A/N - 'Sup! I'm on vaca and this idea formed in my mind yesterday and I had some time just now and wrote it out. Hope you all enjoy! :)
Standing in the doorway of Leonard's lab, Penny bit her lip as she silently kept her gaze on his ass whilst he was leaning forward on one of the worktops to write something down. He wasn't aware of her presence, his back to the door, so she simply continued to stare. Not a bad view at all. With a smirk, she wondered when exactly it was in pregnancy that hormones started messing around. She knew it wasn't this early on and resumed biting her lip to suppress a giggle at the thought of how bad she would be when she did reach that stage, considering how easily she was turned on on a normal day. Poor Leonard. On second thoughts... he'll cope, she decided.
Deciding to be sensible and announce herself instead of just standing there and staring at her husbands ass while he wrote notes on whatever experiment was set up, Penny knocked gently on the side of the doorframe. "Hey you."
Turning around, Leonard grinned when he saw Penny. "Hey!" Walking over to her, he gave her a quick kiss in greeting. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I just wanted to surprise you." Penny shrugged nervously. "So, watcha up to? Anything new in physics yet?" She asked with a twinkle in her eyes, tongue between her teeth as she grinned at him.
Leonard chuckled. "No, not yet. Just a little experiment with some lasers. Wanna see?"
"Uh..." Penny twisted her lips, setting down her purse on the table by the door.
"What?" Leonard frowned, confused by her hesitation. Despite her lack of interest in physics, she was by far the most enthusiastic person when it came to getting to see the experiments he was working on.
She had already planned what she was going to say, but now that it was time, she felt nervous. Stalling, she simply nodded. "Yeah, of course."
"Okay." Leonard accepted her new answer and went to get her a pair of goggles. "Pop these on, I'll switch off the light."
Taking the goggles, she looked at them before putting them beside his on the worktop when he shut off the lights. "Are there any risks of being around working lasers for pregnant women?"
"Wh-" Leonard's hand slipped slightly from the door handle as he spun around at the same second he finished shutting it. "Is, umm, I- I've never used these lasers in the proximity of a pregnant woman."
"Well, you're going to have to consider the risk factor of lasers and pregnancy now." Smiling, Penny took a step to close the gap between them. "Like, right now."
Blinking, Leonard simply stared at his wife, frozen to the point she wondered if she needed to get his inhaler from his jacket pocket. Finally, he raised his brows, mouth moving soundlessly a few times before he spoke, his question coming out surprisingly articulated. "Is this your way of telling me you're pregnant?"
"No; that would be 'Leonard, I'm pregnant'. This was me giving you the clue to test your brain at work. By the way, you got 100%. Congratulations, your brain worked out your wife is pregnant!" Penny hit him playfully on the shoulder with a wide grin.
"Congratulations me? You're the one who is due congratulations!"
"Well, technically we both are, the process was kind of a two person thing." Penny reminded him with a wink. "A frequently repeated process with perfect results every time, may I add."
"Indeed." Leonard laughed. "Either way, oh my God! That's amazing! We're having a baby!"
"We are." Penny confirmed, eyes closing briefly as he kissed her. When he pulled away, she slowly opened them. "So, can I watch this laser experiment of yours or do we get to skip straight to the aftershow party?"
"Oh, screw the lasers."
"Seriously, pregnant wife visits the medical doctor and her husband Doctor on her day off but you want to screw the lasers?"'
"Shut up."
"Make me."
"I could try but 100% of past experiments have proven this is not possible."
"Well, I can't promise this time is gonna be any different."
