"I got it!" Jimmy shouted as he spiked the volley ball downwards. Swizzle managed to knock it upwards, but had felt like his finger were going to break. Fang jumped up behind him and hit it over the net.
Adorabeezle slid forward and used a bunt to knock it back up. Jubileena looked impressed. "She really is able to keep up with the boys. That's saying something when she's playing with Jimmy and Fang." The redhead said smiling.
"She always was the most athletic girl in class." Taffyta pointed out. Now it was between her and Tea, but the Chinese girl had no interest in sports. Aside from the occasional spar with Fang she stayed on the sidelines. "But if we're talking about just strength, I think Fang has it overall."
Crumbelina who was sitting beside her rolled her eyes. "Please. Fang may be a martial artist, but Jimmy is hands down the strongest one in the class. He drags at least three of those huge tires behind him every day to school." She pointed out.
Swnowanna chuckled. "You're only saying it's him because you two are dating now." She said with amusement. Crumbelina blushed and turned away. She didn't admit to dating or even liking Jimmy, but she didn't deny it anymore either. "We're talking about who the most physically fit is. And as much as I hate to admit it, it's probably Manny."
"I'm sorry. Manny is well rounded, but he isn't anywhere close to as fit as Fang. Whenever he isn't sleeping, he's training." Tea said crossing her arms proudly. "He's been at it since we were little kids, and he hasn't stopped since."
"Yeah, yeah, your boyfriend is a workout junkie." Vanellope said causing Tea to blush. "But strength isn't the only thing that shows fitness. Gloyd can outrun any of them in a foot race." She bragged. She usually didn't like joining in conversations like these, but she felt like she needed to defend her friend.
Rancis scowled. He was sitting up higher on the bleachers but he could still hear every word they were saying. He turned and faced the wall behind him with a groan. He wanted to leave the gym so he didn't have to hear this, but Ryu didn't let them. Gym class was still a class, and he couldn't just let the kids out of his site.
He hated this. He hated having to hear Taffyta talk about how athletic the other guys were. Was he being childish and jealous? Yeah, he supposed. But he couldn't help it. The girl of his dreams was ogling every other guy in the classroom. Meanwhile he couldn't even get her to look his way. It made him furious.
He wasn't athletic. He knew that. He didn't play sports, he didn't do martial arts, and didn't even have any physical hobbies besides skating. The one time he'd tried to participate in a game he'd tripped on his own two feet. And in gym class, which was all about physical fitness, that meant he was the odd man out.
"Well, fitness or not, Jimmy's still has the body and the face of the bunch." Taffyta said looking over the white haired boy. Rancis cringed again and balled his fist up. Jimmy, again. She always talked about Jimmy. The dense guy who had a boxer's body, and a handsome face. At least according to her. He was sick of hearing it.
Whenever the topic of boys popped up she never failed to mention him. Whether it was about his stupid slicked back hair, or his boxing skills, she always brought him up. Crumbelina glared towards the blond who just bit down on her lollipop. "Since you two supposedly aren't dating, it's cool if I ask him out right?"
"Thought he wasn't your type?" Crumbelina said back, venom in her voice.
"Who needs type when you've got body like that?" She teased.
Rancis growled. He turned around about to ask them all to quiet down, but just as he sat up he felt a blow to the head. He heard numerous gasps as he fell to his side. "Oh my gosh! Rancis, are you okay?!" He heard someone ask. It sounded like Candlehead, but he wasn't sure.
"Make room!" He felt someone's hands over his face. "Rancis, can you hear me? How many fingers am I holding up?" The voice asked. He shook his head and tried to focus. He could barely make out the form of Ryu's face. Beside his face was his hand.
He narrowed his eyes. "Um… seventeen?"
"Oh crap!"
"Get him to the nurse!
"Dude! You got nailed-OW! What I say?!"
Rancis groaned and shook his head once again. He focused his vision and managed to make everything out. Most of the class was standing around him looking worried. A few of the others had stood back though. "What happened?" He asked confused. He felt like he'd gotten punched in the head.
Cindy nodded towards Jimmy. "Mr. Strong arm over there accidently knocked it your way. Got you right as you were turning around too. You feeling okay? Last time I saw someone get hit like that they got a concussion." She said looking slightly concerned.
Jimmy waved a hand. "Sorry about that dude. Just walk it off, you'll be fine."
Rancis glared at him. "Walk it off? You hit me in the head with the ball you jerk! You could have split my head open!" He snapped standing up.
The others looked surprised. While Jimmy was defiantly taking this lightly, he had at least apologized. That in itself was pretty rare. Rancis snapping at him was a bit surprising as well. It wasn't even like the blonde didn't have a right to be mad, but Rancis didn't really blow up at people… like ever.
Jimmy scowled. "Geez man, I said I was sorry. Chill out."
"You chill out!" He shouted back. Rancis knew it wasn't really getting hit that was making him so angry. That was part of it sure, but it wasn't the main reason. No, he was venting on the white haired boy about everything else that was going on. "What kind of moron can't knock a ball over a net?! I'm BEHIND you! How did you even manage that?!"
Jimmy now looked angry. "Well maybe you might not have gotten hit if you weren't sitting on the sidelines with the rest of the girls!" He yelled.
"Jimmy!" Crumbelina said. He was only adding fuel to the fire.
"He started it!" Jimmy said stomping forward. "The first time he's actually caught the ball all year and he's whining at me about getting hit! If you weren't such a spineless wimp you wouldn't have been up there to get hit! So as far as I'm concerned it's your fault!" He'd let his anger get the best of him now, and he didn't care what he said now.
Just as Ryu was about to reprimand Jimmy, Rancis balled his fist up and yelled. "AAAHHH! I am not a wimp!" He shouted angrily. He picked up the volleyball before tossing it into the air. He kicked it as hard as he could, and with deadly accuracy sent the ball sailing at Jimmy's head.
The white haired boy grew wide eyed just before the ball struck him right in the head. The rest of the class looked stunned as he stumbled back. "Oh no…" Larry said. He quickly stepped in front of his friend. "Hermano, calm down and-"
Jimmy looked up and everyone felt a chill up their spine. They had seen Jimmy angry before, but this was different. It wasn't just anger on his face. It was pure, unchecked fury. "I'm gonna kill you pretty boy." He said before charging towards the bleachers. Beezy and Dough quickly moved out of his way. He looked like a wild animal.
Rancis, to everyone's shock, charged back. The two boys headed right for each other, but the rest of the class quickly cut in between them. Fang and the twins grabbed Jimmy around his arms and waist. He roared in anger and tried to break loose from them. Even with all three of them, they were struggling to hold him back.
Rancis on the other hand had been easily held back. Swizzle had grabbed him around the waist and lifted him up. With his feet off the ground all he could do was flail his arms and legs. "Dude, are you crazy?! He'll kill you!" Swizzle yelled at his friend.
"I don't care! I'm not just going to let him get away with that!" Racis shouted.
Jimmy was dragging Fang and the twins across the floor, slowly but surely inching his way towards his target. Swizzle looked worried. If he actually got loose he was going to head over his way, and he didn't want to get caught in the crossfire. Just as he looked like he was about to pry himself loose from their grip, Crumbelina suddenly slid in front of him.
She held her hands up. "Jimmy, stop!" She said trying to push him back. He didn't budge, but he didn't move forward either. Had it been anyone else he probably would have tramped over them, but he couldn't bring himself to run over her. "Just calm down! If you fight you could get suspended! Or even expelled!"
Jimmy grunted before glaring at Rancis again. "I don't care!" He shouted. "If you think you're getting away with that Flutterbugger, then you got another thing coming! You poke a shark in the eye, you get swallowed whole!" He threatened.
"I'm not afraid of you!" Rancis yelled. "I'll fight you anytime! Anywhere!" Right now he was speaking out of anger. Had he been thinking rationally, he'd have reasoned that he had no chance against Jimmy. But he wasn't.
The others turned to him surprised. "Rancis, what the heck?!" Taffyta said.
Ryu stomped his foot down. "There won't be any fighting under my watch!" He said sternly.
Jimmy growled, but then grew a smirk on his face. "Then how about in the ring?! You and me, one on one, at my gym! Unless you're too much of a little punk to face me?!" He said. Ryu frowned. While he could stop them from fighting in the school, he couldn't do anything about it if they went to a gym or dojo.
Taffyta grabbed Rancis' arm. "Rancis, I don't know what the heck is wrong with you, but don't do this! You saw his match! You've seen his training! You can't beat him! Whatever macho thing you have going on just drop it and leave well enough alone!"
He looked down at Taffyta with a frown. She didn't think he could do it. She didn't even have the slightest hope he could win. "Friday." He said looking down at Jimmy. "Just you and me."
Jimmy chuckled before turning around and walking out. He knew if he stayed he'd end up trying to fight him again, so it was better that he left and cooled his head. Larry and Crumbelina followed after him, both hoping they could talk him out of it. Though they both knew it was probably hopeless. He was so mad and stubborn.
Rancis sighed and looked around at the others. They were all staring at him with shock. He had just accepted Jimmy's challenge. They were going to fight. "Are you out of your mind?!" Taffyta said shoving him. "Rancis, he's going to murder you! He's a boxer! And you've never been in a fight in your life!"
He glared at her. "Your confidence is duly noted Taffyta!" He shouted back surprising her. He began stomping out of the gym, leaving her and the others confused.
"He's going to kill you dude! For god's sake, just let it go!" Swizzle said hoping to convince his friend to back down. While he and Gloyd didn't hang out with him as much, he was still their buddy. And they didn't want to see him get killed. "You're going to his ring, in his gym, in his sport! This is totally his advantage!"
Rancis ignored him and kept doing pushups. They had thought that after a while the fear would set in and he would back out on his own, but he was serious planning on going through with this. "Dude, think about this. You're the least-"
"I'm the least athletic guy in class! I get it! If you're just going to keep throwing that in my face then get out!" He snapped. They both jumped slightly. "I'm not going to let him dis me like that. I may not be the strongest or the fastest, but I still got my pride. And I can still fight for it."
"Is your pride worth dying for…?" They turned and saw Manny and Fang approaching him. "Look, Jimmy can be an idiot, I get it. But he did apologize. Do you know how rare that is? He didn't even want to apologize when he punched Dough in the face. Maybe just cut your losses and-"
"Yes, pride is worth dying for! Everyone is always backing down from him just because they think he's stronger than everyone else. Well I'm not." Rancis said stubbornly.
"He IS stronger than everyone else!" Gloyd said. "I saw him punch a hole in the wall to kill a spider Rancis! What do you think he's going to do to your face! Don't you want to be an actor? That's going to be pretty hard if the money maker is broken!"
Fang just stared towards Rancis. There was something else going on besides the volleyball incident. With that look in his eyes, it couldn't have been something so petty. "What are you trying to prove by fighting Jimmy?" Fang asked. "You said you had your pride to stand up for, pride in what?"
They looked towards Fang curiously. Rancis stopped and looked up in thought. "I just… I'm not weak. I'm not the best fighter, or the best at sports, but I'm not weak. And I don't want people to look at me like I am anymore." He said frustrated.
The other boys looked at him concerned. Is that how he thought everyone saw him? "We never thought you were weak Rancis. Sure you're a sissy sometimes, but you've never been weak. I mean you spent years putting up with Taffyta. You have to be strong to do that."
Rancis gave a sad chuckle. He appreciated his friend trying to cheer him up, but bringing Taffyta up was a little stinging. She hadn't talked to him since he snapped at her. "Strength doesn't come from being able to fight Rancis." Fang pointed out. "There's all types of strength. Physical, emotional, moral. I didn't think you were a strong person to be honest."
"Are you trying to make him feel better? Cause that's not how that works." Swizzle said.
"Let me finish. I didn't think you were strong, until I saw you stand up to Jimmy. So if you'd allow me too, I want to help you." He said. Rancis grew wide eyed. "I can't guarantee you a win. We only have until Friday and Jimmy has been training for almost as long as I have. But I can show you a few moves to help you… survive."
Manny scoffed. "Teach him? We're supposed to be trying to get him to back out! What the heck man?!"
Fang crossed his arms. "You asked him if his pride was worth dying for. He said yes. He's going to fight, whether we want him to or not. And I figure it's better to send him in semi prepared then just throw him to the lion's den." He reasoned. "Besides, any man who's willing to die for his pride is worth helping."
Gloyd and Swizzle shared a glance before sighing. "Dang it. If you're seriously going through with this then we got no choice but to help." Gloyd said. Swizzle reluctantly nodded. He just hoped Jimmy wouldn't come after them next for helping.
Manny growled and snatched his hat off his head. "You do realize the chances of you surviving this are slim to none, right?" Rancis nodded. Manny sighed. "Crap, why do you have to be so freaking inspirational right now. Screw it, I'll help. I know a few close combat moves."
Rancis smiled.
When Friday came the entire class had gathered at Dudley's gym. While he didn't like the idea of having a crowd of kids coming to watch a fight in his gym, he didn't feel like shooing them away. They all looked worried and concerned, so he let them stay.
He didn't know what this Rancis boy did to make Jimmy mad enough to fight him, but he had rarely seen the white haired boy come in and hit the bags so fiercely. He had calmed down a great deal since Monday, but he was still eager to get into the ring. "Rancis is going to get slaughtered." Snowanna said as she watched Jimmy said swinging at the punching bag.
"Oh c'mon. I think he may have a chance." Candlehead said trying to be optimistic. Everyone winced as Jimmy hit the bag with an uppercut. It went flying up and hit the ceiling before falling back down. There was a hold in the bag and sand started pouring out of it. "Uh-oh…"
Crumbelina stood next to Jimmy as Cody set up the next bag. "Jimmy, please don't do this. You don't have anything to gain by beating on Rancis."
Jimmy snorted. "Sure I do. Satisfaction."
She sighed and shook her head. They heard a bell and turned towards the door. Rancis walked inside followed by Fang, Manny, Gloyd, and Swizzle. Jimmy smiled. "Well, look who actually showed up. I give you some points for not chickening out at least. And you even brought your own little fight crew too."
Rancis glared back at him. "I'm no coward. I'm here and I'm ready to fight." He said. He glanced over at Taffyta who crossed her arms and looked away. Seemed like she was still mad at him, not that he could blame her. He turned back to Jimmy. "Let's go this."
Dudley brought Rancis some protective gear. Rancis asked why Jimmy wasn't wearing any, and the other boy insisted he didn't need it. While it had ticked him off he didn't argue.
Cody, who was refereeing, explained the rules. The two would fight until one gave up or couldn't stand for ten seconds. Each of them got one time out, and Cody would cut in and stop the fight if things went too far. Both of them were allowed to use punches and kicks, but low blows or hits to the throat were out.
Gloyd and Swizzle stood in Rancis corner trying to give him some words of encouragement. "I heard you guys were training him all week." Vanelope said looking to Fang. "Do you think he might actually stand a chance?"
"No." Fang said bluntly. "Four days of crammed in training are no match for years of it. I never planned on Rancis to win the fight. The goal has always just been survival." The others faces paled. Fang noticed and flinched. Tea told him he was a little too blunt sometimes. "B-but, anything is possible. He could pull an upset I suppose."
Dudley hit the bell and Jimmy stood up and rolled his shoulders back. "You ready to take your lumps blondie?" He asked taking his boxing stance.
Rancis put up his best boxing stance. "Bring it on."
Jimmy smirked before rushing towards him with blinding speed. He raised his fist and got ready to swing, but Rancis kicked forward. Jimmy stopped just before his foot made contact with his shin. "Jimmy is much faster than you, and you won't be able to keep up." He remembered Fang say. "But he's also rash. He'll run straight towards you. Take advantage of knowing his fist move and catch him off guard. And when he's distracted…"
Jimmy was looking down at his feet, surprised that he'd started with a kick to the shin. He suddenly felt a blow to the head. Rancis had taken advantage of his surprise and hit him with a wide swing. "Don't stop with one hit. If you nail him, then keep going. Don't let up." Manny's voice said. "He's used to fighting with his fist. He instinctively won't guard low. Ground him."
Rancis rushed forward as Jimmy stumbled back and tackled his legs. He began trying to pull them from under him, and Jimmy struggled to keep balance. "Holy crap! He's doing it!" Swizzle said amazed. "It's actually working!"
"You're kidding me!" Snowanna said shocked.
"No freaking way!" The twins shouted.
Jimmy growled and punched downward, hitting Rancis in the back. "Let you of me you little twerp!" He said angrily. Rancis gritted his teeth. Every punch to the back felt like he was getting hit with a bat. But if he could endure long enough to knock him to the floor, he could use that hold Fang showed him and win. "I said let go!"
Rancis suddenly felt a pair of gloved hands grab him around the waist. Jimmy turned and threw him across the ring. The blonde landed and quickly scrambled up to his feet. He took a fighting stance, but a then saw a blur or white and felt a punch to the stomach. Only after he jumped back did Rancis get a clear look at Jimmy. He had moved so fast that he had barely even registered the punch.
Now however, the pain was setting in. The rest of the class gasped as he grabbed onto his stomach and kneeled over. He looked like he was going to throw up. "That was a clever little move you pulled off there, and you did catch me off guard, but I've been sparring with Fang for years. All that martial arts MMA stuff ain't new to me."
Rancis fell down to his knees and coughed. He knew getting hit would hurt. But this was something he had never prepared himself for. "Rancis!" Candlehead shouted worriedly. Taffyta looked wide eyed. The both of them looked like they were going to run over to their friend, but he held his hand up. "I-I can still fight." He said getting up.
Jimmy raised an eyebrow at him. He thought after a punch like that the guy would cave, but he still wanted to keep going. "Whatever." Jimmy said raising his fists.
Rancis leapt forward, but was quickly hit by two jabs. He stumbled back and covered himself as Jimmy kept swinging. Even with his guard up, Rancis could feel the power behind each blow. Eventually he was backed up to the corner. "Always watching that pretty face of yours."
He felt another blow to the stomach and the breath left his lungs. Rancis coughed again and nearly fell, but managed to grab the ropes. Jimmy backed off a few feet. He knew he was much more experienced than the other boy, and he wanted a fight. Not a slaughter. "Anytime you're ready pretty boy." He said chuckling.
Rancis took a few seconds to regain his breath before charging at him again. He swung at Jimmy who ducked and hit him with an uppercut right to the chin. Rancis found himself frozen as his whole body recoiled from the blow. He was still standing, but he couldn't move. Jimmy brought his fist back. "Fights over pretty boy."
Just as he was about to swing forward, someone shouted out. "Time out!" Jimmy stopped and turned towards the others. Taffyta was standing up on the ropes. "I said time out! I'm in his corner or whatever, I can do that!" She shouted.
Jimmy scowled and was about to argue, but Cody spoke. "She is standing in his corner, so technically she can do that. Time out, both of you back to your corners." Jimmy looked annoyed but obeyed. Even if he did want to argue, Cody was one of the few people he knew what was stronger than him. And he wouldn't hesitate to hit him if he mouthed off.
Rancis stumbled back to his corner breathing heavily. He looked up at Taffyta who looked terrified. "You finally talking to me again?" He asked.
She frowned. "Look at you! You're going to have bruises all over your back and stomach! Your eye is already starting to swell! You look like a mess!" He ran a hand over his face and winced in pain. "Rancis, I don't know why you're doing this! If you wanted to prove you're tough, then you've done it! So just stop!"
"No." He said stubbornly. "I almost knocked him off his feet. If I can just get him to the ground then I can-"
"Do you have a death wish?!" She asked. "Are you a masochist?! Do you think this is going to make you a man or something?! I can't understand why you're still going through with this! There's no reason for you to keep fighting!"
Rancis turned away from her. "Yes there is." He said determined. "Just watch me." He said stepping forward. Jimmy saw he was ready and stepped forward as well.
Taffyta groaned and slammed her fist on the ring post. Jimmy glanced towards her and then stared back at Rancis. "Oh, so that's what this was all about huh?" He asked smirking. Rancis looked at him confused, but then realized who he was staring at. "There had to be an easier way to do it then fighting me moron." Rancis glared and blushed slightly.
Cody waved his hand down and the two rushed at each other. Jimmy dodged every one of Rancis punches and jabs at him. He hit him with punch after punch, but Rancis was forcing himself to stay up. Rancis took another punched and looked like he was falling to his knees, but he launched himself forward and grabbed Jimmy's legs.
He once again tried to knock him off his feet. Jimmy started punching at his back. "I honestly had no idea Flutterbugger could take a beating like this. What is he made off?" Cindy asked looking towards Taffyta.
The pink wearing girl had enough. She prepared to step into the ring and end this herself, but suddenly someone grabbed her. "Don't." Fang said sternly.
"Let go! I'm stopping this!"
"If you step in and end this for him, you'll have hurt him more than Jimmy ever could." He said pulling her back. "Think about this. What could he be withstanding a beating like this for? What could be worth this?" He asked.
She looked confused. How was she supposed to know why he was doing this? She wasn't a mind reader. She thought back to when all of this started. In gym class. They were playing volley ball, she was talking about… wait, he couldn't possibly be... "That idiot!" She said running her hand over her face.
Her? He was really in there getting beat up just for her? She had seen that worried look on his face the first time she talked about Jimmy at his match, but she thought it was pretty clear she was joking. That's the only reason she ever talked about him. To get under Crumbelina's skin. Had he really been taking it seriously this whole time?
"If you jump in and stop him he'll never be able to live it down. The only thing you can do now is watch him." Fang said crossing his arms.
She sighed before taking a deep breath. Fang was right. If she cut in now that would only hurt the boy's ego. All she could do now was support him. "Whoop his butt Rancis!" She shouted.
Rancis grew wide eyed. He had easily recognized the sound of her voice, but he still couldn't believe it. She was cheering, for him. Against Jimmy. She actually wanted him to win. She actually thought he could win. He felt a second wind as he poured all his strength into knocking Jimmy over.
The white haired boy looked shocked as his feet were pulled from under him. He landed on his back and Rancis quickly jumped over and grabbed his arm. He wrapped his legs around it and gripped Jimmy's wrist firmly. "He's got him in the arm bar! He did it! He freaking did it!" Swizzle shouted excitedly. The others cheered. They couldn't believe it. Rancis was going to win.
Rancis pulled as hard as he could on his arm. He finally got him, and he wasn't about to let this chance at victory slip from his grasp. Jimmy grunted. Not out of pain, but annoyance. He was a boxer, and he wasn't used to fighting out of these types of situations. He knew there was some way to break out of these things, but he couldn't for the life of him remember.
Eventually he just decided to do it his own way.
Jimmy rolled over managing to his on his knees, but Rancis kept the hold. Jimmy then began to stand up, and with one mighty heave lifted his arm, and by extension Rancis, off the ground. The cheering stopped and their faces all paled again. "You've got to be kidding me…" Rancis said in disbelief.
Fang slapped his forehead. He had forgotten to take Jimmy's strength and Rancis weight into account. While it was true that pinning his arm would restrict Jimmy, he was used to lifting much heavier weights than Rancis. "Say goodnight." Jimmy said before swinging his arm down towards the matt.
Rancis panicked. The last thing he saw before suddenly blacking out was the ceiling.
Rancis had eventually woken up later that evening. Dudley had treated his injuries, and the rest of the class had cheered when he walked outside. While he may not have won, he'd done much better than any of them thought he would. Fang had fist bumped him telling him they'd work on his grappling technique.
Manny told him he wasn't the best fighter, but he was the best at taking a beating. Gloyd and Swizzle remarked that he was hands down the toughest of the three of them. Jimmy being Jimmy walked up to him, and then bragged about kicking his butt. The others harped on him about it, but he didn't pay it any attention.
He had come by when the others weren't looking and slapped him on the back, which according to Larry was a sign of respect.
The only one who hadn't stayed and congratulated him was Taffyta. He had been bummed about her leaving, but tried to get over it. After snapping at her before, and pretty much ignoring her when she begged him to stop, she had a right to be frustrated with him. It was a wonder that she even bothered cheering for him.
The next day in class he sat with a shiny black eye. The other guys said it made him look tough. Then Taffyta made her way inside. He looked at her surprised. He knew he should have expected to see her, she wouldn't have stopped coming to school just because of him, but he just didn't know what to say to her. "Um… Taff-"
"Stop." She said holding her hand up. "You're not the strongest. You're not the fastest. You're definitely not the most athletic." She said bluntly. After everything that had happened, Rancis knew and accepted those thing. But hearing her state those things out loud stung a bit.
"Noted." He said looking down.
She rolled her eyes. How could she affect him to easily? "Shut up and let me finish. You may not be the most physically fit, but you are my best friend. And that fact alone makes you the coolest guy in class already. I don't need to brag about you Flutterbugger. People have eyes. They can already see how cool you are."
Rancis stared at her for a few seconds before smirking. Some of the other guys began yelling about how they were supposedly the coolest in the class, but they were largely ignored. "Oh, and by the way." Taffyta said taking her seat. "That black eye, makes you look way manlier." She said winking at him.
A/N: And there it is! After a year, another chapter is up! God it feels good to write for this story again! It's not nearly as plot heavy as the others so I can be a bit more flexible!
Obviously this was a Taffyta/Rancis chapter. Someone pointed out that I hadn't focused on them in a while(a little difficult to remember everyone with so many couples) so I figured I'd give them the spotlight. Now I wanted to have Rancis fight Fang instead of Jimmy since we already had his boxing chapters, but I just couldn't see a clever way to work him into the situation.(Taffyta isn't interested in him and Fang is more calm and cool headed than Jimmy)
I'm trying to give Jimmy a break since he's personally my favorite OC and I give him a lot of the spotlight. So don't expect the next couple of chapter to feature him. I hope you guys like the fight seen. When I first started writing I wasn't too good at action scenes. A friend told me I was better at the comedy/fluff scene in my stories, so I went with my strengths. But I've been working on them, and I think their a lot better now.
Anyway, hope you guys like it. Also, check out the following writers.
cjupsher: Writes some totally awesome stories about the Big Four. My personal favorite is the Star Wars AU, it's awesome and definitely worth a read.
Alisi Thorndyke: Has a lot of well written stories, including ones for Wreck-It Ralph and Gravity Falls, two of my favorite genres. I highly recommend 'Fight For The Code'
Dreamerawaken: An awesome artist, one who drew the cover art for my story, and a good writer to boot. Check out her "Gloyd's Past' Stories, and her artwork on deviant art.
papyLaPlage: Currently writing my favorite RWBY based story. "CRDL's Realization". A story which has was too little reviews for how good it is. He also has a deviant art page apparently, which you can find the link too on his home page. Go check it out.
Until next time guys.
