DAY 3: KAGOME

Kagome slowly groaned and turned on her side. What was that on her face? It was wet and annoying. She ran her hand down her face and tried to find something to cover herself with. She wasn't ready to wake up yet. After a few more minutes of irritation, she opened her eyes and looked around her. The sky was heavy with dark rain clouds and a slight mist was on the land. As she glanced towards the Siren, she realized that the leaves above her were dripping on her.

"You could have at least found some place dry for me to sleep!" She said crossly as she moved so she was out from beneath the leaves.

"You have been asleep long enough."

Kagome glared at her but remained quiet. She was afraid that if she talked she would start singing and the once again be forced to sleep. She sighed and looked around. Inuyasha and her friends still hadn't found her. Maybe they weren't going to be able to or maybe Inuyasha had forgotten her and was off with Kikyo. No he couldn't. He couldn't just forget.

On some level she recognized that her thoughts were darker than normal and she tried to fight them. Inuyasha wouldn't just leave her but he might not know she was in trouble. Tears started in her eyes but she tried to fight them. She felt a mixture of emotions. Anger, hurt, betrayal but she realized that no matter what, she was never alone. If she could get out of here, she could find Sango and Miroku because she knew that they would never join with Kikyo or she could go home and remain there. Her heart was filled with pain as she continued seeing Inuyasha's arms around Kikyo. He had held Kagome before but never as passionately. He really was in love in love with Kikyo. I wish that Kikyo would disappear from our lives forever! Kagome thought and then felt immediately horrified. What am I turning into? Tears started in her eyes and slowly started down her face.

It's strange to think the songs we used to sing

The smiles, the flowers, everything is gone

Yesterday I found out about you

Even now just looking at you feels wrong

Kagome clamped her mouth closed. She knew that she shouldn't have felt betrayed, it's not like Inuyasha was her boyfriend, but she did. Pain radiated throughout her heart and she felt as though her heart was breaking. She was in danger and her Priestess powers were failing her. She could sense that the Siren was keeping something from her, something important. She was in danger and Inuyasha was with Kikyo. She refused to give up on herself and she refused to give in to the Siren. She started feeling nauseated and her body started trembling. As she continued to be resistant, her body started shaking even more and as her eyes met the Siren's, she felt pain explored through her head. As she screamed out in pain, the words flew out of her.

You say that you'd take it all back, given one chance

It was a moment of weakness and you said yes

You should've said no, you should've gone home

You should've thought twice 'fore you let it all go

You should've known that word

But what you did with her get back to me

And I should've been there in the back of your mind

I shouldn't be asking myself why

You shouldn't be begging for forgiveness at my feet

You should've said no, baby and you might still have me

She could feel her anger starting to build. Anger at Inuyasha for choosing Kikyo, anger at herself for being unaware of her surroundings in a dangerous area, anger at Siren for making her sing and anger at fate for forcing her into this situation. Her heart was broken and she was in danger. She was tired of being in danger. She was tired of fighting Naraku, tired of being kidnapped-although truth be told Koga wasn't that bad and tired of being in danger. She just wanted to go home. Inuyasha chose Kikyo and now she is choosing the modern era over the feudal era.

You can see that I've been crying

And baby you know all the right things to say

But do you honestly expect me to believe

We could ever be the same

You say that the past is the past, you need one chance

It was a moment of weakness and you said yes

You should've said no, you should've gone home

You should've thought twice 'fore you let it all go

You should've known that word

But what you did with her get back to me

And I should've been there in the back of your mind

I shouldn't be asking myself why

You shouldn't be begging for forgiveness at my feet

You should've said no, baby and you might still have me

Kagome unaware was her feet as she allowed the words to flow through her. The siren smiled smugly to herself because she knew that Kagome's doom was her love for Inuyasha. Kagome was a strong woman, but her doubts and pain was allowing the Siren to manipulate her. Kashu did have feelings of remorse and she had some feelings of pain herself especially when she saw Inuyasha's selflessness as he put himself in danger in order to save the other woman. They were very close do to some of the life threatening situations that they have suffered through, which was why his betrayal was so painful for her.

Kagome fell quiet as she could almost sense Kashu's thoughts and emotions. She stayed quiet as she glanced over at the Siren. Kagome realized that the emotions were beyond what she should be feeling. Kagome was optimistic and she believed in Inuyasha; however, she saw him choose Kikyo and she heard him say he would always protect her. Tears started in her eyes as she hid her face. He should have said no.

I can't resist before you go tell me this

Was it worth it? Was she worth this?

No, no, no, no, no, no

You should've said no, you should've gone home

You should've thought twice 'fore you let it all go

You should've known that word

But what you did with her get back to me

And I should've been there in the back of your mind

I shouldn't be asking myself why

You shouldn't be begging for forgiveness at my feet

You should've said no, baby and you might still have me.

Despite her pain, she knew that Inuyasha would think that Kikyo was worth it. With him choosing her, her time in the Feudal Era was over. She calmed for a moment as she felt her own pain but raised her face towards the sky. Despite how much pain she was in, she was happy she met him and she wanted him to be happy. She wished him the best and for a moment, she did wish that she could forget, she wished that she could go back to the modern era.

She was surprised as she realized for a moment that the dark sky had grown darker due to the demons coming for the Siren to feast. She realized for a second that she had been quiet for a moment and the Siren was staring at her.

"I offered it and I will again, I can help you forget about him."

Kagome nodded as she thought about the offer. She was strong and optimistic but it was hard to be knowing that he was chose Kikyo.

"Stay out of my head and allow me to do this with no influence from you." Kagome's voice for the first time sounded more like herself. It was strong as she glanced at the Siren. Kashu smiled and nodded. Kagome sighed as she felt the darkness starting to crowd in.

Author's Note: The song she sang was "Should've Said No" by Taylor Swift.
