah of course I can I'll just throw the TV on or something." Nikki replied. "Oh, Humphrey's coming over. I'll have to make sure I look good before he get there." Lilly smiled at Nikki as the two giggle. Humphrey rolled his eyes and smiled at them and I lightly hit Lilly shoulder. "Not funny." I hissed, trying not to laugh.

"I'll see you soon then. Nikki, you getting a lift with us?" I asked as we headed towards the car leaving Humphrey with the bike. He waved at me before getting on and starting the engine. It roared through the car park as he headed down the road and out of sight. "If that's okay with your mum." She replied as we all go into mum's car. "If what's okay with me?" Mum asked as I got in the front with Nikki and Lilly in the back. "Giving Nikki a lift home." I said, not giving mum a chance to answer. "Sure that's okay, there's always room in here." She smiled as we started off down the car park to home.

Once we arrived I quickly jumped out of the car and ran into the house up to my room. I dropped my bag on the floor beside my desk and grabbed my best perfume I had, spraying it over me before making my bed and packing away any clothes I forgot to put in the wash basket. If I leave any underwear out, which I doubt I will, I might die of embarrassment. I finished my bed and made sure everything looked nice just as the front door opened and I heard Humphrey's voice.

"Hi Eve, I assume Kate's in." I heard him say with a hint of curiosity. "Yeah, she's just in her room. Don't get carried away up there." Mum said with a chuckle. Strange I thought, She's never ever made jokes like that about guys, even though I've not dated one before she still wouldn't dare, so why with Humphrey. "Oh, I didn't mean to make you think that." I heard him reply, stopping on the stairs. I heard mum laughing and telling him to relax and he started up the stairs again.

He knocked on the door and waited a few seconds before coming in. "House keeping." He smiled, poking his head through the door with a cheeky grin in his face. "Hey Humphrey, You ready?" I asked him my tail starting to wag as soon as I saw him. I got up and pulled out a seat at my desk for him. "I sure am." He chuckled, dropping a note book full of notes of the book we were studying on the desk, sitting on the stool. "You can have the chair, I quite alright with this... Stool?" He started before realising it wasn't a stool, but a tiny chair I stole from Lilly for a laugh.

I giggled at him as he laughed at the little chair for a second. "I have to say, your room is not what I expected, I assumed there'd be less... Poster." He said, looking around at them all with an impressed smile. "Thanks, I try." I smiled back as he noticed the large bear on my bed. "Teddy bear." He snickered, pointing at it. "I find it hard to sleep without having something with me." I admitted feeling a little embarrassed. "I can fix that for you." He smirked, obviously trying to lighten the mood.

It did and it got a giggle out of me, but part of me wanted him to mean it. "I don't think it's weird." He added more seriously than before, which did make me feel better. "We going to start then?" I asked, trying to bring his mind back to what it was we were actually trying to do together. "Oh yeah, sorry." He said sincerely, turning back around. "Don't worry. The longer your here the better." I smiled. He grinned down at the desk as he flicked through his book, opening it on a double page spread labelled 'Themes and Technical techniques'.

"I knew we were bound to get a homework on this eventually so I prepped some notes. I was hoping they'll help you as much as they help me." He smiled, pushing the book to the middle of the desk. I started reading through what he'd written, and although he had some really good ideas and things down, I still had no idea how it would fit to our homework.

"Wait... I don't understand..." I said, looking over to Humphrey who'd already started writing. He stopped and looked up to me with a cute expression before pointing at the page. "Oh, well say for a theme we wanted to talk about the Gothic style Stevenson writes in, then we would just go to where Hyde kills Carew in Chapter 4, Stevenson uses this and this to display a Gothic theme." He explained leaning over to me and almost touching me, pointing with his pen at the part he was talking about.

I couldn't concentrate on anything he said, I could only look at him; When we were close it gave me butterflies. I don't know if I'm going crazy or I'm just hungry but Humphrey was the only one who made me feel like that. "Okay, I think I get it." I said, remembering the important parts he'd told me. "Okay, but if you need more help, just ask cause I'm more than happy to." He smiled before going back to his work. He really is the nicest boy I think in the whole of Jasper.

*Fourty five minuet skip*

"You got it?" Humphrey asked after talking me though the next P.E.E.L. "Yeah, Thanks for helping Humphrey because without you I wouldn't have even started." I smiled, taking my glasses off to rub my sore eyes before putting them back on again. "Want to take a break?" He asked, sounding a little concerned which was pretty cute. "Yeah please, this is tiring me out." I admitted, yawning.

"Yeah? Alright then. I'm going to run to the bathroom, if you'd be so kind as to tell me where it is." He asked, getting up and stretching. "First door on your right." I said, pointing at my wall to where the bathroom was, doing my best to show him without getting up. "Thank you muchly. I'll be back in a second." He smiled, walking out as mum came up the stairs and into my room smiling at him as they passed each other.

"So? How's it going up here?" She asked curiously, sitting on the tiny chair looking at mine and Humphrey work. "It's good, Humphrey is a massive help." I said, sitting forwards looking at Humphrey's work with mum. "God he's got neat hand writing doesn't he?" Mum asked rhetorically. She was right; Humphrey's writing did look really neat and quite professional. "you two want any snacks or any thing? A drink maybe?" Mum asked, getting up at the toilet flushed.

"Yeah could we just have two apple juices and some cookies or something?" I asked with a squinting smile. "Okay." Mum sighed, leaving and heading back down the stairs as Humphrey came back in. "Mum's just bringing some snacks up for us." I smiled as he sat back down beside me. "Oh sweet." He said victoriously doing a mini fist pump. I couldn't help but laugh at him as we waited for mum to return.

*Hour skip*

"Boom! Done!" I beamed triumphantly as Humphrey finished up his last paragraph to. "Nice job Kate, told you we'd get it done." He smiled, putting his arm around me with a heavy sigh. He got up and headed to my bed, flopping into it face first. "Damn Kate, your bed is super cozy." He shouted into the dovet. I giggled at him as my tail started wagging and joined him, laying down near the wall beside him. He rolled over and stared at the ceiling with me.

"You know something Kate. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would find someone like you. I wished for it like everyone would, but I never thought I'd actually find someone like it, but I have and I'm so thankful that I did." He said, not taking his eyes from the Owl city poster on my ceiling. I rolled over and looked at him, feeling my heart begin to quicken and a blush appearing on my cheeks.

"I'm just as lucky you know. Basically every girl likes you and I was lucky enough to be your best friend. You have any idea how good that feels?" I asked, trying to return the compliment the best way I could. "Yes, yes I do." He replied, looking at me from the corner of his eyes with a smile before sitting up. "I can't lay down for to long because I'll fall asleep." He said with a yawn.

"Speaking of which I better head home now, make sure Nikki's okay. It's the weekend as well so that means I can lie in tomorrow." He said sounding relieved. My heart sank when he said he had to go and I felt like pulling him back down on the bed. I really want him to stay for just a little longer. "Okay then... If you have to." I sighed, trying to sound as pouty as I could in hopes he'd stay a little longer.

"Hey, don't be like that." He smiled, pulling my into a hug once I got up. "I'm only down the road remember? We can always meet if we have the chance." He smiled as I put my arms around him, not wanting to let him go. "I guess so. Well, take care Humphrey." I replied, feeling a little better but still disheartened. I just want to spend more time with one of my best friends I've ever had, anyone who had a friend as good as him would know exactly how this feels, But I guess he is only down the road so I can see him whenever. I don't know what I do if we weren't friends.
